Mei Ling wins
Mei Ling gets the tickets to tomorrow night’s basketball game. I’ll buy Koakane beer for being a good sport.
* * *
Sorry for the delay, but we went to see the James Bond movie last night. OK, not sure if it’s only me — OK, probably is only me — but Daniel Craig just doesn’t seem like James Bond. And where are the gadgets?
* * *
UH’s calendar will be like The Advertiser’s on-line clock. Tomorrow, the Warriors will have a Tuesday-like practice (8 a.m.-9 a.m.). Tuesday’s practice will be a Wednesday-like practice (7 a.m.-9 a.m.).
I believe Victor Clore returns.
We’ll see about Blaze Soares.

Congratulations jm2375!

Well, it’s an 11 p.m. tipoff.
I hope soccer practice is pau by then.
In CA – there are lots of people simply walking away from their homes and mortgages. There has also been a sudden increase of abandoned recreational boats, etc. Sad….
BTW –

Congratulations to jm237548576138932456… 😀 😯 😆
Aloha Kakahiaka again!
Why do “some” people need half/half for their kope? 😕 🙄 😮
ST- Connery was the best. But Craig is the millennia Bond. We watched Casino Royale yesterday to prep for Solace.
Craig is a wonderful, versatile actor- he got way under my skin of comfort in Infamous. I love him as Bond.
hi brew808- missed you!
Congrats to jm2375!
Off for half n half… bwahahaha@
Good morning to all!! Congratulations to jm2375 on winning the tickets. I don’t think there are too many excuses available. Oh I forgot, I guess sleep will be the most important one, since the game will be on from 11 till about 1:30 a.m. Some of us Tsai-kos are planning to attend. Some of us have no excuse since we don’t work.
Hope to see you all either at todays or tomorrows game.
Have a great day!
PS- with a name like brew and from our Oregon adventures- you should know… 😆
Morning gangees!
Hey ST – I will call you, but please pass da tix to some other deserving Tsaiko. I need my beauty sleep. I no can stay up dat late and be coherent @ work da next morning. Especially since I gotta go to a 3-hr show and tell by the execs. It was hard for me to stay up last night to watch the VB replay.
GO REDSKINS! Beat da, ummm, who dey playing, oh yeah… LASSO DEM COWBOYS!!
(No NFL team has a better fight song than the Redskins!)
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!
I guess it’s a good idea to burn a copy of your mortgage.
And make sure you don’t burn down your house at the same time!
kope…. fresh, strong, … black!
James Bond… Sean Connery!
James Bond women…. Jill St. John! 😀 😯 😆

jm has all dis numbers after her name what would be the significants if her numbers were 8549176320?
Hmmm…
doesn’t look like picking the Bears to upset the Packers was a good idea for my Pigskin Picks.
Off to real Bible study….
Twennysixt!
OK, our winner turned me down. So, we’ll give the tickets to today’s No. 1 poster — Pono.
Please call me in 30 minutes, or we’ll go down to No. 2
Re: #21 – Is that considered an esme or a jojo, or maybe a chawan(aka “lame”), … or shall we just start calling that a jm2375? 😯 😆 🙄
Good morning, again, everyone!
Congratulations jm34409723680450923326235879!
It feels weird having no football game this weekend besides Puns and Saints.
Some want their MTV, I want my Warrior Football.
Nuff said.
d1 . . .
If I remove my glasses everyone looks similar.
And the winning poster is number twennysixt! 😆
If anyone wants to see our newest tsiako “SLIDER” just click on my name
Actually, DPK won on Friday, but left the blog and never called. So we ended up eating Friday’s tickets.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
More beauty rest is not going to help me so I plan on being at the game tomorrow night. Only bad thing is that I will not watch MNF, I’ll come home and take a nap instead. BTW – anyone know if they are going to be selling beer??
For entertainment purposes only….
Does anyone know the line on the huge championship battle between DPK, aka “Tim the Terror”, versus las vegas, aka “Super Shaka Sumotori” scheduled for Feb? 🙄 😯 😆
Curveball – he’s so cute and looks like an angel! 😀
ST – best bond is Sean Connery, followed by Pierce Brosnan. Just don’t ask either of them to sing.
At least get UH Hoops on da tube… Anybody know who’s favored?
