Doris Sullivan: Kalua Noa to join UH in ’09
From Doris Sullivan:
UH has offered Kalua Noa a greyshirt/full scholarship offer for Jan 2009.
Kalua has been speaking to UH for a while but with no scholie he had decided
to go the JC route. When Portland State came into the picture just yesterday
coaches discussed it and didnt want to lose him, and the offer to Kalua came
this afternoon. His response was “yes, yes, I want it, yes, Ill take it”
Parents are very excited as well.

My main man, Stephen Tsai, allowed me to use his blog to talk about the Major League Baseball Draft. Sorry to disappoint all you football followers.
Will try to keep you updated when someone with Hawai‘i ties gets picked. But that might be hours from now, as no one is expected to be picked in the first seven rounds.
Unlike football and basketball, you will not recognize most of the 1,400-plus names that will go off the draft tracker on MLB.com. You can watch the first round on ESPN2.
Let’s wish all the guys with ties to Hawai‘i well.

Happy birthday to BG, who turned 61-derful today. Here’s BG sporting his new Under Armour UH polo shirt:

Could it be?
#2
#3!
Two days in a row?
Stacy – welcome to the blog. please make a “Breaking News Report” for midori when Hee get’s picked.
I think I need to find more work to do, if my boss only knew… Anyway, Good Morning all!
Alrighty!
Rock on!
Stacy knows everything there is to know about baseball.
I just saw a blurb on CNN saying it was 8.99 for juice in Hawaii. Yikes!
ahhhhhh, that was a nice nap.
Bulla – Thanks for thinking of my well being.
Kekoa – No worry. With your connections, there’ll be plenty security.
Stacy knows everything about baseball? What Hawaii youth team was the first to ever play in a Youth Baseball World Series?
Jayson – At least gas is cheaper than juice. 😆
Some juice will give you gas. 😉
No kidding, it isn’t any cheaper to live here (NY) than it was in Hawaii. I know I would gladly put up with the cost of living to be back there. I just looked at Gigi’s website a few minutes ago and suddenly got very hungry!
Interview with Hercules!
Who will get drafted first?
A local HS player or a player from the Rainbow Warriors baseball team?
hi xs-homey! “Stacy knows everything about baseball? What Hawaii youth team was the first to ever play in a Youth Baseball World Series?”
Were you on the team???
Jayson,
Thanks for going to my blog! Yeah, I, too lived in NYC — for 5-1/2 years! Too long.
Hawaii no ka oi.
This is a great way to refer to Chad Kapanui!
i hope there are food pics there and not just a pic of gigi….
The way things are going, it might be 8.99 for gas soon!
Stretch,
you are soooo bad! But there are pics of both. Boo!
Article on a former Hawaii (not UH) athlete trying out a new sport.
Stretch…… Yes, there are food pics on the Blog;)
Hubby said last night that it is still $3.97 a gallon of gas at Aloha Fas Stop near the stadium. Cheaper than Costco.
Hi-dee-ho XLiz – I wasn’t on the team and I don’t know the answer. The teams I played on couldn’t get out of the local qualifying pool play! 😆
Blackie – I hope that’s not $8.99 for 1/2 a gallon! 😯
Good morning Tsai-kos!
Good luck to all the Rainbows hoping to get drafted.
Laterz… back to lurking and work and lurking and lurking and …
jm2375 – what year did you grad from UH Lab??
Stacy/Stephen –
Whatever happened to Waipahu’s Jerome Williams?
…since we are on the subject about baseball.
Did you know that in the movie “The Natural”, starring Robert Redford, Roy Hobbs was initially a pitcher?
Garret- thanks for the links!
stretch – I old (although not as old as “Mr. Lee”) – c/o ’81. Nobody famous in my class.
Jerome Williams…injuries, trades…last I heard he was somewhere playing in Long Beach.
When we were visiting our oldest child in NJ just a couple of weeks ago, we discovered that the prices at Costco were about the same or even slightly higher than here in Honolulu and supermarket prices were about the same as well. Gas was hovering around $4.00 though I did spot one selling for $3.80 in an area where the other stations were selling around $3.90.
So I don’t doubt that the cost of living in NYC would be about the same as Honolulu.
At one point I think NJ actually has the lowest average gas prices in the country.
aloha stacey,
did you know that ST referred to you as a ‘bulla wanna-be’ in a previous conversation?
i told him you were a possible candidate, just have to get a little taller! haha
joking aside, for those that don’t know, SK is ‘da man’ to local high school athletics…as ST is to UH, SK is to local high school sports :):):)
Homey ~ No be so modest…tell da peeps how “bezeboll was berry guud to you!”
Kekoa – Basketball was better! I was the tallest on my 5′ and under team!
Goog morning Tsaikos…..
Stacy – thanks for updating us on the draft….and Stretch is right, when Hee gets drafted we need to have breaking news for Midori7 with a lot of fanfare….
Stretch – Maybe Hee will get drafted by the Cubs…that would be Midori’s dream eh??? Mwahahahahaha
homey – Yep. Hobbs was a pitcher. In fact he got his original fame by striking out the guy that is supposed to symbolize Babe Ruth when the train made the stop at that State Fair…..
Okay, gotta go to work….running late as well….
Laterz.
Busy morning…off to Pops graduation ceremony at Elam Sports. Then a luncheon, followed by the visit to scope out the SSC at UH. I’ll check back in this eve…bye bye, stir fry!
Howzit Howzit Howzit……Great day in Hawaii Nei…..
HO James my friend, always running off. Neva see u long time now. Howz u?
homeyz….bruddah. Like bruddah kekoa wen say, no be da kine shy about your baseball legend at dat school on da wesside near da old suga mill and arakawas….bwahahahahaha
Kekoas, my man, congrats to pops…..
TGIF tomorrow! Should I stop by the UH field before work and check out who is participating in the unsupervised workouts? Let’s see…2:00 p.m…afternoon sun…hot…get a glimpse of the QB’s…WR’s and DB’s eying each other…Leila may be there…okay I think I’ll go.
Wow, for a minute I thought everyone was talking to me….then I realized it was the “other” Stacy everyone was talking to.
“other” Stacy, do you have a list of likely Hawaii guys to get drafted?
jm2375…do you know nylen t? don’t know what year he was.
Thanks for tracking the MLB draft…I don’t have time at work to keep an eye on it.
Hi Ho, Hi Ho!
gigi, just passed a gas station in Kona town…$4.23 for regular. Gas alone is gonna make us bankrupt in Kona.
FALSE PORDAGEE – Yep, legend in my own mind! I was the one who would pick up the bats, kept score, filled up the cooler with water, straightened out the helmets in the dugout, warmed up the pitcher between innings, retrieved the balls as they were thrown back in after warmups, if the pitcher got on base after batting then I would run and give him his jacket, fetched foul balls and gave it back to the umps, warmed up the outfielders between innings (my own team), and enthusiastically cheered my teammates on until the game ended. That’s about it…
Morning Tsaikos!
