Warrior Beat: QB Moussa leaving Warriors
Quarterback Jeremy Moussa has decided to leave the Warriors and transfer to a junior college, head coach Nick Rolovich confirmed to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Moussa, who joined the Warriors as an early admission in January 2018, played in two games in 2018 — a limitation that enabled him to redshirt and still have four seasons of eligibility remaining. He completed four of nine passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Despite having the strongest arm among the UH quarterbacks, Moussa faced a spring semester in which fourth-year junior Cole McDonald and second-year freshman Chevan Cordeiro would be atop the depth chart. Last month, the Warriors signed quarterback Zach Daniel of The Kinkaid School in Houston.
“I think he’s got the ability to be a great quarterback,” Rolovich said of Moussa. “I appreciate his maturity and how he handled the situation. We wish him nothing but the best. He gave us everything he had while he was here, and we hate to see him go. I understand the situation.”

after watching UCF yesterday, I believe Dillion has a great shot at being the starting QB in 2019 as UCF staff stated that McKenzie will use 2019 for a medical red-shirt to rehab his knee
IMHO, it would have made a HUGE difference if Milton was the QB — mannerism was totally different in “reads”, movement, speed, quickness, etc.
it was my impression that his replacement showed very little interest when Milton was talking to him on the ‘bench’ as shown on TV — could be wrong!
most bothersome was UCF play calling — LSU was without it’s starting defensive backs due to injury and 2 getting kicked out of the game — one for targeting and other for throwing a punch in front of a ref — would it not be strategic to pass the ball on 95% of the plays?
how good is the Texas QB?
will UH seek the services of the current St Louis HS QB in 2 years? scholarship offered? or, is QB filling his head with visions of grander to play for a Power5 school?

Mr. A-House – it would have made a huge difference if LSU didn’t have like 8 defensive players out, we’ll never know. But for sure it would have helped to pass more cause Mack can’t throw.

Yup just checked hawaii prep world. So far only hawaii offered de Laura.
Why only a Jr. college for Moussa? If he is as good as suggested, would there not be opportunities available at a smaller DI or DII school?
#14: Correct me if I’m wrong, but if he transferred to another D1 school, he would have to sit out the year and then have 3 to play 3. If he goes to a JC, he could play a year, then still have 3 to play 3 at a D1 school. Maybe Stephen can clarify Moussa’s logic in going the JC route.
One door closes, another door opens. With only 3 scholarship QBs now Rolo has to sign another one in the signing period in February or later by May at the latest. Guys can go down quickly in this business. I’ve seen 2 QBs get hurt in one game so many times, then you’ve got a third string QB left as a starter. That’s not a good situation. In the most important position on the team, you need at least a minimum of 4 QBs on scholarship.
Scott Frost at Nebraska can feel that pain. After Adrian Martinez got hurt, the team struggled because the backup transferred and he was left with a walk-on to fill in. Nebraska started 0-6, but after Martinez returned Nebraska actually played pretty good ball after that and ended up 4-8. Noah Vetral who is actually a very good QB was on scholarship but has to sit out the year after tranferring in from Central Florida. That’s the way it goes. You can never have enough good QBs to fill that positions.
Good luck to Moussa, but would have loved to have him stick around for another year. If he was good and believed in himself

Think about Fullerton, CA, they win national titles.
Moussa wants to play. If he goes to JC, he gets to play, then he gets re-recruited, and signs with an FBS team. He’s too good to play for an FCS team. McDonald and Cordeiro are ahead partly because they’re agile athletes. With a great o-line, Moussa would do OK. Right now, UH needs mobile QBs.

#24 … if true and there was no evidence to charge him with a crime, then maybe the media should have kept its finger off of the trigger finger before it published a story in the news so damaging to someone’s professional reputation? No evidence doesn’t mean there was no crime committed. Unless the media completely made up the “dangerous instrument” part of the report.

Moussa has NFL arm. Maybe he should go FCS route. North Dakota St. Good luck him. He will be missed.
Inevitable. But this sets back the program some in my opinion. A bigger loss than Dru Brown only because Jeremy will make a difference at whatever school he decides to go to. Sad day (for me). So many high hopes for him.
I could see this coming. I thought that he could of been the best of the 3 main quarterbacks but wasnt given a fair chance. I dont know why he couldnt even get in the bowl game when the others couldnt do anything.

Hiram Thompson missed seven games due to injury in the 2010-2011 season, which would have meant playing time for Anthony Salter, who quit after ten games. Salter was better than Bobby Miles. He would have been part of Gib Arnold’s rotation.
One look at next season’s schedule and it is not hard to imagine that one or both quarterbacks could get hurt at some point. One strong performance could elevate Jeremy Moussa to the backup role, or even starter. After all, there is no consensus who Hawaii’s starting QB is going into next season. In my mind, the job is open. If Moussa had to fill-in as starter, or came off the bench in the second half, and led Hawaii to victory at, say, Boise, more than likely he would earn another start. Pass the clipboard to the left hand side.
I wish him the best, but I think there is the potential of him being more than the emergency quarterback.

If Alabama played North Dakota State at their place, the team formerly known as the Fighting Sioux would win. Wait, no… I’m going to be ridiculed. They could beat Tennessee or Arkansas. But The Citadel played the Crimson Red even for a half.
North Dakota State is a “de facto” FBS school. D1 through and through. They would top the MAC and the Sun Belt.
Competitive against big schools just like Lewis & Clark in baseball under Ed Cheff during the Les Murakami era.

Boone Abbott — watching the video — he reminded me of Milton McKenzie — not as fluid, but very, very similar — he is about 2″ taller and get chance to grow a couple of inches more

Milton seems of slighter build than Tua or Mariota. May be more susceptible to injury and he runs quite a lot.
Don’t think Milton’s gonna ever play again anyway.

Why can’t the State just put all of their efforts and resources into renovating (and repairing) the existing Aloha Stadium? Placing a roof over the stands will improve the fan experience (it has lowered the temperatures by some 20 degrees at Hard Rock). Nevah mind building a shopping center, condos, and an amusement park!
