UH lands Kahuku’s Falemalu

Rashaan Falemalu, a linebacker/tight end at Kahuku High, has made a verbal commitment to play for the Warriors in 2013.

Falemalu is 6-2 and 210 — and growing, according to Kahuku coach Reggie Torres.

Yes, that name should be familiar. He’s the younger brother of UH defensive end Paipai Falemalu.

It was a successful spring practice today — on and off the field, and sometimes both.

High school coaches, prospects and recognizable alumni (Chad Owens, Maa Tanuvasa) were among the attendees at the practice, which doubled as a coaches’ clinic and talk-story gathering. Participation award went to David Hallums, who brought 13 Pearl City High coaches. (They also were the best dressed.)

The Warriors will have another day for high school juniors later in spring training. This was a good start.

don’t know if this is something new to spring ball, but having hs coaches and players attend practice creates a most interesting atmosphere for present and future recruits and recruiting. is coach Chow going to have player roster sheets available again??

I think it is BS that people like Warren Sapp, who have made millions playing football and currently makes over $100K/year, can escape debt by filing for bankruptcy while people who make far less and actually know what struggle is are forced to deal with credit chasers and collection agencies. What is wrong with this picture?

  77. Kekoa April 7, 2012 11:02 am

    Solid! 10 Q Bryson.

  78. Kevin April 7, 2012 11:05 am

    What’s more important than 32-3?

    TWO ANSWERS:

Winning two games on the road against a team with a sub 50 RPI (BYU at 41).

Getting 6-1 in conference with a chance at 7-1.

  79. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:08 am

    Bryson,

must be pretty packed around the field.

  80. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:09 am

So did BYU put up their best pitcher in the 1st game or did they hold out for this upcoming second game?

  81. Bryson April 7, 2012 11:12 am

Alot of people good atmosphere very energetic feel to practice…also I think RGM is a student assistant…can you clarify if he is ST?

RGM is back in school ? Going to finish up? That would be great.

  85. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:17 am

Big break here.. can Hawaii capitalize? Majam gets a base hit.. then gets to second on a wild pitch..

  86. Kekoa April 7, 2012 11:17 am

Makes no nevah mine. Wahine can still stick em.

    They needed a warm up.

    Did you vote already m-i-h?

  87. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:19 am

Majam on third on another wild pitch.. Robinson at bat.. 1 out…

  88. Kekoa April 7, 2012 11:20 am

    Score!

  89. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:20 am

Yeah.. I vote every 20 minutes..

  90. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:22 am

Majam scores again.. runner on 1st two outs…

  91. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:32 am

Byu.. gets two runs in… 1 out .. still bottom of the 1st..

  92. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:34 am

Wahine playing a little out of synch.. got to shake it off.. Parnaby called for a balk, Iwata’s indecision gives BYU a lead and no play.. and BYU gets another RBI … 3-1 BYU .. bottom of the 1st.. still early.. lots of game left.

  93. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:37 am

Dang… accidently closed my browser.. get back online and it’s 4-1 BYU … hooo boy!.. 🙁

  94. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:39 am

5-1 BYU still bottom of the 1st… BYU goes through their full line up in 1 inning. aigoo!..

  95. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 11:40 am

6-1 BYU… Parnaby has to settle down and shake it off quick..

  96. Kekoa April 7, 2012 11:41 am

Minah setback…waiting for Wahine to respond…

  97. gmahoney April 7, 2012 11:43 am

  102. Steve April 7, 2012 12:08 pm

  105. Steve April 7, 2012 12:12 pm

Those Australian coaches messed Kaia up. She has not been the same since she has gotten back from the Australian team trials.

  106. whitey April 7, 2012 12:14 pm

kevin, just checking. doesn’t byu rpi go up after playing the wahines, irregardless of win-loss.

  107. whitey April 7, 2012 12:17 pm

the rainbow wahine softball team wins and loses as a team, not any one individual. That is why they are special and good. Each one is a teammate and not an individual.

  108. Steve April 7, 2012 12:27 pm

Wow, did not know Kevin needed a protector. But I guess Whitey is Kevin’s protector, now.

  109. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:30 pm

    :evil:byu:evil:

  110. Steve April 7, 2012 12:33 pm

The Softbows just need to take it to FSU when they get here, later this month.

  111. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:35 pm

    ➡ UH can start now.

  112. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 12:38 pm

I want to see them make it a closer game, if they can’t win it outright.

  113. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 12:40 pm

A huge come from behind win would really serve them well at this point of the season.

  114. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 12:43 pm

HR.. IWATA… !!!… too bad we didn’t have two more runners on base..

  115. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:44 pm

Iwata smacks a 2 run shot!

    Not enuff…

  116. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:52 pm

    Now or never, top 7.

  117. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:55 pm

    1 down.

  118. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:56 pm

    Dara on with a single.

  119. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:56 pm

Base hit puts runners on 1st & 2nd.

  120. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:58 pm

    2 down.

  121. Kekoa April 7, 2012 12:59 pm

Runners at the corners and Majam at bat.

  122. whitey April 7, 2012 12:59 pm

steve, just gotto ask, but do you have your head up your #$% or are you in deep @#$$. I asked Kevin a question on rpi, then I said the rainbow wahines win or lose as a team. Where did I say Kevin wins or loses or needs protection from you. He is his own man and don’t need my help for protection.

  123. whitey April 7, 2012 1:00 pm

    kekoa, and a huge hr?????

  124. Kekoa April 7, 2012 1:01 pm

Game over…kitty cats sneak one away from the Wahine.

  125. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 1:02 pm

The Wahine get to come home now… Road games are always tough..

  126. Kekoa April 7, 2012 1:03 pm

Whitey, the Wahine had already ruined the home record at kitty kat park.

  127. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 1:05 pm

Wahine return after a 5-1 run on the road. Not shabby at all.

  128. Steve April 7, 2012 1:13 pm

The Wahine cannot afford to lose another WAC game. Need to finish 1st in Conference play. That way, they will not have to face FSU or BYU until quite possibly the 3rd game of the Conference Tournament.

  129. whitey April 7, 2012 1:15 pm

    kekoa, they did good!!!

