Unheralded players to be featured

Tonight’s Warrior Bowl should be viewed the same way as a baseball spring-training game. It will be a good chance to see some unheralded players get work. But don’t expect to see the No. 1 receivers or quarterback Bryant Moniz play more than a couple of series. This will be the final audition for on-the-bubble players.

* * * * *

The volleyball Warriors received a favorable road matchup when it learned it will face UC Irvine in the April 23 opening round of the MPSF playoffs. The match will be at sea level — no team wants to play at BYU — and against a comparably skilled opponent. The last time the teams met, also in Irvine, the Warrior pin hitters combined to hit .511. But the Anteaters rallied from a 22-15 deficit to win the third set en route to a four-set victory.

This is probably the best group of “Bubblers” we’ve seen overall, so far. If this is a portent of our future, we’re definitely heading in the right direction! Can’t imagine how tough it must be for the coaches to make these final decisions, especially with so much talent and potential.

    Good luck, Bubblers!

    Go, Warriors!

    Go, Wahine!

    Gouda morning, gang!

  33. warriorsun April 15, 2011 9:14 am

    Bubble Bowl? ….it aint so!

At many positions, such as the interior defensive line and DE, we may see potential players vying to be in position-rotation or better. DTs, Kaniela and Meatoga maybe familiar named starters but they are being pushed hard by 2-3 teammates and many seasoned observers dont see a drop-off. Lest we forget, several years ago, a non-starter warrior DE was named to the All-Wac D-first team. Last year, a non-starter DT led all DL in total tackles.

DC Aranda will be looking closely at his LBs, especially McBride and Laurel–to name a few.

Safety is another position in the mix for a number of packages. We are still awaiting former Edison High flash Brandon Leslie this summer.

Many feel MLB is wide open and are not only looking at this scrimmage but are also awaiting the over-all #42 nationally rated JUCO player in the nation–6-4, 255lb, Brenden Daley. If you are a MLB and want pt–better leave it on the artificial turf tonite. That includes GD-L.

Alot is going on for our D, to say the least. Aranda wants 30 plus in his D-mix, rotation and schemes per game. This isnt a bubble issue, many players are vying for rotation or package and serious pt that could take them to the top of the totum pole. To be sure, these ballers arent playing for the last locker and a Rudy-like dream.

On the otherside of the ball, by his own admission, OL coach Shaw is still evaluating.

He has a host of apprentice-type seniors who have been around for 5 years cast against a bevy of talented and mamouth-sized youngsters who are in the fight.

Ditto at wideout and slot in particular. Many are not not buying into an established starting 4 just yet at wideout and slot. Well, Royce Pollard is an established starter and longtime apprentice Miah Ostrowski is a lead-in candidate with validated assests.

JMO, Bright and Stuzz havent clinched it yet….esp, Billy Ray who shows system experience but has yet to demonstrate YAC assests.

QB? Graves is one bad-hit away from being a starter. REM USC last year when Bryant took a TKO. David needs to impress this spring as a serious back-up.

Cant recall a more meaningful spring than this year. Very crucial, if we want to go bowling and do well against Col, WASH and and a rebounding BYU team, not to mention the WAC with 4-road games.

    Bubble Bowl?

    It aint so.

  34. lava April 15, 2011 9:15 am

The football team needs to start preparing for 2012, and that means David Graves needs to start getting some serious reps now and in the fall.

  44. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 9:40 am

the debacle in aina haina is the reason why I am against relaxed gun laws.

Good morning everyone! And big congratulations to Tom Mui on his anniversary.

  46. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 9:43 am

hey, ST, what are you up to? He’s been away from his blog for such a long time.

  47. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 9:44 am

BG, are you graduating in May with your MBA?

  48. NCAA April 15, 2011 9:57 am

    Ms. gigi-hawaii,

Do you mean relaxed gun laws in Hawaii? debacle? What debacle? You mean the thing you fasten when you drive a car?

