Good ol' days

With all of the gloom and doom of the past several weeks, the Warriors’ fifth-year seniors put into perspective the changes since 2007.

Back then, what remained of Cooke Field’s artificial surface was stripped away, leaving the underpadding that feral cats mistook for a litter box. It was on this surface that Mel deLaura would conduct conditioning drills.

The carpet in the coaches’ offices had the DNA from the Dick Tomey era.

The student-athlete computer room was closed to student-athletes. The training table ran out of food before Colt Brennan signed his last autograph. There was no recruiting coordinator. While the previous compliance guy might  have been thorough, he wasn’t swift. Linebacker Corey Paredes redshirted in 2007 because he wasn’t academically cleared until the middle of the season.

And the players and coaches really did watch tape. All of the coaches’ offices were equipped with VHS machines.

Since then UH has invested a lot of money into improvements. Ching field is now the primary practice facility. There’s ample food at the training table (including omelets on Mondays after victories). With the bridge program, the eligibility of newcomers is settled well before the start of the season. Game plans are now available on iPads and laptops. And, yes, there’s more than enough soap in the locker room.

Brashton Satele, who applied for the NFL draft in 2010 after being denied a medical hardship that would have extended his UH career, has been invited to take part in the senior walk on Saturday.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2009.

    Morning, everyone!

Happy belated birthday wishes to Mrs. Sailor Blue and Mrs. BigHiloFan!!! Hope you had a great day!

Good to see positive changes. More money and support equates to these improvements. Gotta keep it going, gang!

We’re losing a ton of seniors this year. Lots of great, young talent coming in too!

    Go, Warriors! Beat BYU!!!

  9. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 6:57 am

I remember the old days of coaches watching films. Play. Pause. Reverse. Play. Pause. Reverse. Play. Reverse …

I never had as much motion sickness since that ride scene in How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

  10. d1shima December 1, 2011 6:58 am

    😳

    Great Morning All!

Enjoy the ride while it lasts, Seniors.

It goes by fast for players at all levels. But as The Blog Host has mentioned before in the bowl game scenario that FBS has, there are about 35 opportunities to finish on an upnote but in all other divisions only one team has a happy ending.

Here’s a look at one of #2 son’s teammates and his journey thru his Senior season:

    Aiyah! What happened!

  12. A-joe December 1, 2011 7:09 am

Good to read about all the capital improvements made. Sometimes we’re sooo hung up on the wins and losses we miss and glaze over all the good that’s moving the program forward.

    Awesome!

  13. LizKauai (iPad) December 1, 2011 7:20 am

Mahalo for the short walk through memory lane, ST!

There are so many things to be thankful for, this week after Thanksgiving. Life is so much more pleasant when we build from a positive POV.

Another positive- the AD office door is open and the AD is proactive – and Chancellor Hinshaw is clearly visible in her support for UH Athletics.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  14. Kekoa December 1, 2011 7:24 am

d-1 ~ Great family football story. His parents sound very dedicated, like you, your roomie, and others at Linfield. Any chance of ‘Drew’ advancing to the next level?

  15. LizKauai (iPad) December 1, 2011 7:25 am

Looking forward to the Senior Victory Walk on Saturday… Happy that Brashton will be there too!

Lots of families are coming into town.

No matter what form it takes, it will be a special occasion.

    WELCOME, WARRIOR OHANA!!!

  16. papajoe2 December 1, 2011 7:30 am

I read an article in Sports Hawaii. Did UH offer Jeff Sydner’s son a schollie? Sounded like he could be interested. Dad says he is very talented and could be NFL bound in the future.

  17. papajoe2 December 1, 2011 7:33 am

What about Tyler Yates’ son? Maybe not at qb (or not), but at db or eventually lb or even slot.

  18. papajoe2 December 1, 2011 7:45 am

“a luxury many parents miss out on when their child attends college.” On dishima’s post in the last sentence on the 1st page about not being able to see their child play football because of distance. I hope some of the local boys and their parents take that into consideration when deciding to go away for college. Any other college than UH will cost the parents a lot of money to see their child play. Many will have a hard time with that.

    Gee, top 50 or thereabouts.

    Not precisely on point but:

    “To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,

To the last syllable of recorded time;…”

But we are getting there – Ching Field on the drawing boards – finally.

