Mouton plans to run at combine
Despite suffering a slight hamstring problem in East-West Shrine Game, Ryan Mouton believes he is healthy enough to compete in the 40-yard dash Tuesday.
Mouton and David Veikune arrive at the NFL Scouting Combine tomorrow. The defensive ends are scheduled to run the 40-yard dash Sunday. The DBs will run on Tuesday.
Mouton, who now weighs 187 pounds, is aiming for a 40-inch vertical jump and a 40-yard time in the low 4.4s.

Run, Ryan, run!
If Mouton is healthy, he should do great. That guy has a lot of speed.
How’s your nose doing, Tsai?
Top 5?
Sorry to break your streak, DPK.
top 10.
cheepono out.
Top 10
How tall is Mouton? 40″ vertical is huge.
GO RYAN!!!
I hope that Mouton runs a very, very fast time! Those few seconds can literally change lives…
Blackie-
I stopped posting to give others some top ten love… 😉
What’s the word on Adam Leonard and Solly?
Twenty-something years and 50-something pounds ago, my vertical jump was around 36 inches. With my height, I could almost dunk a basketball – on an eight foot basket (like the kind at elementary schools).
Article about how South Dakota isn’t surprised that some school hired Coach Shaw away from them.
Article about how the tough economy is forcing colleges to cut back on athletic department spending…the article mentions how UH probably won’t be hosting WAC championships after this year. I would love for the WAC to have their conference tournaments in Vegas instead of Reno or other WAC cities.
Those measurables will be huge for Mouton, I hope he does well. Teams didn’t throw to him, so film is kinda scarce, hence the lack of attention. A good time, a good vertical, and good drills (they will want to gauge his ability to read routes in man and zone, and how quickly he breaks) can lead to a very fast ascent on draft boards.
I haven’t seen anyone mention the ESPN 1420 Magazine article on UH recruiting, and I couldn’t find the article online, so I typed the quotes (not the whole article because I didn’t want to violate copyright issues) from the article up to preserve the information. Some of these quotes provide great information from Rich Miano.
Another good one, which makes the point that the local recruits often give back to the communities they are from.
Other schools are definitely getting more aggressive in recruiting!
Funny story about how UH discovered its starting QB.
I’ll stop now and get back to work…
I wonder why they never time DB’s running backwards?
I must be getting hungry…..
🙄
I’ll say it again, since it was at the end of the last blog…Happy Birthday to Committed Road Warrior
Happy Birthday Committed Road Warrior!
(thanks djmitcho)
Are the participants paid for appearing in the combine? by the league? or advanced from their agents?
I can dunk on a Playskool Easy Dunk basketball toy.
Good Morning everyone!
Good luck (and 40 time) to Ryan Mouton!
…another work day for me. 😐
…on the road again
Happy Birthday Committed Road Warrior!
The state of Florida has huge budget problems…and Orange County (which includes Orlando) is looking at cutting high school sports!
For those that missed homey’s bio…..

DUFFER:
I left a message on the previous blog – will be on Maui on Tuesday seeing a client and I owe you guys lunch if you are available.
Will also visit 333 Dairy Road! I think that Whitey mentioned also that Kitchen Cook is still open for business – is this true?
Break 70!.
Tom,
I’ll plan on that……
And yes Kitchen Cook is still open. Want to order some?
Ahhh, joje ran her 50m at 9.38, I guess no combine for her

Hemp grows wild on the sides of the road in the mid-west but unfortunately that variety of hemp has a very low THC content useless to smoke or ingest in brownies or the like. lol I can picture the local guys with you looking for buds and wondering why no buzz…
Hey, I want tickets
“Hey, I want tickets,”
Hey, i want tickets.
I wonder if the guys are drug tested at the pro day or at the combine. I think there are some ointments that might help a pulled hamstring, but not sure if they are banned. They would show up in the urine if tested.
Hey, ST I want tickets.
Howzit Everybody,
Been lurking the past couple of days. Good luck to Jake, Ryan, and David on their combines. Hopefully Ryan can test well so that he can move up the draft board. Also good luck to David and hopefully he can get picked by Arizona so that we can have two Hawaii boys as D-ends next year.
Ok. Hey, I want tickets!
ST any info on when they plan on naming the new defensive coach and a new GA. Is there anymore info on the realignment of the coaches positions.
Hauoli Lahanu ❗ Committed Road Warrior and Truegreen ❗
ExtremeSkins message board is discussing a what if scenario featuring Colt and June Jones. Too funny!

