Setting up in San Diego
SAN DIEGO — The Warriors will have a modified practice this afternoon ahead of tomorrow night’s road game against San Diego State.
For the second consecutive road game, the Warriors traveled on a non-stop flight to the city where the game will be played.
There should be a sizable Hawaii following for this game. The hotel lobby has set up an H store.
I’ll post photos after today’s practice session.

Oh wait…haha. That was useless…duh.
Let’s give a great winning effort. Hope the large group of fans triggers a great team response
UH not the only school with QB woes. BYU lost 2 backup scholarship QBs who transferred out over the summer not wanting to sit, who are now starting respectively at Southern Utah and at Weber State. BYU lost their starting QB Taysom Hill, and now has a walk on starting there now.
If UH can control SDSU’s running game, they can bring home a “W.” That’s a big IF, but doable with this defense under Coach Klune.
GO WARRIORS!!
good job shoko…hahaaha
Go Bows. I’ll be at the SJSU game.
Good morning everyone!
Top 10 too?
PONO — will list you for SJSU game. Send me an email if your gmail one has changed recently.

UH 28 – Aztecs 14
Finally got to the new post, by going to Court Sense blog, then back to Warrior Beat.
Our chances of beating SDSU ride with our passing game. If we cannot pass then we lose like we did running against Rice, but if we pass we can win like we did the second half against Wyoming. SDSU has a very good running attack and a very good run defense. SDSU’s weaknesses are its passing offense and defense– we need to attack SDSU’s weaknesses and not their strengths.
I like the fact that the team traveled non-stop again.
We will watch the game on channel 1247 cable TV at 4:30 pm.
Go, Warriors!
I want to take Hawaii to win, but going on the road probably not. San Diego State 24, Rainbow Warriors 17. I hope I’m wrong, again.
Good morning Pomai UH 28 San Diego State 21
Healing blessings to all our student/athletes GO RAINBOW WARRIORS

Question is, was Ikaika’s performance last week an anomaly or sign of good things to come. Still don’t think we can rely on him, gonna have to pound the rock with Lakalaka and St Juste and hope the play action works as it did against Wyoming… GO BOWS!!!
Will Beau get a chance ?
San Diego State 28-UH 14
Obviously SDSU’s running game is very good and UH will have trouble stopping them but I think that they will slow them down enough to force them into passing more than they would like and force some turnovers. I also think Lakalaka and St Juste come up big again in this game and take some pressure off of Ikaika.
UH: 35
SDSU: 31
I feel that last week was huge for Woolsey too with his confidence and I think we will start to see more consistently what we wanted to see from him since the beginning.
My guess is Beau will start to allow Ikaika to get as much rest as he can in order to get healthy for the remainder of the season. But a lot will depend on what happens in the 1st quarter.
#16
I hope not, just can’t see success for him with only 1 week of PARTIAL reps with the starters… GO BOWS!!!
To use one of Chow’s mantras -Woolsey gives the best chance to win. I expect a lot of quick passes with the 1st read a short route. Play action and roll outs with simple decisions. For Woolsey and Riley the game plan is KISS.
The better we run the ball the less pressure on the QBs.
Go Rainbow Warriors!
BELIEVE!!
A very big game. We tasted victory and have spent a week as a conference contender. But there is no way around the fact that we will need to win on the road to have a successful season. Do that this week and our confidence grows. Lose this one and it gets much tougher. I hope IW’s second half performance last Sat. was a hint that the light is going on and not a random blip. The margin between victory and defeat for us has been very narrow since last year. That gap can be filled by confidence and belief or widened by the doubt another loss could bring. It has been a pleasant change to spend a week feeling like we have a contender. I could enjoy another such week.
AS UH WR coach said, the “offensive scheme” {plays called} can be a positive or negative item.
many calls up the middle and flat passes where the WR does not move will invite disaster
limited or no calls (see above) can translate to what we witnessed against Wyoming and a win – play to Woosley’s and Saint Juste’s strenths
“what say you” Coach Chow???
This is another must win. See y’all at the game!
eagerly awaiting my daily dose of Tiki808!

Please no. It’s funny and entertaining the first couple posts but now it’s just irritating
watch ur blood pressure # 28 he he he
Last time we had back-to-back wins: Nov. 24 (UNLV) & Dec. 1 (USA) 2012.