A Joe — yes I did. I have to get back to him as we are going to produce for Kyra a video for her to have a sizzle reel. That little girl is extremely talented. Her starring role as Annie brought tears to my eyes, so my hub will be back in December to shoot her reel so they can send to agents. Kyra is Hollywood material. Never misses a line. Folks all over Hilo love her. We asked a friend of ours to write her a song. His name is John Carney. He is from the Art Carney family. Remember the Honeymooners? Also going to help Jeff get her on Actors access. Kyra has the gift. Not all kids have natural talent. Also calling my cousin Manu Boyd to see if she could sing with Hookena. You should be so proud of her! We love helping our local kids make it in sports, entertainment or anything if they are motivated. Our house is a revolving door in LA to Hawaii people.

I even have my own girls club volleyball team here in Hilo that I sponsor. All poor kids so we will help them so they can go to Vegas in Feb for scouting tournament, so they can go to college. Kids need to go to college. Helping Hawaiian kids is something Don Weir helps with also. We are trying to form a method to help these kids prep for SAT scores ect. G-d blesses those who give. We are so blessed so we give give give.

    You in Hilo?

I saw last night the discussion about reality TV. I work on a Bravo show. But reality TV takes months to produce. And it is for folks like the Kardashians long hard work. Very hard work. Kids would not be able to concentrate as there are so many cameras in their faces 24/7.

  49. Kevin December 1, 2011 9:54 am

You cant return something when it never belonged to them in the first place.

  50. kev-1 December 1, 2011 10:08 am

It is kind of like fooling around with a not so attractive (okay, ugly) man or woman. You enjoy the hook ups and the perks, but you don’t want a committment.

UH wants more from the stadium relationship, but the stadium is too ugly and costly for UH to want it full time.

Some SAT prep sites that offer on-line SAT prep (utilizing on-line random test question generators)

    http://www.number2.com/ (FREE!!!)

    http://www.princetonreview.com/college/sat-test-preparation.aspx

Using school/library computers is a great option to the traditional tutor approach.

Also buying a block of sign-ons is very cost effective.

We have a local source on O’ahu to help fund this for Hawaiian students so let me know and I will make the call.

Small-axe on the SportsHawaii forum mentioned this which kind of hit a nerve…

UH basketball games were at the Blaisdell Center and students showed up, more than now with an on campus facility.

As such, what’s to say we’d get more students coming to football if the stadium was closer to Manoa?

  62. jm2375 December 1, 2011 10:54 am

BTW, if you’re going to the game tonight and coming from the east side, the Kaimuki Christmas parade is tonight. Waialae Ave closed around 6pm…

  63. madeinhawaii December 1, 2011 10:54 am

I’ve always wondered if that “DNA” from the Tomey era was a rubber stamp part of the Head Coach contract and couldn’t be removed.

  64. primo123 December 1, 2011 10:57 am

SOOOOOOOOO sad…………The Warriors drew 2,144 students for the Sept. 3 game against Colorado, but the past three games have managed turnouts of only 456 (Utah State), 353 (Fresno State) and 224 (Tulane)…………..the fans need a on campus stadium like we need more rust on the one in Halawa.

  65. Musashi December 1, 2011 10:58 am

    Hey ST…

Noticed SA had a poll regarding Saturday’s game vs BY-Whoo. The latest results have 46% “not interested” in the game. Sorry, I don’t remember the rest of the results, but for me, I will be there.

For those who are “not interested”, they should not be complaining about the football team on how they team are playing or the coaches, if that cannot or do not want to support the team by coming out to the game or at least watch it on TV.

Hope Graves has a “Rolo moment”, along with the receivers having a “Leile moment” and the defense having a “Pisa moment” this Saturday’s game.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  69. Old School Dave December 1, 2011 11:25 am

Someone on the SA site mentioned that the nature of UH Manoa students is one of being very passive and uninvolved. I would have to agree. Go to most classes there and there’s very little asking of questions or discussion between the students and professors in class. I’ve known professors who were really irked by the lack of participation and dialog in many classes at Manoa. I guess I was kind of a “strange one” back in my days (decades ago) there up at Manoa in that I would ask questions and sometimes question my professors (respectfully). My classmates would look at me like I was from Mars. That kind of personality may be passed on to the lack of interest in football and other activities on campus.

  70. PowderPuff December 1, 2011 11:35 am

Happy 10th Anniversary since the 2001 BYU blowout! Old School Dave – you might be onto something. I see it in general apathy over the last couple of years among young business professionals and not wanting to attend events that require money and/or effort. SAD! Only the FREE drinking events draw the crowds among the young types. I wonder if it’s because of social media? Sometimes I think the proliferation of social media has made people more anti.