Finally got to talk to someone at the football office to inquire about Mrs. Mack’s Football Clinic. They are taking name, address & phone #’s at this time. They will call back when more info becomes avail. uhfan808 & I can’t wait to attend clinic!
Looking forward to hearing updates about Hawaii players in the baseball draft.
And lastly, GO LAKERS!
Sorry for the delayed response; I’m watching the draft show on ESPN2.
Re: Youth team in World Series. I don’t know. Enlighten us.
Re: Jerome Williams. He’s pitching for Long Beach in the Golden League (independent).
Yes, will let you know when Jon Hee gets picked.
Yay Midori and UHFan!
I got my call too from football office. Wooohooo! I can’t wait either!
midori7 – I heard you were a guest speaker and consultant for the clinic!
Good morning everyone!
The blog is still working correctly today (thought I might have been delirious last evening). Wow…it displayed correctly in Mac Safari the first 3 days, got the blues for 3 months, and now is OK again! I will cautiously wait the next 3 days… But this should also clear up the blue screen of blog-death problem the PC users have been reporting.
In the meantime, I reiterate that I seen no other problems with Safari 3.1.1 on a Macintosh running OS 10.4. Staying home today so can’t check the lower and higher versions that the schools use.
ST — I would really like to know who fixed the blue background/CSS problem…
Morning/afternoon, Tsaiko Nation, morning, Stacy,
How does it feel to have the “Power”?
Anybody from UH has a chance at being drafted?
homey- no be da kine so modest li dat.
midori – yeah, I taught you and da fan 808 was going be giving pointas at da clinic….
I wish I could be there for the football clinic 🙁 Maybe they could make it a Webex or streaming video kindof thing so those of us who can’t be there can still attend. Doesn’t Coach Mac read the blog? Hmmm… Something to follow up on when I’m home!
And gas at the station by my house is $4.41 for regular. I think it is more in LA county. Yikes!
@SteveM:
The Safari fix was done by John Garcia.
Stacy Kaneshiro – If memory serves me right…When I was a youngster and visited my Uncle on Maui he had a trophy in a showcase that said something to the effect, “World Series Champions – Pony League”. My dad said my late Uncle’s team from Maui was the first team outside the continental US that won a World Series. I don’t know how accurate that statement is but if it is true then Maui No Ka Oi! Oh, and this was in 1969 or around that time.
Thanks John Garcia and Scott for your hard work!!
Bruddah Stretch…wen go fo check your spelling….was all good.
stacyj – yep, I know nylen. Da master griller. How you know him – FHS? Us lab rats know almost everybody w/in 3-4 yrs of our class.
Stacy:
can you explain the impact of the new ruling that 5th year seniors are not eligible to sign free agent contracts.
homey & false pordagee:
thanks, but I’m just a fan.
good morning everybody and a lovely day it is
so much hustling and bustling going on here … great day
homey team that just went or actually won a wold series?
bulla got ac da oddah day? no like see wilted watercress hanging from da ear.
Stretch – Now if someone can make the posted comment text bigger…
hard work? According to AWH, that’s an oxymoron for Government workers! 😆
da false family stay in da house. look out! 😆
koakane – I meant won…Yeah, you’re probably thinking of PC Little League…
midori7 – As FALSE PORDAGEE would say, you’re being modest.
government “workers” is an oxymoron in itself, right g-nalo??!!??
OK, some trivial draft info. related to Hawai‘i.
San Francisco Giants reserve infielder Travis Denker signed to play for UH. But he signed with the Dodgers, who drafted him in the 21st round in 2003. He was in the same recruiting class as Steven Wright.
Re: UH players who might get drafted: RHP Matt Daly, C Landon Hernandez, OF Brandon Haislet, RHP Josh Schneider, INF Jon Hee.
Former Rainbow shortstop Troy Hanzawa of San Diego State.
UH recruits: Kirby Yates, Kolten Wong.
UH recruits from the Mainland: RHP Lenny Linsky, RHP Matt Sisto, OF Chase Koissian and C Nick Croce.
HO Stretch, no need fo call gnalo that….bwahahahahaha
Yo, koakane…WASSSUPPPP!!!
PONY website lists a team from Honolulu (PAL) as a winner in 1969.
http://tinyurl.com/3flk9x
I don’t think g-nalo is a government worker. He speaks with forked tongue so he must be a consultant. 😆
false pocho – sometimes the truth hurts
J – Thanks! Now I gotta check this out. I wonder if Whitey or Duffer knows anything about the Maui team?
I gotta tell my mom to tell her hubby to carry a cell phone!
Midori7:
Re: Impact of 5th-year college seniors not being able to sign as free agents.
We’ll find out with this draft. It might mean all teams will use all 50 picks. It might mean late-round high school and college guys don’t get picked. But there’s still light at the end of the tunnel. If a player eligible for the draft isn’t picked, he still could be signed after the draft as an undrafted free agent. That’s what happened to former Rainbow Joe Spiers last year. He went undrafted after his junior season at San Diego State, but signed with the Braves after.
Thank you, Scott and John!
Is John Garcia on local HA staff?
homey no not PCLL went times but neva won.
Howzit, Y’all! Greetings from Waynesboro, Georgia where it is 98 degrees today. Mahalo to LizK for talking with my vacation Bible school class last evening. We are working around a Hawaiian theme and my education from the Tsaiko’s has really come in handy. I have divided my class into teams and we have played various games in addition to a Bible lesson. I have the 7th & 8th graders. Last night we played football and the Kauai team and the Maui team advanced to play for the Pineapple trophy. It has been a lot of fun for me and it brings back good memories of the friends I met in New Orleans.
Have a great summer and good luck against those Gators August 30th!
fp nothing just keeping the excited keiki’s calm. in about an hour and some change they off to summer vac.
Merv – welcome back!! good to see you here.
Merv – Thanks for sharing cultures and traditions!
Merv…good going. Tanks for being part of da Tsaikos….
j and homey I was thinking about that pony team but didn’t know if that team was from maui. I remember pal elridge [?] coached a pony team that won a WS.
I tried to teach them how to do the haka but I couldn’t do it myself let alone teach it to 14 year olds.
I hope my uncle didn’t steal the trophy!
Merv – Just watch the “Gingerbread Haka” on youtube.
looked at the pony list again and a maui team is listed as champs in 1980. so the 69 team was from oahu.
gotta run see ya lattas
aloha all- rooting for Kaua’i ‘boy’ Kirby Yates!
LizK- sent you and email re: CC attendance
Go Warriors!
koakane – Saw that too but when I saw the the trophy I was pre-pubescent.
That’s about it…
Homey – don’t think it’ll be a big deal if you revise your Bio? like i said a few days ago, your bio should’ve had more stuff in it.
we can understand you’re not wanting people to think you “acking big”, but no worry.
Awright, Merv!
Scott Morifuji- I understand that this may be more of a content and editorial dept. issue, but in THE HAWAII WARRIOR BEAT page:
http://sports.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=UHSPORTS
I would like to see the “Resources” section revised to reflect THIS year’s information. 2008-9 Schedules, the Spring Ball practices and events and other current information. Can you put the word in or is there someone else we need to contact?
