Walk this way
For most teams, Football Fridays usually are quasi rest days in which physical activities are limited to walk-through sessions at the game’s stadium.
What started as a change-of-pace and now will become a tradition, the Rainbow Warriors will have a 40-minute, limited-contact practice on Ching field today. The first play is at 6 p.m. — the scheduled kickoff time for tomorrow’s game.
The practice will enable the Warriors to finalize plays, install some new ones, and, in general, provide more thorough preparation.
After that, 64 players — the usual size for a travel roster — will dine at KCC, then check into a hotel for meetings and video sessions.
Tomorrow, about a dozen non-hotel players will suit up for the game. Most of the dozen are scout players who have a chance to play.
First?!
Good morning, Tsai-kos and Lurk-ers! 😀 🙂 🙂

10. I think Hawaii can win by 10 but I think there will be a lot more scoring in that game…
Also note that no one has seen Hawaii play with a lead in the 2nd half this year so play calling on D could possibly be different and opposing offense play calling will probably air it out more if trailing..
Aloha Friday! ~
Checklist for tomorrow’s game should be formulated today. Time for each player to review their individual mission, and focus on team work. Getting that mindset put in place and running the important mental checklist over and over again will help. Execution to perfection the ultimate goal. It’s time to put a ‘W’ in the books.
Go Warriors!
Go Warriors!!!! Lets go boys do your thing on the field and we’ll do our thing and bring the noise in the stands. Good luck tomorrow. Rep the 808!!!

Howzit Gang!
Well.. wish I could “walk this way”. Still limping badly. As much as I’d like to make it to the game and T-gate, I just don’t think I can handle that much walking at the moment. Pretty frustrated that my foot/ankle is still swollen, although the xrays have shown no major damage requiring surgery.
My son has to be at UH’s taro patch tomorrow morning at 8am. I’m not driving to and from, only to repeat it around noon. So, if any of you wander out to Manoa early, you may find me at either the farm area, or at Campus Center.
My younger kids have read enough to earn a free sundae at Farrells, so I’m bringing them to Pearl Ridge today after school. Will probably be there between 3:30-5pm or so.
See you if we see you!
Game Day Eve! Let’s go, Warriorz!!! Get that “W”!!!
How come I can’t find parking costs at the Aloha Stadium website? I see that I gotta go to the pink, public parking area, but where is the list of prices per section?
is it saturday yet? 🙂
#StartSeanSchroeder
i think stadium parking is $5.
#21
website developer is a knucklehead.
#21,
Cuz it wouldn’t be a list. It’s a flat fee of $5 for the lower Halawa Lot and Kam Lot.
The upper lot (inner circle) is all reserved for pass holders.
#22….Hey, get back to work….LMAO
#22….and stop feeding the fish….MWAHAHAHAHAHA 😉
Good morning everyone!
RE: #21
Wes’side Warrior — is this the map you are looking at?
http://alohastadium.hawaii.gov/directions/aloha-stadium-parking-map
You may park in the yellow or pink areas, both $5.
I would enter through Gate 3 (guaranteed open). I am not sure about Gate 4…but I never really looked.
Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂
# 26 You get back to work! 00 ———–>!
And while you’re at it, tell the Congress to get back to work.
One Nation. One People. One Goal. 😉
JJ ~ You’re on the top of my list, right next to that waiter-ress.
Kekoa….Oops…forgot about the Waiteress….Check….
and just got confirmation on the beeru…so check on that too…
MWAHAHAHAHA
JJ,
They need food! I’m afraid they don’t have enough food. Although the molly population seems to be declinding so either the ducks are eating them or the first or both.
GO WARRIORS!!!
Ducks definitely eating them along with the Papio….saw that the other day…. 😉
#33 plus 1
Adding to my wish list — winning enough money to pay for the meals and hotel stay for the scout team … they deserve it.
With finances to tight, is it still a good idea to spend one night at a hotel?
Can the $$$ be better used by UHAD?
Hopefully we come out with a statement tomorrow night, i’d love it if our boys put on a winning streak and salvage the year.
#37 A-House
Just guessing but I would imagine it is to isolate the players from their usual routine and make sure they are not fussing off at their dorm/house/apartment.
