Happy birthday to the blog’s office manager — Midori7!!!!

* * *

Every evening in our neighborhood, I see a middle-aged man — wearing a plaid shirt and carrying a plastic bag — making the long walk to the bus stop.
The next day, the man we call “Plaid” makes the walk from the bus stop.
And this has been going on for years.
My son and my nephew even wrote a rap song about “Plaid.”
Finally, I decided to find out where Plaid is going every day.
I mean, does he work in town or work in our neighborhood?
And why the plaid shirt?
I’m driving home and I see Plaid. I make a U-turn, then another U-turn, and I pull up 20 yards in front, the headlights still on.
I jump out of the car (OK, I pull my lard-arse out of the car), and I approach. “Hi, I’m Stephen, and I see you every evening and I just have to ask: where are you going?”
And he starts stammering, and sweat starts beading, and he keeps walking while saying: “To the bus stop. I’m going to the bus stop.” Then he starts sprint-walking away.
I go back to my car, my son is shaking his head, and I realized: I think Plaid thinks I was going to mug him.

  9. Garret June 21, 2009 12:25 am

Thank you to everyone who went to Genji’s tonight. I loved talking with everyone I could find…I’m sorry for getting there late, which limited the time I had to talk with everybody.

Getting there late I missed a chance to talk with Stretch, Pride, and some others…but at least I got to hear Pride sing before he left.

  10. Garret June 21, 2009 12:28 am

    ST,

I got back a little while ago and am working now, but I checked the blog a little after midnight because I figured you would have good news about a commit.

I hope that the Big Man Camp this coming week leads to multiple OL and DL commits, with the coaches getting to compare all the players and bond with the best of the best.

  11. Pauoa Boy June 21, 2009 12:28 am

    Happy Faddaz Day to all…

  13. Pauoa Boy June 21, 2009 12:30 am

Nice to see we will have a solid group of speed guys for the next couple years…just think all three being in the 4.4 range and haven’t even grown into there own yet…scary…

HAPPY Fathers Day to all you dads!

  15. Jason June 21, 2009 12:36 am

    Rich doesn’t love me … 🙁

No, Pauoa Boy, there’s nothing Brokeback-ish here. Well, only for a few minutes. It’s an old joke involving bowling, maybe Stephen can fill you in. But for those few minutes, he was my “Pretty Woman.” I just need some Roy Orbison shades …

Thanks to everyone for a great time. Talking story (more like yelling) with so many people, and seeing old faces that we hadn’t seen for a while. kama krab and Wreckineyez came by late; L10PC stuck around the whole evening, and gave me a ride back home. SailorBlue and his wife were there tonight as well. And I’m sure I’m forgetting others, but it was really fun. Of course, it was nice hanging out with our honored guests, Rich2176 and Garret.

Well, I guess I got some stuff to do before I head to bed. Oh yeah, before I forget. I really like how this recruiting class is starting to shape up. It’s still early, and some teams might poach in on some of our commits. But the fact that UH is starting and closing in early is something really nice.

  16. MeiLing June 21, 2009 12:37 am

A special thank you to Mrs. A-House and the rest of the A-House family for the wonderful leis. Lori loves them also and I’ll let my kids try them on when they wake up tomorrow. We will be bringing them back to San Diego with us and will put them in a special place in our home.

I wish that I had more time to talk with Wreck, kama, and L10PC. They were at the last table I got to, and I was already supposed to have left. It was nice getting to talk with them for a little while at least, and I got to hear Wreck sing as I was leaving.

  26. Garret June 21, 2009 12:57 am

A couple of people came up to me tonight and asked if I knew who they were, but they were such memorable people that of course I hadn’t forgotten them! Bonding over talking about UH football, especially when food is involved, really makes people unforgettable to people on the mainland like me who aren’t around UH fans during our regular life.

Thank you to SteveM for organizing the event. SteveM does a lot of things for the blog and doesn’t ask for recognition…he just donates his time quietly and we really owe him a lot. I didn’t get a chance to talk with Peaches and him tonight–I was on the way to their table when I got summoned for photos with Rich.

In my mind today’s event was to honor Rich. He’s the one who did an amazing job in getting the Vegas tickets, with an amazing sacrifice of time and money. I was just another one of the Tsaikos there, one who doesn’t get a chance to meet with the others much so I tried to get to every table and catch up at least a little bit with everyone.