I’ve been drinking coffee this morning so it must be up already haha. Then again I would hope I wouldn’t have that problem at this age.
Hawaii on the road is always tough. SDSU has a better offense than Hawaii at this point.

34 San Diego State and 31 Hawai’i. Sunday 9:00 a.m. Storm Ana 70 mph and higher (today), still about 100 miles off Waikiki shores by Sunday. Hawai’i News Now weather tracker.
Howcome, we no more one Fishing team:

well my point has always been …that the away games is really ‘state of mind’ n it can be overcome with a positive attitude..
cuz once the whistle blows…it is the same size field ne where…granted sum times weather conditions.. and or altitude…
good positive teams win ne where… n right now ..seems like most ne way have a good outlook on the game i am sure…n coaches will pump them up…our ‘boys’ are fine…they will come home..n have omelets on monday…
walter n andrew.. was not to long wait huh ….he he he
no more fishing team.. cuz u know how ‘real’ fishermen are… they go up north n catch one 3# salmon.. n come home n on the flight home thev fish groe to 39 pounds he he he..shsssh not mention names here..
reminds me..one time me standing on dock in kona.. n this boat comes in to weigh a marlin… humungous one..sumthing like 900 #…so after all the picture taking etc…guess who stands next to the fish..with rod n reel…ha ha ha n after that me was the greatest ‘fisherman’ in kona…my fishing tale 4 the day…
hey tiki..you ever caught ne fish ?
back to football..
ne one there in san diego can report..how the tailgate went.. n how is the weather ?
Space exploration was the trick that got the satellite in the orbit. Hawai’i News Now weather tracker is connected to a certain frequency that is able to track wind patterns. Neat. At least we’re not in the dark when a disaster strikes.
37.
Whatever, it is what it is already. As soon as I see the name I just scroll past and read past it.
Man Tiki you’re just a wealth of information.
Thanks for the news coverage. We need more up to date planning as this one when a disaster hits. We’re hoping for the best. Happy Halloween. Tracking Ana
Pretty stoked to watch the Boise Fresno game today. The two schools I dislike the most in the MWC but I’m rooting for Boise State. The more the other west schools lose the better.
At least have the correct players go into the game this time. Any army or cop can just sign up and play in the game if they wanted to. What’s the statistics for? I’ll be here all day until 6 p.m.
whats the odds of beau reilly getting into the game?
did kennedy make the trip?
Looks like Chow is keeping things under wraps as to the offense and use of personnel. I’m figuring on Ikaika starting and hopefully, finishing the game. Saint Juste will probably start and carry the bulk of the carries, with Lakalaka being held-out unless necessary. I think we have a chance if we can stop San Diego from establishing their run game.
Dang lost a good one to an old nemesis. Kahuku’s Hirkley Latu. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsbyusports/58533786-65/byu-hall-2016-committed.html.csp
I remember that news. Hawaiian Airlines DC-11 jet/propeller twin engine plane lost control from Big Island to Molokai and crashed. High School kids were in that plane ride. A year earlier there was the Aloha Airlines flight #243 bound for Maui Airport flying 30,000 feet without any fuselage in the upper front part of the airplane. It landed safely, but many were injured and 1 flight attended died. It just goes to show that they can never be too careful with proper procedures for the cockpits flying in Hawai’i. FAA
Larry Ellison got nothing on this UH grad. Now this is giving back. http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/news/2014/10/17/shidler-ups-university-of-hawaii-business-school.html
HHSAA will have a tournament in Aloha Stadium in November. Kapa’a High School has wrapped up the KIF title. I would be interested to see how they fair against OIA/ILH on O’ahu. Interesting fact, KIF have never taken a division II title in HHSAA history. Steven Lakalaka may be that good after all.
I was just curious, are they afraid to fly? HHSAA is a different league from that of NCAA. It’s just interisland flights from Kaua’i to O’ahu and only 20 minutes tops to 30 minutes minimum to get to Honolulu from Kaua’i. What are they thinking? Who will support the travel and league to get them here? Car washes, bake sales, dances, what will they do? Many activities are happening and will have to take place before they get the needed money to come to Honolulu. What do the students/football players say about this situation? excited or not?
Here’s the way I’m viewing this tournament in HHSAA state football championships 2014. Flight travel is a problem for outer island teams. But with added money they may make it through. However, NCAA is a bigger step towards a championship title and for one to participate in, would be a player’s ultimate goal. UH football is the goal for many student/football players to go to and succeed in. Only the few and elite will have a chance to play. A different standard and rules apply for both cases. Money is an important factor in both case scenarios. Other than hurricane watches every now and then, it’s a go for anyone willing to participate in these events. I felt this was the real feelings behind everyone’s decisions for outer island residents.
Fresno 10 – Boise 10, two and half minutes left in 1st Q
Does anyone know if the location of the MWC championship game is based on who has the better overall record between the two, or who has the better conference record?
Whoever has the highest power ranking.
Power rating? I’ll give some to Hawai’i. But because they’re 1 or 2 inches smaller than most teams, they always go with the eye and flip out and give the win to the other teams. Too bad!
“hey, when are those Earth, Wind, and Fire tickets coming in?”, “you know I’m planning to take my little brother to the concert?” Is that you’re little brother, he’s a good looking kid. I haven’t heard of it yet, but as soon as I hear it, I’ll let you know. Charles Jefferson and little brother. ….?
Fresno State is proving why a two-quarterback systems doesn’t always work.
Excited for another victory! I’ll be there supporting the team. Go Warriors!
Keep us posted on the Score!
TGIF!
Revisit the doctor and check if the dosage needs to be increased.
Good luck to all the high school playoff teams.

