Stanford should sweep Nebraska, what a choke job by Illinois! Talk about a one dimensional team, Poulter kept going to Quade… A down year overall in women’s volleyball.

Fwiw. She’s smart enough to media toy? / She’s got VB in her blood; fam being Hwn? / I’ll take it, it’s a chance yet again, but displace Castaneda into academics (where she shines).

No.20 (#15 OH in Eugene) Jolie Rasmussen 2019 Sr @6’2″ w repaired 2017-18 ACL, in not as fine a shape as before being hospitalized, she’s still on Insta and twitter.

Twitter was last used to glorify OU in their upset of MN–the first full week of Dec.

Insta has been changed from U of O to “Hawai’i” and “Home” w the Del Mar fair.

Peeps don’t talk yet most of the schools sans a few semester-types like UH make it demanding upon the *STUDENT*-athlete. Family Studies is it? -or- Liberal Arts Pro Concentrate, as a UH major of study? lol

I wonder if Jolie is thinking of coming here and only playing beach. Her ACL injury will probably hamper her big time for indoors but maybe not so much for beach.

Our beach team is loaded with kids from San Diego and she could be amongst friends if she decides to come here since she is from that area.

no offense but I’m tired of the SAME teams always ending up in the championship game. so old and boring. I think the NCAA tournament is a joke tbh.

the one thing i wanna know is about that player whom we are still waiting word on. not sure what her name is, but Cindy i know you said you’d let us know when you found out anything. the fact that we haven’t heard much of anything kinda makes her coming here to play for Hawai’i look like a lost cause. I hope Hawai’i can get some good players in the off season. Don’t know much of how things work in the off season, but I am already excited for next year

#4….someone who is close to the UH volleyball program on volleytalk stated that Hanna Hellvig is a “done deal”. The hold up is trying to get her Swedish HS transcript in line with the one at UH. The sticking point could be English. The poster felt that things will work out because some of the men’s foreign volleyball players who have English as a second language have gone through the same situation and the issue got resolved.

That poster have a good reputation on the forum and have access to many breaking news.

The poster said she will get in. Just a matter of getting things in order. Some things take time so patience is what you need. Hellvig and UH will have the entire spring and summer to ge thing squared away. Plenty of time to dot the “I” and cross the “t”.

#4 I soooooo agree with your first paragraph. Tired of the same schools year after year after year.

I don’t think it is ever boring to watch a great team play. Stanford’s domination of BYU was awesome. The most dominant team the past 12 years has been Penn State with six national championships. I love to watch them but cheer loudly when they get beat.

In a game like this, a game of such magnitude, is where a mid-major team may come up short, because the team they’re facing, inevitably has a superior conference affiliation. Quietly, this is why UConn women’s basketball has come up short the last two seasons. They practically annihilate their conference foes. And I cheer loudly when they get beat.

IMO, the big four are Stanford, Penn State, Nebraska, and Texas. Always up there’s include Minnesota and Wisconsin. Currently there is no other team from the Pac-12 that is in the top 8 more than not. USC was in the early 2000’s and Washington just after that. Both are still ranked but not in the very upper echelon. For USC, Lanier as a junior being just an HM A-A has to be disappointing, considering she was the top or near top HS recruit of her class. Surprised that Torrey Van Winden didn’t make at least third team.

    9. Yes those are the top 6 teams in this era. If we take a look at all 6 teams, they collectively get the ” pick of the litter” in recruiting the nation’s best athletes.
On the other hand, with a fair amount of cream of the crop of athletes going to the Pac 12 it is somewhat disappointing. Especially, USC always getting a Top Recruit only losing her by transfer or the fact that that athlete is not panning out to be the player she was intended to be.
Could it be coaching? Chemistry? or the fact that the girls hasn’t bought into that schools culture?
I still enjoyed watching some phenomenal athletes in the Final Four yesterday. The Libero’s from Stanford and Nebraska were awesome. Stanford, Nebraska, and Illinois all have tremendous OH attackers that are tall and very athletic. Hames, the Nebraska setter is so poised as a Freshman.
I am anxious to see what Hawaii will look like in a few years. We may not be able to get the “Best of the Best” in recruits but I would bet our current coach will and try to find a way to achieve playing at a high level with the athletes she will be able to recruit. Coach Angelica and Coach Robyn are fully aware what it takes to bring a championship home. We may just have to wait til they can get more of the pieces to that puzzle that will get us there.

I think that Torrey van Winden didn’t make third team All American is because she was unable to play in the first round. Had she played , Cal Poly could have beaten both San Diego and USC and then she could have made third team or even second team All American. There were so many other good players to choose from who made the first and second rounds. I’m not shocked or surprised at all.

Since Sam Crosson did not recruit outstanding outside hitters and the ones he has are second or third rated, I don’t think that Cal Poly will win the Big West next year. Torrey can’t do it by herself now that Adlee is graduating. She’ll be in the same position as Lindsey Ruddins, a prolific killer who can rarely carry the whole team on her shoulders. Expect Hawaii to win the Big West next year.

Followed Big 10 volleyball there entire season. Very high level volleyball and exciting to watch. Looking forward to Nebraska playing Stanford. Should be a high level match. Wouldn’t be surprise if Nebraska won.

    4. have said that international players often take longer.
As far as I know there is no change in her commitment.
As for the NCAAs being a joke, I’d say it’s stacked and favors the P5 conferences. When the Pac-12 gets 8 teams and the Big Ten 7, odds are really good that one of those conferences will win the title.