  51. Michigan Warrior April 15, 2011 10:02 am

Nobody said anything about, or called it, a Bubble Bowl. Where’d that come from.

Chopsueyboy… too late. I boiled my water and made some ramen. Had to devour it… and rush out the door to pick up my elementary kids. I think we’re in the 40’s today, but the wind is gusting really strong. Feels colder.

Koakane, thanks for the heads up on ST being on the radio. That was a great interview.

  52. SteveM April 15, 2011 10:04 am

    Good morning Kid!

Glad to see you up and posting. I was getting worried that one plateful fuud yesterday might have been too much of a strain.

Were did you find that 16 inch plate, anyway?

  56. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 10:08 am

    Let’s have a conversation!

    Why?

Because I can’t talk on the telephone while my grandson is napping. And he naps for 3 hours!

  57. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 10:09 am

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

  62. NCAA April 15, 2011 10:12 am

I meant to say that debacle doesn’t seem the right word for yesterday’s unfortunate incidence at Aina Haina.

  63. Old Diver April 15, 2011 10:12 am

Lava, I’m with you on that.

    UH vs UNLV 2011

Okay folks, now that spring is here and I’ve gotten through visiting the tax man, it’s time to start organizing for the game. My hat goes out to SteveM for compiling the preliminary ticket count, which is currently at 77. A few of you have emailed me with ticket requests. I’m not sure what happened to those emails. PLEASE email your ticket requests to SteveM so I can get an idea of how many tickets to get this year.

As in past years, UNLV won’t sell tickets to the general public until season ticket holders get first crack. If I can’t somehow use my charm to get the tickets earlier, I will fly to Vegas the first day of ticket sales and see what kind of block I can get. Regardless, I should know how much the tickets will be prior to flying out there, and I will pass them along to you at cost. (Of course, an extra $1 or $2 to cover my travel costs is always appreciated, but not required.)

Please email me at: stevem.hnl (at) gmail.com or any other email addy/means you might know.

This is the 3rd time Rich2176 is generously doing this, so there is not much uncertainty or mystery involved here. Same with Rasu Begasu’s tailgate buffet and optional bus. Please provide any other info and tentative RSVP requests as listed at:

    http://home.roadrunner.com/~smurashi/tsai-kos/las2011.html.

maybe because I have a Hawaiian accent?

  106. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 11:13 am

OK, guys, I am just waiting for Derek to tell us we are way off-topic.

    lol

    NCCA’s fault.

  107. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:13 am

I can say the words aloha, mahalo, luau, and hula in a Chinese accent.

Now if you mean pidgin den dats anoddah story.

  108. mctruck April 15, 2011 11:16 am

People born and raised in Hawaii have a very special accent, and usually if I hear anyone speak…I can detect that special accent right-off the bat. Case in point, is when I called the telephone company while in California, the csr who answered; I asked her, “eh!, you from Hawaii?!” to which she chuckled, and replied….”you too, eh?”

  109. mctruck April 15, 2011 11:17 am

of course, I’ve been asked if I’m cajun as well.

  110. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:19 am

You mean like that movie “Princess Ka’iulani”, that kind of Hawaiian accent. Now I get it.

  111. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:23 am

    Mr. mctruck,

That read like Canadian! LOL Okay, pidgin it is.

    Ms. gigi-hawaii,

Difference in being from Hawaii and kānaka maoli.

  112. SteveM April 15, 2011 11:25 am

Hawaiian “accent”. True story. When boarding a ship in San Francisco, we met 4 couples of Chinese ancestry who have resided in San Francisco since WWII. When we said we lived in Hawaii, they nodded and one said, “Yes, we can tell by your accent”.

We were not speaking pidgin and dressed in 50 degree travel attire. Maybe not surprising since they are all in their 80’s and have at least 35 cruises each all over the world. They met a lot of people during those voyages.

  113. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 11:26 am

I am not kanaka, I am Korean, born and raised in Hawaii, but lived abroad for 7 years.