$7.50 x 6 = $45, $45 x 3 = $135, $135 x 2 = $270 for 2 weeks. They had part time jobs working nights around their schedules. What they can’t figure out is how a player can afford to travel 6 times to the mainland and for 4 years and still make payments? This was asked by someone coming from the south shores Off east O’ahu, Waikiki. Anyone want to add parents of kids.
27-17 Boise st. 3rd QTR
Hey, Fresno State has shinny, Oregon type, helmets.
$7,200 in travel payments for Jason Muraoka. $600 dollars per ticket to the mainland. $1,200 x 6 = $7,200 dollars. Misleading is if you see a problem child as Joey Iosefa. Can he afford to pay some of this for 5 years? Probably not. Who pays it? You the fans buying tickets. “JV”.. Anyway, does this sound correct? I’m not for youths. This are serious questions to answer. Where’s the money?
Fresno looks like UNLV.
@22. That is funny.
You quote a guy who doesn’t know how to win to support your argument.
Classic bean.
Thanks for the laughs.

$36,000 dollars in depth and bachelors of Arts degree. Can you figure Joey Iosefa? Or Sean Shigematsu? Serious money issues they’re facing. The fans are the ones who are supporting them. The tickets bought helps pay for these expenses. Where can they work after their career in bachelors of Arts? Chris Tanaka show on Hawai’i News Now? How much do you think they pay? And to pay off that depth? I think not. But where?

Clarify:
debt: money owed to someone else.
depth: deepness of the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, 18,000 feet below sea level
JV: Junior Varsity
Career: a job with a salary or hourly
Payments: a plan of paying part of some money owed to a lender. Usually a bank
Money: medium of exchange, paper, to be used to buy goods in a market
Travel: as in a airplane to the mainland
Watching the Temple game on ESPNU and Keith Kirkwood just scored a TD. I thought if you transfer you must sit a year out?
C’mon Boise. Don’t let us down
Kirkwood got his hardship waiver approved.
This is only for entertaining myself and the blog. Entertainment $75/ticket at Aloha Stadium, upper North end zone seats. That is the value of the seat. Is there a value for playing in a college game? That is a personal matter. What value does each player possess after a career at UH football? Joey Iosefa for example, what value to you think he possess? Would you hire him for a job? How much would you pay him? Serious personal questions here to ask a fan or payer or customers.

