One more chance
Former UH defensive back Richard Torres was set to become a Warrior graduate assistant this semester. It was a natural fit. Torres was a 140-pound walk-on from Kahuku High who improved his strength and skills to become a UH team captain. The GA position would have been a boost for what appears to be his destiny as a college coach.
But Torres said he was just not ready to give up his pro aspirations.
Torres said he will compete in Hawaii’s Pro Day in March, then try to secure workouts with CFL teams. He also is seeking an agent.
Torres completed his UH eligibility in December 2011. He had a stint with the Georgia Storm of the AFL last year. He was an assistant coach on Kahuku’s state championship team in 2012. It appeared he would be hired for one of the two GA openings before Torres decided his pro dreams were “not done yet.”

It would seem that BYU is trying to gain an inside track on signing those Kahuku HS players with Robert Anae bringing in Mark Atuaia. The current running backs coach has an extensive resume at the D-I level, but is out in favor of Atuaia, who was in an admin position in the athletic department. Atuaia doesn’t have much coaching experience (GA-BYU, Ricks JC). Regardless, Anae has been given full autonomy as to who will be on his offensive staff.
How about Darnell Arceneaux for UH OC or Grad. Asst.?

espn reports chip kelly is definitely out at oregon, most likely will end up at cleveland, however buffalo, arizona, and philadelphia is in the mix.
and oregon plans to replace kelly with OC mark helfrich…if he doesn’t go with kelly.
…so boise will remain the frontrunner in the MWC for now.