DPK is no longer allowed to win
wafan some may say thats not a bad thing
Wait – is someone calling DPK a …. loser? 😯 🙄 😀
I nevah win on friday. How can??? I wasn’t even close.
It wouldn’t be the first time, Brew. 😆
ST, I will defer to the number 2 post. I live in the mainland so due to logistical problems would not be able to watch the game.
wafan – Some say lots of green-bottle refreshment also works…. or, maybe something stronger…. 😀 😯 😆
DPK – Never here on the WB!!! We’re all Tsaikos!….. Group HUG!!! 😀 😯 🙄
congrats to you grampa curveball and to mom.

Koakane – eh no tease if no can back it up! 🙄
*DPK wipes the spittle off his chops and composes himself*
So where is Big Hilo these days anyway?
Oh nooooooo…. Why are the ‘phins struggling against the lowly Raidas? 😈
Hey – maybe the tix should be offered to DPK? We could see what HIS excuse would be …. TODAY! And, we could include dinner w/ chawan & Jason. 😀 😯 😆
wow lau lau dpk need to take your meds and calm down or going to have to send kahuna lapa ‘au from the ceded lands to you.
st betta send him his yesterday tics if he wants it so bad.
going for my next pot of kofe now.
spittle? I thought that was rain…. Ewwwwwwwwww! 😯
Raidas miss the FG! 😀
jm you know I luvs you more than my luggage 😆
koakane – Black, or diluted with girlie half/half? Okay, the only additives should be more kope, or some booze.
Wow – Houston can score quickly! 😀 😯 🙄
Go FISHIES! Gotta keep da playoff hopes alive!
I hate to see grown “men” cry. Can everyone who posted from #1 to 25 please pass on the tickets so DPK can be a winner for once in his life??!!?? Mahalo
Huge hole up the middle! Good work by Samson and OL mates. TD by the ‘phins! 14-5! 😀 😯 😆
OK. DPK gets the tickets.
brew808 you on it my man. thats my take black bold kofe strong den lattas come the beeru. of course some fuuud now and den good too.
wow – DPK IS a winner
Repeating what Stretch said – Yeah! DPK is the
whinerwinner! 😯 😆 😯Nah nah gangeez!
I can’t use the tickets. I just like havin’ an excuse to grumble and make trouble. I actually have some work I have to do today as well. I’ll prolly look in on the game on while I’m workin. Thanks for bein’ so nice to a trouble maker like me… 😳
Good Morning Tsaikos and Tsaikettes!
Curveball-
Congrats on the new grandson! “Slider”…cool blog name.
And btw, that is one humungous marlin.
ST-
I never really kept up with the previous James Bonds. But I like this new Bond. Really enjoyed Casino Royale. Haven’t seen new movie yet.
And Transporter3 coming out this month, too.
hey brew – we have a new saying, a “DPK” = all mouth
DPK = flush sound….
Hiya Addahknowsports!!! 😀 😯 😆
👿 dpk wassah matta you
brew now you know
Hey las vegas – I guess that big match in Feb. with “you-know-who” is off. “flush sound”…. 🙄 😈 😡
ST: Nah – Connery is the best Bond and I liked Pierce Brosnan – extremely urbane.
bet the house on LV, DPK will not even show up
OK, da Ravens are making da game interesting. Giants need to lose.
Dayum. nvm. I give up. Just gotta wait for the ‘Skins to beat da Giants.
Hey, how come ST neva go karaoke last night? What wuz his excuse? I thought da lion was sleeping last night? 😀
Hey chawan – you may have to give up your claim to lame….
The US Postal service has that saying, “Neither Wind, Nor Rain, Nor Snow…”
We now have the new term DPK means spittle, bluster, but no delivery…. 😈 🙄 😯
kden
st going back to being fair if you continuing down the line hoohiki was next.
Hiya Brew! Missed ya!
How about ST just give away the ticket to the first person who SAYS (honestly) that they want it.
The game is at 11 p.m.
What kind of work does DPK do at 11 p.m.?
Well, if anybody wants the tickets, just let me know.
Wait – didn’t the #2 poster also decline…. knoakanegoeda? 😯 😆 🙄
Hey, I just got off the phone with Rich.
Rest assured, his house hasn’t been affected by one of the many fires raging in Cali right now. He asked about Ronnie folks though.