Coach Zorn at the Combine:
“On if he is familiar with all the players available in the draft and free agency:
“The only thing I’m getting up to speed with is really the college guys because we’ve had to evaluate our own, we’ve had to evaluate the free agents, and now, I’m going a hundred miles an hour on these college guys. Right now, today, it was kickers, punters, it was long snappers, it was tight ends and o-line. I’ve done some surface stuff before I got here, but it was all surface. It was just trying to get an overview. This is great time for me because it allows me to dig deep and get further in to these players that are here.”
Sitting here eating an apple and jello while the Tsukuji cattle call is in progress reminds me… who besides LizKauai is going to have the nabeyaki udon sometime during Saturday night?
Want to warn cuz …email me (no, you will not be obligated…just don’t want to sell out in the first half hour like last summer) 😐
Happy birthday, Committed Road Warrior and Truegreen!
Good luck at the Combine, Ryan & David. There’s one more player who I don’t remember going to the Combine, too. Success to all.
More from Zorn at the Combine:
On Brennan…
“His goal is to try to unseat Todd. Todd’s goal is to try to stay as close to Jason as he can. It’s gonna be a great competition. I look forward to it.”
don’t forget, UH plays Fresno on espn2 at 6pm this evening.
Commmited Road Warrior and Truegreen:
Happy Birfday and many more to come!

Mahalo for everyone’s birthday wishes, and Happy Birthday Truegreen!
Figured today would be light and easy, but alas I’ve been busy all day…..on the phone with some folks regarding a government project for my capstone paper and haggling with my bank to try to get a check of mine that got stuck in the ATM machine out of there (to no avail). Tsigh!
Best of luck to Ryan Mouton, David Veikune, and Jake Ingram at the combine. Is Tsai gonna be on the mainland to cover it, or will he still be on the rock?
Touching story…true sportsmanship and compassion!

Happy Birthday CRW!!
That was a very touching story Rob25 (tears almost welled up in my eyes).
Thanks al for the cc. Would have been better if the host was there on time.
Cool, thanks for the birthday wishes!
And Happy Birthday to Committed Road Warrior! How are you celebrating?
I went to GS Studio for karaoke. 50% off on your special day. Sang my one Japanese song that I know. =)

“Hey, I want tickets.”
Hi truegreen!
Nice to hear you’re having some fun on your special day. For me, it’s been just another day aside from the stuff from my post #61 above. I’ll probably take a short snooze, try to catch part of the UH/Fresno game on TV later tonight, then go in to work as usual.
What’s the phrase here? Same stuff, different day (corrected for PG rated audiences).
Happy Birthday Committed Road Warrior!
a belated Happy Birthday to Truegreen too!
Was it Feb 15?
first things first…
hey, i want the tickets.
(if i win give em to tom)
hbirthday….crw and truegreen.
btw, truegreen you haven’t posted in a long time. i have a question. are you related to those drugstore folks?
Happy Birthday to CRW and Truegreen! 🙂
According to the Washington State athletics site, tickets for the UH-WSU game at Qwest Field (in Seattle) will go on sale to the general public June 1st.. WSU season-ticket holders will get first dibs starting March 28th.
I’m still up in the air about attending this game…..about 40% certainty right now. Vegas is 100% garanz.