But anyway……….good luck to the Wahine tonight. Go all the way, ladies!!!!

  73. Kevin December 1, 2011 11:46 am

I’ve heard stories from student-athletes IRKED at the amount of neglagence and haphazard organization from professors and their assistants.

    Misplacement of exam results….

Constant tardies by the professors to class…

Distinct prejudice between student-athletes and non student-athletes…

  74. Kevin December 1, 2011 11:51 am

Now if you’ll excuse me, I don’t know if I can attend the round 1 and 2 regionals and the football game over the next few days.

Considering my age and the age of people around me, we might be pre-occupied on Facebook and doing controlled substances 24/7.

I just hope that during the massive binge of narcotics we are all able to hang on to our part time fast food jobs.

  75. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 11:53 am

Fun conclusion to practice today. There was a dance-off between Brian Clay and Cecil Doe. Players insist Doe won.

They doused Vaughn Meatoga with a bucket of water, for no apparent reason.

    Ah, good times in Manoa.

  76. Old School Dave December 1, 2011 11:55 am

Hope someone got the dance-off on video.

Enjoy it to the end, Warriors. Leave everything on the field!! No regrets.

  77. kev-1 December 1, 2011 12:03 pm

Don’t let your part time fast food job get in the way of your narcotics consumption. There’s plenty of time for work after college.

  78. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 12:04 pm

    http://www.ksl.com/?sid=18315136&nid=272&title=game-preview-byu-at-hawaii

“What can BYU expect from Hawaii?

Throwing the ball all over the island: This team will spread the defense and throw a lot. A few years ago they were setting records, including Timmy Chang breaking Ty Detmer’s record for career passing yards, among a large number of others recently broken. They are a little less run and shoot than they were, but they still have nearly twice as many passes as runs, 551 to 285. They have lost their senior signal-caller Bryant Moniz to injury and now are relying on a sophomore, David Graves, who will be starting only his second game this season. He won last week against Tulane. The game plan is to simply put up more points than the opponent and do it fast… “

  97. koakane December 1, 2011 12:48 pm

  101. Stretch December 1, 2011 12:52 pm

I guess the Seniors are not going to the volleyball game to support the fellow UH athletes?? Do two wrongs make a right??

  102. LizKauai December 1, 2011 12:55 pm

Let’s not jump to conclusions here… 😳

  103. primo123 December 1, 2011 1:00 pm

vball at 7-730pm….should be done by 930pm….dam kids dont even start partying til 1030-11pm deese days….PLENTY time to go game and party afterward……..

    let go wahine!!!!!! sweep’m!!

  104. Wassup December 1, 2011 1:08 pm

Glad to hear everyone’s partying. Another lack of solid practice and more excuses for bland performance. When will Mack learn his lesson? Hope the guys bring the best game of their careers on Saturday. I hope I’m wrong and have to eat my words but the patterns seems to continue. Remember 2010 Hawaii Bowl? Hello!

Again, I hope I’m wrong, but these practice shananigans like dancing and partying later tonight gives me a bad feeling. Sense of urgency please!

  105. kev-1 December 1, 2011 1:16 pm

I don’t really care about the party. They could use it as a team bonding thing before the game. But Stretch brings up a good point. They should support the Volleyball team too. I remember Colt’s team used to go to the other sports. Saw some of them at a volleyball match once and remember they used to go to a lot of the softball games too.

Eh, guess no need nit pick though. Just come out and play tough.

  106. primo123 December 1, 2011 1:17 pm

BOYZ gotta stay loose to BRING DA HAMMAH on Saturday…230pm……..KRUNCH TIME!

  107. kev-1 December 1, 2011 1:17 pm

Wassup . . . are you questioning the power of dance? (jazz hands, jazz hands)

  108. jojo ® December 1, 2011 1:22 pm

Happy Birthday to the very lovely Slugger!!!

  109. primo123 December 1, 2011 1:24 pm

anyone got a picture of the Slugger?

    happy b-day !

  110. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 1:27 pm

    I think it’s a dinner, not a party.

There’s still time to go to volleyball, especially since there’s a lot of friendship and interaction between the programs.

  111. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 1:28 pm

And the dance competition was held after the practice had ended.

    Sheesh.

    Lighten up, people.

  112. primo123 December 1, 2011 1:30 pm

    everyone’s TIGHT………..big game TONITE……….bigger game SATURDAY…………

  113. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 1:31 pm

Still trying to secure the rights to Slugger’s photo.