Rich’s place is about 7 or 8 miles from the nearest fire and he thinks they’ll be okay.
Keep the prayers coming for he, Ronnie and the Docs.
OK, Koakane gets the tickets. I forgot he was next in line. I was distracted by DPK’s whining.
What game are you talking about, Tsai? Isn’t it the BBall game at 5 PM today?
The only work I do at 11PM is workin’ hard at tryin’ not to fall asleep before the end of Letterman of Leno.
We now have the new term DPK means spittle, bluster, but no delivery….
________________________________________________
It wouldn’t be the first time for that either… 😆
No – #2 wussed out too! 😆
Yeah – I’m worried about Ronnie & her boys – the YL fire was right in her neighborhood and she hasn’t posted since last night… 😕 😯 😕
DPK = all mouth W/ excuses
It’s nationally televised, so DPK could have held up a sign saying: Buy my book.
Oh, wait, didn’t we have a blogger who used to do that?
Yes, the game is TOMORROW at 11 P.M.
Hey – I didn’t see. Does Samson snap on PAT’s too? Looks like the ‘phins will beat daaaaaa Raidaaaaas, 17-15! YEAH! 😀 😯 😆
Anyway, I’ve got to run — literally — so I’ll be back in about an hour.
Unless I pass out in front of the A-House house.
So, DPK and Koakane can work out who gets the prize.
Let me check the calendar, is it April 1st??
Tsai,
Please give the tickets to Stretchu-san. He has lots of energy at 11 pm.
DPK – thanks for the offer, but I already HAVE tickets and WILL be at the game. Mahalo
Stretch – Did you ever get your beeru question answered?
It looks like lovely weather in Pittsburg. 😯 😆 🙄
brew – I was just wondering but don’t think I will be drinking at 11pm if I have to wake up at 4am for work.
OK gang, just looked outside and ST is no where in sight which means that he did run past our house and down the hill to his house and points beyond.
ST, that’s a tough hill to run up. First time I did that I thought I was going to pass out!
hoohiki you next in line if you want it. the tics are yours
looks like brew8o8 way past kope now or either he using more than half and half in his brew.
Stretch – exploits the talk!
Sometimes expounds it with squalk.
DELIVERS the walk! 😀
…squawk…. 😳
koakane – I’m still here. About to see if there’s any improvement with the Niners vs. the lambs…. 😯 🙄 😕
checking out for a while you all have a good day
jm see my post # 56
whooosh esmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
au’wryte brew808 but no games that holds my interest right now so going put gas at Costco. heard its $2.40 a gallon now

“luggage”….isn’t that a type of ….. bag? 🙄 😕 😆
Musical Tickets seems to be the game du jour.
ST ~
I’ll take a ticket cuz I was planning to go to the game. But how do I get them from you? I thot it was a free game anyway… Was I just dreamin’? I’ll check the website. I’m “going places” today, so need to know if I got da tix. Mahalo nui loa if so….
curveball,
Cute kiddo! Maybe he’ll grow up to be a left-handed pitcher.
Thank goodness as MeiLing comes to the rescue…. 😀
ST ~
Oh, I figahed it out…Monday’s game is free for UH students. That’s how it should be. K, I’ll take the tix if no one else wants ’em. I drink kope with half ‘n half and will stay up for the game. You know, in China, they don’t have half ‘n half at Starbucks, but they do have complimentary soy milk instead.
Throw in a pot of fresh black kope with the tix and seal the deal.
MeiLing-
If you get the tix, your name will be headlining the blog.
Aloha to all the Tsaiko brothers and sisters!
Still hoping for the best for Ronnie’s house…good to know she’s safe in Orange? County.
Was talking to a buddy in Alaska this morning and he mentioned that his class reunion was being planned for the UNLV game next year. I asked him for the organizers’ email so we could contact them to see if they wanted to join us at the tailgate and game. When I hung up, I realized there was a certain irony in talking to someone in Alaska about a Big Island (where has BHF2 been?) reunion that’s taking place in Las Vegas.
BTW, I think he mentioned that the organizer was the guy who runs the beef jerky place next to the Fremont.