nice gathering today. sorry i was late, but, business called so i couldn’t refuse since i was made an offer i couldn’t refuse.
we learned a lot of interesting stories today at the cc. but, i am sworn to secrecy. after all, what happens at a cattle call stays at a cattle call.
If I wasn’t at the cc my ears would have been itching like heck during lunch. I wonder if (J)J ears were itchy?
Happy birthday CRW and turegreen
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRW
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TRUEGREEN
duffer – Did you really believe that bio?
Hey! To two of the most “inspired” names on the blog:
Truegreen and Commited Road Warrior,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
i still think that makino’s @aloha twr is the best jpse buffet.
(j)j’s phone was itchy, too.
Thanks for the enjoyable lunch. Did my site visit to make my early return from Kauai official.
WARNING Chawan, while UH is a SUPERIOR team to the Bulldogs, this is WAC officiating and on national tv.
Try to relax tonight. If I don’t see you on the blog immediately after the game I am sending paramedics to your house!
by now one would think that the ad dept would have analyzed the weight training program to discover the root of all our hamstring problems. it is obvious to me that something is amiss in this regards because that seems to be such an abnormal number of injuries.
stretch….so did you return to the walmart vicinity?
Kazz – FYI and entertainment, Hawaii is 4 point UNDERDOGS
Stretch – hope you enjoyed the corn pictures.
al – Pride. would say, “That was Japanese food?”
ryan, david, and jake, good luck at the combine….go warriors….
al – no I am in the office now, trying to wrap up.
so did you hear that sorabol closed its doors?
someone should have talked to the owners and influenced them into expanding their cocktail services.
to take it from hawaii’s history pages. a korean restaurant in the early sixties was struggling to make ends meet and decided to expand its cocktail service to include a “stage”. after awhile no one even knew about the great korean food. it did however give birth to many a new “club”. it used to be called arirang’s on kaheka st.
al – probably it’s just a case of weak hamstrings. I got info from a very wise man that you can use just an exercise ball and bands to strengthen just about every muscle in your body.
“Hey, I want tickets.”
Arirangs? Wasn’t that a ping pong and cigar smoking place?
Belated Happy Birthday to trugreen!
😳

raw eggs too. or were they boiled? might have been raw and came out cooked.
homey,
good place to get quarters…..
uhhhh…on second thought, maybe not!
and not to forget the roll of quarters without the coin wrapper.
homey-
It was one o’ them “packin’ and smugglin'” places that Jorge knows so much about. 😆
From what I hear….
boiled.
They were shelled first.
At least that’s what I hear…. 🙄
oops. d1 you beat me to it. i see that you had the kim chee there too.
d1 i thought they were shelled in the process?
probably ended up in the bi bim bap.
Pfffftttttt………. HA! Shows what Vegas knows! 😆
Final score – UH 68 FSU 52.
Follow-up prediction:
In a few days we will hear about an internet article in which some “poor old Fresno fan” was assaulted by a “Samoan” man and was seen with other “Samoan” people spitting on Fresno State fans while the Bulldog faithfull are reading the bible and busy donating to charity while helping old ladies walk across the street…
(God I hate them. Aloha Stadium will be fun this season….)
Hey, I want tickets.
Hope the team plays well today and impresses on ESPN(?). Seems like they’re coming together at the right time. Can you imagine how good this team will be at the same time next year?? I can.
Mahalo Al for all that you did for us today. Diana was very excited to have met such a knowledgable la’au lapa’au practioner. The herbs should promote the healing of her wounds.
protector which team are you referring to?
kekoa, diana……a tsaiko do for his brother and sister as they would do unto he.
i could see diana’s anxiety go away when she learned that they were from the same home town. unbelievable coincidence of sorts.
aloha.
pot roast in the oven….its nap time.
Note to ‘homey’ & ‘Al : You guys are Kolohe! Mention of Arirang brings back some memories I will never forget; we have to compare notes sometime.
Hmmm….
Nap time sounds like a good plan but….
I wonder what I can get done in, say, the next 45 minutes?
Hey, I want tickets
What’s Arirang?? I don’t think I am old enough to know that place

homey and al what about the flute playing and the cursive writing?