  114. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:29 am

Salas is solid. It would be good for the Warrior program if Salas, Green, Silva, Pilares, and Letuli all get drafted. Even better if more Warriors get drafted!

  115. mctruck April 15, 2011 11:29 am

gottcha, ms. NCAA….still love me I see. bwaaahahaha! luvu2., mahalo.

  116. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 11:29 am

My 2 hapa-haole daughters have a haole accent, especially the younger one.

OK, guys, I am just waiting for Derek to tell us we are way off-topic.

Awww, gigi, let’s be nice to Derek… at least he was polite.

  119. d1shima April 15, 2011 11:32 am

    Accent?

    Bo Malpass…that’s an ACCENT! 😆

    (starts at 1:18)

  120. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:34 am

haole accent – can be Aussie, Brit, South African, y’all southern, Bostonian, Jersey, Bronx, valley girl, Washington eh, which one?

  121. SteveM April 15, 2011 11:35 am

gigi — I never heard an “abroad” accent. You know you are inviting punny comment… 😆

    NCAA — I don’t know. I don’t listen to myself talk.

  122. gigi-hawaii April 15, 2011 11:37 am

NCCA, not sure which haole accent. Not California haole and not New York haole.

If you heard them, you would know.

They look haole, too, definitely not Korean.

  123. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:37 am

    Mr SteveM,

And the other years she lived astud.

  124. NCAA April 15, 2011 11:38 am

    Who is NCCA?

  132. Michigan Warrior April 15, 2011 11:59 am

    #106… Gigi… and while we’re veering off, I just want to say…

Mahalo to Powderpuff for hooking me up with the theme music to Hawaii Five-0. With my oldest son’s help, we finally got the file converted to a file that my phone recognizes.

I now have Hawaii Five-0 as my ringtone!!!

    Whooo-tahhhh!!!

  133. jm2375 April 15, 2011 12:02 pm

    Howzit Tsaikos!!

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Tommui!! (Same day as my parents)

Took Dennis Ogawa’s class at UH one summer. He told me I sounded like a katonk. This coming from a true katonk. I was depressed for the rest of the day.

kawika49 – one of my classmates married a Filipino from Chicago. Pretty weird to hear a strong Chicago accent coming out of that Filipino’s mouth.

  134. Derek April 15, 2011 12:03 pm

I think my 49ers need a good slot receiver like Salas, maybe if we can get him in the 3rd round. Niners have a lot of needs, especially a pass rusher and top cornerback especially. But I think Jim Harbaugh and company know who they are targeting. He’s a very astute judge of talent. He has sold me when he said he has the best QB in the country and he was correct in Andrew Luck. Things are looking up!!!!!!!!! Now, we just need the big time point guard, the “holy grail” .

  135. Curt April 15, 2011 12:14 pm

    al,

Thanks for the info on Taylor in yesterday’s blog. He looks good. Looks like we’re loading up on scorers. I’m still concerned about the pg position. For now, Miles and Blakes will probably have to cover the pg position til Miah returns back to the team. Seems if Gib is adding another player, someone on the current roster must be leaving.

  136. Curt April 15, 2011 12:27 pm

It was great that June Jones set up the opportunity for Colt Brennan and RGM to be seen up close by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week. However, the current Eagles QB roster include Vick, Kolb, and a 2010 fourth round draft pick. I would think Colt would have a tough time unseating those three because the experience of the first two and the financial commitment to the draft pick.

  137. jm2375 April 15, 2011 1:01 pm

Dang. Didn’t think Bo would go.

Freshman shooting guard Bo Barnes has decided to leave the Hawaii men’s basketball team.

Citing family reasons, Barnes, who was part of UH coach Gib Arnold’s first recruiting class, will return home to Arizona.

  140. Curt April 15, 2011 1:16 pm

Thanks jm2375. That explains why the Coach is still pursuing another player. Is that it? Time will tell.