Had to work on the JoJo negotiations first.

  114. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 1:36 pm

I’m pretty sure everyone knows the significance of Saturday’s game.

The coaches are coaching for their jobs.

The seniors are playing to delay the start of the rest of their lives.

Coaches are trying to ease the tension. The dinner was planned a long time before the volleyball team was awarded a host’s role.

    Deep breaths, everyone. Deep breaths.

There’s plenty of time to pick apart the bones.

  115. kev-1 December 1, 2011 1:36 pm

Maybe we should dance battle BYU at the 50 yard line before the game

  116. kev-1 December 1, 2011 1:37 pm

ST . . . lighten up? Man, my wife has been telling me to lose weight too.

  117. Curt December 1, 2011 1:37 pm

    Happy Birthday Jojo and Slugger

  120. madeinhawaii December 1, 2011 1:58 pm

When I was in Japan… I gained a bit of weight.. probably due to stress and a wife that didn’t know how to be happy… My wife kept nagging me about my hair loss and about losing weight. In the end, thanks to her constant bickering, I did lose weight.. a lot of it. I divorced her.

I also was able to keep what was left of my hair, too. 😉

  124. papajoe2 December 1, 2011 2:25 pm

Off topic. I just came from watching the movie Descendants starring George Clooney. Great scenery and Hawaiian music. Plenty Gabby, even Sonny Chillingsworth among others almost throughout the movie. This is NOT an action movie, and kind of sad at times, but I would recommend it especially for malahini and our Hawaiians living elsewhere and here.

  125. Hawaiianbod December 1, 2011 2:26 pm

    Happy Birthday jojo!

    Happy Birthday slugger!

  126. maddog50 December 1, 2011 2:32 pm

A poll without participants, a blog comment represents 1 persons thought….these kids have played hard and deserve the respect and support of those who appreciate it….I for one do..so that being said—If I were there I would be in the stadium on Sat. I could care less who comes along or what they think….I am a Hawaii fan and a WARRIOR no matter what!!!!!

I will be in Chicago doing what I do every Sat of the FB season…..living and dying on every snap……just one guy’s thought but it is important……it is positive and it is mine!!!! They will take BYU—–

  127. Stephen Tsai December 1, 2011 2:43 pm

Whoops. Brashton said he graduated in 2009.

  128. Ralph December 1, 2011 2:44 pm

Na Wahine loses to Army 55-51. Close game, stats nearly even except TO and FT. UH hit on 8 of 18 FT. UH needs outside shooters, two starters playing 30+ minutes scored 2 points each. Again, every team we have played took more shots and attempted more 3 pt shots, UH needs to change their offensive scheme- dribbling looks good but points are made by taking shots. Petersen installed a motion offense, somehow they forgot the shooting part. I’m wondering if his motion offense is any different from Nash’s version of Wallace’s Flex motion offense.

  129. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 1, 2011 2:48 pm

$2M+ for Leach…Damn. Even if UHAD wanted him we couldn’t have him.

    Sucks to be indigent.

  130. Claud Sutcliffe December 1, 2011 2:53 pm

You know what? I think they are going to beat BYU! That way, Mo gets to play again (as a Warrior) and Mack keeps his job…

  137. Dan-O December 1, 2011 3:23 pm

#129….that’s what puzzles me about people that think we can get these high profile coaches to come to Hawaii and coach. We simply can’t afford ANY of them….even a million a year would be a joke to them.

  138. primo123 December 1, 2011 3:27 pm

#139 JJ was are only hope…….here on out…..we only going to get a up n comer kind of coach…or coordinator looking to become a head coach……UH aint Penn St…..we gonna scrape the bottom of the barrell looking for some prize fish, before anyone knows their prized.

  139. primo123 December 1, 2011 3:27 pm

    oops..JJ was OUR only hope…

  140. Dan-O December 1, 2011 4:02 pm

#138….there’s a chance we could snag an “up and comer”. A young coach looking to build his resume. But of course, once he leads us to a top 25 ranking and bowl victories, someone else will offer him a ton of money and he’ll be gone.

  141. Loa December 1, 2011 4:10 pm

Mike Sherman fired from Texas A&M. There goes another.

I guess Texas A&M officials don’t buy the “we can’t fire a coach and cause instability since we will be going into a brand new conference” argument.