Fei Jai. I’m glad I made you laugh. It’s a real compliment coming from a proven comedian as yourself.
BTW. I should have made myself clear that I was responding to #20 about starting Beau. Everyone knows how Chow thinks.
Again. I must compliment your English tutor. He’s doing a job. Your grammar and vocabulary is much improved since you first got off the boat and landed here.
I was curious about some of the hotels in Waikiki. During hurricane Iniki in 1991 or 1992, whenever this was, did they open the hotels up for the residents or homeless as shelter? The Outrigger East Hotel for example, did they make room for residents who’ve lost their wooden homes from the strong winds on the island? During emergency times they might have opened it up for people stuck on the streets to just come in and sleep. Lynn Kawano
boise won…. wow…. puts in a very good position now.. we got zero losses so far…
I am happy off a short note about the Waikiki International Marketplace opening sometime next year in 2015. It is being renovated. It is located behind the “world famous” Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort”. Used to be home to the “world famous” singer Don Ho who died a few years ago. The song tiny bubbles. Something to think about if you’re a local resident. They had a show here in the 1970s, Hawai’i Five 0 starring Jack Lord. I think the General Manager at present is Simeon Miranda. But that was in 1962. A long time ago for football fans to remember. Go Aztecs and a 34 to 31 win over UH. Really?
Beau going to start, 90 % probability. Ikaika has fracture at base of spine or something, limping around. Prater taking reps too, today. Per B Curran on sports animals. Don’t tell the opposition.
San Diego runs something like a 4 – 2- 5 defense.
At Anaheim Ducks home opener. Will drive to San Diego tomorrow for Rainbow Warriors game.
According to the sports animals Beau Riley will start tomorrow.
But Ikaika too all the first team snaps today, per Stephen .
But Ikaika took all . . .
Don Ho was where everyone gathered together to sing songs. It was located on the 3rd floor of this hotel mentioned in Waikiki. The year was 1976 and I was just beginning my year in hotel supervisory. I saw all kinds of employees over the years. One worker I had complained he had too much to do and so we took away some and he got placed on call. When he called me up to work I said OK, you can come in. But what he didn’t know is that I was smarter. I told all personnel not to look at the hula dancers any more or talk to anyone and I also instructed that no courtship would be allowed for better working relations. Any violations would be imprisonment or fired. Human relations got the news and signed it as official. It’s been 30 years plus for me into this hotel industry and I’ve seen them all. Do Ho was my favorite time of my career. Good bye to Don Ho.
At 80
You much too kind, bean
I copy and paste comment from Internet, put norm name, and wahlah!
You compriment my engrish. Tank you, bean.
Christ. You guys need to settle down with this “we’re in a good position to win the conference because we have no losses!” talk. we’re 1-0. and wyoming wasn’t very good, especially on the road. wait for a few more conference games before you get all excited about winning the conference (whatever value that has to you guys, when previously there really wasn’t a value to it before. but such is the fate of very bad teams. you care about conference in a mid major when you can’t win non-conference).
Coach Chow said in an interview couple of weeks ago that Beau Reilly was working out with the strength coach since he is of slight built and Bobby Curran agreed and somewhat chuckled. I have seen Beau on the sidelines and he looks skinny. Doesn’t look like he can take a blindside hit. Also, he hasn’t played in a game for years. I hope the best for him but doesn’t look good if he starts. But what choice does UH have if Ikaika Woolsey is hurt?
Is Reilly really starting?
91.
I’m just hoping the other west teams lose as many games as possible. The more they lose the better for us
Kapernick was real skinny at Nevada, he must’ve gained 20 lbs of muscle since then.
You are right. Kapernick was skinny but fast and elusive so it was hard to get a good angle on him. He was also very tough. Beau is a drop back type and does not have speed like Kapernick.
Aloha Tsaiko Nation, the turbo convertible is all gassed up and will be FLYING on the 405 heading South for reception brunch and game tomorrow morning. Looking forward meeting some GREAT Hawaii fans in sunny San Diego and sharing fellowship with my former bows of yester years. Aztecs will be a tough game but the Warriors will be represented by some livid/avid fans that will be screaming and yelling their okoles off all over Quarlcom Stadium.
I will be one of them. Let’s Go Bows !
#93. In answer to you question, see #84 and #86.
96.– In his high school videos, it shows him running a lot, besides passing. His profile said he played volleyball as a setter and basketball too.