I don’t want to lay it on Stephen as he has plenty on his plate and he is only going to apologize for something over which he has no control and should not be apologizing for.
Aloha Merv!
Now that you are back for another year, I’m in a quandary… I have you listed as a “visiting Georgia Fan” on my Mainland & International Tsai-ko list. But I think I’m going to also list you as a Tsai-ko! After all, you met the gang twice in NOLA and even have Tsai-ko t-shirt! Hope you don’t mind. 🙂
There goes g-nalo, snake tongue I tell you! 😆
SteveM- an Merv sang the fight song with Mrs. A-House, no forget that one!
I Believe- which email??? I no can findem. lizkauai at gmail dot com is good.
government “workers” is an oxymoron in itself, right g-nalo??!!??
hooo so busy…….no mo time respond.
I don’t think g-nalo is a government worker. He speaks with forked tongue so he must be a consultant.
Homey – well i am an Indian and not Chief.
List me as a Tsaiko, I am proud to be counted among this esteemed group. I think I will wear my Tsai-ko shirt tonight. Believe me as Aug 30th approaches I am the biggest Warrior fan ever! I have even considered giving up my tickets to the UGA-Ga Southern game for a trip to Gainesville.
Well I am off to church for our last night of classes. I am tsai-ked about the football championship game we have tonight, oh and the lesson too.
Is Jon Hee is da only ‘Bow likely to be drafted? I saw him on KITV sports last night.
xs-homey… hahaha, I went to look at the Gingerbread Haka and then saw the rival Fijian one – tooooo funny!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Raf5x9DUbII&NR=1
g-nalo – You are an Indian? AHA! koakane was right! Bud Light, buuud lite, Bud Light, buuud lite…
GO- KIRBY YATES!!!
hiho
ok back but just to post
g-nalo not only a full tsaiko but part of the village people bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
XLiz – That was funny! Gotta show my daughter that one. She always cracks up when the gingerbread’s button comes off.
…and thanks to DPK for linking the gingerbread haka many many months ago.
g-nalo – You are an Indian? AHA! koakane was right! Bud Light, buuud lite, Bud Light, buuud lite…
haaaa…………….hey??!!
Off topic, but:
2008 has been a most historic year for the State of Hawaii – first, the Warriors represent us in the Sugar Bowl and hopefully with many more to come, and second, a local boy, Barrack Obama, is the Democratic nominee for US President.
I purchased extra copies of the morning papers because 1) first time a “non-white” person is nominated and hopefully become our next President; 2) because Barrack is a “local boy”; and third, I knew his Dad ( stayed in the same dormitory while attending UH).
Just great to be a Hawaiian!!!!!!
3 hours later…The baseball draft sure takes a long time…
A-House – You’re Kanaka Maoli? You get strong asian features!
Hey Stretch,
Thanks for backing my cousin on his spelling. If that wasn’t you, then my cousin must have been using your name. I’ll tell him to stop that. He is just trying to make trouble with someone.
Like the time we went to the Parker Ranch on the big island to get ourselves a cow to make burgers to feed the homeless some organic meats. He would unclip the saddles of the other guys who have been there a long time. Back in the day I used to make these saddles by chewing through tough leather myself from cattle I used to herd by running though the fields. Good thing I used to run cross country regularly from the east to the west and even went through Canada to make it to Alaska in hopes that I could… …. Wait, what was I talking about?
ho g-nalo getting bashed today!
A-House – good one #106, and we still get the rest of the year to go
AWHs’ Cousin – While you were running, did you happen to cross paths with Forrest Gump?
Okay, back from meetings all day and looking forward to going with Kekoa and BG to put this thing together.
It is hard for me to watch Baseball I must admit but I actually don’t mind watching golf.
Loa – Yeah, we’re giving DPK a break. We don’t want to deal with his whiny lawyer. 😆
i thought one of the PC LL teams was the first to win the world series for 12 year olds?
I had learned a lot from reading Homey’s bio. His animals are mean looking.
Wreck – I wonder what karaoke will sound like in the SSC?
Loa – nope, they made it to the dance but didn’t win.
Wreck – is that what he calls them nowadays?
homey – there were a bunch of country kids that made it to the ws in the early 70’s
Homey, we will find out today…
It would be a little different though, everyone will sing together… that is all I am saying…
Loa,
Yah.. that is what he calls his Barbie collection… his animals too by the way.
The baseball draft is long. Still got 49 more rounds!!!
It wasn’t too long ago, the draft was secretive. The teams would call the players, sometimes not even tell them what round they were taken. Back then, we had to call the players constantly throughout the day and ask if they were drafted. MLB would release the draft list about a week later.
Until 1986, there used to be two phases of the draft, once in January and again in June.
WAFAN: Re your Post 519 in yesterday’s blog:
Pdgin is a spoken bridge language and was not written down & analyzed from a linguistic perspective until after WWII. Were you to hear it rather than read it, then you’d be more likely to understand given the context – responding to his Post 312 – That’s what he said in January.
In other words, to confirm what Mark Takai said in a phone conversation way back in January.
Several folks post here in pidgin. The only way for me to understand what they’re saying is to take the time to read each post out loud. Even then, I’m not sure that I have the content/context correct, but unless it deals with something I really want to know, I just let it pass.
COACH HEATHER’S CLINC: The confirming phone call came in this morning and it’s already on the calendar & date book. Fortunately, two of the three meetings normally scheduled for third Thursdays of the month are on summer break in August so DrDoc will attend the third one to keep him out of trouble while we’re learning more about the game of football.
Someone yesterday mentioned about going to the Na Koa football luncheons to learn more about the game as well as about the team. Yes, the luncheon programs are a valuable resource, but many of us are constrained by either time or money or both to attend them even on a semi-regular basis. However, we’re still interested in learning about the game so the Clinic sounds as if it is a great way to learn – especially being able to ask questions in a “safe environment.”
KEKOA: Mahalo for the response and am looking forward to your report. However, it looks more & more likely that we’ll be doing the same thing that evening we’re doing on June 19 which is to stop by for a few minutes to say hello but not staying because of other commitments.
Have a great day everyone – Mahalo to Stacey for tracking the baseball draft. Back in the day – I was a batgirl for a Trple A franchise which cemented my love for baseball.
Don’t go talking about my Barbie collection! 😈
Stacy – they just finished the first round?
Stacy Kaneshiro – The secretive MLB draft list sounds like the UH Sugar Bowl list.
ho g-nalo getting bashed today!
Loa – today???
no wonder i’m just a wannabe lurker, no can keep up.
and SteveM – no forget that LK made a tsaiko name tag for Merv which he wore to the Japanese buffet gathering on game day.
and Merv, to make a “shaka”: extend your arm; palm up with fingers spread; pull in your middle 3 fingers with more pressure on the ring finger which will automatically bring in your index and middle fingers; inner fingers will be touching; walla, you now have the “shaka”
Proper way to “flash the shaka” is back of hand facing whomever you’re greeting!!
g-nalo – 101 & 103, well at least you score on the commercial
re: Clinic
I can just picture midori7 and UHfan808 running pass routes and A-Sports throwing darts at them.