  130. gmahoney April 7, 2012 1:15 pm

Na Wahine, we’re proud of you! See ya next week in our house!

  131. mo808 April 7, 2012 1:27 pm

Great job Wahine! Okay, back to voting …

  132. Steve April 7, 2012 1:31 pm

Need to remember, no matter how many votes Stephanie gets, if the Wahine do not get to the Softball World Series, it will not matter. Cause the winner for those kinds of trophies come players that are in the Softball World Series.

  133. Lanaiboy April 7, 2012 1:38 pm

Sort of frustrating to watch on TV cuz the Bows were chasing bad pitches all night. There must have been about 4 K’s with the ball being chased way out of the strike zone, like in the dirt twice. A long, long road trip and the girls are probably tired. Bob Coolen stated that Parnaby was told to finesse the batters by the Australian national coaches, to which Coolen strongly disagreed. Coolen wants her to pitch with power and with lots of stuff (spin) on the ball. That was her road to success this year. Still, only four losses for the year is just great and look forward to Louisiana Tech next week.

  134. gmahoney April 7, 2012 1:48 pm

Remember the Gulliver’s Travels cartoon? One of the Lilliputians was a character named Glum. He never saw anything positive about anything. What a sad little man. I wonder why I just thought of that. Or am I thinking of the Smurfs?

  135. jkjones April 7, 2012 1:58 pm

so, if you are not a sugar coater, you are the character Glum? funny stuff. guess the word opinion has no exchange value.

  136. cocobean April 7, 2012 2:00 pm

    steve, jkjones, lanaiboy…….

  137. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:10 pm

im not concerned with kaia. Yeah, she hasnt been the same since returning, but Stephanie is getting better in each outing and crafting each pitch. Coolen is good with his pitchers–hopefully Parnaby will rebound.

The concern here is our hitting.

it’s not so much the talent as it is the instruction with the lead foot in the batter’s box.

replay iwata’s HR and watch her left foot pullback into the hole. That is her normal style. Our batter’s are being instructed to open their stance at the outset. JMO, but, every batter is different and so is their stride-to-swing. It works naturally for Majam but not for others.

It’s a mechanic that a batter thinks about and could be disruptive to timing.

  138. gmahoney April 7, 2012 2:11 pm

There is a big difference between a sugar coater and a positive fan. Why do some people insist on being Debbie Downers? A 5-1 road trip is nothing to be ashamed of. Our 32-4 Na Wahine made us proud. Go Na Wahine!

  139. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:12 pm

    cocobean….that says it all.

  140. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:14 pm

you need to accept we do not ALL THINK THE SAME–praise the lord for that.

  141. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:20 pm

let me understand this–if you voice opinion contrary to the card carrying membership herein, you are not being a positive fan. geez, you have never been challenged intellectually have you?

  142. gmahoney April 7, 2012 2:22 pm

Not saying we all need to think alike, but this IS a fan blog. Those who see the positives in a program get branded with the sugar- coater label. Just saying, you are entitled to your opinion and I am also entitled to mine.

  143. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:30 pm

no. you are wrong. opinion is OK. But not when it is rendered to personally attack others which occurs frequently on this blogsite by hit and artists that dont like others that have honest opinion.

If your thing is to sugar coat, so be it.

but, dont personally attack others who are critical and call it opinion. geez, that is so misguided.

  144. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:33 pm

your bias is underscored with the word, “fan blog”. What does that mean?

or are you presumptively assigning your own opinion?

  145. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 2:33 pm

Need to remember, no matter how many votes Stephanie gets, if the Wahine do not get to the Softball World Series, it will not matter. Cause the winner for those kinds of trophies come players that are in the Softball World Series.

So does that mean you’re not voting? This is not really an issue if she’s not in contention when the team gets there, is it? Yet, we can’t wait until then because voting will be long over. So, we need to keep her in contention in the now, the present, not in some future we cannot control. She’s a well-deserving candidate.

  146. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:35 pm

So why are you putting Steve down personally with the character glum inference for offering a well thought out opinion?

  147. gmahoney April 7, 2012 2:38 pm

You just attacked me, practice what you preach–you asked in you post 141 if I had ever been intellectually challenged. Whatever in the world does that do with being a positive fan? I was referring to the “sky is falling” comments that some bloggers post. Just enjoy the ride, win or lose. And if that is sugar-coating, so be it.

  148. Steve April 7, 2012 2:47 pm

MIH – I am voting for Steph, but I also know that if the Wahine do not get into the World Series it does not matter if Steph has 51% of the votes she will not win it. Also, Stephanie cannot do it all, the team needs Kaia to return to the form before she left for Australia. That is the responsibility of Coolen to get Kaia back to that form. Finally, the whole team needs to be aggressive at the plate. Alot of them are letting to many good pitches go by, and swinging at the bad ones. By alot, I do not mean all of them, just some of them. They seem to be very tentative at the plate. Cannot do that, if they want to go far, like the World Series.

  149. Stretch April 7, 2012 2:47 pm

Steve aka jkjones… take your meds so you only post as ONE person. When you forget the meds, your other personality starts posting but the same crap comes out.

  150. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 2:50 pm

I vote because she has been nominated and I want to show Stephanie Ricketts how much her efforts in and out of the classroom have been appreciated. The final reward would be a well-deserved honor for her, but I’m sure she will appreciate my fan vote and the thousands of others, like mine, as much or more. I know a certain other Ricketts who is tickled pink by the outpouring of fan support. It’s all good! … Focus on the good and strengths and let that draw out the best in each and every one of our players… Chee HO!… GO Warriors! Go Wahine! Go Bows!

  151. Steve April 7, 2012 2:51 pm

People like jkjones and Lanaiboy, want the Wahine’s to win, but they also know what it will take for the Wahine to get to the College World Series, and quite possibly win it all.

  152. Steve April 7, 2012 2:54 pm

Stretch, I am not jkjones, or Lanaiboy, ST can verify that. But you are one of those, that jkjones is talking about. If a person does not agree with the Tsaikos they are either stupid or whatever. Tsaikos are always correct. How lame is that.

  153. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:55 pm

stretch–put your money where your big mouth speaks–$200 we are not the same blogger.

    anything else, wise or otherwise.