  167. anklebiters December 1, 2011 5:08 pm

It’s been reported that Kevin Sumlin has been offered the HC job here at ASU…as usual, everyone connected with this is mum. The initial deal is for $2.5M/year and it may have to be increased as others are also seeking his services. Sumlin’s salary at UH is between $1 – $1.2M (with a $1M incentive for staying through the 2012 season) effective through 2015. ASU may have to buy out the rest of his contract – they’ve done this for Dirk Koetter when he was fired before ASU’s participation in the Hawaii Bowl in 2006. They also paid Idaho $100K when Erickson was hired as ASU’s HC.

I also see that Mike Sherman of Texas A&M was let go today and Mike Leach is the HC for WSU. If the Warriors are seeking a new HC, they had better move forward quickly before the musical chairs of unemployed HCs are quickly filled.

  168. al December 1, 2011 5:08 pm

not that it’s a significant reason…however, and perhaps the drinking laws from age 18 to 21 made an impact on student attendance at on campus and off campus venues.

i remember enjoying throwing down a few before the games, during the games, after the games, and much after the games in my day.

therefore, ppv coverage makes for a much cheaper way to drink, yell, drink, scream, drink, cheer, drink, and drink some more a hawaii sporting event.

  169. Shannon December 1, 2011 5:11 pm

thank you for interesting post, it was very useful

  170. al December 1, 2011 5:12 pm

    anklebiters…first off, got chihuahuas?

that being out of the way…that tier of coaching candidates might be a tad out of our reach anyway. as a mid-major we should be looking for affordable mid major coaching candidates.

    get out there.

  171. madeinhawaii December 1, 2011 5:14 pm

They already got the student activiy fee. Gave them a good block of seats. Now we need cardboard cut outs of people sitting to put in those seats (cheaper than trying to round the students up — I think, then go look for other marketing niches.

The problem as I see it is not seeking a new HC but how to pay the new HC.

Of course if we were looking for a new HC that has just lost his job because he had a lousy record, then why bother?

Should we get a new HC that graduated from Punahou, maybe the Punahou M**** could help (just kidding PolyMom).

Then you do have the problem of paying off the old HC.

Or as the Good Book would say – if I should speak with the voice of angels,

    without money, I am nothing.

  179. madeinhawaii December 1, 2011 6:19 pm

Nostalgia…. in 2005, everyone was on JJ’s case.. complaining about a horrible 5-Win season… should we have fired him then? Add to that the Bess and Brennan 2nd chance controversy which resulted in a lot of negativity surrounded the Warriors and JJ.

Colorado State did it this way.

” … Former Colorado State University quarterback Jack Graham has been hired as CSU’s athletic director, replacing Paul Kowalczyk who was fired today.

The school made the announcement in a news release issued shortly before the start of a 1 p.m. news conference. … “

  186. Kevin December 1, 2011 7:05 pm

Interesting… since this is an NCAA event UH cant sell beer and they had to cover up all yhe advertisement banners.

Student section is full. Well over 100. Plenty of students roaming the concourse too. I wonder where they will sit.

  187. scott December 1, 2011 7:17 pm

I thought kkea 1420 was going to air the game. Is this not true or has the game not started yet?

  188. Derek December 1, 2011 7:18 pm

The UH student attendance at UH games is disgraceful. We had more when we were students and going to Honolulu Stadium in the old days (mid 1960s). What happened to school spirit and personal pride. Only high school!!!! The coach should give just one big katoosh. It’s quite unbelievable.

Like I said, a new stadium at the old termite palace will help. Students can easily walk from campus and from the dorms.

  189. Hiflyer December 1, 2011 7:23 pm

scott – the start is delayed due to the first match going five games, teams still doing pregame warm-ups.

  190. PolyMom December 1, 2011 7:25 pm

LMAO..tommui! Like my hub said to me it would not be in the best interest for Mack to take that lump sum payment due to tax consequences. Better to majestic it a three or five year deal. Then like you guys say, the Punahou Magia and the thugs in the cocktail dresses can pull the money together. Deferred compensation is a good thing at his age.

  191. Hilo-Warrior December 1, 2011 7:25 pm

For as much as Honolulu wouldn’t like it. I honestly believe attendance by students would be much better if we had an on campus stadium. Look at Basketball and Volleyball games. They are right there. I have and will always be a fan of an on campus stadium.

  192. PolyMom December 1, 2011 7:26 pm

Better to make it…sorry on the IPad.

