Colt Brennan confirms that he arrives in town tomorrow, will participate in Saturday’s Field of Legends football youth football clinic at Aloha Stadium (call the Barefoot League at 734-0200 for details), then depart Sunday.
Brennan said he is in great shape, and fully healthy for the first time since the start of his senior year at UH. He has been training in Arizona.

it is good to play against those who went away.
i think the rivalry and competition is what it is all about.
nothing better to bring out the competitive juices than a great challenge.
those things also will help pack the house.

I hope Colt has a good time on such a short visit “home!” Good luck to the men’s basketball team, although i’m not holding my breath. Anyone heading out to the Les tonight? I’m trying to round up some of my Kailua boys for a night out on the other side of the Koolaus- not an easy feat!

Good morning everyone!
Good to see Colt back in town and helping out.

Good Morning midori7! Did you and your beautiful mom have a good girls day yesterday?
Good morning DPK!
Sorry, I had to cast Bulla as the skipper if Koakane was Gilligan. But if no Koakane, then you can be skipper again and Bulla can play Mr. Howell. π
JJ said he thought I should be Mrs. Howell. But we know how confused JJ can be… π
Mighty slow in here this morning.
“I want to root-root-root for the home team”.
Mr. Tsai,
If you do run into Mr. Brennan, could you ask him what he did with the lego I gave to him the other year? Just wondering if its on a wall or in the basement. Thanks!

Thank you to Colt and Davone for continuing to give back to Hawaii!
Always, the very best to your future in the NFL.

howzit! everytime I see your post, it brings back memories of the grand time we had at Snowqualmie Casino after the Wazzu game – cannot believe we made so much noise.
and a certain couple from LA, especially the Mrs, was laughing so hard I thouhgt she was splitting her sides. funny, but it continued in Vegas the following week.
and Mrs A-House still brings up the fact that the waitres brought me a warm bowl of water, with lemon, to wash my hands after all the crab legs – she was and still is jealous.
our best to Nicky – hope he will be able to come home and attend one of our tailgates this season – if not, we will see him in 2011 for the Udub game – Midori7 wants to go back to Pike’s Market and visit all the onolicious restaurants we found near our hotel.
yes, wafan, we will see you and Izzy too!!!!
Welcome home, COLT!

Great memories indeed. Had more than my share of prime ribs from the buffet.
(allergic to seafood). Nicholas got promoted to trainer for the entire store and is currently on track for supervisor training at Best Buy. He came home during the Valentine’s rush to help his old parents. I’m sure he would love to see everyone again at the u-Dub game if he doesn’t make it back for a Warrior home game.

Re-What I would do if I were Mayor in honoring Mosi Tatupu
Plant a tree. Where? Stadium Park, where the old stadium used to sit. And where Mosi played his high school games.
I think by commemorating Mosi life with some remembrance needs to be done , especially of how Mosi brought so much recognition and good will towards Hawaii.
Planting a tree (a big one like a banyan that will be around for 100 years or so) symbolizes a lot of things, especially life and growth. Plus with an accompanying plaque it serves as memorial plus perpetuates the memory of Mosi. Of all the people I’ve seen or heard about in lifetime that grew up in Hawaii none is more deserving of some recognition than Mosi. I feel it would be a shame if nothing is done.
Does Coach Mack need some help with the applications? Put them in alphabetical order? By date received? Make sure all the pages are the right way? Anything?
Let me know….. π

Hi ho.
It was a nice interview of Davone on the Leahy & Leahy show last night. I was thinking that it would have been fun to have Colt show up on set in the middle of the interview…only on the Warrior Beat…
The young ones will have a great time at this weekend’s football clinic. Thanks to Davone, Colt, Samson, and the other players involved.