  154. kapakahi April 7, 2012 2:55 pm

Good to see lots of the local high school coaches….especially those who were MIA the past 2 years…and with alot of their Class of 2013 prospects….at today’s UH practice. Some coaching friends told me that this was the first ever UH practice that they attended.

More local high school coaches and local prospects in attendance today than the past 2 Junior Days combined.

  155. Stretch April 7, 2012 2:55 pm

How lame is that you are trying to deny that you are posting as all of the above…. check your IP address, it’s not too hard.

  156. Stretch April 7, 2012 2:56 pm

you got it!! $200. i’ll come see you on the rail the next time the softball team plays a home game.

  157. jkjones April 7, 2012 2:57 pm

btw, your reference to meds is trite and overused–that about sums up your blog personality.

  158. Steve April 7, 2012 2:57 pm

MIH – Need to remember, fan voting is only 1/3 of it. Just because a player wins the fan voting does not automatically mean, that player wins the award, far from it.

  159. Steve April 7, 2012 3:00 pm

Stretch, like jkjones says, put your money where your lame mouth is. Hey, jkjones, $200 is to little, up it to $2000, we can both use that kind of money.

  160. Steve April 7, 2012 3:01 pm

Stretch, make sure ST is with you, so he can verify the fact that jkjones and me are not the same person. I cannot wait to see you get out of this one.

  161. Steve April 7, 2012 3:02 pm

Oh, btw, Stretch, make sure you have the $2000 with you.

  162. Steve April 7, 2012 3:03 pm

jkjones, will you be able to attend the next Wahine softball game? If not, how would you like Stretch to send your money.

  163. d1shima April 7, 2012 3:05 pm

    Come on BaseBows!

  164. Stretch April 7, 2012 3:05 pm

some people are so damn pathetic…

  165. Steve April 7, 2012 3:05 pm

Stretch, do not forget, Lanaiboy needs to be included also, since you formly believe I am him also. Lanaiboy, could you use $2000?

  166. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 3:06 pm

    Steve…

If a player wins the fan vote. That’s still good for the player. What player could really ask for more from their fans? It’s a memory and feel good moment that will last a lifetime. Don’t you think? Trophies collect dust. I had dozens of bowling trophies from high-school through college… worthless. I have no idea where my high school track letters and Letterman jacket from high school went after I finished college. But the memories of my Dad’s proud face and my friends cheering me on through all of that are etched in my heart forever. Those are priceless.

  167. jkjones April 7, 2012 3:10 pm

eh, stretch. no way. you contact steve tsai and place your wager in 20 dollar bills (10) for him to hold and disperse to the winner. I will do the same. He will verify me and steve. winner gets the pot and donates the $200 net winnings per instruction to tsai directly to the wahine softball program, but gets his $200 back.

i will retain my anonimity to you.

  168. Steve April 7, 2012 3:12 pm

MIH – True, but does it actually reflect how many fans actually voted for that player. As it seems, it just shows how many times a particular fan can vote, and how fast that particular fan can enter that vote. So it really does not mean, anything. If a fan could only vote once, and only once, that would mean more.

  169. Kekoa April 7, 2012 3:13 pm

I strive to stay positive about the Wahine team. Having fun with them win or lose, with my comments. Celebrating their accomplishments by being eager to vote for any award that they are nominated for. That’s how I roll.

The nay sayers are quick to find fault and slow to lend praise. These are also the folks who have coaching tips, but then…who asked you? Coach Coolen has earned the credentials to coach at this level, have you?

  170. jm2375 April 7, 2012 3:18 pm

    Congrats to the Wahine!

So, if UH doesn’t get to the CWS, then it doesn’t matter if Steph is the leading vote getter? Then tell me how Kanani won the volleyball award, when they weren’t in the regional finals. Your logic is flawed.

  171. Steve April 7, 2012 3:19 pm

Kekoa, I am still positive about this Wahine Team. The BIG WIN was the first game of the doubleheader. That was the game they had to win. It gave the Wahine a 1 game lead over BYU in the lost column. It would have been nice to win the 2nd game, but that game did not mean as much for the Wahine, as it did for BYU. All I mentioned today about Coolen is that he needs to get Kaia back to the form she was in before leaving for Australia. The Wahine need Kaia back to that form, if they want to go far, Stephanie cannot do it all herself, no matter how good she is.

  172. jm2375 April 7, 2012 3:19 pm

    Bravo, Kekoa-sensei, Bravo!!

  173. tommui April 7, 2012 3:20 pm

So glad that Steve, jkjones and Stretch have money to burn.

Perhaps the moneys in the bet should be diverted to the Wahine softball team booster’s club – putting your money where your mouth is.

The only problem that I see is that I know Stretch has donated quite a bit of $$ to various booster clubs and even started a fund within UHF for special Tsaiko projects.

I don’t know whether the other two have make such donations.

  174. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 3:22 pm

    Steve,

No matter..just as it’s not the size of the player …, when you act in a play, perform in a band, run in a meet, catch a pass in a game for a touchdown.. it’s the size of the roar, and the people who are roaring that count. Not just the numbers. If I vote a thousand times, and a thousand others did the same, then Stephanie will know how much her efforts have moved us. Enough for each of us to make the effort to vote a 1000 times. A lot harder than voting just once. If you affect only one person in your life and that one person moves mountains for you will you not be appreciative of that person? I certainly would.

  175. Kekoa April 7, 2012 3:22 pm

    Hi jm2375!

Is the blog pup ready to guard the clubhouse?

I look at what MPI is charging you for tuition as it was listed on the front page the other day. It would make me turn into the screecher!

  176. Slugger April 7, 2012 3:23 pm

    Missed practice, had to work.

    Congrats Wahine!

    Watching BaseBows…LET’S GO BOWS!!!

  177. Steve April 7, 2012 3:23 pm

jm2375 – Did I miss something, did Kanani win player of the year. I do not believe she did, if I am not mistaken, that award went to the USC Outside Hitter. Cause USC made it to the Final Four, and the Championship Game. Btw, the Wahine Volleyball team did make it to the Regionals. How soon do we forget!!!