I’m fortunately going to get to see Rich in early July to get my ticket and we’re both looking forward to the next Calf Call where we’ll get to hear about Ronnie’s trip.

I’d better stop blogging and get back to work…

  31. Garret June 21, 2009 1:10 am

    Al,

Thank you for all the videos and recruiting updates!

Gee ST,. you home early or did you post from the KK?

Took a long nap this evening, so I’m still up and so is the puppy. He’s currently giving a squeaky toy the business….

Welcome to the Warrior Ohana, Bubba!! You made a great choice!

  33. L10pc June 21, 2009 1:19 am

A big thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome – it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to go to a Tsaiko function, so I appreciate that I haven’t been totally forgotten. It was nice to finally meet Rich2176 and Garret – both very cool guys.

Jason – it was nice to have the company, so I was glad I could get you back home.

WarriorMojo – you’re going to have to sing more than one song on the mike next time. Aren’t you amazed at how many songs we can recall?

rich and garret…i was there in spirit.
but, us old folks have a tough time getting out and about during the wee hours of the evening.

actually was getting stuff ready for father’s day family gathering and the female is in heat and am trying to keep the males away. not ready for another litter just yet. so there’s a lot of howling going on my house.

    hahahaha.

i like the aquisition of speed so far.

Harpy Faddas Day to all you XY folks!

It’s been a long day – work, community service stuff, work alot more. Now I’m almost too tired to go to sleep even though I have a 5 am meeting. Well, it’s 5 am for me and 11 am for everyone else.

Thanx to Rich for all the effort to get the tickets even though we won’t be going. Numero Uno goal is to get the Mac Notebook and all the other techno-goodies by the end of the year so I can get ready to go back to school next spring. That means no discretionary spending except for 2009 – 2010 UH court sports.

  41. Pauoa Boy June 21, 2009 1:51 am

    Jason,
No worries, just making trouble, although gotta question when you start serenading other men haha nah…

  42. Garret June 21, 2009 2:08 am

So many great things in ST’s article today, but I think this was my favorite part:

Poueu-Luna drew interest from California and San Jose State. But he insisted “Hawai’i was always No. 1.”

He enrolled in the past week’s UH football camp for skill players with the intent of “making an impression.”

But Poueu-Luna was told he already was on the Warriors’ to-watch list of prospects.

  43. Garret June 21, 2009 2:09 am

    Al,

You never need to apologize for missing a Tsaiko event–you’ve attended so many of them already and you’ve organized quite a number of Cattle Calls. Hopefully I’ll get to see you sometime soon and hear the latest recruiting news…

  44. Pride. June 21, 2009 2:41 am

Greg McMackin, head coach for the University of Hawai‘i Warrior football program is coming back to Kaua‘i.

McMackin, his staff, and possible appearances by former Hawai‘i Warriors Davone Bess and Colt Brennan, as well as Ray Lewis, who played for McMackin when he was the defensive coordinator at the University of Miami, will be part of free football clinics July 6-8 at Vidinha Stadium.

The County’s Anti-Drug Office in partnership with Hawai‘i Speed & Quickness will be offering the clinics designed to teach young athletes the latest football techniques and drills.

CRW – try the Washington DC area for jobs.

usually have openings in private and government sectors.

    good place to get experience.

    but, high cost of living.

    Good Luck.

  86. wafan June 21, 2009 8:18 am

9.4% unemployed up here. Even the high school kids are having a tough time finding summer jobs. I told the one’s who already have jobs to consider not quitting, and to line a buddy up before quitting.

Of 74 full-time teachers on campus, we are losing 5 to non-renewal by the district. Some districts are losing a lot more than 70 teachers. Tougher times ahead.

    Happy Father’s Day!

CRW: I told Rich last night, Vegas is collecting bets: Which finishes first, June Jones’ golf tournament (starts tomorrow) or the Open? 😛

wafan: No mention that, I’m having a hard enough time trying to get my foot in the door. Stupid bureaucracy, I don’t know what the heck is going on. 🙁

  90. Jason June 21, 2009 8:24 am

    Okay, I’ll bite. From Wikipedia:

Many species of slugs play an important role in ecosystems by eating dead leaves, fungus, and decaying vegetable material. Other species eat parts of living plants.