  141. Curt April 15, 2011 1:17 pm

That’s right d1shima. Good luck Bo and our best to you.

  142. PowderPuff April 15, 2011 1:18 pm

Ai yai yai, Bo leaving?!?! Aloha, Bo…thanks for the great moments this past season.

Hey, Michigan Warrior! Isn’t it a great ringtone? When I travel to the mainland, and I hear people talk excitedly about H50, I offer to text/e-mail them the ringtone. HAHA!

Talk about traveling to the mainland, people have come up to me and said, “You have that *special* Hawaiian accent.” Of course I think my English is without that accent, especially since I am a Cougar – a Kaiser one. 🙂

  143. NorthShoreFan April 15, 2011 1:28 pm

Bo, Mahalo for your time here in the islands. I wish you the best and hope things work out for you.

I’m at Campbell High’s career day.

Last time I did that (at JCHS) about 6 years ago, I came down with strep and was bed-ridden for a week.

  146. Derek April 15, 2011 1:48 pm

It’s kind of a shock that Bo Barnes has asked for a release. I thought, for a freshman, he had a good season. It started great in the pre season games, but as the season wore on he tailed off. Still, the fact remains that he’s a very good shooter and he shot the ball well on the free throw line. I also think he was going to be a better season next season with another year of experience. Good luck to him and I guess Bo knows best!

Now, Arnold has to fill another spot and who will it be, Taylor, Odunsi, Blackwell? Tough call.

But, could there we more changes to come? As the World Turns!!!!!

  147. NCAA April 15, 2011 2:02 pm

Bo’s going to have to wait awhile to play with his younger brother.

  150. NCAA April 15, 2011 2:17 pm

I wonder what school Bo had in mind to play with his younger bro? The brother grads this year but isn’t highly recruited. He did make honorable mention. No matter, family first.

  151. RedZone April 15, 2011 2:17 pm

    Way to go Na Wahine.

  152. Derek April 15, 2011 2:28 pm

Barnes’ exit is a win-win for both sides.

We are all aware of his 3-point upside but his downside was mediocre D and a lack-luster ability for shot-creation.

When Bo was smothered he couldnt launch. Most realize Barnes has time to mature and perhaps he will work his game to improve in the next three years. Best wishes to a fine young gentleman and athlete. IDK about the curious timing, but coach appears to have had his irons burning in the fire for awhile with a continuing stream of visits.

Hopefully these transitions are not an everpresent pattern and we do a better job of securing stable recruits….for that reason, some are finger-crossing for Mr Mitchell to stay put and contribute as an impact player.

  173. Garret April 15, 2011 4:35 pm

UH made the first offer to safety Kendrick Mathis. He’s more interested in UCLA, but UCLA hasn’t offered him yet.

  174. Garret April 15, 2011 4:40 pm

Texas and Oklahoma never demanded money from the other Big 12 teams, but Texas A&M *did* demand that they get $20 mil even if the other schools had to give up their money. However, every school will get $20 mil or more, so nobody has to give Texas A&M money.

I think that the MWC TV deal is significantly undervalued in today’s TV environment, and UH could really use that money. It is too bad that I just read that CBS CS owns the rights for the next 5 years and may have an option to extend their TV rights until *2021*…that would be a long time to wait for MWC teams to get paid what they are worth to TV.

In last year’s chaos, a provision for staying together was a revenue guarantee of $20 million to Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M from the Big 12’s smaller-budget schools, even if that meant reducing their own income. Texas and Oklahoma said they wouldn’t participate in that shakedown, but A&M said it would.

With the new windfall, Beebe said Wednesday, that won’t be necessary.

“As much as we can project with the revenue coming in, it looks like it will make that issue moot in 2012 and beyond,” Beebe said.

University of Hawaii running back Alex Green has three visits with NFL teams scheduled next week, a league source said Friday.