  178. jm2375 April 7, 2012 3:27 pm

Steve – we are talking about the award Steph is nominated for, which is the same one Kanani received. It is not for POY. Have you not been paying attention?

Ten NCAA® softball student-athletes who excel both on and off the field were selected as finalists today for the 2012 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The complete list of finalists follows this release.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

  179. gmahoney April 7, 2012 3:27 pm

    Kanani was a Lowe’s winner in 2011.

  180. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 3:27 pm

I do know that Kanani won the Volleyball version of Lowe’s SeniorClassAward last year. http://www.seniorclassaward.com/columns/view/hawaiis_kanani_danielson_has_it_all/

  181. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 3:29 pm

I got to go to City Mill…. Play nicely, y’all!..

  182. jkjones April 7, 2012 3:30 pm

tommui, you miss my point @ 169….the winner donates the prize. now, if stretch is accurate, he wont lose a dime. So, you shouldnt be concerned. But, if he loses, that’s the price he pays for being a liar. I believe that is fair. stretch made the accusation, not me or steve. would you like to add to the pot and match stretch so we can up the ante to $400?

  183. d1shima April 7, 2012 3:34 pm

    BaseB 🙂 ws!!!

  184. gmahoney April 7, 2012 3:35 pm

Whoo hoo, Hawaii wins! Alright, BaseBows!

  185. Slugger April 7, 2012 3:36 pm

    HooRah! BOWS!!!

  186. jm2375 April 7, 2012 3:37 pm

    Woo hoo!!

    Congrats to the BaseBows!!

Down to the last out in the bottom of the 10th and the local boys come up with some clutch hitting!!! 3-2 in 10!

  187. jm2375 April 7, 2012 3:45 pm

Good job by the pitching staff and the defense. Fresnecks had *2* runs on *12* hits.

  188. jkjones April 7, 2012 3:45 pm

tommui, btw, steve is not wagering. stretch and i are wagering or anyone else on his side.

i will match the ante, whatever it is up to a reasonable limit established by our blog host–either way coach coolen sure could use the bucks. it’s a good cause for the wahine, who cares who pays, it’s all in fun. but the bottomline is to “zip da lip”.

  189. Kekoa April 7, 2012 3:47 pm

Like Donald Sutherlin said in Kelly’s Heroes, “Stop with the negativity!”

Let it go already. It always turns into a whine session with folks who never really get what it is about the Tsaiko’s.

We do discuss and agree to disagree at times. After the Warrior games, we sometimes have the most heated debates. Knowing each other, and not being afraid to speak to each other face-to-face makes it real. Besides, it’s hard to hate somebody who can prepare a mean bread pudding, or bake a Triple Choclate Cake!

  190. Steve April 7, 2012 3:47 pm

jkjones, just trying to help you out, but it is your wager, I understand.

  191. chiefgator April 7, 2012 3:47 pm

I love OC16 broadcast crew of Jim Leahey and Pal Eldredge. So good. UH is fortunate to have quality people coaching in every sport. Bob Coolen is a smart guy, Shoji is a living legend, Gib is smart and will get better with age. Trap is a wonderful recruiter and teacher of the game, Wade will also get better with age. Chow is someone who is gonna show us wonderful football like we never saw before. They all look like good mentors for our young kids to look up to.

  192. Kekoa April 7, 2012 3:51 pm

ChocLATE?…subliminal…I was always too late to get the last slice. Now as far as the BP, that meant death from above to the person or persons who happen to get the last one before me!

  193. kapakahi April 7, 2012 3:53 pm

JMHO that there is a real concern about lack of OL depth. Only 11 OL suited for practice today….since Mahaulu out with injury….BUT only 9 healthy OL (Cs Afusia & Clarke; OGs Dew, Hollowed, Lefotu, Winchester-Makainai; and OTs Loeffler, Loyd, Muir) practiced today since Legay & Shigematsu did not take any live reps due to injuries.

Just not enough healthy bodies right now for 2-deep OL….with only 3 healthy OTs practicing….so both Loeffler & Muir were each taking reps at both RT and LT….with almost no rest between reps.

BTW, former DE Marcus Malepeai took reps exclusively at DT at today’s practice…..and looked real good too.

  194. Pomai April 7, 2012 3:54 pm

What a great road trip, coming home with a 6 to 1 road win record, 32 and 4 overall isn’t to shabby I would say.

  195. kev-1 April 7, 2012 3:58 pm

    grumble, grumble, grumble . . .

Good win for the basebows. I’d like to see them a bit more aggressive at the plate. Seems like they are instructed to take a lot of pitches. I understand taking on 3-0, but in my opinion, when it is 3-1 let it rip.

  196. SteveM April 7, 2012 3:59 pm

    Help me out Tsai-ko! 😕

I can’t keep track of all the sock puppets until a day the Wahine lose a game.

Please email me the other Steve sock puppets you have identified on other days, since I’ve just been ignoring them. I want to make a list for my archives before it’s too late. Mahalo.

  197. al April 7, 2012 4:02 pm

    200

  198. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 4:07 pm

Shigematsu banged up again? Hope he can stay healthy enough this upcoming season. And it’s good to hear about Marcus Malepeai. I like the guy. I have high hopes for him.

  199. Steve April 7, 2012 4:09 pm

Pomai, 32-4 is not bad at all. But you have to admit, Coach Coolen needs to work with Kaia to get her back to where she was before she left for Australia. The Wahine will need for Kaia to regain that form. Coach Coolen also needs to get about 2 or 3 of the Wahine’s to be more agressive at the plate, not be so tentative.

  200. tommui April 7, 2012 4:11 pm

jkjonesa might be interesting – I have my doubts as who you are but I think I know what you are.

Would you be interested in matching my $$ that I have given to various UH athletic booster groups in the last year or moneys that I have directly obtained for the UHF which is going to various UH sports?

  201. al April 7, 2012 4:13 pm

Kapakahi…a real concern. yes. Four more olinemen coming in the summer to beef up the troops

  202. jm2375 April 7, 2012 4:15 pm

Kekoa – how long till the first Tsaiko-gate? 🙄 😆

btw, will we be still stuck in the same place for the t-gates or are we moving up in stature?