Some slugs are predators, eating other slugs and snails, or earthworms.

Most slugs will on occasion also eat carrion, including dead of their own kind.

Not sure that’s important enough to me. 😛

  91. Stephen Tsai June 21, 2009 8:26 am

After a Google search, best I can tell, a slug is a circumcised snail.

Now, if I can only find out whether a gelding is eligible to compete in a filly race …

  92. Jason June 21, 2009 8:26 am

And happy birthday midori7! How come you never say anything?!?!

  93. Committed Road Warrior June 21, 2009 8:27 am

    ai-eee-soos:

My guiding light throughout my job search is to “Follow the stimulus $$$.”

I’m considering DC, or anywhere for that matter. Also gravitating towards the public sector as well, since it appears the private sector is gonna take a while to rebound. Government spending never ceases; the only thing that changes is what it’s spent on.

My current gig, with incorporated cutbacks over the past few months, is to the point in terms of pay where I’m probably better off going on unemployment than staying there. I can still put a roof over my head and food on the table, but that’s about it for the most part. Middle management knows I’m trying to make my getaway too, but I’m far enough up on the totem pole that they also know I’ll still stick around if I fail to find anything else.

We’ll see what happens. Still got time, but the clock’s ticking fast.

  94. Committed Road Warrior June 21, 2009 8:34 am

You’re the grand poohba. You don’t have any other minions that could do that stuff for you?

I no longer have a father or father-in-law, so Happy Father’s Day to all the TSAIKO Fathers!!

  96. COPO June 21, 2009 8:35 am

Recruiting philosophy: June Jones “run and shoot guru” made sure he always had more QB’s than he probably needed and over time recruited quick, athletic and speedy type receivers / slots, recruiting OL or linemen period in the state of Hawaii, you will almost always have top quality prospects to choose from, challenge for UH is to recruit them to stay home and away from the PAC-10 or other BCS conferences. Top local skill position players during JJ’s time that I can remember: Ashley Lelie, Chad Owens,Jason Rivers, Stutzman, Uso (transfer), Pilares. George Ornelles came out of St. Louis School a much heralded player – showed much promise and actually started his true freshman year but ended up dropping out of UH after his first year.
Appears to me that current UH recruiting philosophy “thus far” has Warriors recruiting “early” and “offering full-ride scholarships” to smallish athletic, slotback types. In the past and present, UH was able to get to “walk-on” – after all UH prides itself with having produced a great local walk-on tradition – Ashley Lelie, Chad Owens – two of the greatest receivers to ever play for UH were walk-ons.

    Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂

Great to see everyone last night, especially Rich and Garret. Thanks to SteveM and the Genji’s gang for another wonderful evening. Rich, you’re a very pretty woman, or at least some folks think so. 😉

  98. Da Punchbowl Kid June 21, 2009 8:43 am

    Welcome to the Warriors, Bubba!

  99. jm2375 June 21, 2009 8:43 am

    Good morning Tsai-kos!!

    Happy 21st bday Midori7! 😀

    wafan – I hear that Spain’s unemployment rate is over 18% 😯

  100. Stephen Tsai June 21, 2009 8:44 am

JJ said his priority was to recruit DEs, offensive linemen and cornerbacks. He figured the offense would attract receivers, and, for some reason, he never placed much emphasis on recruiting linebackers until 2005, when he went after Adam Leonard, Solomon Elimimian, Blaze Soares and R.J. Kiesel-Kauhane.
He picked up a lot of QBs.
But the APR changed all of that. If QBs didn’t pan out, they could transfer. Now a school might take an APR hit if a player transfers.
But I’m glad McMackin is emphasizing speed.
For all of the success of the 1992 Holiday Bowl team, the Warriors didn’t have great overall team speed that year. Wagner could see that the San Diego States and Fresno States were starting to move ahead. That’s when he made the push to get speed from Colorado. Now UH’s philosophy is to get speed first.

Good Sunday Morning Tsaikos and Tsaikettes!

Happy Father’s Day to all the guys out there!

Happy Birthday to my blog sister Midori7!

Good to hear the K-Kall reports. We’re sorry we missed Rich and Garret and family.

  102. ai-eee-soos June 21, 2009 8:46 am

CRW: another area that USED to have lots of jobs was

North Carolina’s research triangle; don’t know about now.