Green is slated to visit the Detroit Lions on Monday, then head to Atlanta for a meeting Tuesday with the Falcons. He’ll wrap up his tour Wednesday in New Orleans by visiting the Saints.

Green previously visited the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans.

Each NFL team is permitted up to 30 pre-draft visits, which involve interviews and meetings but no physicals or workouts.

Green is a rising prospect who could be a third- or fourth-round selection. He led the nation with 8.2 yards per carry last year, and he ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

Green further helped his draft stock last month with an impressive positional workout at Hawaii’s pro day. NFL.com’s Gil Brandt said Green showed good hands and impressive explosion in his running style.

  203. OldDiver April 15, 2011 9:15 pm

My neighbor just told me that yesterday she witnessed a gray Honda speed up our dead end street in Niu Valley. This was about the time school was being let out of Niu Valley Middle and there were kids all over the place. They could hear the Honda screeching around other streets in the valley. She called 911 and saw police helicopters. That speeding driver was caught in Kuliouou. It seems that was the third person involved in the Aina Koa shootout. Anybody anything about it?

  204. 29sTita April 15, 2011 9:39 pm

hey warrior dave #195. Who was the blocking back on those four sacks?

  205. Warrior Dave April 15, 2011 9:45 pm

McBride had 2, Paipai had 1 and I forgot who had the otrhers. I had to leave before it ended.

  206. Ralph April 15, 2011 10:04 pm

oldDiver KGMB answered your question, Manning, one of the two felons, drove up Kuliouou where he lost control of his stolen vehicle, he then stole a Lexus and head back towards Kalanianaole.

  207. Ralph April 15, 2011 10:07 pm

Coaches give McBride a lot of hype and love but no scholarship.

  208. Slugger April 15, 2011 10:14 pm

    Art Laurel = 3 sacks

  209. al April 15, 2011 10:22 pm

ralph…before you blast the coaches, there are no scholies available to give at this time.

  210. al April 15, 2011 10:24 pm

the guy did walk-on after he sought out the university of hawaii as a place to come to and try to earn a scholie. btw, he did come with sterling jackson another mendoncino jc team mate who also walked on.

  211. Ralph April 15, 2011 10:37 pm

didn’t Jackson earn a scholarship beginning in August. Isn’t McBride on the second team and seeing a lot of reps? Seems like many on the blog see a great future for McBride and that he is getting a lot of reps. If so, he must be ahead of scholarship players, no.

  212. al April 15, 2011 10:51 pm

but you can’t give what you don’t possess.

we are out of scholarships. we are at the max level right now of 85. i am sure he will be applying for a lot of grants and aid that will ease the costs. eventually he will get a scholarship. hopefully, in the fall a scholie will open up from natural attrition.

  213. mauiwarrior April 15, 2011 11:05 pm

maybe one opens up if someone from the recruiting class doesn’t qualify, which i hope doesn’t happen…………but someones loss is another ones gain and it sounds as if he is deserving

  214. al April 15, 2011 11:14 pm

mauiwarrior…actually we have a backlog in that department. some of the 2011 recruits are going the greyshirt route because we have more students than scholies at this point. i believe that at last count we have at least four greyshirts for 2012.

  215. warriorsun April 15, 2011 11:18 pm

came away impressed with our overall D speed on the perimeter. mcbride is the real deal and together with aaron brown will provide a warrior D w shut down play on the perimeter and enuff on the edge to create problems for a qb who is meandering through progressions. mcbride closes in a whiff.

paipai is looking breakout in 2011.

desmond dean is a load and if he puts on another 25-30 lbs will do well at de. he has hurryup speed on the pass rush. jordan monico looked good in the middle and made the first int against the first unit. dt masch is an unstoppable train when he gets rolling and his sidekick, haku looked good holding down the interior. both have diff styles and will be a load. haku has good lateral pursuit and made a tackle on a wideout screen before the receiver could shift gears after his catch.

on O i was watching graves. he needs more work in getting the ball out of his hands quickly.