Whoops!!!!
Stacey = Stacy. Sorry about that
homey – what about gigi and liz?
A-House – I see you take the passive route to make a shaka.
My way is to make a fist, then make pretend you are throwing an uppercut, then stick out the thumb and point the pinkie up. There you go, “SHAKA”
Then I have the bird…
Loa – I’m not sure what kind of drills the linemen will run at the clinic…
OKAY, time for a quick nap…
Gigi would just sit and watch…
g-nalo,
you better get an umbrella, they’re raining bullets on you today, oh boy. see what happens when DPK threatens litigation
Ok officially summer vac, kids outta hea
bulla you should be getting them roaming ala wai in a few hours and homey you may need to start making extra patrols rounds.
stacy what chances does da mililani boy have? watched him a few times, not to consistent but throws hard.
homey good one bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaa
loa PCLL made it to da big show many times but no cigar but one big claim they and no other state can claim is this one team of boys who played in four LLWS finals. Once as 12’s, 13’s, junior and seniors. They set the standard and was the model for all pcll teams there after. good kids and great bball players.
ok back latta’s gotta go set up for techca appreciation luncheon
whoooshhhhhhhh like esme
gigi,
Can’t just sit and watch; gotta practice those punt returns!
Gotta esme, too.
Grace Pacific.
(for those of you who are new to this blog and don’t unnahstan’ the above…. 😕 )
g-nalo,
you better get an umbrella, they’re raining bullets on you today, oh boy. see what happens when DPK threatens litigation
Bulla – today? umbrella already out, golfer kind.
DPK – come out to plaaay..yayyyyyyyy
Mililani High’s Dustin Antolin went 3-4 with a 4.24 ERA. 32 Ks to 16 BBs and 21 hits allowed in 34 innings. Might not look impressive, but scouts look for physical and mechanical attributes, as well as makeup, so don’t take the stats to mean much.
Draft is in second round, close to third now. Not sure how many rounds they will get in today.
Man, the MLB draft is in the middle of the second round. Geez, who they think they are the NFL! (lol)
Time to do the laundry.
Hard to nap when a bunch of kids playing the Wii are trying to be quiet.
BTW, I wonder what psychiatrist/psychologist say about someone who speaks in the 3rd person?
3rd round! WOO HOO only 47 more to go!
The plot thickens…just talked to my dad and he said Maui won the Pony World Series. He can’t remember the year but will call his sister to go and look at the trophy.
…sister isn’t home…the waiting continues.
Once again Congrats to Rich2176, happy Birthday
Wonderful Bio from Midori7, you look much, much younger than any classmate of Elam’s should.
Make sure you thank mom and dad for those genes.
g-nalo – What? You’re voice went crack? CANNNN YOUUUUUU DIG IT!
lv – Wait till you find out how old UHfan808 is! 😯
las vegas is not sure what to make of Homey’s question.
indeed, las vegas ponders, what would a psychiatrist/psychologist say about someone who speaks in the 3rd person?
but then again las vegas is not known as a deep thinker.
Stacy K – Where’s the pics?
Homey,
I hope she’s ancient, I’ve always preferred older women.
Some guys like Ginger, some guys like Mary Ann, me? i had the hots for Mrs. Howell.
lv – I’m not a deep thinker too. That’s why I gotta ask the experts.
lv – funny you mention older women. My friend went to this place that starts with an “F” and ends in “Nu” the other night and said the women in the audience was way better looking than the stagehands.
Did you ever get in touch with Thuy?
Three rounds in, no Hawaii players taken.
Lots of guys who played against UH have been picked: Tanner Scheppers, Andrew Liebel, Vance Worley, Jason Castro, to name a few.
au contraire, mon petite Meeester Homey, you have, what we say the brains.
oops, daughter looking over my shoulder and said “was” is supposed to be “were”. I told her I am categorizing women as “one” “singular”. She just shook her head and mumbled something…
I tell you these young ones…
Jason Castro? Wasn’t he on American Idol?
Homey,
Sadly Thuy remains at large as does my Burgundy Sedan De Ville.
Sometimes when walking down the strip, I catch just a whiff of Woolworth’s brand perfume and panic for just a short moment.
homey,
you sound way too busy at work today, not. haha. i like G-nalo, although it is alleged he knows that mystery man Stretch…G-nalo is like the Ironwood Pine Trees at Sherwoods……tall, strong, unwavering, and very regal in appearance.
homey, i think of you as more like a mock orange hedge, i don’t know why, but that strikes me as such.
of course, our leader Al is like a well manicure bonsai tree, very old, filled with wisdom and meticulously manicured.
bulla, well, that guy is like a yard that has been unkept for about two decades, but once trimmed, will shine brightly.
haha,
i won’t even get into the lovely Tsaikettes and what kind of vegetation, tree or bush they resemble…..and no more camel jokes about the camel feet Jason.
where is the warrior football news hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Brains? Nope, not me. I bet I’m the only one on the blog who had to repeat kindergarten. 😡
A-House:
Technically speaking, he is half white.
Got to go down Piikoi Street and get some Obama tee-shirts for our oldest child who worked with him in high school.
D1
post 140, i was thinking more like Ameron not Grace Pacific, haha or maybe city mill for the homeowner type?
Homey,
Not that I’ve ever been to that F-Nu place, but theoretically if I was to go to a place like that, I might have gone to Saigon Passion or maybe super theoretically the Rock-Za.
But I get ya, some places the working girls and the kitchen mama are interchangeable
where is AWH today?
i miss that guy, i mean girl, i mean hmmmmmmm. makes you wonder doesn’t it? lot of action when that person comes around.
never thought i’d say this, i almost miss dpk….haha, ok, i said it.
Bulla – well you know mock orange. Once it takes root it is hard to get rid off. Kind’ve like an irritant.
wow,
i was wondering the same thing, where stay da family? cruuuuuuuuuuuuuzing probably.
haha,
onipa’a….set the bait out, and catch one of those guys lurking…..gotcha! :):)
homey,
irritant….sounds like an ex-spouse of some sorts….nah, mock orange, stout, sometimes fragrant, but plenty of opala
Homey,
Repeating kindergarten was no shame, you just did not make the height requirement for first grade.
Tom Mui: where on Piikoi Street do you get the Obama t-shirts? My college son wants one too.
I think AWH is contemplating her next move. I wonder if AWH is DPK?
is koakane still eating the leftovers in the cafeteria from yesterday? i’d be almost 1/2 dead by now i think. or do they call that ‘goulash’?
Homey,
By God son, you’ve got it. look at the similarities, 3 letters, all capitals, same font….you could be onto something by jove, what a stroke of genius. have you been stroking your genius, sure looks like it Mr. HOMEY from now on!!!
Bulla – I only said that about mock orange because when I was in 6th grade (supposed to be 7th) my dad made me dig up the mock orange hedge in our back yard so he could lay cement!!!
lv – That made sense but I was still the patot in my 2nd year of kindergarten.