The cost of living WAS low; don’t know about now – check the local

papers for current conditions – rent, food.

  103. Stephen Tsai June 21, 2009 8:48 am

    But I can see UH’s big-picture thinking.
In 2010, Jovonte Taylor, Rodney Bradley, Dustin Blount, Ryan Henry, Kealoha Pilares, Greg Salas and Mike Tinoco will be seniors, and Malcolm Lane will be playing for the Jets.
So they redshirt the 2010 recruiting class, and then they’ll all have four years to play four seasons.

    Speaking of North Carolina:

A buddy of mine sent me an e-mail a couple days ago noting that U.S. Airways will be flying non-stop between Honolulu and Charlotte, NC starting this winter. Flight time of 10.5 hours westbound and ~9 hours eastbound.

Praying they don’t do BOB (buy-on-board) for this flight, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the knuckleheads in Tempe opt to go that route. The only other nonstop flights from HNL to the east coast are to Atlanta and Newark, and neither of those flights are BOB.

  107. whitey June 21, 2009 9:08 am

CRW, lucky we have options to travel besides United and US Air. Now they going surcharge your 1st and 2nd baggage fees. Auwe, fee on a fee.

  108. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:11 am

OMG. Sneaky Midori7. And Rich was suffering needlessly wondering if ST was going to show last night because there was no cake at the KK!
If we had a cake for you, Rich’s mind would have been put to ease.

  109. Stephen Tsai June 21, 2009 9:12 am

How come airlines just don’t include the BOB or luggage fees as part of the ticket fare?
It beats having to add it on at the airport.

  110. Garret (phone) June 21, 2009 9:17 am

We’re spending the day doing all the things that Lori’s Dad wants as his Father’s Day present. This means that we’re helping Hawaii’s economy at the swap meet all morning and will take him to Dim Sum afterwards.

This is a test of the Opera browser from my BlackBerry…

  111. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:18 am

ST – re “Plaid”. Lucky he didn’t run away yelling “shark”!

  112. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:19 am

    Garret, transmission. 5×5.

  113. ai-eee-soos June 21, 2009 9:21 am

CRW: 9 hours east bound ain’t too bad – but flight comfort will depend on what kind of plane you’re on, and what kind of seats you have. Will be uncomfortable if you’re packed in a sardine can.

Back in my day, I used to go HNL-Chicago-Charlotte via UAL, upgraded to 1st class (frequent flyer). Needless to say, the flights were VERY comfortable.

But back to the subject: look for a job there; you’ll enjoy living there – I did, even tho they were temporary assignments.

  114. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:21 am

Mahalo for a wonderful evening! Especially to my song partner and hostess with the mostess.

  115. Committed Road Warrior June 21, 2009 9:25 am

    whitey:

Funny. I did enough travel on United last year that I reached Premier status for 2009. I get two pieces of checked luggage for free and automatic selection from their “Economy Plus” seating that has ~4″ more legroom than standard coach. These are good perks, unfortunately I doubt I’ll be able to maintain it. Gotta fly 25,000 miles or 30 segments.

Also looks like I answered my own question. U.S. Airways is doing BOB on Honolulu-Charlotte. ‘Auwe!

At least U.S. Airways did away with charging for water and soft drinks. For a network carrier, that was really below-the-belt. This isn’t one of those ultra-low-cost charter airlines like you see in Europe.

  116. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:25 am

Just saw my son’s soccer coach who was here for union mtgs. Not a pretty picture for the workers who keep our utilities flowing.
Reality bite on Fathers Day. 🙁

    k. Ready to board (speaking of sardine cans).

  117. Piper's Son June 21, 2009 9:30 am

Rich2176 and Garret: Sorry I didn’t get a chance to at least say hello last night.

    Good morning Hawaii!

    Great job SteveM!

Trying to constrain the wife from once more trying to burn candles at both ends!

  118. LizKauai (iPhone) June 21, 2009 9:30 am

CRW- westbound to Sydney- 10 hours= 3 meals and 3 movies on HA. It was quite bearable.

The Charlotte flt. would actually be good for me if I visit my family in FL. I will be sure to bring a couple of Korean plate lunches along for ambience. 😈

  119. Addahknowsports© June 21, 2009 9:31 am

Awww…it seems we also missed Kama, Wreck and Da Kid. Don’t see you guys that often.

