Tuesday/Wednesday check-in; Burns traveling

SORRY, thought this posted Tuesday. updating with Wednedsay stuff

Team has spent a lot of time doing video work, replaying the Cal Poly match quite a few times.
They are scheduled to leave Wednesday afternoon
Williams still isn’t cleared. As has been mentioned previously, injury during last week’s practice.
That then dictates the travel roster. As of today’s practice, they weren’t sure if they were taking Burns or Williams only because they didn’t know if Williams would be cleared by Friday’s match.

UPDATE: Burns will be traveling instead of Williams.

Ran into Lipscomb the other day. Asked if she wanted to talk about what happened. She said there was nothing to say other than she needed to get healthy.
For the time being, she is in school and may play beach, if she’s cleared. but all hinges on her “getting healthy” she said.

Wednesday update
Was expecting the final word on travel roster. AS of 3 p.m. Wednesday, don’t know if it’s Burns or Williams.

Did see that Alfee Reft checked in that he is safe in the Southern California fires.

    Thanks for the update!

Would think it would be a no-brainer to take Burns. She played well against the top team in the league and Williams will have (assuming she is) just cleared and hasn’t practiced for almost a week.

Agree. I like Sky, but I think it should be Burns.

Good news. Really glad to read that Lipscomb is still in school with focus on getting healthy.

Does that mean SL is gonna play beach @UH or she gonna transfer out? Would have love to see her play indoors but hey that’s what’s college is a’bout finding your way… GOOD LUCK Shaney!!

Hang in there Shaney. Be patient and work hard to get your body stronger and ready for the rigors of college sports. Wherever you decide to play get strong in mind, body and spirit then come back and fight for a spot. Wahines will certainly need pin hitters in the coming years.

I don ‘t see Shaney coming back to UH indoor, maybe the beach team as she has the tools to be a better beach player IMO and that’s easier on the body.

and hopefully it wasnt a redeye..was it cindy?

Thanks Cindy regarding the news on Shaney. Even though she did not get on the Court, she still is part of the Wahine Ohana. Wishing her well. Health first. This is wishful thinking, Shaney get well and hope you reconsider and rejoin the Wahine; we definitely need more pin hitters. Mahalo and with ALOHA.

    So, what’s happening with Lipscomb?

Just bought my tickets to see the Wahine and LBSU battle it out on Friday at the rowdy and often hostile Pyramid. If UH fans can get as loud as two weeks ago at Riverside, it will be intense. Robyn said at the beginning of the season that a team has to fail to learn to succeed – it all starts here.

Natasha been playing better than Williams or Howling. All three have alot of upside. Their ability to read the setter/hitters needs time. They are all slow in closing to the pin. Unfortunately, two of them are not ready to handle middle well enough. I am pretty sure thats what is preventing Maglio move to the outside.

    # 12 I’m thinking Burns transfer out after this season. Sad to think that but, the way its going now seems like she ‘s behind Williams and Howling. She could probably find a school where she can start or at least have more playing time. To me it proves that because it took Robyn till the last minute to decide who goes. If Williams was cleared to play i think Burns would stay home again.

A must win for the Wahine tonight. Another loss in the conference will most likely end their hope of advancing to post season play.

Of course, to make it that far, they must still defeat both UCI and Cal Poly on their home court…difficult, but doable, depending on which Wahine team show up to play.

    LET’S GO BOWS.

Hawaii still has a chance to win the Big West. They are going to need to win out and hope someone else beats Cal Poly too.

    2Left,

Brought over 50 people to the Riverside match but I going miss seeing Hawaiʻi take on Long Beach at the Pyramid tonight.

    Go be loud for us.

    4. read the initial post
    7. no. you really need to let it go
    9. read the initial post
    12. Burns played better but you can’t overlook the several net violations as she continues to turn into the net when making a move. She was late on the block and her footwork still needs a lot of work.
    13. we’ll see what happens. they need to have 3 middles.
    14. they can win the Big West even if Cal Poly doesn’t lose to anyone but UH. Should UH defeat the Mustangs and it’s a tie. it’s head-to-head. they’ll got to sets. Hawaii’s loss came in five.