Great memories. What fans forget is June Jones had thoughts of quitting long before 2007. He was upset about the booing of Timmy Chang and himself and all the “Fire the Coach” talk. The players are preparing themselves for what may be the most important game of their short college career. This while many fans are attacking the coaches they look up to. Let’s show the players the kind of support they deserve.

Deferred payment… ? Like Pat Hill? From his previous contract, he will start to receive $7,000 a month for 20 years starting in 2013 and another 1000 a month starting in 2014. Doesn’t look like he’ll get many of the incentives from his contract this year, though.

  208. Bowwar December 1, 2011 9:12 pm

194 – very true…JJ had considered quitting for those reasons & he considered his 2007 season as a “redemption”. As I’ve said before we consider firing Mack we should consider firing the LOUSY fans.

  209. bigislandkurt December 1, 2011 9:15 pm

    Happy Birthday Tsaiko sistas.

    BIK

  210. bigislandkurt December 1, 2011 9:18 pm

INSANE $$$ Being tossed around for new coaches. It is my believe that this will all trickle down. For those who complain that 1.2 mil is too much for a football coach, I believe that the going rate for even mid majors like us will still run between $750 and a Mil per year. Especially if you trying to land a coach who will “excite the fan base, increase season ticket sales, and win recruiting battles.”

    BIK

  211. bigislandkurt December 1, 2011 9:21 pm

Me thinks Tony Tuioti will be an excellent college head coach some day.

How can I get in touch with JoJo?

  213. jojo ® December 1, 2011 9:45 pm

    You rang?

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Oh, and Stephen Tsai, thanks for keeping the conversation light. My coworkers were with me in the car & the Bluetooth is thru the stereo speakers!

  214. Mrs. SB December 1, 2011 9:51 pm

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. Special thanks to Brew for the wishes only he provides.

Spending a quiet week on the Friendly Island of Molokai. We’ll be back on Oahu tomorrow afternoon and ready for the Warrior game with BYU on Saturday.

Kekoa-definitely have had a quiet & peaceful visit. Did partake of the local nightlife of going down a dark alley late in the evening to knock at the back door of the bakery to get fresh baked sweetbread.

Picking up a good size order tomorrow morning for transport back to Honolulu.

    See all y’all Saturday.

  215. Slugger December 1, 2011 10:17 pm

    jm2375,

Met your cuz Corey tonight w/ Bluezilla. Had a beer float to celebrate my b-day @ Kona Brewing.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

    GO WAHINE!!!

  216. Slugger December 1, 2011 10:26 pm

Jojo, Mrs. SB, glad to hear you are having a good birthday celebration.

Mahalo for the birthday wishes, erryone.

Watching the WVB replay now. YAY, WAHINE!

  217. jm2375 December 1, 2011 10:31 pm

Congrats to the Wahine!! Nice sweep!! You could see the UNC coach getting more frustrated with each point…

    protector – contact me ASAP.

BIK – some people think everybody high up at UH is overpaid. Guess they don’t understand the concept of “going rate”. Some fool was complaining about the med school and law school deans being very overpaid.

  218. papajoe2 December 1, 2011 10:48 pm

#216 Slugger, I not positive but I think they get good chance to win the replay too.

  219. gmahoney December 1, 2011 10:52 pm

Thanks, JM for the tickets to the VB game. The house was rocking with 8000 crazed Wahine fans. Have fun tomorrow! Go Wahine!

  220. LizKauai (macbook) December 1, 2011 11:03 pm

    Yea for the Wahine!

Caught the end of the match on my ESPN Radio app… love technology.

Mrs. SB, did you get the cinnamon bread too? Ukuleleboi did a gig on Molokai a few years ago and came home with that… WOWOWOW!!!

Looking forward to a great Saturday!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  221. LizKauai (macbook) December 1, 2011 11:04 pm

    gmahoney- glad you’re feeling better!

Harry’s Law… really a great show. Makes one think… football head injury is something to be truly concerned about…

  223. Slugger December 1, 2011 11:48 pm

    ST~

Sorry I missed practice and the dance competition afterwards today. Too much rain this morning.

Cecil Doe plays wonderful keyboard. If you’re ever at a banquet with him and there’s a piano around, he’ll be tickling the ivories.

    K, night all!

  224. madeinhawaii December 1, 2011 11:59 pm

Wahine dominated tonight. There was no question from the git as to who would win tonight’s match.

Watching the vb team dismantle their opponent is like enjoying a refreshing cone of shave ice. It just gets sweeter as you get down to the end. Last night was a real treat.