  203. Steve April 7, 2012 4:18 pm

Getting off of Softball, Baseball, and Football, for a second. Just thinking, if Shamburger does indeed transfer to UH, and Gib’s can also have Ronnie Stevens and Gerry Blakes to commit again. The 2013-14 season really looks extremely promising. With the recruits coming in, and the players that re-shirted, not to mentioned the freshmen and sophs, on this years team. I am thinking NCAA Tournament time.

  204. kapakahi April 7, 2012 4:24 pm

BTW, good to see and catch up talking story with longtime Farrington Governor HC Skippa Diaz at the coaches’ social this morning…..before practice.

  205. Steve April 7, 2012 4:30 pm

Kapakahi, how is Skippa Diaz doing, he did so much for the boys there. Keeping them on the straight and narrow. Do not know where some of them would be today if it was not for him.

  206. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 4:31 pm

    kapakahi,

Do all/most of the high school coaches seem to be upbeat about Chow and Co?

  207. Steve April 7, 2012 4:36 pm

Kapahaki or ST – Was the Kahuku, or any of the Private School HC’s there?

  208. Steve April 7, 2012 4:38 pm

Sorry, Kapakahi, spelled your name wrong.

  209. whitey April 7, 2012 4:41 pm

counselor, are you going to use your reserve that you saved for maui wowee??? hahahahaha

  210. whitey April 7, 2012 4:43 pm

nah, i gotto go. the spacecraft is fueled. my friends are on the darkside already and eating sum gizzards. dang!!!! hope they save me sum.

  211. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 4:55 pm

Positivity breeds positivity. Negativity breeds negativity. Words, spoken or written have power.

    Love’s Mirror.

Love holds a mirror. If you truly love someone, you hold a mirror for them, one which amplifies, magnifies and sharpens the beauty and the good attributes of the one who gazes into that mirror. Love’s mirror diminishes the negative traits, softens the focus on faults. Love’s mirror allows those who gaze into it to see, and believe in, the very best about themself. And in time, seeing the best in oneself brings out the best in that person. That’s one of the gifts of Love. It holds a mirror.

This IS a fan blog. We DO love our UH teams. We all hold mirrors. Does your mirror allow our teams to see and believe the best about themselves? Does it magnify and focus on faults, or does it show, and finally bring out the best in our teams?

  212. kapakahi April 7, 2012 4:56 pm

    #208 & #209,

Skippa has lost alot of weight from the cancer so almost didn’t recognize him….except for that big smile and his signature fu manchu mustache. Another reason for almost not recognizing him was that Skippa was wearing a green UH Under Armour polo shirt….whereas most of the local high school coaches were wearing their high school colors.

Skippa is splitting his residency between here and Wisconsin (where wife Mary is originally from). Skippa is as positive about life as always. Just a great guy!

Skippa left just before practice started…but his protege Coach Randall Okimoto stayed around throughout most of practice.

As far as the local high school coaches that I know and talked with, seems like they all personally know Coach Chow….from when he personally visited their respective schools as an assistant coach recruiting one of their players to a mainland school.

Some of my local high school coaching friends attended their first UH practice today…..specifically ‘cuz they were personally contacted by the man himself…..which definitely wasn’t the case previously. They said that the close relationship (with trust and respect) that they have specifically developed over the years with the man himself….as well as Keith Uperesa and Tommy Lee….as well as with Tony….that made them feel “obligated” to attend today’s practice. Otherwise, it’ll still take some time for them to get to know the new assistant coaches….like they know the local UH coaches.

  213. Steve April 7, 2012 4:58 pm

Kapakahi – Thanks for the update on Skippa.

  214. wowlaulau April 7, 2012 5:03 pm

#214, Best to ignore the negative people … that is what occurs when people don’t have a life of their own…

  215. kapakahi April 7, 2012 5:10 pm

    #210. Steve,

Just way too many local high schools to notice everyone….especially since alot of big body local coaches…..so I probably missed seeing them, but these are some of the Oahu schools that I saw represented…..

    – Farrington

    – Kahuku

    – Castle

    – Campbell

    – Aiea

    – Mililani

    – Kaiser

    – Leilehua

    – Kapolei

    – Kalaheo

    – Kaimuki

    – Waipahu

    – Iolani

    – Punahou

    – Kamehameha Kapalama

  216. gmahoney April 7, 2012 5:14 pm

    Welcome to the Warriors, Rashaan!

  217. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 5:16 pm

OK, Monday at 5:30 p.m., Stretch, Steve, Lanai Boy, JKJones all show up at UH’s grass practice field. I’ll bring my laptop, and you guys each can sign into the e-mail accounts that are listed.

    Everyone brings a check.

The loser of the bet must make a $200 donation to Aloha United Way.

  218. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 5:29 pm

I’ll even bring ScottM to verify.

This is good. One way or another, we’re going to finally have peace.

And UAW will have a nice donation.

  219. kapakahi April 7, 2012 5:29 pm

    #215,

    Yup. Forgot about Pearl City.

BTW, almost didn’t recognize David Hallums….since he looks like he gained the weight that Skippa has lost.

  220. jm2375 April 7, 2012 5:30 pm

Welcome to the Warrior ohana, Mr. Falemalu.

  221. kapakahi April 7, 2012 5:33 pm

BTW, Rashaan really looks just like his older bro.

Good to see Warrior signee Benny Fonua in attendance…..as well as Rashaan’s Red Raider teammates Wa’a and Wily.

2 down….with at least 1 more to go.

  222. mo808 April 7, 2012 5:33 pm

    Kahuku’s Falemalu in 2013! Woohoo!

  223. d1shima April 7, 2012 5:34 pm

Very productive day in da Quarry! 🙂

  224. d1shima April 7, 2012 5:34 pm

Wow! Dats gonna be almos’ as good as MNF! 🙂

  225. Steve April 7, 2012 5:36 pm

ST, I will be there, just to see Stretch put his foot in his mouth, and the look on his face, when he finds out he is wrong. Oh, I will also bring my camera. Also, would like a written apology from Stretch, to be published on your blog.

  226. Steve April 7, 2012 5:39 pm

    ST, btw, who is ScottM?

  227. Steve April 7, 2012 5:42 pm

Rashaan Falemalu, has good height, just needs to add a little more good weight.