DPK,
the word is out, you need to challenge the allegations that have been made by our resident irritant…..not you Stretch, this is Homey’s deal for now.
i am not going to call your sniveling attorney at 1-800-sueforu and have a long, very long discussion with him, of course billable hours back to you.
we need more litigious minded bloggers so we can further observe their worthiness in our hours of idle mental calisthenics.
no boddah us pleeze, we beesy likkin da kine
bulla…
maybe AWH no stay but da falsies representing….BWAHAHAHAHa
Bulla – ROTFLMFAO! same font! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Homey,
what is it with cement, hmmmmm, maybe a correlation. i will have to ask Jason for the complimetary matrix of similarities based upon mutual idiosyncracies by various sources. if he were able to track it according to quantum distribution, i think we could come to an impartical conclusion on the variance of activity based to the probability of further interactions.
don’t you think?
Homey,
get off of the floor, don’t get hurt….
hey falsie,
nice to see you in the sunshine, put some sunscreen on those muscular ears of yours, don’t want you flying off with the tradewinds……
Wait a minute! I said “wonder”, you know, curious, inquisitive, wanting to know. I wasn’t insinuating and coming to conclusions based on physical evidence.
Sorry to hear about the death of Harlan Cleveland. Little before my time…
Stretch, come out come out wherever you are. Did he pull an Esme this morning?
Are all pro drafts drawn out ? take foreva to finish one round! At least NBA is only 3 rounds (?)

falsie,
take a breath, i think if someone feels the need to share their thoughts about something, they should feel free to do so. i found those comments useful, but i also have the choice to read what i want to read….no offense koakane, and that is the ultimate ‘delete’ tool we have.
the fact that someone takes the time to type nonsensical gibberish like #181, only further proves that ST and this blog welcomes all comers, no matter what creed or color, IQ, status, employed on unemployed, local or not, private shool or public school. we welcome everyone
I can’t believe pidgins were used to deliver mail/messages! Who thought them how to drive the mail trucks?

1st and 10, what do the Warriors do now?
Bulla – das shrite! I don’t read every post. Just roll the scroll wheel on the mouse and stop when I see something interesting. It’s a good thing I took the Evelyn Woods course in speed scrolling.
Being a Hapa-Haole sometimes it is hard to fit in.
I remember as a 15 yo at Camp Erdman(sp) a Haole kid was hitting on a local girl by the pool.
She got rid of him by pointing to me and saying “I no like Haole boys, I like Pordagee boys like las vegas”!
To this day, I feel slightly insulted.
homey,
after the talking parakeet, was the mail delivering pidgin, cousin of the pidgeon. i think, have to check with our ceritifed bird brain, none other than…………….
1st and 10, throw the bomb!
LV,
that’s why you only feel slightly, but are still sightly.
homey,
you da bomb
Bulla,
this sounds more correct
that’s why you only feel slightly, but are still UNsightly
Hey James! Bulla wants to know if the pidgin, cousin to the pigeon, came after the parakeet.
Stacy & Homey –
Thanks for the answer re: Jerome Williams playing independent ball. And to think, he was once on the cover of Baseball America as a top prospect. Wonder what happened …
Hello fish — how are things in Oregon?
fish – I’m thinking the weight gain and injuries just took a toll on him. His fastball dropped to the mid 80’s and the hitters were just teeing off of him. Hopefully he can rejuvenate at Long Beach make it back to the bigs.
LV,
mine was moh bettah
LV,
She knew your name far into the future would be “Las Vegas”… Was she Ms. Cleo?
only 208 posts? Bring back the Bios!
SteveM – That’s sure a lot of people going to the Rich and Ronnie show!
ho hum, guys, I am so bored. What a way to spend the day.
Wreck,
the ‘eyes’ have it
gigi – Want a higher post count. Tell us a joke.
SteveM,
you sure got a room at Genji’s big enough for 40 people? or will we be split up in 2 rooms?
Homey, I know a really FUNNY joke, but I don’t think it is G rated.
to all da teachers and parents out there – congratulations on making it through another school year! now to make it through the summer without … (i don’t wanna get in trouble)
Yes — just shows how popular and well-regarded our Lower Cal friends are… and there are probably more in the “official” party that is not listed yet.
Aww Gigi, we heard that one already…
$10 for the wahine football clinic. What a bargain. In return, I will get a football manual, snack, drinks, and a fine lecture.
gigi – you need to get out of the house. Network with people your age at the old folks home. Join a senior citizens golf club. give old friends a call and do something exciting like go to the water park.
Buy sexy negligee and teddy’s, light some candles, spray his favorite perfume in the air, and set a romantic mood and surprise hubby when he comes home from the
bar24 hour fitness.Wreck, what? the one where the punch line is “…and your p- – – – is under your pillow!”
At age 99, I don’t have any friends my age. boo=hoo.
Hubby is old and decrepit too.
g-nalo – What? You’re voice went crack? CANNNN YOUUUUUU DIG IT!
wh…whaa…what! voice only crack when singing karaoke or talking to babes. 🙂
tougher to blog today, town-sai stay busy.
p – – – – = penny?
gigi – give hubby credit, he must be a lean mean workout machine at 24 hour fitness!
penny is not quite the word I meant. lol
hubby is not that lean. weighs 237 lbs.
Once when Thuy and I were still together.
We went back to my apartment where I tried to remove some of her clothes.
I kept pulling at her top and she would scream “Teddy! Teddy!” I was kinda offended but tried to correct her, “not Teddy” I’d yell “John! John! I’m John!”
But everytime I pulled, she’d repeatedly scream “Teddy! oh god Teddy!”.
Turns out she was wearing a teddy and ended up with some mean roadrash down south.
you sound way too busy at work today, not. haha. i like G-nalo, although it is alleged he knows that mystery man Stretch…G-nalo is like the Ironwood Pine Trees at Sherwoods……tall, strong, unwavering, and very regal in appearance.
Bulla – haaaa, i think i caught this one, good thing my umbrella still open.
g-nalo – babes? What’s so hard in saying “googoo gaga, lookie wookie here comes the airplane spoon open wide…yummy wummy…here comes another…mmmmmm um um”
lv – you must’ve pulled really hard! 😆
The main room is rated for 45 people–so by Tsaik-ko standards that means we might get cozier than usual. But with people coming and going, I hope we only average around 35 at any given moment. Worse case is we expand into the original karaoke/sports bar portion of the building, but that is where I suspect their usual Thursday night regulars might seek refuge.
Parking will be an issue since the usual adjacent parking lots we use at night might still have shops open and the residential street parking may be scarce. Disadvantage of a week night, but cannot help. Will work on something later–like car pooling or a “shuttle”service.
My orginal estimate was 20-30 people…remember how I was trying to see if we could get the minimum of 20 for the buffet? 🙂
Vegas has a vivid imagination! bet that never happened to Thuy.
gigi – piano?
So, I sent an email to HawaiianTelcom to find out if there was a way they could show the football clinic on the internet. I really wish I could be there because it sounds like a lot of fun!
Homey,
Yes, I lifted her off the ground several times, oh to be young again.