My friend also told me that he was having difficulty sending salmon back to Hawaii (my ears immediately snapped to attention) what with the economy, restructuring of airlines, and what-not. I told him that I’d look into jumping on a C-17 to go pick up the fish…for a small fee, of course! Can you say, “More lomi salmon please, Mr Kekoa!”.
Hopefully there’s no melamine in soy milk…. 🙄 😯 😀
Hey! Bruddah Koakane!
When you get back from getting gassed at Costco (yuk yuk), read this post and know that your Cincy tix are safely in hand.
Kona kope, UH football, basketball, volleyball, hula, da six F’s…what more could you ask for…
Great to meet Bulla & Lyn last night. IWWTHM has a wonderful voice; smooth sounds, guy. Keep croonin’ to your honey, Midnight. SteveM, thanks for organizing.
ST ~ I’ll send you an email. Gonna go to the basketball game this afternoon.
brew808,
That thot crossed my mind, too, since I was there in 2007 before the story broke this year. Yuck! I used to make my own soymilk & tofu in the Ozarks, but I think I have a ready supply here in Hawai’i nei. Buy local!
K, Esme & out… Hmmmm… I’ll call ST.
http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=281116015
Davonne Bess had a pretty good game for the Dolphins today. He had the second most receptions and the MOST receiving yards for the Dolphins today. He also had the longest reception of the day for Miami.
Just got back from eating and getting gas (HA!) at Costco. Price is down to $2.09/gal. I figure below $2 in a couple of weeks. Figure it will be back about $4 by next summer. Too strange.
Looks like the SeaFlounders are keeping their tradition of mediocrity alive.
Something to think about. All those “fans” who say the Warriors are bad and do not score enough, and whatever else they “know” might want to consider this. Should the SeaFlounders not score in their game, the combined score for the UW, WSU and the SeaFlounders is only SEVEN more points than the Warriors who did not even play this weekend.
Now, how bad are the Warriors?
let’s vote
DPK = spittle, bluster, but no delivery
DPK = all mouth
DPK = all mouth w/ excuses
DPK = bu lai
All of the above.
Besides, the tix are going to the very worthy Mei Ling. Alls well that ends well. 😉
Whoa…the sun’s out. Good morning (?) everyone…
Gotta review my pix of last night to see if I have anything suitable. But we definitely reached a new Karaoke plateau. I think we have all been to places with no dance floor where the band/entertainers are so “rocking and enthralling”, people are dancing in the aisles…usually those young 25-35 year olds.
Not only did we raise the dancing age average considerably, we were the ones doing the entertainment too. Impressive singers we got!
…and if you think Bulla was rockin’ last night, wait till I talk to Mrs. Bulla about planning his karaoke birthday party… 😛 😆
The Japanese singers who joined us (Genji regulars) were pretty good and the waitress was excellent, but James and I are were nodding, “Wait until las vegas gets here”… 🙂
Secret’s out… Bulla is actually a baritone and a good one. Iwonderwhytheyhateme is very good and bilingual. Midnight showed more of his excellent repertoire. Welcome new karaoke Tsai-kos Russ and Pam! Whew, mix those two and the Bulla’s together and the you see the definition of “rockin” !
Liz, jm, and Tom are right: Connery is the best Bond, suave but tough. The others were suave but, eh, not so tough. I’m still waiting for Uma Thurman to squeeze into that catsuit for another Avengers remake.
Geez, six days until the next game. Feels like I haven’t seen them in months…
Mei Ling is the final, final winner of the tickets.
So sorry about missing last night. But I was sleeping through a Bond movie. Yes, yes. I admit it. I’m an old fut who actually fell asleep watching it, and it was the 8:45 showing. But I have two excuses: 1) We were in the third row, and Ward has really comfortable reclining seats. 2) I’m an old fut.
Mike:
Don’t forget basketball practice is at 2 p.m. It’s going to run for a couple of hours. The varsity coaches stole our two best post players, so we’re going to have to make like the (Golden State) Warriors of the mid-90s and run with the guards.
Hey, don’t forget that Run-TMC had Hawai‘i ties.
UH had a chance to get Mitch Richmond (Reggie Cross’ friend).
And Tim Hardaway used to play in the WAC.
And Chris Mullen ran a basketball camp here.
Good Sunday to All:
I just spoke with Ronnie and all is well with her home and family. They tried to return this morning, but were turned away. She is confident that they’ll be able to return tonight. Funny thing, Ian’s school is closed tomorrow and Arron’s is open. Their schools are close. Hmm…..