  228. Wes'side Warrior April 7, 2012 5:43 pm

    Howzit, everyone!

Sounds good… da connection between UH and local schools/coaches. Gotta keep it going!

Kinda busy today, cleaning and trying to take care of sick little ones. Hope all of you have a happy, safe, and fun-filled Easter! Aloha from all of us out here in Georgia!

  229. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 5:44 pm

    We’re men.

    We don’t do apologies.

    Loser writes a check.

Then we go out, and get dinner together.

  230. Steve April 7, 2012 5:47 pm

ST, Stretch is not going to get off that easily. But I will go along with whatever jkjones and Lanaiboy feel.

  231. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 5:51 pm

    I’m the judge.

    Loser writes the check.

    Then that’s that.

I’ve seen a bunch of you guys. SA isn’t going to cover the muscle pulls you guys get when you try to swing.

Let’s be honest. The median age here is Medicare. Glory days have come and gone. Don’t be the old lady in Titanic.

  232. Steve April 7, 2012 5:54 pm

ST, without the apology, what is going to stop Stretch from continuing to say what he has been saying?

  233. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 5:56 pm

Hmm.. didn’t see Waianae, Nanakuli, Roosevelt, and my othr alma mater McKinley in that list. I hope they were there, just went unnoticed.

  234. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 5:57 pm

    Cart before the horse.

    Eggs before the hatching.

Let’s see how Monday plays out.

All four have to show up and be verified for Stretch to lose.

Either way, AUW gets a check, we all shake hands and then we go eat.

  235. Steve April 7, 2012 6:00 pm

Need to hear from jkjones and lanaiboy.

  236. kapakahi April 7, 2012 6:01 pm

Other former UH players also attending were….Antwaun Mahaley, Kevin Jackson, Matt Faga, Lance Samuseva, Greg Alexander, Liko Satele, and Vaughn Meatoga.

Also good to see current MBB player Shaq Stokes among practice observers.

  237. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:03 pm

Sounds like an awesome day at UH. Gotta love everything we’re seeing.

A big welcome to Falemalu the younger!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  238. Steve April 7, 2012 6:04 pm

kapakahi – Shaq Stokes must be crossing his fingers that Shamburger does decide to transfer to UH.

  239. d1shima April 7, 2012 6:06 pm

    4 hurs and 44 minutes!

Couldn’t they just show an abbreviated version on the eve of Easter?

    …IDK, The Seven Suggestions, maybe?

  240. Stretch April 7, 2012 6:08 pm

    I’ll be there….

  241. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:14 pm

    Enough preliminary chatter.

I’ll see everybody there on Monday.

  242. papajoe2 April 7, 2012 6:19 pm

ST, this is not my argument although I’ve been lurking and find it amusing, but shouldn’t the check be made out to the softball boosters since that is what started it. Steve, they don’t call him “stretch” for nothing.

  243. kapakahi April 7, 2012 6:21 pm

    ST,

Does Monday’s practice start at 3:30 PM or 4:30 PM?…..since I heard some players saying 4:30 (instead of normal 3:30 PM).

I’ll probably be there at the grass field at 5:30 PM anyway….and might get to witness this score being settled too.

  244. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:23 pm

Derek Inouchi said it was going to be at 3:30 p.m.

But Chow said a few weeks ago that, he wanted to have team meetings before practice, and the auditorium wasn’t available until after 4 p.m.

Either way, they’re racing agains the sun.

  245. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:27 pm

Ya mo b there. 😉 Wouldn’t miss this for the world.

  246. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:27 pm

    papajoe:

    This isn’t about a fight.

This is about an argument that has escalated so much that we’ve lost focus that I posted news about a UH football recruit.

    So let’s settle this.

    Whatever the outcome, AUW wins.

  247. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:27 pm

Or if I transpose it, the United Auto Workers win.

  248. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:28 pm

I imagine the public’s invited since it is a charitable event, Mr. Tsai?

  249. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:31 pm

    DPK:

The public can do whatever it wishes. I don’t tell people what to do.

  250. papajoe2 April 7, 2012 6:32 pm

Somebody sounds like an immature child. Always crying, what about…..

  251. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:34 pm

    #246-

U right Stephen, it’s all about the kids isn’t it? Time fo ‘oki all dis hakakaka!

  252. mo808 April 7, 2012 6:35 pm

This is a different “kine” of cattle call… I’m curious but my cautiousness might win out!

  253. HiFlyer April 7, 2012 6:35 pm

    It’s all about me.

  254. d1shima April 7, 2012 6:36 pm

Whoa! Watch out for backup lights….

  255. wafan April 7, 2012 6:38 pm

You know that sound the adults make on the Peanuts specials?

    Wa-wa-wa-wa-wa . . .

  256. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:38 pm

What part of “enough preliminary chatter” do people not understand?

Challenge has been issued. We’ll just wait until Monday to see what happens.

  257. d1shima April 7, 2012 6:39 pm

    Protect yourselves: One-handed blogging occuring

  258. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:42 pm

Sorry – slipped on my Freudian… that should read “hakaka” above”. 😆

  259. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:42 pm

Anyway, no more comments on the challenge until Monday.

  260. Steve April 7, 2012 6:42 pm

Well like I said in the post you deleted ST, the only way I can vindicate myself is thru the court system, if jkjones and Lanaiboy do not show up. And when I am vindicated thru the court system, Stretch and you will have to pay all court expenses.

  261. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 6:44 pm

    mo808..

No shame. Go. We’ll be right behind you.. to … ummm.. protect you!… yeah.. das right! protect you..so, no shame…. Ladies first.

  262. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:45 pm

Sounds like you want to withdraw.

    is that what you wish?

  263. Da Punchbowl Kid April 7, 2012 6:45 pm

And da woild is watching… Pau 4 now.

  264. Steve April 7, 2012 6:48 pm

ST, NO, cause I know I am not jkjones, and Lanaiboy. I believe you know that, too. But the court system would be the only way to vindicate myself. I have no control on what jkjones, or Lanaiboy will do.

  265. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:51 pm

Tell you what, don’t worry about them. Just show up yourself.

And if they’re on the outer islands, we have people there who can run the verification. Plus, I have family on Lanai.