OK, SteveM. Thanks for the heads up. Hubby and I will probably leave before 8 pm — maybe 7:30 — so that should open some space for others.
Looking forwward to the food and the camaraderie.
C’mon Ronnie, you know everything there is to know about football!
SteveM – I plan to come after 8:00 p.m. 😆
Gigi,
Just go down to Koreamoku street and look for the little Vietnamese lady who now walks like John Wayne.
Vegas, J. Wayne is DEAD.
Gigi,
Take both of your cars to Genji’s.
So that when you leave, there will be two open spaces.
gigi – then look for a little Vietnamese lady who walks like a dead John Wayne.
vegas, good idea, but unfortunately, I am not THAT dumb.
Gigi,
I said walks like JW!
It’s not required that he be alive to walk like him.
It’s easy to emulate, just pretend you have a bad rash down there or maybe you used poison ivy instead of TP.
LV
good idea, such the team player
hmmm hard to pretend when I have no experience with a bad rash or poison ivy.
I have never even seen PI.
Gigi,
no has ever said that you were that dumb, right guys?
Six rounds completed. No Hawai‘i players taken.
hahaha
Homey,
you coming at 8 pm? that is incredibel, how do you schedule such physical outbursts. many of us are not that punctual, usually i can tell for myself, but the situation has to be right.
is this something you work at all day, or is it just by chance….either way, i take my hat off to someone like you with that ability.
sorry, incredible not incredibel
bulla, who said I was bored? I am laughing my head off at that one! poor homey.
Stacy Kaneshiro – What’s the lowest round that a person with Hawaii ties was drafted?
Bulla,
pls keep hat on until the sun sets
mahalo
gigi…John Wayne stay dead…I nevah no dat….wen dat wen happen?????
Bulla – After 8:00 p.m.! First I’m gonna take a peek, if the coast is clear, I’m walking in.
FP, where you been? JW has been dead for a looong time. google it to be sure.
When the Medical Examiner said, “He’s dead”.
Hey gang. It’s been a long day. Whew….
Homey – I think pigeon actually came before pidgeon but after the parakeet…..
That’s it. Six rounds got completed today. Draft continues at 5:30 a.m.,HST, Friday. That’s 44 rounds for Hawaii guys to get picked.
Thanks for putting up with baseball today, instead of football.
Have fun. See you tomorrow.
Stacy Kaneshiro – Hey! What about my question?
FP…what an appropos name….mwahahahahaha j/k my friend…..
Okay, why do they spell “whew” with a “wh”. lolo.
Happy 61st B-day BG… (I was waiting for the picture)
May you enjoy (survive) your “celebration” tonight…
Bye Stacy, thanks for watching out for us today.
homey — what do mean “if the coast is clear”? I already explained to Tina about you and the junk beer and she is amenable. No scared… 🙂
Happy Birthday BG!!
BG looks like he is making side eye at a coed. The buggah still get da sparkle.
Happy Birthday to BG…..61 is old enough to know better, but still too young to care…
have fun
I like it when Tina is amenable, whatever that means
SteveM – Check, ok, Tina is off the list…I can also picture as I walk in everyone will point out where the bathroom is. 😡
gigi,
never underestimate our handsome spanish/latino/filipino friend, he is far from poor. he has been endowed with many gifts, some larger than most. who else can boast of such exploits on a public forum?
it is always invigorating to see how he postures himself either on the blog or in person. with rippling muscles and slightly bulging forearms, he is the dream of many lustful fans, be it either gender.
homey is my hero, for all of the bantering he is the subject of, the one thing that is clear is that he is idolized by many around. in fact, in the National Geographic Series in the early ’90’s, it explained of a Pigmy tribe that allowed one of their very own to escape to Johannesburg, and then on to England and the South Pacific. i have pondered the remote possiblity if this could be our very own homey, but i am not fully convinced that was him. maybe a relative? who knows….but he will always be my hero………..big or small, he stands tall.
GO HOMEY
OK I looked it up, I still like
lv – I hope amenable has something to do with yoga.
Bulla – oh man, that got me ROTFLMFAO AGAIN! Let me get some kleenex. My daughter thinks I’m delirious!
BG….Happy B-Day!!! You’re 61??? I thought you were still in your 40s….. 🙂
bulla, that was sweet. Just to let you know, I have never underestimated homey. In my brain, he will always be 6′ tall.
Re: post 271
I had wondered about the boar tusk in Homey’s nose and the penchant for fresh monkey meat.
Not “in my brain,” but “to me.”
gigi…you must have a huge brain to have a 6′ tall homey in there….mwahahahahaha
LV
i disagree, i think all men are able
8) Happy Birthday BG ! 8)
The Sixties Club, huh? You have some good Tsai-ko company!
gigi – in my brain, to make myself proportional, I’m 6’5″.
homey,
borrow G-nalo’s umbrella, it’s the golf kind, very expansive, not expensive
aw, homey, I hope you don’t shrink!
Lets see, 6ft tall, that two linear Homeys high.
Sixties club? I gotta wait 25 years to join that club! 😆
Happy 61st B-day BG… (I was waiting for the picture)
May you enjoy (survive) your “celebration” tonight…
happy birthday BG!
BG, happy birthday! Hope you, Wreck, and Kekoa liked the Wong Room and it meets requirements for the blog bash.
Happy Birthday BG!!!
i have to admit, some people unfortunately have been saddled with polio. it is a very saddening disease.
although they might have thought that earlier in your younger years my dear buddy Homey, they know now that they were mistaken.
as the drill sgt. says to all his soldiers….ATTENTION. and then our most desired command AT EASE.
well done you lady killer you. that’s why i thought we should call you that oh so famous knight from king arthurs around the table group…….homey you are worthy to be called Sir Lance A Lot
gigi, what a joker.
Next decade: homey is going to claim he got a 2-for-1 special in attaining membership in the Sixties Club 😕
Thanks peeps for giving me good medicine today. The feel good endorphins are out in mass.
BG….Happy B-Day!!! You’re 61??? I thought you were still in your 40s…..
me too??!!
maybe hanging around the Tsaiko’s keep you young? haaa
There was a babe co-ed at the center today… Too bad we saw her much earlier during the day. 🙂 BG is looking at Kekoa..
Next decade: homey is going to claim he got a 2-for-1 special in attaining membership in the Sixties Club
not bus pass? free refill?
When I grow up I hope to be in shape like BG and Mr. A-House.
OK, there was one player with brief ties to Hawaii picked, I’m told by Tampa Bay’s local scout Casey Onaga.
Outfielder Ty (Christopher) Morrison attended Mililani in the fall after transferring from a high school in Virginia. He then transferred to Tigard High in Tigard, Ore. He was picked in the fourth round by the Rays. During his stint at Mililani, he signed a letter of intent to play at Oregon, which just revived its baseball program.
Otherwise, he never played an inning here.
Another player to watch Friday with more local ties than Morrison is Oregon State reserve outfielder Koa Kahalehoe. He played JV baseball at Waianae his freshman year before his family moved to Nevada. He signed with Oregon State out of Durango High in Las Vegas, where he was considered one of the state’s top high school prospects at the time.