I agree that honoring Mosi Tatupu would be a good thing. Why not plant a tree and install a bust or statue of the great one?
The Citadel should be tougher competition than Oregon. Heard on the radio Oregon was only ranked (25th) in one of the five NCAA baseball polls and those pesky “southern” teams play some good ball.
Speaking of… Hope those going to the Saturday noon game will stop by the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium!!!
BIG competition at 4pm against one of those “pesky southern teams” in East Carolina and while they don’t seem to be much of a threat as Udub, they are still a threat and then the BEST of the BEST showcase their power against the Wahine as #1 and 2009 NCAA Softball National Champions Washington plays UH at 6pm.
But getting back to East Carolina, they remind me of Oklahoma State in terms of their record and the competition they’ve won and lost to. Like OSU they’ve only lost to highly ranked teams and ECU features some local talent coming home to playβ¦ the Wahine MUST PROTECT DIS HOUSE!!! With #1 Washington looming later that day, they cannot keep their eyes off ECU for a moment. Keep the errors non-existent and if they are confident in their abilities, yet humble, ECU should be no problem. I was worried that while Oklahoma State didn’t have the numbers to really overwhelm us, I had a feeling our errors would cost us that game moreso than others and it seemed like it did. The Louisville Slugger and Cathedral City tournaments should have served as a major learning tool. I hope the Wahine have returned home a bit wiser.
Washington…
“To be the man, you gotta beat the MAN!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!”
On paper, there should be no other team, out of the WAC or in the WAC, that is going to challenge the Wahine as hard as U-DUUUUUUUHHHHBBBBB. It will be a treat and a “chore” (in a way) to see how the Wahine batters maintain their poise against Udub’s pitching and if Stephanie Ricketts will be called upon and if she can find her “groove” on the mound against the BEST of the BEST.
The game against Seattle tomorrow night may be hard to watch if you are a Seattle fan. Game is at 6 and I leave the office around 6:20 or 6:30 at the latest and it takes me about 15-20 minutes to get to UH, find parking, and then park my okole in my seat at the stadium… I hope the Wahine don’t mercy rule Seattle before I even get a chance to get change from the parking attendant!!!
Hi DPK! We had a nice Girls Day, thank you.
Another busy weekend. Hope the weather clears up for baseball & softball.
GO WARRIORS/BOWS/WAHINE!
“I want to root-root-root for the home team.”
Wonder what it was I did in a previous life to poose off the assorted gods! Last night while I was shopping at Foodland in Kailua someone stole my wallet and cleared out my two debit card accounts – and then some – in less than 30 minutes. Also taken was a bus pass I’d just purchased for $50 Sunday evening, a book of checks, assorted pieces of ID, and my Sears card. Fortunately, I’d left this weekend’s baseball tickets on my desk.
At 7:40 pm, I’d gone into the store with my car keys, the wallet and a cloth shopping bag to buy some dessert to go with the Quizno’s sub DrDoc was buying next door. DD gave me $5 and saw me put the money in the wallet.
I picked up a store shopping basket before I headed into the bakery area. I discovered the wallet was gone when I went to the checkout stand around7:50 pm.
What was really bizarre is that there were very few customers in the store at the time plus I don’t even recall seeing anyone near me at the time. I certainly did not leave the basket unattended to go to another part of the store.
After DD purchased a replacement bus pass for another $50 – I cannot drive anymore until my Bad Eye!!! goes away – we headed over to Long’s to buy a replacement wallet. We ran into Stephen coming out of the door
As soon as we got home around 8:30 pm, we notifed the two banks and Sears. Both bank cards were closed immediately but not before a whole bunch of purchases had been run up in stores which do not require passcodes. I’d memorized them a long time ago so there was nothing in the wallet to give that information away.
We headed back to the Kailua police station, got the complaint forms, and then started visiting the various retail establishments that had processed the card. At the last one, the checkout clerk actually knew the guy who’d used the card and asked him whose card it was – the little snit said that it was his mom’s.
What a major hassle!! But the whole thing is really scary. Was this a “crime of opportunity” or is there a gang lurking around retail stores targeting solo women shoppers?
Back to sports: Still waiting for a return phone call concerning the Budweiser Tent. The individual in charge of the promotion is still off-island.
Give a shout-out to the men’s basketball team as well as the Bowsball team today.

WDoc,
Sorry to hear about your latest misfortune. I hope HPD can follow-up with that clerk who told you he knows the creep.
Uhhh…. CrM….you out there?

Capitol -ist/WassupDoc:
Sorry to hear about your hassles. If you find out who the thief is, please post his or her name here. There are many Kailua folks who would love an opportunity to “teach” this young person that stealing is wrong.
W/Doc ~ It sounds like it may have fallen out of your cloth bag and then the ‘perp’ came along and picked it up. Whatever it was, it was a low down dirty Dingus Magee thing to do to you and the Dr.
Please do pass this info on to Colomaohana, as I know her husband will be able to help you. He loves dealing with criminals…Hmmm…maybe that’s how he hooked up with his roomie.
Shoots!
“I want to root-root-root for the home team.”
WDoc – sorry to hear about that. I will have to be more vigilant when I go there now.

Sorry to hear about your experience with a societal low-life. Sounds like a smack upside his head would be appropriate.
Wassup Doc:
Cannot believe that the clerk at the last stop did process the purchase if he knew the kid – maybe by first name or nick name only.
Especially if he asked the kid whose card it was – jeeeeeeez!
Count me in

Hiya- Well, Colt is still a Redskin as of today but a bunch of guys are not- including #2 QB Todd Collins.
WDoc- God Bless!
Happy birthday to Rough Rider Susan (Sato) Tamura.