Fires are north, east, and south of me. Saw a small fire yesterday to the west, but it was quickly extinguished. We are in NO danger.
Okay, gotta get some stuff done before the ‘skins & ‘boys later….
Gas was 2.09 at costco?
I filled up at 7 am and it was still 2.40
They gotta ban the left turn gas line cutters.
bb – wafan lives in Seattle.
now i feel like an idiot…
speaking of which, now im debating whether i go to WSU in Seattle or UNLV the next week…
Rich2176,
Thanks for the good news!
Hey! I’m a good sport!
….and I can write about sports good, too (kind of…for an amateur)
Stephen,
Sent a cc: to you. Can you please help get some of it published? Thanks!
Thank goodness for the Rams!
bb spent 15 min just trying to get into costco lot then another 20 to get gas
Any one making plans to attent the WSU and UNLV games next September?
Can the “host” Tsaikos in/around the Seattle area provide input in where’s the best place and time to hold a tailgate or cattle call?
Will presume that the game will start in the early afternoon or evening.
ST,
I think Clive Owen would make a very good James Bond???..but again, that’s only my thought.
I was pleased with Davon Bess’ performance today as well…he’s getting more playing time I guess; the commentator mentioned that Bess forte’ was his break away moves over the middle.

You got any thoughts on who might make a good James Bond?
heheheh

heheheh
mctruck . . .
What did you say?
A-House . . .
Let me speak with Izzy and see what can be done.
LD808 . . .
Are you still around?
does anyone know all the actors that played James Bond?
1. Sean Connery
2. Roger Moore
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. ?
5. Daniel Criag
Hmm, interesting link:
http://newsok.com/ou-osu-football-struggling-to-fill-seats/article/3322529
Compare that to UH’s student section, which is … Disappointing. Atrocious. Embarrassing.
David Niven in Casino Royale.
Peter Sellers in the spoof of Casino Royale.
HiFlyer,
the worse bond of all time… Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights
wafan,
I heard gas at costco over here is under $2. It might even be under $1.90 since the regular gas stations are about that right now.
djmitcho
Agree, IIRC that’s why he only starred in one movie as JB.
Even though Colt is not going to play, the Redskins versus Cowboys will be shown on NBC. Maybe can catch a glimpse of him on the sidelines. If not, at least you can watch the Cowboys take care of the Redskins (for Rob25).
Stretch – how dare you! grrr. 😈 and here I thought us UHSers had to stick together.
Time for the massacre in DC – Skins rout Cowgirls!
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
Which performance of “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night”?
pink?

😀 😀 😀 😀
jm2375:
you tell em girl. who knows one day he is going to come in and dazzel them..
jm2375 – okay you got it, I’ll cheer w/ you but it’s strictly business.
Stretch – I thought it was for *entertainment purposes only*.
Int Redskins!
Where’s Liz?
jm2375 – oh yeah, for entertainment only. I hope the Redskins can entertain me.
jm2375 – oh yeah, for entertainment only. I hope the Redskins can entertain me.
As long as Marion Barber gains many yards and scores many TDs, I shall be happy. 😀
Jason,
Hopefully the ‘skins can keep Barber out of the endzone!
Now, now, I don’t like your kind of thinking, there. 😀
well, so much for keeping Barber out of the end zone
I understand there’s a question on when Blazes’ eligibility clock started so it may be that he’ll have two years left after this year. Does anyone know if he’s able to redshirt this year and possibly have three years after this year?
Hey, I’m only holding on to a 29 point lead now.
what?
i didn’t win the tickets?
what will i tell the boss now?
tell the boss that Stretch will give you two tickets for the game. See you there!!
psssst.
if you didn’t know………sears will be re-open from 6 pm to 9 pm. minimally the discounts will be 10 % off. one night only. they say you can purchase on sears.com as well from 6 pm to 6 am.
OK, it’s half, gonna go pick up my dinner now…some duck noodle soup.
See you guys later.
she said no going to the darkside after.
al – no problem, i will need to come home sleep for 2 hours before heading back to the airport
Reminder, UH Bball on tv right now
UH-Cal State Fullerton game to be tipping off shortly.