Did Joey Iosefa make the flight? Just for the paper work. #7 is written down and so still needs to be strictly as usual business. Until November 11, 2014 which is the court date.
Kaiser no match for Mililani. 27-0, 29 sec remaining in the 1st Q.
What Joey Iosefa according Norm Chow? OK. What arrest also for the cops intelligence? Right? da?
Hawai’i Five 0 new series. 939 strip club Keeaumoku st. scene #1
89. –Tiki, were you with Don at Duke’s ? Maybe not.
your move UH football. Halawa scene
No! I was one of the room attendants, then moved my way up to room serv ice waiters, before hitting supervisor in the dining area until they broke down. Duke’s wasn’t around then. Basically Duke’s are for hoales, of which not many locals attended. Sucks! But the job was there for me after UH in 1972-1976 just about. I took up a lot of courses in business and science.
No I do not attend strip clubs. But in 1976 not many were around. Club Hubba Hubba was far from UH campus. So #4 bus after the job was the only time. It would usually be on Friday nights. I worked hard in school, but needed a way to rid myself of stress. This was one way.
LET’S GO BEAU ! LET’S GO BEAU !
Are you a stripper? If so, are you looking for someone to love ?
Tiki is great from the 808. SDST is bad, make the Warriors mad. Kick the Az, so Tiki will be glad.
Suck em up, tiny bubbles, I’ll remember you, ain’t no big thing, Beachcomber Hotel ?
hoales and haoles.

F. Jai. Copy and paste? You’re a better man than me. I don’t know how to do that, honest injun. Don’t even have a cell phone.
How do you like American football? I know they don’t play this game where you come from If you any questions about the sport you’re more than welcome to ask anyone here. There’s a lot more people who are much kinder than me who would be happy to answer your questions.

cocobean: what are you talking about? why are you assuming fei jai is an immigrant?
me think he is pake…no offense to those of chinese extraction here….but not pure…..more like chinoy…he he he
ne way…does it make ne difference what race a person is on here…just fodder for some…n 4 those who are into that….we should keep race out of this blog.. n let be the laST TIME WE SEE IT….when we meet at the market…me will know…i will watch him buy manok…or shoe-my…or maybe bangus…hmmmm sarap that one…that will be a dead give away…
today has more important things to blog about…
IMUA WARRIORS…
4-PRONG… you know the saying…if waddles like a duck…quacks like a duck….lays duck eggs… must be a duck..
he uses a chinese name…always quoting that chinese dude…confucious…n loves coach chow…just my take why coco thinks like that…but surely a very wild guess..
Is it HS playoffs already? Felt like it just started a month ago.
yeah abut if he is a chinese immigrant (which i doubt), then why are we making fun of his language and accent and his english speaking skills? for all this weeping and gnashing of teeth about “terms of service,” it seems to me that doing this racial stuff violates those much more than saying that norm chow sucks or ikaika woolsey is a terrible qb or whatever.
4-P.
Come on man. We both know he’s not. You understand what sarcasm is right?
To me he’s the one making fun of “immigrant” Chinese by using stereotypical phrases one uses when making fun of them.
He’s faking it. You can tell by the way he spells the words. It looks very forced.
well 4 me..if i have offended him.. surely he will ‘speak up’..n if he does..then me will apologize of course.in tagalog…or bisayan…me no can do chinese…unless me go ‘google it’…
football… man it seems like st louis is coming around a bit huh…wonder what ‘chinatown’ says the spread is when they face punahou again…????
KAHUKU N FARRINGTON AGAIN…ME GOT THAT RIGHT ???
DANG… going get sum good games next week…
Dang, ding, ding, late ?
cocbean: of course. he’s obviously not a chinese immigrant. and yeah, you’re right. he’s using stereotypical phrases to make fun of them to an extent (after all, for those who believe he’s actually an immigrant, do you guys REALLY think chinese people walk around quoting confucious all day?). It’s just some kind of weird shtick/persona he has here. like tiki and his nonsensical (and annoying) posts.
I’m just saying, that unless you make it known that you’re insulting his persona here an that’s how it’s working (because apparently a lot of people don’t), there are better (and way more effective things to say) to troll back at him than basically using the “ching chong language” approach.
and i’m also entertained that people here (not necessarily you, cocobean) will whine about “Terms of Service” when someone says woolsey isn’t a good qb, like “THEY’RE ONLY KIDS! SUPPORT OUR ATHLETES! AND CHOW! YOU NON-FANS, YOU!”, and warrior world moderators are like “delete delete delete! ban ban ban!” but nobody says crap about what appears to be racial comments.
mililani is the class of the OIA. the recruiting is going well there.
Wonder what Joe Montana thought when his son, Nick, spiked the football on fourth down.