Scratch the going to see the Warriors at UH tomorrow. Daughter just reminded me that she has a dental appointment at 3:00 p.m.
thanks Stacy,
frustrating no hawaii guyz, but that’s life…..
That’s a very nice polo shirt that BG is wearing. But not cheap enough to buy.
Cheap is a relative term, especially for Chinese like me.
cheap not chirp 🙂
I know for a fact that hubby would never buy a $60 shirt.
He tends to buy $15 Tshirts and $25 aloha shirts.
My pal Gwyn (pictured two days ago) never heard of the song, “Word Up.”
So, here’s a refresher:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=u_7Kp_TapA4
ST:
I gotta tell you this. You work with some attractive women in the HA workplace.
Lucky dude.
So what’s better — Word Up or Atomic Dog?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuyS9M8T03A
eyez,
how is our prototype new clothing line coming along
Underarm Her ?
the prototypes should be near completion
Coconut Capri Pants
Palusami Pareos
Lau Lau Lava-lavas
Pineapple Pull overs
Ulu Undershirts
and more to come, especially our popular to be Mango Muu Muus
No question – Word Up!
Tsai – Lakers or Celtics
Bulla,
I heard the prototype women’s wear will be the big seller. with the Strapless Opihi Bra leading the way. The Lauhala Leaf Thong did not do so well and had to be surgically removed.
ST: Word Up! Never heard Atomic Dog before this.
Sooooo, did you reveal the surprise for today?
Happy Birthday BG! Whoo-hoo!!!
Seriously. 61? Really? Geez. I thought you were a young guy in your 40’s or so. I guess Oil of Olay really does work.
Wow, you folks were on a roll today. Reading through the comments was more than interesting. It was entertaining. HA! But such a drop from yesterday.
And, sorry about the confusion of MHS yesterday. My fault. Perhaps we should expand the abbreviation as was done with MoHS. Perhaps MHS, MiHS and McHS?
Are the UA polos widely (take that either way) distributed yet? Or are they still only in limited stores?
That is a nice green color! I was worried it would be a sickly pukey green. Nice job whomever designed and ordered the shirts!
To all the Hawai’i educators . . .
Whoo-hoo! You have definitely earned your summer break. Now, forget about your classroom. Go lie out in the sun and enjoy yourself — for at least a couple of days.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MAN WHO LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE TSAIKOGATE!!! KEEP ON KICKIN’ BG!!!
Oh and Boston and LA?!?!?!?!?!!?….
Pffftttt…. Go with a proven winner thus far!
Choose Detroit (Red Wings)!
Or maybe not as the so-called “expert in what people in America watch on TV” aka Tiger Woods says “hockey is dead”. Whatever “Kitten”, let’s see you bring your mouth on the ice and we’ll see who’s dead. 😆
Oh but anyway it will be LA in 5 thanks to the 2-3-2 format.
Happy B-Day to braddah BG.
May there be many more.
Happy Birthday, BG! Lookin’ good in that UH polo.
Word Up…I think I used to workout in a step aerobics class to that…
Celtics…but I wouldn’t bet on it. Got to see the Lakers play the Suns at the Staples Center once…won a trip for four to fly from PHX to LAX, hotel, tix to the Jay Leno Show & the Lakers game. They won. Shoots! Jason Kidd just couldn’t pull it out in the last couple of minutes.
Eh wreck that’s small kine skimpy for you.
Gotta make the kind super size koa bowl bra for get full coverage.
O.K. I thing that’s all for me today gotta go back to work so I no need spend the rest of the night hea. K-den everybody I’ll be back to lurk tommorrow.
GIGI
At age 75, I can proudly say that I have no enemies!
(All of those SOBs have died!!!)
Speaking of aliens…
wasn’t Sam Cassell in the league when Magic and Bird were in the NBA Finals?
gigi,
Wy you accusing da recon unit of going to da Wong Woom?
Dey prolly got it wight!
homey,
Tell daughter about wafan’s Dental “hygiene” experiences. Den can make it to workout at UH, garans!
Casey Onaga?
#1 son went to St. Tim’s Pre-School wit him. His mama was one teacha.
Hard luck about da place closing.
Sound kinda fishy though.
LMAO @ Tom Mui!!!!!
gigi, lizkauai
what’s this about salt? i’m catching up with yesterday’s late night posts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BG!!!
isn’t 61 also supposed to be yakudosha?
We went to da wong woom. It was the wirst twing we done wight. everywon will be upwaited next week.
Whao Warriwors!!!
midori7,
good reminder about the surprise.
or is the surprise that there is no surprise?
Wight on, Weck!
I miss the excitement of the old parquet floor…
nevah could tell wen da ice underneath would start melting and leak thru.
Just the kinda thing a mega-buck$ NBA player of today would want to deal with 😯
Happy Birthday BG! Thank you for all that you have done for the blog, especially with the Tsaikogates! I would love it if I was in as good of shape as you when I am 61…you look much younger than that!
Okay, I think I have figured out how the topless opihi bikini tops work. It is not just the shell. It is the whole live animal! Carefully pry two off the rock then quickly and firmly attach to the chi-chi’s. The buggah’s hang on for dear life! Only problems are getting them off and if any Tsai-ko is around.
FInished bocha. Looked in the mirror. I need a case of Oil of Olay.
Reggie Bush’s lawyers are trying to get the case into arbitration because that way the NCAA won’t get the testimony. That sure doesn’t sound like someone who followed the NCAA’s rules! Reggie paid off the other agent that sued him to avoid that court case, but it looks like the agent he paid off will have to testify in this trial.
Wafan,
It becomes more funny when you actually write out how to use the opihi… 😀
64 years ago tonight a lot of dreams got put on hold…
40 years ago tonight a lot of dreams ended.
Wreck . . .
Been thinking about that one for some time. Duh.
I just would not like it if it had to be removed because on an “emergency” or a pupu attack. Ouch!
The police report might read, “Officer, he came at me with a knife! And, he was drooling.”
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
BG – Happy Birthday!! You don’t look a day over, ummm, 40?
d1 – what kine buddahead you? it’s kanreki – journey to 2nd childhood. Yakudoshi is 41 for men and 32 for women. Gotta get BG red vest and red cap. 😉
d1 . . .
Huh???

Just reflecting on stuff I heard on the rayjo today.
D-Day tomorrow.
RFK.
OK. Came home early today becuz wifey said she had “surprise” for me! Auwe! Found it she meant that she had invited my brother and sister in law to dinner. Hmmm, maybe “dessert”. I think she said she had a special dessert!
Whoa! Got your interest now! C’mon…fess up…you wondering what “dessert” is going to be 😀 bwaaahahaha
Hey! ST! Get one complaint! How come all udda birfdays just announced as “birfdays” and mine get 61st in front!!!! Whea da AARP when I need dem?! Outrageous age violation, I say! Grumble…grumble…(I gotta practice the ole man stuff).

BG – is that the new “code” word, “dessert”?? Come on, you can think of a better word. Just tell us that she has “something” planned for you.