I wonder if we see Rod Flem getting the ball more on the blocks tonight instead of top of the key?
wafan:
Thanks for the help.
Know of any lodging, comfortable/inexpensive, near Qwest Field?
This is going to be a long trip and need to save most $$$ for Vegas.
BBall game on, same ol so far…ineffective offense, turnovers…
Roderick Fleming being more aggresive to the basket which is good to see…
Parghalava needs to stop handling the ball his handle is garbage, needs to come off screens and pop shots…
I hate the flex/motion offense it’s seems so slow developing like molasses…
I need to see our slim jim bigs bang down low they are so frikkin weak!
Grrr…this basketball game is as irritating to watch as the first one.
I see why Nitoto cannot get any assist, cause our other guys can’t score when they get the ball. Aside from Flemings nobody else can create a shot. The movement without the ball sucks too much standing around and the bigs not fighting for position down low…too weak. As big as Balocka is he should be bangin down low! I think Nitoto and Flemings should play a two man game, and Parghalava needs to come off some screens to get looks. Amis and Balocka I dunno they aren’t doing it…
Coach Nash needs to run an offense that better suits the players we have…this offense is stagnant!
Nitoto needs to keep slashing to the basket and take control – good things will happen if he can kick it out or dump off
Redskins..that last play was so stupid..throw it 2 yards short of the first down on a 4th down play..then dont catch it..asaaaaahhhhhhh
curveball – i gotta agree. play calling is driving me nutzzz.
jm – i am NOT being entertained by YOUR team
Redskins game still not pau yet???
Grrr…why the frikk is Parghalava handling the ball he has NO HANDLE HIS HANDLE IS GARBAGE AND SUSPECT!!! C’mon Coach Nash give Nitoto the ball!!!
oh shnap Ji Xiang in the game…
Neither am I, Stretch. Neither am I.
1st half…
14 turnovers
Sloppy play too many turnovers…Parghalava cannot handle the ball for crap…his decision making sucks…needs to just come off screens and shoot the dayum ball. Plays hard, yet dumb!
Offense stagnant, Nitoto needs to drive and dish more. Flemings needs to stay in attack mode all night. Ball needs to move more on offense, they seem too tentative passing the ball allowing the defense to cheat into the passing lanes.
UH should be killing this team although that Akognon dude is lights out…that guys bombs from everywhere!
UH outrebounding 26-14…is nice
Defense needs to lock down, Nitoto needs to stick like glue to Akognon
just too many turnovers
someone needs to step up
still looks they do not play well together.
Why is the Warriors’ practice schedule one day ahead of their regular schedule? Do they play on Friday? I thought the game is this Saturday.
I am confused, I think.
Parghalava reminds me a lot of Matt Gibson in his uncontrolled, frantic style of play. Which gives me hope, cause we all know how Matt really matured and developed into a good player. But right now, he’s irritating the heck out of me. I think his ball-handling skills are actually pretty decent, it’s just that his head isn’t in the game.
I can understand the emphasis on passing for assists, but sometimes, the players just need to take it to the basket and go for the bucket themselves. A good number of those turnovers were off attempts at “pretty” passes.
What, Parghalava’s handles are suspect…he’s the leading cause of most of the turnovers
Hope to see a zone in the 2nd half and back to full court pressure. There is no way to defend Akognon man to man. hard to double team up top. If he is going to beat us from the zone we have to live with it.. – But I think he shot his wad. we should have this game…
Gibson is way better than Parghalava will ever be…Lasha can shoot and run around with his head cut off but thats about it from what I’ve seen so far of him…
Fleming is awesome I love this guy!
Rod Flem- shades of Erin Galloway mixed with Clarence “Pop” Dickerson
Can somebody play some dayum defense…Balocka standing around again…he is a big block of crap!
Fleming reminds me a little of Shawn Marion without the ugly shot…
Wafan:
The Warriors decided to have a real practice tomorrow because they rested enough last week.
OMG Parghlava is retarded!!!
Parghalava shades of Gavin Smith
Hello idiots you can’t score against a zone unless you attack it…so stupid playing hot potato around the perimeter like jackarses!!!
Jeez, Akognon scoring all night how about playing a Diamond and One and deny him the frikkin ball Nash???
Hey Pauoa Boy – when you have your own team, you can coach the players the way you want.