Hey Al, after the show with da quarter changer, cigar, candle, match book, eggs etc, who da heck was thinking about fuud?
😮 😆 😀
so sorry forgot good afternoon you’all
esme whooooooooooooooooshhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Stretch – It’s ok. We don’t want to confuse your naive mind
thank you for being so considerate
Al (#73): Nope, no relation. Hey how did you know my name? You must be one akamai detective.
Yup, I’ve turned into occasional lurker these days. Kinda disappeared after NOLA and the JJ rally. But still browse and occasionally post, especially in the top 5. No 20 consecutive posts for me these days though…
So guess what Chef is back home in the islands? Yeah baby! Great to be back on rock.
Wait…What? Somebody on this wonderful blog has the same birthday as the chef? Whoa cuz…Happy Birthday to you too!
Hey, I want tickets.
RE: Cupholders at Les Murakami Stadium.
I heard they are only on the bottom level? I just assumed they are on ALL the seats. During Hawaii Winter League Baseball they only had the bottom level ready so I just thought the whole stadium would have them!
Ah! Oh well… still cheap seats and cheap eats! I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awwww….chef. you should’ve been there. i owed you lunch.
hbday to you too.
gee guys…. the kalbi was always tasty.
stretch, your father would have known. go ask your uncles about the place. there isn’t a guy i know that didn’t at least go there once. heck, maybe your mother knows cuz many women went out of curiosity and left in envy.
kazz are you serious about the cup holders?
well, if so, then that would be lingle’s lameduck legacy. another half empty project. looks good from one perspective but when you look closely lots were swept under the rug.
“Hey, I want tickets.”
What’s this about Sorabol closing its doors? I called and they’re still in business. Had shmall kine panic attack…they have the best butterfish chige (stew) in town!
i swear i read that on somebody’s blog?
but, they still should take up my idea.
sorry al my bud…the plane landed at 1pm so i would have loved to be there.
Al,
Yeah I remembered hearing it from Coach Trap on the Rob and Russ show either this week or last week.
If I didn’t hear about it I would have been real disappointed this weekend and I would have marched up to the box to call Papa Leahey a “liar”!!!
But either way it’s good to have such a nice looking facility on campus. It’s the “jewel” of UH Manoa Athletics in terms of a facility, but hopefully sooner than later the Ching Complex will take that title.
Duffer . . .
Last post #347. Thanks a lot. NOT!
Besides i already did one.
Only on the bottom level?! Geez, that’s crazy.
Had a great time at the cattle call. I SO wanted to sleep in class today. My friend even offered me his energy drink, haha. I’m still partial to Todai, but Tsukiji was pretty good. Spacious, albeit very busy today with that large group.
Shave ice is nice, but I still prefer having crêpes.
And Pride, don’t you dare touch my dessert plate, else you’ll run home crying. 😉
Hey, I just got an e-mail from Momo, Garret’s dad. Did you guys know the basketball game on Saturday is a green and white night?
http://www.hawaiiathletics.com/sports/2009/2/16/MBB_0216093825.aspx?id=96
jason,
so sad you didn’t know that. heh.
i’ll be late. i’m warning you now. i gotta go to a 1st bday party for a little while and then run away to the game.
remember that AZ rancher who got sued by the Mexicans who came across the border thru his property?
The suit got thrown out but he still was ordered to pay $77000.00!
His atty. expects to get that back on appeal but Mexicans continue to come into AZ thru his property.
Forgot to put the link.
click on my name if you interested.
chawan_cut: Actually, I’m debating whether to go to the basketball game or go to Club Genji and see las vegas. I don’t want to stay out too late, so both isn’t an option. I think I’m leaning toward the latter …
Welcome home 808Chef! 🙂
jason…. 2 home games left!
Left to go where?
Jason,
u got mail