good footwork out of the pocket. again graves needs more schooling and rolo gave him reps. still a drop-off after moniz and imo, austin is #2.

sterling jackson has good hands and runs the off-tackle hole well with quick bursts.

lister is an inside runner that stays low, sees well and works his shoulders for leverage and x-yards. he will get better w experience and maturity.

i liked what i saw from shaw’s ol as the ogs are in 3-point stances and the ots are hands on knees.

definitely this unit is shaping up in talent, conditionings, discipline and coaching…. and i believe we are safely out of the doldrums we experienced in mac’s first two years. the future portends well under shaw.

justin clapp is a blue collar possession receiver and deserves more looks. he just keeps ticking.

stuzz made an outstanding long distance catch over-his-head and right shoulder along the mauka-sidelines headed west that went through a defenders outstretched hands. great concentration and sticky fingers to haul that baby in.

the big surprise was this kid sampson anquay. i like him on sts as a punt returner. he is quick, darts through cracks in the seams and can be exciting to watch. he has that no fear attittude reminiscent of chad owens but with a diff darting style in heavy-traffic. sampson runs like a mongoose. he has a future at slot and needs the time too mature and find his comfort zone in the offense. the other sampson (allen) looked good running routes at wdeout and returned a one kick.

dunnachie looks comfortable and handles the snap easily but is still not booming his punts.

still waiting for him to bust one the distance. form and comfort comes first. he is there.

tyler hadden made all his kicks as did kyle niro, who showed-off his leg strength in booming a 40-yarder high and deep that split the middle of the uprights.

overall a good spring scrimmage that was well-coordinated and organized by mac & co.

our boyz played hard and fast and most football buffs, parents and spectators were pleased with the team’s effort and performance.

warriorsun: thanks for the comprehensive report on the scrimmage. samson anguay impressed me the first time i saw him on TV playing for campbell. he was shifty with a quick burst, but most of all he played tough. thanks again. i’m sure all those who didn’t attend appreciate your report.

Excellent observations. Was watching from the parking structure. Also had same thoughts about Anguay and Clapp. Despite the whistled sacks, I am not concerned about the O line, Shaw did a great job last year and will do the same again this year. Also thought Shutter was very efficient despite working exclusively with the 3s…got rid of the ball quickly…had good chemistry w Anguay… the two came within a hair of scoring the only TD tonight.

  218. Slugger April 16, 2011 12:05 am

Kenton Chun also made his kick from the 42 yd line.

Warriorsun ~ Mahalo for a very detailed observation. It shows how much you care about the way this team is shaping up.

Isn’t it exciting to think of the defense destroying QB’s this season? Unless we run up against a defense half as good as our guys, it’s gonna be open season for Mo.

I think he knows he won’t get a scholarship yet, and understands that he still has to work on his grades. He’s headed in the right direction.

WarriorSun, great observations. Wish we were there to watch live too! But, I gotta echo #204… 29sTita:

“hey warrior dave #195. Who was the blocking back on those four sacks?”

Didn’t hear any mention of our RB’s, whether running, blocking, or out on pass routes.

  229. d1shima April 16, 2011 5:49 am

    Great Morning All!

Mahalo to all for your reports from the Warrior Bowl.

Nice to read about the defense grasping more of the DC’s schemes. If they have in fact learned it well enough to teach it that bodes well for their ability to play faster.

That said, 8 sacks and 0 TD’s is more than a little disconcerting for the kind of offense the team has had in the past decade. The skills have lots to work on in the summer as it seemed like the spring experiments may have prevented QB1 from gelling with a starting set of receivers. As much as some lament during the season about the lack of PT for back-up receivers (myself included) past successes indicate the importance of unit cohesion when it comes to getting the job done with this offense.

  230. d1shima April 16, 2011 6:06 am

    29sTita,

As you point out, the RB is a vital part of the pass pro schemes. BSmith’s role is as important this preseason as the OL Coach’s in reconstructing the pass pro packages.