Parghalava needs to get checked for retardation he has made so many bonehead plays tonight!
#205,
Bite me…
Any Coach knows if one player is constantly killing you take him out of the game by denying him the ball…DUH!!!
I heard you were thinking about trying out for the football team, why don’t you also come out and play for our basketball team. You can be a player/coach.
Maybe I will fake arse Coach Nash…
BBall team didn’t look so good again tonight and Akognon kicked our butts. I think the crowd will be a lot less than if they had won or at least made it a closer game.
From the other days blog comments:
“Deseret News is calling for Utah State’s Brent Guy to be fired. Apparently he’s going to be fired even if Utah State wins the rest of their games.”
It’s OFFICIAL. Brent Guy was fired today as our coach.
http://www.sltrib.com/ci_11000850
We lost the lead in the Louisiana Tech game and let the game slip away at the end like Fresno State. Typical playcalling and coaching errors.
On a personal level, I feel for him since you don’t want to see anyone fired plus he was a very likeable person. But as a head coach, he could not get the job done and one more year was not going to change anything.
Some are meant to be coordinators and don’t do as well as a head coach. Guy is one of those since he was a great defensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, Boise State, and Arizona State and that is probably what he needs to go back to doing.

I wonder if a deal can be completed by the time UH plays UNLV next year??!!??
wafan and d1,
dat’s too funny guys….sorry for the delayed response, I just qued in to see what’s new before hitting the sack as they say…..laters!!!
Didn’t see it, but that Redskins game sure _sounded_ disappointing. A low-scoring offense will have a hard time gettin’ in done in the NFL. Maybe Zorn should think about adding a couple of former Hawaii WRs (say, RGM and Rivers) for fall camp this year to complement Santana Moss?
Parghalava takes a long A$$ three that of course rims out…
Then he takes another three that gets swatted into the stands…
Retarded, dumb, stupid…you name it…
In my section there was a ton of people that said “WTF???” another person said, “He wouldn’t hit the water if he fell off the Superferry” and some juiced up student 2 rows below–“Put in Funaki already!”
Stretch,
How did I know that you’d see that article?
How did you know that I would, too! 😉
OK, I’m confused (as usual). Went to Big City Diner for dinner and watched ESPN. There’s no advertising for the so-called BB marathon. I just checked the website and I don’t see anything about this. WTF?? So who else is playing and when? Is the UH game the last game? If not, who plays the 6am EST game?
Info on the marathon:

Brent Guy Is Gone!,
Thank you for the update. I wouldn’t have seen that until my once-per-day web sweep tomorrow. I guess Utah State will start over and I hope that they choose well. If the new coach struggles I can see attendance dipping even further and staying below D-IA required levels…UH and the WAC needs for teams like Utah State to improve!
I missed the 60 Minutes interview with Pres.-elect Obama where he called for a playoff in D-IA football. It will be interesting to see if things can be set into motion with the pressure he can exert. Just bringing more attention to the issue is a good thing, as it gets people talking. However, an 8-team playoff may not include many (if any) non-BCS teams, which wouldn’t be ideal for UH.
Tomorrow I’ll be off blog for basically all day. I will not have a computer with me when I attend the MILCOM conference tomorrow from 7am until 10pm…so, I’ll do the sweep for articles late tomorrow night.

This article is for Rich, who I know has a very impressive bowling average. If I remember correctly, he is still searching for that 300 game. When that occurs, I hope that he’s not like this guy! This guy spent 45 years on the same bowling team, finally bowled a 300 game, high-fived everyone…and then died.
Garret – #230 ewwwwww!! Let’s just say most nudists are not centerfold material.
Re #228 – To everyone – make sure you know what you’re being prescribed and what’s it’s typically used for. Make sure you’re clear BEFORE you leave the doctor’s office and then ask the pharmacist ALSO!! Above all, do not take antibiotics for a viral infection. All experts believe that this practice has lead to the emergence of “super” bacteria.
BTW – there’s still time to get a flu shot!!
