RUSTON — Don’t think it’s a coincidence that Louisiana Tech and Hawaii are opening their WAC seasons against each other for the third year in a row (fourth in five years). The WAC probably thinks it’s the best thing to do for its most geographically polar teams.
This is the Warriors’ agenda:
9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. (4:30 a.m.-6 a.m. Hawaii time): Breakfast.
10 a.m.: Wake-up call.
9:30 a.m.-11 a.m.: Pick up game-day gear.
11 a.m. — Meetings.
1:30 p.m.-2 p.m.: Chapel.
2 p.m.-3 p.m.: Pre-game meal.
3 p.m. — Two buses depart hotel in Monroe for stadium.
6 p.m. — Kickoff.
10 p.m. — Buses depart stadium for airport in Monroe.
11 p.m. — Depart Monroe on charter flight to Houston.

MY high school went coed a few years ago, and I was totally against it. But the economic times warranted the change and there has been a big jump in enrollment, allowing for more cash to allow the school to survive and thrive. Your school will still be there, just different. You’ll get used to it.

One week ago we were at Kalapaki Joe’s in Poipu to watch our Warriors light up Aloha Stadium. Little did we know that it would be the last game we would enjoy with Mr. Kymry.
Ke Akua knows what we need and He blessed Gary, who has been battling cancer for many years, with a swift and peaceful transition, surrounded by friends and family for five days before joining the heavenly cheering section.
We pray for the progress of Gary’s soul even as we pray for Kymry and family and his many friends for whom the swift transition has been challenging. Heavenly consolation and Blessings!

Every game this year Rolo has added something that the other team doesn’t have on film. Think this game may be some sort of play action. So far every time the line has shown run blocking, we’ve run. The only play action we’ve shown is off of draws or delays but the blocking was always pass protect.

Pollard is really on fire in this game, great to see! UH’s last TD finally went to him on 3rd down after trying to go to Bright on the first 2 downs…Pollard just cannot be stopped in this game.
Halftime adjustments will be key, but at least UH gets the ball first since La Tech’s coaches messed up. That is like a turnover on their coaching staff.

If ST’s schedule is right and UH is still flying to Houston after the game, I would easily venture to guess they’ll be on the non-stop Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Honolulu tomorrow morning.
Also, the flight from Monroe to Houston is a charter flight, so the plane will be there for the team regardless of what time the game finishes.
24-14 advantage in the 3rd quarter, especially after the bad start, is *huge* progress for UH. Turning the 14 point lead to 24 points is awesome…
This game was one of the scariest games to me on UH’s schedule. Looking at the schedule, this win could set up UH for a similar run as last year. My 12-2 prediction for hwnstln could still come true…I just mixed up the UNLV and La Tech predictions.
UH won the 3rd quarter at Fresno by 11 last year, getting the key road win. UH won the 3rd quarter by 10 in this game and unless things go crazy in the 4th quarter, the momentum from this game will hopefully carry UH through this season.

Sorta. Ideally, UH would charter just one plane that’ll take them from HNL to the road destination….kinda what they were able to do back when Aloha Airlines was still around.
However, UH has flown commercial for the over-water portion ever since Aloha went out of business, and then going by charter the rest of the way. Not ideal, but doing this probably saves UH significant $$$.

All in all, a great game for the warriors. They passing game looked way more crisp, they way it should be. Pollard is receiver #1, made Mo look good on a couple of those passes. O-line play was improved, D played pretty well, although it seems like they let off the gas after those 2 quick Td’s that blew the game open. Alot of questions about this team’s abilities were answered tonight. Undefeated through WAC schedule, definitely seems doable. GO WARRIORS!

DL was conditioned this past week. DL who weren’t on the field were running around during practice.
Redshirt OL and DLs were going at it straight for 6-8 plays at a time.
Great way to go into a bye week. The Warriors can heal, catch up with school, enjoy the win and then put it behind them, and have more than the normal amount of prep time for SJSU.
The perfect time for a bye week is after a big road win before another road game. Having a bye week before a Friday game makes it even that much better.