SteveM ~ E kala mai! I forgot about the cruiser call today! I wanted to listen to Tom Mui tell us about his trip to SE Asia. I’m guessing he provided a photo journal of all his adventures.

Sorry to hear about the pilikia W-Doc. At least they have a good lead to follow. Blessings on you.

My full sympathies to you!!! This year has not started well…your physical ailments, losing your cat and dog, and now this. Auwe! Makes you want to go back to bed and start the year again.
Go basketBows!

I hope the VolleyBows are not impacted by the campus protests going on in CA. Some reports indicate very high tensions are prevalent.
I want to root-root-root for the home team
…what did I want to do?
I want to root-root-root for the home team!
Great idea by anonymous and DPK. I’d chip in for a statue of Mosi at the stadium. Just IMHO, he was the best high school football player that ever came out of Hawaii. Add his character, and he is very deserving.
W-Doc,
Sorry to hear about the theft. The stores where your card was used might have surveillance tape that can be reviewed by police. Trick is to get the video tape before it’s recorded over. Bad karma to the perp.
anonymous & DPK,
I walked through the Old Stadium Park today and there is room for another tree. A bust might not work in that park in terms of overall design, but a tree with a plaque would be nice. I don’t think that the City has kala to buy a tree, but if you raised the funds & gathered a group to plant it, they might go for it. Getting the tree enough water is another concern, since it’ll be a young sapling unlike the older established trees that can live on less water.
I want to root, root , root for the home team…
Basket ball bows not doing too good…what else can go wrong for the bows—Rod playing with food poison…
WassupDoc,
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully the inconvenience of getting new cards and a wallet is not too bad for you.
Article about the 5 best players not at the combine mentioned John Estes:
I rarely agree with Jon Wilner, but I think he just wrote a reasonable and detailed article on Pac-10 expansion.
Re: Mosi.
Good point.
Great gesture.
And a tree would be environmentally appropriate.
Not sure why we always have to wait several years to do things. I don’t mind emotional decisions. Most of what I do is based on emotion. … And then I apologize.
I want to root-root-root for the home team.
Manoa Mist,
Perhaps a bust would be appropriate at the current Aloha Stadium grounds.
I hope CRW was not stuck in the Metro shut down at the Pentagon!
Why not a tree at the stadium park and a bust at Aloha Rusty Stadium?
If Aloha Stadium is going to be around for another projected 20 years it would be a good place to honor Mosi. And, a tree on the site of his games would be a good place for youngsters to play their games for years to come.
Good evening to all1
We are getting ready to drive up to the Les for tonights game .

Why wait for the mayor, do it your self. I’m sure that you could put a grassroots effort in this. Waiting for the system to do something is like waiting till $ell freezes over.

Without question Tatupu is a legend in HI sports.
Between the College of “O”, the U. for Spoiled Children and Big Bux Kraft I think they can get together enuf to put up a fitting memorial without any of us chipping in.
Happy Birthday to Susan. I know her eldest son who is a great young man.
at least one more game to go..11, 13, so far 10 win seasons, that’s 34 wins in 3 years out of about 90 games- 37% winning percentage.
WassupDoc: I am very sorry for your lost as stealing from an elderly and intelligent lady like yourself is WRONG as every penny you have MUST count and don’t need no “scoundroll” young or old to violate your privacy or financial earnings.
If I may offer a $100.00 to you for your unfortunate lost as I hope it will help you in some sort of way to get back a little of the financial troubles that this negative situation happened. If you may write me with a returned self postage envelope already address in your name, then I will be more then gladly to write you a check or money order which ever you prefer in the stated above amount and mail it out to you.
Please mail it to my work address c/o Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center / 9106 S. Western Avenue, Los Angeles, Ca. (90047) attn: Athletic Director Clifford Sanchez. Hang in there wassupdoc as thru all misfortunate bad things that may happen in life there is a cloud with a silver lining that has a smile for you and appreciates the goodness that you are and the respectful woman that you will always be !

sorry to hear about the basketball loss.
its inevitable now.
maybe a reassignment somewhere in the dept?
we could use someone to head the compliance office.
reassignment, patronage jobs, high threes, always a bad omen for the taxpayer who wants leadership, accountability, results and fairness in employment opportunities. How many of our legislators went on to higher paying state jobs at the UH, dept. of Health, etc. for high threes, while more qualified people without connections waited for the call that never came.
I say a Street would be great… TATUPU WAY… reminding everybody the “way” to live/play!
I was cheering, hoping, in fact praying for the UH men’s basketball team to pull out a win against Boise State tonight, however, well, we all know the end result.
Anyway, I believe, sadly, this is the end of the road for Bob Nash as head coach.
Like I have stated earlier, great man, good human being, great amount of dedication to the University, however, he just didn’t get it done. To keep him around would be foolish with just one year left on his contract, and almost impossible for him to recruit without an extension.