Also make sure they are at the meetings and what-not and treating it as a business trip. Also the meeting place at the hotel is probably big enough to accommodate the whole team.
On the other hand, to save $$, but to isolate them, may the Kobayashi Hotel – assuming it is still in business!
IS IT SATURDAY YET?
ITS SATURDAY….somewhere in the WORLD!!
Yes .. it is Saturday here in Manila….. 6:35 am….
It’s 3:15 pm on the West coast. Bon Voyage jm2375 !!!
Final destination: Miami via the Panama Canal
She will become the 5th known Tsai-ko to make this “rite of passage”.
I would guess that Outrigger, as a sponsor gives UH some kind of discount on hotel rooms for the team
RE: #43
Ooops– 3:38 pm west coast. 5th known on a modern cruise ship, anyway…not counting merchantmen and military.
#39 Was that Kobayashi Hotel across Aala Park? If so, that bugga is an empty lot. From what I hear in stories told, that hotel had a lot of “action”.
Good luck tomorrow Warriors!
Game day…good food, good people, good times, good fun.
Life is all about getting together with people you care about and enjoying each other’s company. Lucky we live Hawaii.
Ok, mahalo gang!
Phi-dollah… phi-dollah… phi-dollah par-king…
That’s a long walk… made longer yet by going around and around that ramp… and then up (or is it down) those stairs. Too much trouble to limp around all night at the moment.
Wes’side, you need to keep it elevated and apply warm heat to get the swelling down.
Das not wat she sed!
😯
Fitty!
I can understand Chow not announcing the QB for tomorrow. I just fear going back to the boring Pro Set.
Ouch doesn’t look good for USU’s Chuckie Keeton…looks like he blew his knee out on that play…
GO WAHINE!
GO RAINBOW WARRIORS!
Shouldn’t cold therapy be used to reduce swelling?
Has there been a defensively linenan since Niko and then Al Noga who have been so feared by UH opponents as a disruptive force that teams prepared schemes to account for them?
I cannot recall aside from Laboy but he was hurt and was more of a rush end.
I may be beating a dead horse but those guys were like offensive weapons on defense.
Maybe Kennedy could be that kind of player in time.
shwifty-shwix
GO, RAINBOW WARRIORS!
While I don’t like BYU, you have to admire the play of linebacker Kyle Van Noy. He’s definitely an NFL quality player. Also, watching the UCLA – Utah game last night, that Bruin true freshman linebacker, Myles Jack was very impressive.
Go Wahine, beat the Beach’s.
off-topic
Victorino 3 for 4; 2 rbi; Re Sox 12-2.
jtl , only for the first 24-48 hours to decrease any more blood flow to the injured area, then warm compress to open the blood vessels to decrease the swelling.
Ice can be used for chronic swelling also. Heat applied to an inflamed area is not recommended.
Wow! This house is CLEAR! Don’t recall ever seeing it like this in a very long time! So very nice indeed!
Gotta work tomorrow AM, so gonna be late start at the TG! Looking forward to our first of six wins!
Is Outrigger Hotels sponsoring the hotel staycation?
Carissa Moore advances to semifinals in Portugal!!
Go Carissa!
What staycation?
Another day of the government being shutdown but the Tsai-Ko Tailgate is definitely on for the game tomorrow. Same spot as last week-Cabana A at Rainbow Bay Marina. Early Crew shows at 9:00am, Grill Crew fires up 10-10:30am and keeps grilling until around 2:30pm, clean up and head for the stadium at 4:30pm. Pack up your favorites to share and maybe a little meat to grill, come out for some fun, food, friends, family and football.
If you need directions or the password contact me at jboster(at)yahoo(dot)com.
BYU is smashing Utah St in Logan.
Statistically, Utah St not doing bad, but 2 turnovers and Keeton has been inefficient passing. Van Noy is eating up the Utah St line alive.
Looks like a talent mismatch from the bits and pieces I’ve watched so far.
SDSU is leading Nevada 23-17 at the half.
Fajardo is back and carrying the offense… surprisingly, the Nevada rushing game has been stuffed. And yes, Nevada’s defense is bad… 302 yards surrendered in first half to an SDSU offense that’s been completely inept all season.
