Playing the slots
After a four-day break because of this weekend’s bye, the Warriors resumed practicing this morning.
Dylan Collie, who has started six games this season as part of a double-slot attack, took the No. 1 reps at inside receiver. Kumoku Noa and Davine Tullis also practiced at slotback. Kalakaua Timoteo III and Isaiah Bernard practiced at wideout, although the plan is for them to take slotback reps. UH’s leading receiver, slotback John Ursua, is expected to undergo surgery next week to repair a torn ACL.
Kyle Gallup, who has not practiced this season because of a knee injury, was cleared to work out today. Gallup, who joined UH as a quarterback last year, is now a tight end.

GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
I’d like to see Davine Tullis get on the field…I’ve heard he’s very dynamic, so we just need to get him on the field and let him show us what he can do. Bottom-line, we need playmakers. The OL seems to give the QB enough time, but the receivers are not getting open except for Collie and Ursua. A lot of it has to do with sheer “speed” and the ability to separate.

For those who’re interested in MBB, Ganot just got a third 7′ center commit for 2018.
I have faith that other Warriors will step up for Ursua. Some great names being mentioned for that role. Heal up, skill up and most important, don’t let up, Warriors!!!

On the defensive side of the ball, Hawaii surrendered their fewest points yet this season against San Jose State in the 37-26 victory. But, Suiaunoa says there’s still lots of work to be done and the focus this bye week will be firm fixated on fundamentals and execution.
“We’re giving up too many big plays,” said Suiaunoa.
“Obviously these guys are giving us everything they got but fundamentally we got to be better to where those big plays don’t happen.”
With that in mind, Suiaunoa says the plan for bye week practices will be to emphasize individual work.
“We’ve got the corners working with just corners.. the safeties working with the safeties,” Suiaunoa added. “Not a lot of group stuff, just guys working individually in position groups in terms of fundamental work. Playing with great eyes, great hands, great feet, great hips. All the things that we believe we need to improve to execute better.”

Going on tour to Australia / New Zealand / by Brandi Higa.
(Hawaii Athletics) – The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine basketball team will embark on the program’s first-ever foreign tour in August of 2018 with the Rainbow Wahine Basketball Go The Distance International Tour, a 10-night trip to New Zealand and Australia.
“It just shows the growth of where we started and where we wanted to get to,” Hawai‘i head coach Laura Beeman said of embarking on the program’s first international tour. “Obviously one of our goals was to get to the NCAA Tournament, we’ve done that. Winning our conference, we’ve done that. The next step is to take an international tour where we can compete against high-level international players, experience the different cultures, and use it as a recruiting tool.”
For some Rainbow Wahine, the trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play basketball outside the country and learn first-hand about the Australian and New Zealand cultures. For others, including assistant coach Darron Larsen and three Rainbow Wahine student-athletes, it will be a chance to visit home and compete in front of family and friends.

13. Babers was on Bobby’s show and it seemed he mostly wanted to talk about his time in Hawaii- Carol Kai bed race, Grace’s, chicken cutlet or something, poke , etc.
If Wichita State joins the Mountain West, I want a baseball tournament.
If Wichita St joins the MWC it’s to fill Hawaii’s missing spot in sports other than football. They gave up football a long time ago.

That’s the total offense for SDSU against AF NIU and BSU. There is no plausible reason why our defensive roster can not answer the bell in about a week. At home a week off. It is now time for some players on the roster to ascend to the mentality of “not gonna take it no more”
I still believe they have the talent to win out, it is up to the players to finally play Warrior football-GoWarriors!