time for a clubhouse raid? haven’t had one in a while…

just throwing this out there….
who is one of the best in seeing potential in high school qb’s?
cmon now.
okay, june jones yah.
so as soon as you see smu offering some qb’s you go and follow suit. i believe that this would be a good thing.
Great Aloha Friday!
Too bad for the BasketBows. Too bad for Nash, too.
Besides the Reggie Theus “Rumor”, I wonder if any of these guys are on the short list of candidates: Jarrin Akana, Brandyn Akana, Jeff Law, Dan Hale..
I
Al,
SMU hasn’t offered any QBs yet. They are having a camp just for QBs (I think it is called the “Top Gun” camp) this year, just like last year. Last year there were a number of 3-star QBs who attended the camp that openly talked about how they were hoping that SMU would offer, and I never understood why SMU did not offer and let those QBs go to SEC, Pac-10, and Big 12 schools.
Instead of offering those highly-rated QBs, SMU offered a QB that had no rating on scout or rivals…mainly because he had sat on the bench for his first 3 years and had not been the starting QB yet in high school (except for 1 game that his team lost when the starter was injured). The QB accepted the offer immediately, of course.
I didn’t understand why JJ would sit back and ignore all the other QBs that were interested in their school. But the name of that unrated QB immediately gave him a commit last year? Kyle Padron…who was something like #3 in QB efficiency in all of D-IA as a true freshman.
Waiting to offer who JJ offers probably won’t work too well. Last year I think that SMU was the first to offer Scroggins…he ended up going to USC.
Here is an article that mentions SMU’s QB camp…and a QB going there says that he’s going to *Hawaii* if he does well at the SMU camp.
Pisa update.
This article analyzes the Pac-10 expansion candidates–here is the part that mentions UH:
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Good morning Tsai-kos!
Happy Aloha/Furlough Friday!
Will definitely be at the next mvb home game to see Stretch’s new visual aid in action. π
Good luck to the men’s volleyball team against Northridge. Do they really have a middle that’s 7’2″?
This is a great post, I stumbled across your article while looking for free songs. Thanks for sharing, I’ll be sure to recommend this site to others.
Great Morning All!
Geez! What’s with all the cake crumbs and bits of, what appears to be, bread pudding all over the floor? πΏ
Out of character appearances by the BaseBows’ Back-up Pitchers last night….or was the difference that the The Citadel batters were swingin’ away at anything around the plate? Tempting DH today to see their two aces on the mound.
Slugger,
Keep us posted on the latest weather report from Moili’ili please. π
Congratulations PonoJr!
Time to bus’ out da raincoat.
HiHo….
Soggy bottom baseball last nite. Both teams pitchers were having control problems because of it. The Citadel group play a scrappy game, should be a challenging series.
Hope to make it out to an afternoon game this weekend.
Congrats Wayne & PonoJr for scoring some ducats.
Wayne ~ What – no giveaways from the radio station or the PacWest Commish?!
Good morning Tsaikos…stay safe out there…it’s wet and windy….
Good Morning Gangeez! π π π
d1-
It’s currently windy and cloudy, raining off and on here at beautiful Puowaena.
Howdy JJ, and Kekoa!
I bet Burton Wentzel aint a real name like ours.
Congrats to pono the younger. Are you the offspring of the poster known as PONO?
I was lookin’ here this mornin’ for all of that speculatin’ that Tsai was talking about.
d1 – #135 – I just brought the stuff. Methinks Liz, A-joe and Kekoa made stealth raids on the clubhouse kitchen. π
Well as I sit here on top of Aliamanu looking out the window at the Koolau Range in the east and the Waianae Range in the west all I see is dark clouds, rain and a lot of wind, 10 to 20.
Good morning Tsaikos…
Pomai, sounds like you’re on Likini St. somewhere…grew up on that street.
Interesting news with Redskins dumping Collins…there’s speculation that they’ll draft Sam Bradford with their fourth pick. Guess we’ll see.
99club up the road from there.
99club on lower Likini? My wife grew up on Likini St. in between Likini Pl and Wanaka St.
Hey DPK….I thought you lived on Punchbowl??? MWAHAHAHAHA
Great Post
At least he didn’t get arrested in Arizona. They have some of the most severe penalties in the US. Read about the penalties enforced under Arizona DUI law, not too pretty.

Getting tougher with Israel will not matter. Israel shows restraint sometimes but they always do what they want. They also always win. Gods chosen people. Don’t mess with the chosen ones!
I’ve been reading a few posts and i’m adding your blog to my rss reader , thanks !