FIRST HOMECOMING KARAOKE CALL

Club Genji
Japanese, English & Hawaiian karaoke w/enka and oldies!
• suggested attire: Tsai-ko black or Mardi Gras (Midnight’s suggestion)
• RSVPs not required — we have the whole lounge again
* email me for parking tips and other tips if you have not been to Genji’s at night under 50+ pax conditions.
chawan_cut: I know! And I’m going to miss Senior Night (with no seniors) because I’ll be at Relay for Life. Choices, choices!
d1: Yep, got it, thanks!
Al can anyone attend a cc to meet other Tsaikos or is it a secret club?
I don’t care what color night it is, I just want the UHAD to settle on one color for all sports and ask fans to always wear the color to all games…it would be awesome if everyone wore green to all UH sports…imaging seeing the stands filled with green only
Ralph: Geez, you’ve been grumpy lately. UH always advocates UH green, but sometimes they do these color things to mix things up. Unfortunately, not all the fans get the message — or choose to ignore it.
bstunna2002 — any event (Cattle Call, Karaoke Call, Tailgate, Blog Party, etc.) that is posted on the blog is open to everyone. Just say you are coming (for planning purposes). Everyone welcome!
Re: Tonight’s Basketball Game
The optimistic side of me says the team should just try their best to keep on winning conference matchups to try and improve their seeding for the WAC Tournament, but the ‘realistic’ side of me says that taking all of the other conference teams into consideration, I don’t think they’ll move up much further…..heck they could probably drop a spot if things go south.
Happy birthday to CRW, 808Chef and truegreen!
d1:
There’s only one way for the rancher to address his problem:
Sell refreshments.
Hey, it’s the American way.
Good evening(?) Tsai-kos!!
Hey, I want tickets.
First of all, Happy Birthday to CRW and truegreen and 808chef(?) !!!
Welcome home 808chef!!
Had a great time at the cc today. Food is overrated and overpriced. Still think Makino is better, never been to Todai. Anyone been to Hanaki (Manoa Mktplace) recently? Is it worth a cc there?
Good luck to the Warriors at the combine.
Good luck to the bball team tonight. The game Sat night is NOT being televised.
With another big weekend of UH promotions, I just want to take this time to THANK JIM DONOVAN AND HIS STAFF!!!
For 17.00 (8.00 MAX at Les Murakami then 9.00 at the Stanley by showing your stub from baseball) you can spend ALL Saturday at UH taking in up to three games (dbl header for baseball and a basketball game).
My estimations on my spending this Saturday:
3.00 for parking
6.00 for the second game of the double header
5.00 for a chili frank plate at Les Murakami
1.85 for a soda
4.00 for an Italian Ice
9.00 for the basketball game
5.40 for bumbucha nachos
1.85 for a soda
TOTAL – $36.10 for about six hours of sporting events.
Last year it would have been:
3.00 for parking
7.00 for baseball double header
5.00 for chili frank plate
3.50 for italian ice
2.50 for soda
22.00 for basketball game
6.75 for bumbucha nachos
2.50 for soda
Total in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 – $52.25.
.
.
.
THANK YOU JIM DONOVAN!!!!!!!!
Honestly speaking. Almost EVERY UH home basketball game has had some sort of promotion to get half off the upper level seats. Of the 12 games I’ve been to I can’t remember the last time I paid full price for upper level seats. Maybe the home opener but that’s about it.
I expect to see this trend continue through next season.
Kind of reminds me of the suit by the Mexican government demanding the US put water stations in Arizona because so many illegals were dying in the desert.
According to the ticker, the UH-Fresno State game can be seen on ESPN360.com as well, if you don’t have access to a TV with ESPN2, and if you have ESPN360.com access (not every ISP supports this — Oceanic Time-Warner does not).
zzzzzz….what???
oh the boss is home. nap over, only 9 minutes, darn it. my fault. i shouldn’t have added potatoes and carrots.
chef…..when do you go back? can try again next week.
bstunna…..you should have just come on down. see you at the next one.
okay, gotta make one salad now.
It didn’t occur to me til now that UC Irvine’s baseball AND basketball teams are gonna be in town this weekend. Interesting.
This Bolla business is getting nastier by the day…
oh oh
mike knows something…. i know he can;’t tell though.
ok, back to the men’s game.
Two words for MBB: tip drill
jmxxx,
It was great seeing you today!
IIRC one of the last times I was at a CC at Makino there was kind of a huhu by an asst. mgr about how long we had the table.
Usually at Hanaki, I get the same kind of “rushed” feeling.
With the usual “wala’au time” at the CC’s, dat’s not a real good ting….
JMHO 🙂
As far as Tsukiji, it is higher priced but the fresh tempura (I think some may have noticed that I really like that!) and the made-to-order udon add value for me.
…besides, as far as value goes, I have no idea why al is even thinking about dinner! I still full!
…maybe beau could use a walk at halftime. 😉
hey I want tickets (if not too late)
I like the effort so far…
What is with all the turnovers? Is this Chez Ronald’s?
However, I’m glad no one on the court is a WR in FBall!
Where’s the Bows playing for their Bracket Buster game, I want tickets
alnbama,
UC-Irvine at the SSC
d1島 — As I recall, we never had a problem with how long we had the tables at Makino Chaya. The problem has always been that they expect X number of use to fit in the same number of chairs and spacing designed for 100 lb Japanese tourists.
We need Tsai-ko sizing and Al and I have had many arguments with managers about this in the early days. We learned to ask Pride. with his winning smile to negotiate more space with the manager — charms ’em every time! 🙂
SteveM,
I stand corrected.
It seemed like the issue was time because I caught wind of it towards the end of our visit; besides being more interested in “other things” earlier 😉
I want tickets!
I also want the BB team to spend a lot more time on free throw practice. Geez!!
I like Tsukiji’s better than Makino because of the ramen, tempura, and the fresher looking sushi. JMHO also.. Great company as always!
????
Isn’t that the point of the game?
Live w/ the delay…
I’m listening to BC! 🙄
Rob25,
Just a thought.
It’s gotta be killin’ Frank to read about the CC’s…
Test of “heart” here Rainbow Warriors.
beau time!
I AM ALL EARS SIR.
Yay, it’s the IBM math commercial. I love that commercial. 🙂
Thanks d1, was thinking they might be on the road, they rarely get a bracket buster at home.
al:
re your #126 – don’t bet cause if someone come ask me, you going lose.
my going to bar days were over by then.
So what is this Tsai-ko combine that I heard about. What events are they going to have. I need to know how to prepare.
I used to run the 5 yard dash in 2.5. I’m sure I’m much slower now.
Flexibility test used to be touching your ankles without pulling a hamstring. Can’t do that anymore.
Tsai-ko Combine? Who has accurate enough hour glasses for the times?
Vertical jump test is now, “can you tiptoe?”
Now on my IQ test, I just write, how do you spell I-Q?
C’MON GUYS!
FOCUS!!!!
I must sound verbose, because no one from the TSAI-KO scouting services is responding.
Sorry Chawan didn’t mean to ruin your basketball game.
I need to buy a television so that I can watch the game too.
huh, my eye sight test used to be seeing toes when standing…
d1 – Frank was chatting with me before I left the office and said that it sucks that he misses all the CCs and KKs. I told him there’s going to be plenty of opportunity for that when he gets home.
I thought that was a foul on Nitoto as he was driving towards the basket!
Pride – I can give birth in two hours…does that count for anything? Guess it wouldn’t be in the Tsaiko combine.
I hope that they don’t play to lose in the closing minutes of the game…like they did last weekend! *tsigh*