It’s always a “good news, bad news” thing when your team is scrimmaging intra-squad. A sack for the defense also means someone on offense got beat or messed up. Usually the RB’s can’t hide their mistakes for long in this offense ’cause it involves a free lane to the QB. That can be fixed.

I haven’t seen any of the spring practices so have only relied on news video and reports. Kinda concerns me that I see so much video of guys getting speed rushed around the edge which seems like a different problem.

  231. d1shima April 16, 2011 6:07 am

    Thanks Brandklasse A

  234. warriorsun April 16, 2011 9:27 am

#218, true chun hit a low-line drive kick that barely cleared the cross bars. the reason i didnt mention it is bc the D didnt put up an all out rush and the kick at that distance was too low and blockable over the middle. every kicker makes adjustment for distance. the longer the distance, the more power required and the lower the trajectory. from that distance, both hadden and niro put the right combination of high-trajectory (to avoid blocks) and power in their kicks.

#224. re rbs. i did watch jackson and lister. i mentioned jackson had good hands as he caught several flares out of the backfield and gathered his catches flawlessly and turned upfield quickly @ full-steam. as far as blocking, read betw the lines. our D was in so fast after getting past our ol the rbs had little angle or time to pick it up. naturally more work and application by smith is expected. the sring bowl is for learning and adjustmnet. like moot court is for law students.

as i said, overall, warrior D owned our O. perimeter speed and secondary coverage, reaction and quickness to ball, was too much to handle on this nite. so, i looked for the positives on O. not to sugar coat, but to highlight potential.

IMO, our receivers positions r still up for grabs. with the exception of royce (too much valuable experience),

i wouldnt be touting 4 starters….not yet. there were projected-starting receivers i watched that didnt bring their A-game, so i didnt mention them. there were other factors in the mix too. we have deep talent and rolo and mouse have to follow their gut. im holding out untill i see chris gant–too many sources that saw him play in person tell me the same thing. the point being, to figure out what rolo and mouse see, not what we want. they make the decisions.

on the other side, aranda will not be sitting on his hands and will be drooling as he looks for more advantage to exploit his talent and speed. that is a mark of a great coach and the mantra of boise state. they always look to create mayhem and exploit.

tomey, too, has more work to do but has a better idea of primetime st candidates.

the scrimmage was planned and executed in a way that will leave much film for tomey to study and evaluate.

still i believe, this spring scrimmage was a great measuring stick for our coaching staff. no doubt, they will watch film, evaluate and go back to the drawing board and prepare a summer and camp blueprint for impprovement and further progress.

once spring is pau, s&c coach, tommy heffernan, emerges as the man-in-charge to fine tune individual athletes in the last training-cycle before camp commences in august.

we are in the second-leg of process with two remaining before we host colorado. lots of time and thanks to our spring bowl, lots of film to breakdown.

I have been using “the safe cig” e-cigarette for about 2 months now and I like it a lot. It has helped me cut back significantly on the number of marlboro lights I smoke a day and it comes in really handy in bars and at work. I think that the classic 18mg flavor tastes the closest to a marlboro light. They have excellent customer support and you can even track the shipments and choose express delivery for like 6 bucks extra. I have created a site that reviews a bunch of the more popular brands and I’d appreciate it if any of you could add your wisdom on these other brands, I want to keep the comments honest so I’m not going to post any fake reviews. Here is the address to my site http://electronic-cigs.org Best of luck to everybody!

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  269. christian louboutin look alikes April 26, 2011 3:35 pm

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I assume Aol. Should be each the most effective and also the worst with the 12 months. It is the ideal, mainly because yes, it will be seen probably the most. It also does set a future for that model, quite different from their past as Internet, Inc. It will be also fairly creative; it is incredibly different. It must be the worst even though since the execution is horrible. The notion, having said that is artistic, just sucks. There exists very little cons istency, as well as wordmark bores me.