For example, a-joe and my dad are doing about two truckloads of bonding from the looks of it.

  124. Committed Road Warrior June 21, 2009 9:48 am

    ai-eee-sos:

Offhand, the cost-of-living in Charlotte and the Research Triangle looks reasonable compared to D.C. and the West Coast. A little bit cheaper than Phoenix from what it appears.

The thing with staying where I am right now in Metro Phoenix is that while rents in terms of nominal costs don’t look too bad, wages here lag BIG TIME compared to both the national average and the overall cost-of-living.

Unfortunately the economy in Phoenix (and Arizona as a whole) has been predicated on real estate and growth (along with its associated industries as well), with little diversification into other industries. North Carolina, while also affected by the economic downturn, appears to have greater potential both now and in the future when things pick up again.

That’s sort of the background as to why over half of the college graduates from Arizona universities leave the state for their first gig out of college…..heading off to places like California, Colorado, and even North Carolina.

Castle Park used to have really good mini-golf courses. Too bad they closed.

The biggest mini-golf course I ever played is in KC, MO out near the Truman Sports Complex (Arrowhead and KC Royals stadiums). Five courses, 18 holes each. Best part is the restroom — because they are air conditioned.

    UHfan808,

Still have to work at stretching out the leg muscles and strengthening the knee. You should see the cupping marks on my back, but it does help, amazingly. Massage at Amy’s Haven; you’d like her massage.

    Jason,

Someday, I need to hear the story associated with “Pretty Woman” & rich2176.

    SteveM,

Thanks for arranging everything. Hope Peaches feels better today.

  160. UHfan808 June 21, 2009 1:46 pm

    Hi g-nalo,
Great catching you here! Been doing okay, mostly working, eating, sleeping. Thanks for the wishes! Was today a golfing day for you?

Say, were you the golfer quoted in the City employee’s newsletter article highlighting a City-owned golf course?

  161. UHfan808 June 21, 2009 1:52 pm

    Mei Ling,

  164. will-i-am June 21, 2009 2:16 pm

I live near you Stephen, I always wanted to know where “plaid” was going. He lives on the outside of the estates, thats all I could figure out.

Did you ever see the guy a few years back with the big hairdo, he had big black hair and always wore black, a black t-shirt, black cargo pants, and black work boots? He used to sit in his carport on a milk crate all day and all night (not exaggerating) he lived near where “plaid” lives. We used to call him “the dude”. One day I saw the dude at the bus stop after a big rain and his big hair wasn’t so big anymore, he looked like a wet cat.

I always wanted to ask both of them what their story was but I didn’t want to freak them out. Job well done. LOL…

I always assumed “plaid” lost his license from a DUI or something.

  165. Cindy C June 21, 2009 2:25 pm

UHfan808, Mei Ling has a beautiful voice. You’ll have to hear her one night.

Lol. Maybe some of the different people that used to live near you found our Windward Coast.

    Got any interesting stories?

    CinC,
Okay, I promise to attend the next KK if Mei Ling sings. Be there no matter what.

al, Dinner prep almost finished? What’s for dinner?

Time to run errands now. Catch up on blog news later. See y’all later!

Word I hear is that UH is looking at 2 or 3 kids from Baldwin High as future recruits. 6’2 Junior linebacker Tavita Malafu and 6’4 sophomore DE Pasoni Tasini and 6’1 Junior kicker CeeJay Santos. Uof Washington and UH
have already check out these kids and Santos is getting feelers from a lot of mainland school, kid has set MIL field goal record at 52 yards and tried one from 56 and was just wide right with lots of distance. I like that finally UH is getting in early on these Maui kids.

    al,

My buddy Rob in CA used to catch & feed cornmeal to the African snails in his yard & prepare escargot after they were cleansed. Now, hearing about the parasite problems causing comas, I wouldn’t go near the buggahs in the yard.

Have a great Father’s Day dinner. Sounds ono! Better ‘en slugs.

    Esme & out…

This is the last post from yesterdays blog.?