Solid Mo808!!! I like your positive enthusiasm!
“Be All The Fan You Can Be!!” UHfan808 rockin’ da Army jingle!
Nevada surrendered 9 points in the last 46 seconds of the half. Gave up a safety as the punter dropped the snap and then after the free kick, SDSU went 65 yards for TD in 37 seconds to end half. Terrible execution and defensive playcalling by Nevada.
Pau Hana! It’s Tirsty Time!
Go Wahine! Go Bows!
Not a drop…ball snapped over his head
Hiyah, gang!
Kona miss you guys tailgating tomorrow. Going to hula class & ‘olelo class south a here. Hope to make it back to watch the stream of da game. I’ll be cheering with you.
Tom-warriornation, plz email me LV ticket info. At least one of the students interested in going from the Hawaiian club.
Mr. U, I got your grandson.
BG, I’ll need the LV info soon. Tanks, eh!
GO WARRIORS!!!
Had a private tour of the George W and Laura Bush library today. It was very moving. There is a transition from President to Private Citizen that was so interesting. My husband asked if I could have my pic taken on the SMU field. They were very acocmodating. Why? When they heard I was a Hawaii fan and from Hawaii they were very accomadating. Beautiful field and football facilities. They were so nice to wish us good luck against SJ tomorrow.
Go Warriors! Lets WIN big tomorrow.
Howzit, HiFlyer!
Mahalo! Yup, doctor said only use ice the first 24-36 hours, followed by warm/hot water soak, preferably with salt in it to bring the swelling down… up to 3x daily.
d1… I’m sure there are other ways to reduce the swelling… hahaha!
wahine sweep them beaches 25-11,21,16.
emily hartong 14k-11d, .414
Frickin Nevada… After a furious comeback, they completely fizzle in OT and lose by 7. SDSU had ball first and easily scored a TD, then Nevada goes: false start, short run, incomplete, incomplete, incomplete… Game over and fail to cover.
Season tally now at 14-8
wahine hit .310
lbsu .079
Utah St QB Keeton went down with a knee injury in first quarter. That explains the erratic passing game by the Aggies.
Utah St somehow allowed T. Hill to throw 3 TDs… Hill is a fantastic runner but an awful thrower. Like Mr Tebow and Taylor Martinez (Nebraska).
Going into tonight’s game, Taysom Hill was 54 of 133 (40.6%) for 741yds (5.6ypa) for the season with only 1 TD and 4 INTs…. After tonight, he’s got 4 TDs and 5 INTs.
Yeah, he’s pretty one dimensional. BYU is going to lose vs teams with athletic defenses and a halfway competent defensive coordinators who know how to gameplan vs running QBs. Look for BYU to get smashed by Boise St and Wisconsin later this year as they will force Hill to beat them with his arm. Peterson is a superior coach and Gary Anderson (formerly Utah St now Wisconsin) knows BYU’s personnel very well.
Wes’side Warrior what happened to your ankle? Do you live in the Waianae area?
Nevada needs to find it’s defense.
Whoa, good to see everyone maybe concentrating focused on buying their UH football tickets online hehe 🙂
ST,
So their dinner at KCC – was it the finer dining section and was lots of meat on the menu?
Have only tried the mid-range and cafeteria fare there but have heard fine dining is pretty darned wonderful! 😀
Wes’side Warrior-
If you’ve tried everything else, mebbe you gotta try adjusting your diet for cure your swollen peds?
I need to tell you about one book I’ve been following for the last..15 or so years

oldtimer808… close enough.. in Honokai Hale.
UHfan808… I just haven’t been soaking it enough, and walking too much. Kinda hard when there’s so much to do, and no one else to do it. Like today… gonna be at UH’s taro patch from 8am ’til noon. Actually, I will try to learn stuff, but I am mainly going to drop off my son and take pics/ask questions. So I will wander back and forth between there and Campus Center. But… I am interested in that book… just (please) shoot me an email or message me on facebook. Mahalo!
Out the door in a few minutes to grab breakfast somewhere along the way.
See you all!
Let’s go, Warriorz!!! It’s Game Day!!! Time to grab that “W”!!!