Hiya Tsaikos.
Mike.
Chawan_cut panting ova dayah.
Kazz groveling ova heeah.
c’mon, Mike, did he threaten UH?
we’re getting away from the real issue, imo. its not if we can prove he kicked a girl. its if the team thinks he is a first rate horse’s i$$.
kick him out, pay him $$$, some now, some later, reduced by XX if he lands another gig coaching above a certain level. gotta move on.
They are playing not to lose! OMG!
OK nice bucket!
They just want to keep me on the edge of my seat and not allow me to change to CSI! 🙄
Come on boys, win already so I can watch some relaxing crime drama!
with a 1’30 to go hiram holds onto the ball and takes a wild shot….yup, playing not to lose…got chance…is that positive for you Jason boy
get the defibrillator for chawan cut, up by 2 with 12 seconds…..
I can’t believe they let Seay take that three…
I don’t want to sound like a broken record.
I need it too Ralph!
woot a victory
Great Win.
Whew…that was close! At least it’s a win.
Congrats to BB team! Sorry Al…don’t know if you watched live…
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G’nite gentlemen!!
did ST fly off to the combine
This is what I talked about after the Nevada game — learning how to win. They did a good job of that tonight.
Great win for the bb team. Avoiding the play-in game…
yeehaaww!
great win over doze lousy buggahz.
Happy B Day Committed Road Warrior. Love the name.
Belated B Day wishes to you too, TrueGreen.
Very good win by the BBT.
Road win, any road win, is always great. No play-in game, that’s a nice bonus for their effort.
OK… now kinda hungry.
bbl…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fl-GGkQ7iA&feature=related
Reading your reactions — geez, was I the only one confident that they were going to win? This is a different team from the beginning of the year. They’ve grown so tremendously, and they are continuing to grow. I love the maturity, composure, and confidence in their play. They’ve always been talented players, but they needed to develop those three traits in order to win. The pieces are coming together quite nicely … 🙂
That said, I hope they don’t run out of gas down the stretch …
Outstanding free throw shooting tonight, that was the difference.
Hey I want tickets
I’m glad they held it all together for 40 mins. They learned how much it hurt last week. Glad we could fight back every time they did.
Free throws and fouls were uneven, but we let them get inside too much and were swiping for bad fouls.
Whew…. I can sleep good tonight finally.
We need two consistent long range shooters and this team would be something…., maybe next year.
Possible Tsai-ko combine events
1) # trips thru the buffet line
2) how low can you go
3) 50 question, 1 minute Tsai-ko trivia quiz
4) # CR/Jaeger shots taken before having to lie down in the back of the room
5) Dodge the lead slippah
😆 🙄
Looks like I will go undrafted…
NFL Draft Scout has Veikune as the #10 DE in the draft. Jake Ingram is the #1 long snapper in the draft. Ryan Mouton isn’t listed among the top 19 CBs, but that can change depending on the combine workouts.
Mouton’s running backwards test will be critical for his draft position. Interesting that if a player runs backwards slowly they disregard his fast 40-yard time.
The broad jump will also be important for Mouton and Veikune.
Happy belated Birthday Truegreen!
Happy Birthday 808chef!

