The Warriors learned that a generator, equipment and special tools to fix equipment were stolen from a storage shed next to the grass practice field. By Stephen Tsai on August 12, 2011

With teammates chanting “Heisman! … Heisman!” quarterback Bryant Moniz jumped off the high board at the Duke Kahanamoku pool. Yes, today, was pool day for the Warriors. It was a chance to bond and, for newcomers, to take a leap of faith. Luke Ingram, Jordan Gomes and Corey Paredes perform a three-man back flip: Kawika Ornellas: George Daily-Lyles: Levi Legay: * * * * * In today’s practice: • Center Matagisili Lefiti was on crutches with a strained PCL in […]

Day 7

By Stephen Tsai on August 11, 2011

From today’s scrimmage: • The offense had some big plays — three to be exact. David Graves threw a 61-yard scoring pass to Charles Clay. Cayman Shutter had TD passes of 74 yards to Breyden Torres-Keohokapu and 70 yards to Cecil Doe. • Graves: 6 of 10 for 119 yards, no interceptions. • Shutter: 4 of 10 for 151 yards, no interceptions. • Drew Loftus dropped a sure touchdown pass. But it was encouraging he could get deep. • Dylan […]

Double day; Colonials are pau

By Stephen Tsai on August 10, 2011

This is the first day of double practice. In the morning session: • Right wideout Royce Pollard was absent while taking a final exam. That meant none of the starting receivers practiced. Left wideout Darius Bright still is bothered by a turf toe, and left slotback Billy Ray Stutzmann and right slotback Miah Ostrowski have “tweaked” hamstrings. • Cecil Doe was this morning’s first-team right wideout. • Left cornerback Tank Hopkins suffered a minor ankle injury that did not require […]