Ack, I just lost my entire post! I guess I need to re-type it. 🙁
Pauoa Boy: I still think your assessment of Parghalava is premature. Yeah, he’s making bone-headed plays, and I don’t think anyone should be tolerant of that. But I also see why he was recruited to play here. He’s high-energy, moves without the ball, has a quick release. In those ways, he’s a lot like Matt Gibson in style. And like Gibson was early in his career, Parghalava is very raw and undisciplined too. So yes, he’ll need to work on those things, but I have hope for him too. By the end of his career, Matt turned into a great team player, a leader, and a fan favorite. Even though he has one less year than Matt, I’m still hopeful that Parghalava will grow similarly to become a good player.
And while I’d prefer that we’d be 2-0, obviously, we also have to remember that this is the “pre-season.” What really matters is WAC play, and so I like the idea of getting players on the court, see what they can do. In that sense, I have some hope. Flemings has shown flashes of stardom, and I really like Adams’ athletic ability. Nitoto has matured very nicely — still a ways to go, but a lot better than last year. And if Thompson gets healthy soon, I like the “problem” of having to choose between the two point guards. I wish Amis were a little stronger, but his physical abilities are serviceable, and he has a developing skill set; I don’t think he’ll be as big a factor as we thought entering this season, but he’ll have an impact. I like that Balocka is strong, yet moves deceptively well for such a stocky guy; he plays exactly as the scouting reports I read said he’s play, which I really like. Parghalava has potential, but he needs to get his head together and play with discipline in order to be effective. I do wish that Campbell and Mayen had gotten stronger this off-season, I’m a little disappointed in that. I really like their potential, but they gotta be able to hold their point better if they want to play in the WAC.
tonight’s game was frustrating. i’ll just leave it at that.
anyways, here’s how our football opponents are doing. i have been keeping track of their games and schedules. it helps to see how they did against their competition and against us.

I like Prag too. If I’m coach Nash I’d let him shoot as much as he wants. we are going to need him down the stretch. But for the next few games I’d like to see him come off the bench and play more against the 2nd team. I like Lutu more than I like Prag thus far and would like to see him start and take his bruises before the wac season. For a walk-on he is going to be a tremendous player.
What i dont like is that we dont have a true point guard, no true post player, no pure shooter (well Prag) and so far no leader. Balocka is heavy on the weights and is playing the perimeter and shooting 3’s- why? – there is issues everywhere but I really like this team..
Hurrah! Mahalo, ST, for the tickets!
Koakane, beer’s on me.
My alma mater won today’s game with, it appeared, only 6 of us cheering the team on in the first game. Way to go, Dons!!! They also won the West Coast Conference today in men’s soccer, heading on to their 31st NCAA appearance! When I went to USF, Alex Toledo, a recent past president of Peru was on the soccer team. They were awesome then, too.
Posted a few photos of the Karaoke Call/Mrs. Bulla’s birthday bash…mostly featuring the Bulla’s, and introducing Russ and Pam at the bottom of the Cattle Call page:

Work day tomorrow to I’ll say goodnight!
ST can you name the 22 fb commitments coach mac said he has in hand…if he saves 2 like it was mentioned, he has obviously 1 left for the ’09 season plus a number of recruits who accept greyshirts status..
Hiya!
I’m burning dvd’s of the George Carlin series on the dvr for #2 son. We just realized that on Wednesday when the new dish and HD dvr comes in, the old one is history and we have a lot of saved movies on it. Arrgh!
This week will be nuts. The solar water heater is installed on Tuesday and the aforementioned dish on Wednesday.
Had to go to a meeting at halftime during the Redskins game. Tsai, Jason must be happy. It was the Marion Barber show Q4.
Glad to hear Ronnie and Rich are safe.
Congrats Mei Ling, good book-luck Ted and DPK and Sweet Warrior Dreams, Ka Kou!
Good morning!
Wow. Could you tell it was a bye week?
Thank you, Mr. Tsai, for the clarification on the practices.
Morning Tsaikos.
Looks like fun for all at the birthday bash.
Anybody catch Congressman Abercrombie on L&L last night? He said “if” he ran for governor, one of the things on his list was to build a new football stadium worthy of a division 1 team.
Jay….I saw that too. He even said the facility could be on the west side. Also sounded like the Dems were thinking about having Mufi not complete his term and be in a DC position/office during a separate TV clip of Senator Dan speaking about Mufi’s recent win.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
Happy Belated Birthday to Diana (Kekoa’s better half)!!
Looking forward to the game tonight. Something different although I know I’ll pay for it tomorrow.
