also today from the Big West (just passing it along)
Personally I didn’t see this happen. Did see and hear Mustang duo a bit chippy when playing The Beach at Flt. 1
Others witnessed something when Beach-Poly coaches were a bit animated over a Flight 5 issue. Believe that was over an injury thing.

Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell reprimanded Cal Poly Head Beach Volleyball Coach Todd Rogers for unsportsmanlike behavior at the conference tournament on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Rogers violated Big West sportsmanship bylaws with the use of vulgar language and obscene gestures directed at an opponent during the championship.

“The Big West Conference takes seriously that high standards of sportsmanship from coaches and student-athletes will be upheld at all times,” Farrell said. “The behavior exhibited by Mr. Rogers at the beach volleyball championship was inappropriate and disrespectful. It is my hope that there will be no further issues going forward regarding the conference’s sportsmanship protocol.”

That’s funny. I always just assume it is the Beach being chippy. Like they are “it” when they are clearly not … well, except for the men’s team. They seem to have class when being interviewed.

Congrats to Maglio and Schucht! Quite a season they had. Quite a year for Maglio with an indoor and beach All-America! Well deserved!

Out of curiosity, who is 1st & 2nd with most BVB All-Americans?

Re LBSU and Cal Poly, as Mags would say, as her voice transits up and down a couple of octaves and her eyes dart up and to the right and back, “Just a friend-lee little competition…”

I’m really excited about Cal’s staff and their Hawaii ties!! They’re going to have a great culture among their staff that players are going to play hard for.

Karissa Cook and Katie Spieler made it to the Semifinals of the AVP Austin as the #9 seed. They play at 5:15 AM HT and its streamed on Amazon Prime Video against Lauren Fredrick and UCLA’s Sarah Sponcil.

Cook and Spieler lost their first match of the tournament to Brittany Tiegs and her former FSU parter Jace Pardon. I saw that Laurel Weaver was listed in this tournament but I guess backed out at the last moment.

Weaver, Heather Boyan, and Emily Hartong all lost in the qualifier.