It’s a simple and inexpensive process.

  266. Kekoa April 7, 2012 6:56 pm

Ok, playing thru…in answer to your query jmxxxx:

The 1st month of the fb season, September – SailorBlue has confirmed reservations for Cabana A, only because the upper pavillion #5 is STILL not ready.

I plan to become a very constant pain in the okole of the folks who are managing these facilities over the next 5 months. They have never even followed thru on their plans to fix the roofs or install new BBQ grills at the Cabana’s.

  267. Steve April 7, 2012 6:56 pm

ST, so you tell me, how can I vindicate myself if those 2 do not show up?

  268. Steve April 7, 2012 6:57 pm

ST, cause if those 2 do not show up, I do not know how I can vindicate myself without getting the court system involved.

  269. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 6:57 pm

We don’t know they won’t show up.

You guys seem to agree on a lot of things. I’m sure they’ll want to support you. And, if they wish, I can go to their place.

I don’t like the arguing. I’m intent on settling this.

  270. kapakahi April 7, 2012 6:58 pm

On to a more interesting topic….

I couldn’t help but notice how much one-on-one personal attention that Coach Chow spent with Red Raider RB Aofaga Wily. ST must’ve noticed too.

Must be nice for Aofaga Wily to know….without any uncertainty….that he is definitely wanted…..as a Warrior.

  271. cocobean April 7, 2012 7:02 pm

    SKYPE……..

  272. JV April 7, 2012 7:02 pm

So UH men’s volleyball losing 15 of the last 16?? Ouch, are changes gonna be made??

  273. Steve April 7, 2012 7:02 pm

kapakahi – Only thing, according to SportsHawaii, Coach Chow has not offered him a scholarship yet. Hope Coach Chow offers Aofaga Wily a scholarship soon.

  274. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 7:02 pm

    Kapakahi:

Chow spent a lot of one-on-one time with players.

He even found out he was related to one of the state’s top prospects.

  275. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 7:03 pm

    JV:

They’ll be bringing in some players, but now it’s just a matter of some of the young’uns maturing.

  276. Steve April 7, 2012 7:08 pm

ST, to change the subject. Why is it that volleyball players, if they get their release, can play immediately, but in other sports, the player has to sit out a year?

  277. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 7:08 pm

Charlie Wade lost too much talent at the start of the season and is in a very competitive league. He’ll get a pass for this season. Just got to see improvement in passing and team play.

  278. madeinhawaii April 7, 2012 7:12 pm

BTW.. any sign of the Haka?

  279. Bryson April 7, 2012 7:16 pm

    ST,

Was that RGM helping out the team today? Is he a student assistant?

  280. kapakahi April 7, 2012 7:21 pm

    #273. Steve,

Other local Class of 2013 prospects have been offered scholies by UH…..just like Rashaan was offered previously….that were purposely not indicated previously on the SH website.

Sportsbow doesn’t post offer info early on the SH website…..until the word has been made public by Rivals, Scout and/or 24/7 Sports…..since it doesn’t help the Home Team’s recruiting efforts to do so…..in accordance with his qualifying preamble statement.

  281. kapakahi April 7, 2012 7:22 pm

#278, Warriors did a new version of the Haka….after practice.

  282. kapakahi April 7, 2012 7:25 pm

#279, RGM was definitely there….BUT AL was MIA.

Still hoping that Warriors hire former Warrior Richard Torres as a GA. Forgot to mention earlier that Richard attended today….with dad Reggie.

  283. Steve April 7, 2012 7:26 pm

kapakahi, thanks, I knew about some of the other local scholie offers, just did not know about what you stated in your 2nd paragraph.

  284. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 7:27 pm

RGM is helping out. He also works for media relations doing his video shorts.

  285. d1shima April 7, 2012 7:28 pm

    Have a Happy Easter All!

    …be back after Monday afternoon.

  286. JV April 7, 2012 7:29 pm

I hope they get better players at S, OH2 and MB2, those were the problems that I saw when I went to some see them play. Those players are not up to par.

  287. Steve April 7, 2012 7:29 pm

kapakahi, Richard Torres may want to coach with his dad, at Kahuku, maybe.

  288. duffer April 7, 2012 7:30 pm

I find it rather humorous that one blogger wants to use the court system to vindicate himself because someone accused him of having multiple aliases. The “multiple aliases” should be the ones using the courts to vindicate them of being accused of being the other blogger.

What a waste of the courts time!

    OK, I’ll SMU myself.

    ALOHA OE!

  289. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 7:31 pm

    Duffer:

I’ve seen this movie before. I know how it will end.

  290. Guy in the office April 7, 2012 7:41 pm

Yo, Stephen: Thanks for taking control. All this “big-body” drivel really wrecks your blog. And thanks for the recruit info, and mahalo to Kapakahi for the practice reports. I think people want to be informed here, not bored by meaningless “posing” comments.

  291. BleedGreen808 April 7, 2012 7:41 pm

Whoa! Lots of fireworks going off today and it’s not even new years eve or 4th of july, yet. You guys know it’s illegally to light fireworks now a days, right. LOL

Btw, nice seeing two of nicest people you’ll ever meet, sj and myki, at practice today. Heal up sj.

Nice seeing the rest of the boys, also.

  292. ai-eee-soos April 7, 2012 7:42 pm

Welcome aboard, Rashaan Falemalu, a linebacker/tight end at Kahuku High.

  293. bigislandkurt April 7, 2012 7:44 pm

    Good news on R. Falemalu!

    BIK

  294. BleedGreen808 April 7, 2012 7:45 pm

Yeah, baby! Thanks Mr. Falemalu for your commitment to playing for the home team.

  295. kapakahi April 7, 2012 7:46 pm

    #287. Steve,

Talked with Richard before practice….since we’ve become acquainted through various UH football functions over the past year or so. PLUS…we always seemed to bump into each other at One-Plus-One for grinds.

Richard currently looking at possible CFL opportunities….BUT let’s just say that the potential to join UH as a GA would be proposition that he would highly consider…..IF it should ever present itself.

  296. Steve April 7, 2012 7:48 pm

I just hope all these commits honor their commitments no matter how the Warriors play this coming fall.