One would have to believe that at this stage, these folks would have the fundamentals of tackli.ng down pat and fans would not be talking about how sloppy it is.
I believe that a bunch of the yards LaTech got were due to our poor tackling.
Our pass defense towrd the end of the game is spooky. The “let them catch it it front of us” defense was never a favorite.

I liked how Aranda bait the young QB to go long in the 1st half. it is tough to watch a sitting back defense but we took them out of their bread and butter shorter plays and ended up working in our favor. The timely blitz after we baited him all game only makes Aranda look more like a genius. another designed scheme pays off again in a big game. Solid!

Our corners came up big time. And I liked how they used Brown to cover Creer. Isham might have Laurel in his dreams tonight. La Tech has few weapons and UH had them covered for most of the game. Iosefa was a huge surprise. One tough bruddah.

Isn”t it amazing how mental preparation changes the outcome of a game. This road team looked very different from the team that lost in LV. Once it’s done you can’t get it back. The team preparation needs to be as we saw it tonight.
BUT,, special teams need a lot of work. When that is really working (and that includes tackling) the team could possible win out, wnd only see the losses at the beginning as a regret and a what if, which would be just fine as they would have exocised their demons.

I figured it out. The refs in the replay booth were listening to the broadcasters while watching the game. Every time those knucklehead broadcasters get confused on what down it was, the booth refs would call down to the referees on the field and stop play for a review or discussion. Those guys in the booth should just pay attention to the game and not listen to the broadcast portion.
I too was nervous about this game but the Warriors pulled it out. Great win Warriors.

I’m watching the game again and the game is at that “5th down” official review. This really makes the officials look like clowns. I think these guys will not be assigned to any game of significance, or televised event again. They really look like they don’t know what they are doing.

thanks for the info on espn3 the other day, i watched much of the game there today. Looks like the bandwagon is rolling again, warriors play better when underdogs.
Curran wasn’t that impressed by Isham,judging by his comments after the game. I thought Isham was pretty good with 3 td’s and one by running, but with 2 picks. The score would have been like 30-26, if not for the interception by Torres and the fumble return for the TD by Tank. Give Charles Clay credit for causing the fumble.

I think if you have both Ostrowski and Shutter starting next year, the stadium would be packed. Of course, there would be way too many Punahou people in one place at the same time but UH’s bottom line would be the beneficiary.
Iosefa showed some, until now, unknown speed on the option, the outside on the short pass and inside running ability. How did Moniz throw that pass to Stutzmann over the leaping defender and how did he catch that ball with the three defenders next to him.

I picked up Mrs. Momo tonight from the airport…and like a true UH fan she wanted to watch the game instead of go to sleep. We talked all about the game on the drive home and she watched the game after we got home.

There are tons of good tv shows to choose from to say it’s the best. No matter what is said though, there is no doubt that this show ranks in the top 10 of all of them. Yes, there are shows that are a bit older but this one still has charm. There is comedy, humor, and a little politics, easily moving it up to the top. They just don’t make them like this nowadays.
Two things I liked about this game:
-Long ball continued.
-Team backed up and injured player with physicality.
Not sure why we had a guy down, but it looked like a Warrior retaliated physically due to one of our own being hurt and THAT’S A GOOD THING.

If we lost, comment count would be near the 1000 mark with more non-regular names, also see some names we normally see ABSENT all day… not even a ‘congrats’…. SHOWS A LOT HUH????

We drove up from Florida on Friday night and my son actually took his SAT at Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana so that we could make it to the game. We got to the stadium early to get some Cajun style eats but …. nothing. Give me an Aloha Stadium menu any time. Enjoyed being in your blog fan foto too … showed it to my son. Great experience for our first away game. Never went to an away game before.