    # Niroby:
    June 21st, 2009 at 9:40 am

This is Niroby addressing the eligibility questions….I never attended college….I let someone update my page at one point because I didn’t have a computer..I need to remove some of that stuff. I have all my years left because I never played a down of football ever in college and I thought about attending alabama state when I moved home after my military career but because I didn’t feel comfortable with the school and the way the coaching changes were happening I never enrolled. I never attended UH….I used to hang out there with all the guys and I used to date a girl who was attending while I was stationed in the Army and the Chaminade thing is a no too lol….I came back after Davone and Khevin Peoples supported me walking on and moving back. So I took advice and follow dreams cuz I know I can ball. The questions was do I move back here where I have no family and its just me by myself? But I have great friends so the transition has been a lil easier.

    Good evening Tsai-kos!!

*buuuurp* Just got back from shopping and dinner @ Stuart Andersons. We didn’t have a reservation, so we got on the waiting at list at 5 and was told it would 1.5 hrs. Went to Sams and came back. Got seated at 6:30. Place was packed, with dozens of people waiting outside even when we left at around 7:45. Had the dinner for 2 using the coupon ❗ We both had ribeye and caesar salad. Great deal.

On the way home, my car’s odometer turned. First time I’ve ever had a car go over 100K. Don’t laugh, I was a townie before moving to the Windward side.

Puppy Kai was left alone for 6 hours, but didn’t destroy the house. Goes to the vet tomorrow for his 2nd set of shots (puppy whine).

Feature article on Jake Ingram with quotes from Ikaika Malloe.

Soon enough, Ingram’s abilities to snap the ball rapidly and deliver it to the perfect spot were to difficult to ignore by his teammates, pro scouts and even Ingram himself. Former Hawaii Special Teams coach, now defensive coordinator at Yale University, Ikaika Malloe explained.

“The long snapper position is one of the most important positions on the punt team,” Malloe told Patriots Insider. “His [Ingram] snap is quick enough that it makes for a quicker punt. He also has great accuracy…which allows the punter to be in a smooth rhythm.”

Ingram is recorded to have snaps between 0.65-0.7 seconds, well within the league standards.

“I’ve worked construction, and that’s hard work, and I think that work ethic just kind of carried over onto the football field,” Ingram explained to WEEI.com. “I feel like when something goes wrong with a snap, I’m letting my whole team down.”

Malloe has high expectations for Ingram in the NFL, just as he did at the University of Hawaii, “I truly believe he will be one of the best snappers in the NFL if he continues to get better,” Malloe said. “Jake Ingram, I believe, will set the bar for what a long snapper should have in terms of tools for the NFL. I wish him luck in his career in New England.”

  196. Garret June 21, 2009 9:14 pm

Feature article on Jerry Glanville. Funny story at the end of the article.

Does name recognition give the coach a foot in the door?

“With the parents more than the kids,” Glanville says, laughing. “The parents tell the kids of past achievements, past jobs. These kids weren’t around when we were winning games in Atlanta and Houston, you know? They weren’t even born.”

Glanville was reminded of that in Iraq, he says, when a soldier from Round Rock, Texas, asked him to pose for a photo.

    Why him, the coach wondered.

Recalls Glanville, laughing, “He told me, ‘You’re my grandmother’s favorite coach.’ “

  197. Garret June 21, 2009 9:16 pm

Story about Glanville leaving UH for the Portland State job.

Still, Glanville never dreamed of leading a lower-division college program, even after agreeing to visit Portland State.

“When we flew out here,” he says, “my wife told me, ‘Let’s keep an open mind,’ which meant we weren’t taking the job. But the very first day, she loved the city.

“She said, ‘I could live here.’ ”

Glanville loves it too. He and wife Brenda, married nearly 35 years, live downtown in the hip and trendy Pearl District, which is packed with bars, restaurants and art galleries.

“I loved New York,” says Glanville, who lived in the city when he was a broadcaster, “but I love Portland even better than New York City. My wife misses New York theater, but we’ve got everything here — without the taxicabs and the horns honking.”

  198. MeiLing June 21, 2009 9:37 pm

Lucky, Glanville. I love the Pearl district in Portland. It is very cool.

whitey, don’t know if it makes any difference, but my buddy lives in No. Cal. Thanks for clarifying what type of snail is edible.

Little boy goes to his father and asks ‘Daddy, how was I born?’

The father answers, ‘Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!
Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo.
Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe..
We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.
As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall,
and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

    “You Got Male” 🙂
