Penitito Faalologo is on the move again.
Faalologo, who was raised in American Samoa, was recruited as a linebacker. He was used there briefly before moving to defensive end. While redshirting as a freshman last fall and during the past spring training, he was at fullback and H-back.
This offseason, Faalologo has been training with the intent of playing nose tackle in training camp. Faalologo appears to have the tools to be a point defender — strength, compact build and, in football parlance, a good “motor.”
With the Warriors expected to go with wider sets on offense — and, of course, Joey Iosefa as the featured back —Faalologo probably will be more useful on defense.
Moses Samia is listed as the No. 1 nose tackle on the post-spring depth chart. Marcus Malepeai is No. 2. Calen Friel also can be used at nose tackle.