Mike Leach and Texas Tech’s AD really don’t get along…so Texas Tech’s Chancellor met with him without the AD around and they quickly agreed on Leach’s contract extension.
Hi Momo! I’m glad that the basketball team won and hopefully they can get on a roll that carries them through the WAC tournament.

rob25 i did watch it live tonight. i guess the boss was in a good mood. she even gave up her show for the game.
you just gotta love mike…..he pops in every now and then only to dangle the proverbial carrot.
yah, tough decisions ahead for the ad.
Garret,
So they do time DB’s running backwards
…and pretty crazy criteria at that!
Re: #239
Al — # 2, when we witnessed that at the BIG Karaoke Call, we were all too stunned to take pix. But you know, what happens at a K-call stays at the K-Call … unless you have a phone, camera, or camcorder…. 😐
BTW, admission is free but there is a “duty” on audio and video devices brought in this Saturday. $5 for audio recorders, $10 for cameras and $15 for camcorders. Proceeds go to funding the next K-Call.
jm2375 — no Jaeger Bomber has ever crashed on site.
……….
…… just kidding about the audio-video device duty… 😆
al – since you were late to the cc, what happens at the cc stays at the cc. 😆
so what time is the drawing? just checking how late I gotta stay up.
JP davis coming up on channel 6 news-his court appearance..
Did I scare everyone away? I seem to do that a lot…
d1shima,
Yes, I think you were the one who was wondering if they timed DBs running backwards. I didn’t realize that they threw out the 40-yard time if the DB couldn’t run backwards fast enough!
jm2375,
I’m guessing that parents traveling with their children will set off that emotional baggage meter at airports!
Miami’s head coach confirmed that they will draft or sign a center and Samson will have to compete for his spot on the Dolphins.

Welcome to Hawaii Chris Tormey! welcome welcome. help us beat everybody this year!
ST
great article in the HA. but hard to find the sports page when you google honolulu advertise. its missing on the cover page.
anyway, it really looks like Chris Tormey is a good hire. i mean, the Hawaii recruiter for udub the last several years, former head coach at Idaho and Nevada. knows a lot of the high school coaches in Hawaii. defensive coordinator at udub for along time too. As a head coach, Tormey said he devoted much of his attention to defense and special teams. we need somebody who knows what they’re doing, they can rub off on our other guyz.
is it just me? I’m getting the feeling that Coach Mack ain’t going to be the congeniality contest winner. He’s looking to win and i’m loving it!
i meant EXCELLENT hire and should have said it that way.
We got lucky with both Shaw and Torney. Thank you Sarkisian.
For awhile there, i was miffed at Torney for poachin Teo-Neishem outta Hawaii Prep a few years back. T-N was the bugga terrorizing Colt in the UDub game 2 years ago at Aloha Stadium.
From a current Washington student who grew up attending UH football games (season tickets since I was born :p), Tormey is a great hire. He was the best recruiter on the old staff here. I think you will all enjoy him being around.
Coach Mack is reteaching me the meaning of the word Patience. He’ll be gone in 4 years. Lets go along for the ride, full of hope. I just wish we neva sign up Central Arkansas for the first game. they get turmoil, sounds like.
Thanks for the affirmation ChrisinSeattle.
Jimmy Donovan,
howzit howzit. Now you gotta set higher sights for Coach Mack, and don’t get distraughted by the virus e-bolla. i think of da women’s basketball team this way. what are the girls’ inputs? is Marilyn saying anything?
look at how much $$ wbb is wasting. I mean, Bolla’s crowds can’t even pay the electricity bill. pathetic. and i mean his crowds. the people who turn out gotta all be related to the players and coaches. if i attended a few games, i’d probably know all the fans by name, get so few. i know 2 regular attendeez. tsaikos. gotta be nawtz. 😀 or they go to look at the chicks. 😆
Mr. Donovan,
Mr. Nash,
watching UH at Fresno last nite, seeing the big BOWS on their jerseys, listening to the announcers calling them WARRIORS, I wuz all confused.
