Allen, Saint Juste prepare for all-star games

Offensive lineman Dejon Allen and running back Diocemy Saint Juste began team workouts today for this Saturday’s all-star games.

Allen is playing in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla. At this morning’s weigh-in, his reach was measured at 33 1/2 inches.

Saint Juste, who has been training in Arizona, arrived in California this past weekend. Saint Juste is playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in the Rose Bowl.

Can you help me reach my goal by making a $25 donation to the UH Foundation Fund I created for UH Football recruiting–see below link.
If 2000 fans do this, we will raise $50,000. So far, I got 295 donors (almost $7400), so only 1708 more to go–each donor spot represents $25.

After donating, text me your name to 415-324-0585 so I can add it below (if you don’t mind):

Ok so now everybody can put to bed any Mike Cavanaugh stories. Looking forward to some interesting hires. If you go to the Scoop/lotsa GA Div III coaches and even HS guys getting impressive positions. Think no matter what Coach Rolovich has positional and personality profiles he wants to add. The first two Batoon and Banker were definitely upgrades experience wise-looking for more of the same on next announcements. Looking especially for someone to “juice up” the OL. Certainly no knock but I’m looking for some physical no stop mouth runnin finger pointers on the OL. Example to live by-Tom Brady never cracks a smile doesn’t jump around as he slices and dices you-just business till business is over-mature focused determined!-GoWarriors!!!

  6. A-House January 15, 2018 10:20 am

guess the “Orangemen” offered a lot more kala than UH could!

OK, now we sit and wait for coaching news and 2018 commits!

  7. Maddog50 January 15, 2018 11:25 am

A House probably not the case at all. Cavanaugh is still being paid by Nebraska through 2019. Example-Mike Riley is getting somewhere around 50K at OSU, Neb is on the hook for 177k a month. He made a career decision, doubt $ played a role. I want people who want us-GoWarriors!!!

Rolo already indicated he would hire coaches after the convention, which ends today.

After the convention is very vague.
    1 day, 1 week, 1 month?
Other school fill entire staff in weeks.
Only in Hawaii can filling pukas take months.

    RIP Keith Jackson
I first fell in love with college football while listening to Lindsay Nelson on Saturdays at my nearby TV store as we never had a tv in our house. When I was in the Army at Ft. Lewis, WA I started following the Huskies and their young announcer, Keith Jackson. One of their chief sponsors was the man from Northwestern, Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in Seattle. 4 years later I actually started my finance career as an adjuster for Northwestern Mutual in Long Beach, having fondly remembered Keith”s down home commercials. He was definitely an influence in my life.

Cav was being paid $450,000 at Nebraska and they are obligated to pay him through Jan 31, 2019. After that, Nebraska does not have to pay him anything and if Syracuse still wants him in 2019, they would pay him better than at UH ( Parker Gabriel,Lincoln Journal Star) .

  11. A-House January 15, 2018 12:30 pm

jeesh, with new coach at Nebraska, Cav can contribute?

any who, if Rolo is not worried about filling his position coaching staff, why am I concerned??

    no reason to!

  12. Da Punchbowl Kid January 15, 2018 12:33 pm

    Git them coaches soon, please!

#3 – Tom Warriornation. I gave, but my name isn’t on the list.

  13. Da Punchbowl Kid January 15, 2018 12:34 pm

Good luck to DSJ and DA – it would be great to see them playing on Sundays!

Scott Frost is living in the past. He doesn’t realize that Central Florida is the better job.

    But it’s his alma mater.

One day, in the distant future(I like Eran Ganot), Phil Handy or Anthony Carter will coach Hawaii hoops, and run the Riley Wallace offense I know you all love.

  15. Old School Dave January 15, 2018 6:30 pm

Best of luck to Dejon and Diocemy. Looking forward to coaching spots being filled at O-line, D-line, and at the WRs positions.

I remember Mike Zimmer when he was the linebackers coach at Weber State under Mike Price back in the 80s. Interesting how some coaches careers progress, coming up from the lower ranks to the D-I or the NFL. Also recall Kenny Niumatalolo paying his dues as a GA at UH, and finally landing a full-time position on Wag’s staff in 1992.

  16. winning January 15, 2018 8:30 pm

whos going to run the O at UH I wonder.

  17. ai-eee-soos January 16, 2018 1:03 am

    OL Coach …

Mark Weber, who has 37 seasons of coaching experience, will be named the University of Hawaii

football team’s offensive line coach, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser has learned.

  18. ai-eee-soos January 16, 2018 1:09 am

Don’ know if this is the guy – sorry if wrong one …

  19. ai-eee-soos January 16, 2018 1:27 am

according to USU faculty salary he was getting 242K.

  20. ai-eee-soos January 16, 2018 1:30 am

again, so solly if this is not the guy.

  21. turfwar January 16, 2018 1:41 am

Nice get by Rolo. How is this guy still available? Stoked he chose to work at UH. No doubt he will be a factor in the recruiting wars.

  22. cappie the dog January 16, 2018 5:04 am

Three Hawaii opponents are undefeated in their respective conferences.

    Nevada
    Utah Valley(WAC)
    Arkansas Pine Bluff(SWAC)

APB is 5-14 and all five wins are conference wins.

Conversely, Howard was bad out of conference and against their own ilk as well.

    1-17(0-4)

    Hawaii’s RPI is 198.

  23. Maddog50 January 16, 2018 5:18 am

Like the new addition to the coaching staff-watched clips of his stint at USU. appears to be a teaching/technique guy. Hope he one of a few who enjoy getting up in the grill when necessary. Welcome Coach Weber! GoWarriors!!!!