  297. Steve April 7, 2012 7:54 pm

kapakahi – Hope the CFL opportunities for Richard pan out. If not, a GA position, or coaching with his dad would be other possibilities.

  298. ai-eee-soos April 7, 2012 8:03 pm

  304. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 8:49 pm

I thiink you try to monopolize the blog with things that aren’t particularly interesting, informative or entertaining. I’m sure most people would agree.

  305. Steve April 7, 2012 8:52 pm

Welcome to the Warriors Rashaan Falemalu!

  309. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 9:05 pm

    I’m not flushing anyone.

    I’m not SMU-ing anyone.

    I’m just being honest.

Stretch is one of the most honorable people I know. For him to get pissed takes a lot.

I worked with Guy in the Office for nearly 30 years. He’s smart, witty and patient. For him to speak out is so out of character.

And to have a wonderfully sweet woman like jm2375 chant: Flush, flush, flush, flush.

When three diverse people, whom I greatly respect, come to the same conclusion, well, somebody has to say something.

  310. Bryson April 7, 2012 9:05 pm

So I take it Richard Torres didn’t accept the GA offer from UDUB?

  311. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 9:07 pm

    Bryson:

Torres has GA offers from Washington and Washington State.

He said today he wants to give a shot at trying out for a pro team before accepting those offers.

  312. Bryson April 7, 2012 9:07 pm

Glad I went to practice today It had a Big Time feel to it especially with all the juniors and coaches there…can’t wait for the Warrior Bowl gotta put in for vacation for that day after I finish the one I’m on now…

  313. Bryson April 7, 2012 9:08 pm

Thanks ST,I also hope he gets a shot in the pro’s wether its NFL or CFL…

  314. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 9:10 pm

    Bryson:

He’s going to be involved in football for a long time. He has a sharp football mind. And I love how he’s a self-made player.

  319. papajoe2 April 7, 2012 9:24 pm

Any more Falemalus at Kahuku? Ya’ll welcome here.

  320. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 9:30 pm

    Bryson:

    Defense, I think.

Although there have been some adjustments at TE, maybe he gets a shot there. Reggie Torres said Falemalu has really good hands.

  321. Bryson April 7, 2012 9:52 pm

    Thanks for the info ST…

  322. PowderPuff April 7, 2012 9:56 pm

Hahaha! This is hilarious! I might have to see this for myself Monday afternoon. What a great PR opportunity…we should alert Kim Gennaula she can come and accept the check on Monday.

  323. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 10:00 pm

    PowderPuff:

People tweeted about this already. I might ask one of the coaches to serve as judge.

  324. whitey April 7, 2012 10:04 pm

sheesh, go to the darkside for a few “minutes” and now find out Monday practice is going to be more interesting than today’s practice.

  326. whitey April 7, 2012 10:06 pm

Wooooo hooooo! Game on! I might have to issue a Media Advisory/Photo Op for this one. Stretch has All night Monday to wait for all three guys to join him on your laptop. Next day, we are golfing in the Na Koa Tourney. I can order catering if it gets too late and we can’t all go dinner together.

  334. Steve April 7, 2012 10:50 pm

No ST, I will supply the news person, my close friend Steven Uyehara, oh and I will bringing a lawyer with me, my uncle former Gov. George Ariyoshi, to mediate everything.

  335. al April 7, 2012 10:51 pm

kapakahi…i was at the nbc for easter services with the family including the 88yr old auntie and the 90yr old mommy.

  338. PowderPuff April 7, 2012 10:56 pm

  341. Stretch April 7, 2012 11:00 pm

Uh oh… don’t know what I got myself in to. Steve knows a Steve Uyehara AND the former Governor??!!?? I am some deep kim chee….. I’m not sure I can sleep tonight

PowderPuff, long and close enough to know who is grandmother is, and where she lives, and for how long she has lived there.

Very funny, Stretch, hope you think it is still funny come Monday.

  344. PowderPuff April 7, 2012 11:04 pm

That is super awesome, Steve. Uyehara is a great guy – just be sure it’s on his calendar for Monday evening as he might have daddy duty.

  345. al April 7, 2012 11:10 pm

5:30pm…i just might be able to make that one if hawaiian air is on time.

  346. al April 7, 2012 11:13 pm

  347. al April 7, 2012 11:13 pm

  348. al April 7, 2012 11:16 pm

  349. cocobean April 7, 2012 11:28 pm

poor Steve. If only he could see himself as others see him.

  350. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:33 pm

Cool. Can’t wait to see Ariyoshi. I don’t think he’s been to a practice in years.

Steve Uyehara is our pal, too. I can’t wait to see him. Haven’t seen him since he became a father. This is going to be a great event. Very worthy cause.

  351. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:36 pm

I think Chow was here when Ariyoshi was governor. I’ll let him know he’s coming. Maybe they can set aside some time for him to speak to the team. Sounds like a plan.

  352. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:39 pm

I’ll give Uyehara a call tomorrow. Let him know this is going for a good cause. It would be cool if we could get this on Sunrise.

  353. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:44 pm

I just e-mailed Uyehara and told him you’d be inviting him. This is pretty awesome. I’m excited about meeting these blog guys, too. There are only a few regulars I haven’t met in person.

    Anyway, see you guys Monday.

    Thanks again.

  354. PowderPuff April 7, 2012 11:51 pm

    Uyehara…check.

    Ariyoshi….?

    Gennaula…I got it.

Anyone else? Would jkjones or Lanaiboy care to bring some friends too?

  355. al April 7, 2012 11:53 pm

i thought lanaiboy was bringing ariyoshi?

  356. SteveM April 7, 2012 11:54 pm

….and of course, Robert Kekaula will be attending practice on Monday, won’t he?

  357. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:54 pm

    PP:

    Uh, oh.

Do we have to change the charity to Pali Momi now?

  358. Stephen Tsai April 7, 2012 11:56 pm

Ariyoshi was invited to my wedding. He was friends with my wife’s uncles.

  359. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 12:01 am

Well then, if we do….I can call Linda Jameson too. I think her new position covers only Kapi’olani, but we can find out about Pali Momi.

  360. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 12:03 am

    Thanks, Powder.