Hauoli La Hanau BG ..U handsome bugga.
Gotta laugh. I just tuned into to TRY and catch up with all the latest, and BG is posting on this special day.
Auwe, usually B-days are busy and hectic, especially towards pau hana time ( even if your retired.) Must equate to this blog being veeeery special to BG….
May the 61 candles blow away to your satisfaction.
here’s last night’s kitv story interview with Jon Hee and his draft hopes. just for midori7…. here’s hoping that he gets the call.

IMHO – these two Great Tsaikos played key roles in the exponential success of this ‘ohana, the Tsaiko Nation!. There were two key events that boosted the development of the Tsaikos. BG and Kazz organized the tremendous Tsaiko Tailgates at Richardson field! And Rich and las vegas organized and “sponsored” that wonderful meeting in Las Vegas! Who knows what would have happened without BG and Rich stepping up and showing all of us the true aloha and Warrior spirit! Mahalo!!!
I’ve been away from the WB for awhile, so please pardon these late wishes and salutations…
My sincere condolences to MIH, Whitey, djmitcho, the Wiltons, and your ‘ohana on your recent losses of loved ones. They are at peace, no longer in pain, and in a place more beautiful than even Hawaii.
We’re all very relieved and happy to hear of the reunion of JaM’s niece with her family!
And, Mahalo to the wonderful biographies from d1 and midori7! Great stories, from/about great Tsaikos!!!
PS – I’m still interested in the versions from Beau (for d1) and either Stretch or UHfan808 (for midori7).
Thanks again, ST! 😀
Howzit gang…
Kekoa – Got your message right before I went on the plane, but I back in Sacramento. Been off for lil bit spending time with all the ohana so never have time for access computer and wala’au. Anyway, unfortunately I just wen find out I moving to San Diego instead of coming home but my connections going try get me back to the island hopefully by Dec/Jan.

From last nights blog about Rocky participating in drills…
Saw him bouncing up at Dave and Busters last night and had a few words. Said his leg is feeling good and he ready for bull rush and knock heads with the Gator Oline. Hopefully he stays injury free but he looks to be in solid shape, bruddah is tick.
Anyone seen the Colorado Crush AFL game with Chad Owens? Seems to me he needs to be back in the league as he is regaining his old form and gaining confidence. Too bad, Miami Dolphins couldn’t pick him up if they was looking for a quick solid slot receiver but Davone is solid. Anyway, had to get that off my chest gotta support my Pauoa Boys! Hope he makes it back to the league, maybe even Kapanui as he is destroying defenses.
Ho Joe-
If I knew you were there, we could’ve done a duet. Had to wing it. No sound the same without you.

Happy Birthday, BG. Have many, many more. Hey, who knows! You might even make 2050 to check out the sea level rise IF you stop eating bad things that taste good and go to bed every night at 8 pm. Boring.
Hiya Brew!
Yeah…we use all kinds of ways to communicate. Sometimes we IM each other on email, talk on the phone as he’s walking up the driveway. Kinda cool, blogging with each other on the WB. Good fun.
wafan: You can get one of those UH UnderArmour shirts at Rainbow Boutique at Ward Center – cost $50 but the fabric is soft like silk and not the usual cotton that polos usually are made of – supposedly keeps you warm when it is cool and cool when it is warm or so the ad says!
Thanks to Stacyj and Wafan,
For the words and link to music of the Cheerio March (FHS touchdown song). Good stuff and brought back memories ..some 50+ years ago!

Tyson killed and buried 15,000 hens in Arkansas after they tested positive for exposure to bird flu. They are downplaying the incident but I wonder how bird flu got to Arkansas?
Inflatable electric cars could be cheap (under $10k, with one car targeted for $2500), safe, and have a long range (2500 miles!). The cars could be flat shipped like furniture from Ikea! I agree with the conclusion of this article that the availability of a safe, cheap, and long-range electric car could provide a painless transition to environmentally friendly transportation.
Moa cheap if you can buy em at the military BX or PX, onleh $40 dollar, save ten bucks for gas

Boyfriend posted a video of his girlfriend doing the hula-hoop game from Wii Fit and it immediately got 500,000 views! The view count probably was helped by her being in her underwear in the video. She was upset but apparently now is enjoying her fame.

Pauoa Boy – great to meet you last week. Glad to know you made it back there safely.
Catching up with the blog…
Great bio Midori 7! Thank you for sharing…Can’t believe you were classmates with Jason Elam.
Happy Birthday to BG …you look more like 39!
Eh-sports – How are you feeling? I hope that was only a head cold. Did the Shop-Vac work as an aspirator? What kind of meds did the Dr. prescribe? You came back from the MD pretty lively… at least for awhile. I bet you asked for the shot in the bee….. Hey, SteveM has been under the weather too. Have you guys been working on secret projects together? Maybe he needs a big booster shot in the bee…. too! 😆
Unko Garret I stay moving to San Diego in about a month, where is some good spots down that area for live decent. I looking around Camp Pendleton area, maybe as far out as Riverside, not too shua stay looking.
Lori had a good idea today for our trip to the Oregon State game: It looks like we’re going to take the Amtrack from LA to Portland. It is a lot cheaper than 4 plane tickets and we think our kids will like being on the train together. Has anyone taken the train with kids before?
Good evening to all…
A very happy Birthday BG..hope it was a super celebration….you look great in UA shirt. (hope they come out with woman style shirts)
Pauoa Boy..that must have been a bummer news..
boo hoo i missed the phone call from the football office..had to work.
brew808..thanks for the thoughts.
Kekoa, BG and Wreck..mahalo for all the leg work ( Brie and I hope to make this Bash)
Stretch – Thanks good to meet you and the gang too, wish I could have stayed longer for wala’au with more of you guys but the keikis was getting restless. Anyway, tanks for the decals buggahz is mean had choke people ask me where I gottem, but had to give the mento look and shoulder shrug and uh…I dunno I forget
Kalua Noa, WR, Kaiser offered full scholarship/greyshirt to UH just hours ago.
JaM – Yeah once I found out I was lil bit bummed but I figure could be worst at least I still on the West Coast.
I’m feeling much better, Brew. Thanks for asking. As far as the shop-vac treatment….I’m glad I didn’t have to go there.
My hearing has been alternating from one ear to the other. Doesn’t matter much. At my age now, I think it’s starting to become more selective anyway.
The whole cold has now invaded my chest and hard to breath. It’s going to be awfully hard to wield those darts this weekend.
Glad you’re back. i kinda missed ya.
Pauoa Boy,
Camp Pendleton and Riverside are pretty far north–where will you be commuting to? There are good places with reasonable prices in (going west to east) Oceanside (where Pendleton is), San Marcos, Vista, Escondido, and a bunch of cities as you drive north on the 15 past Escondido.
Are you looking for renting or buying? How long are you planning on staying in the area? How many people will be with you? That makes a lot of difference in the recommendation.
You might now want to put all of this stuff on the blog, so feel free to e-mail me at gokamoto (at) gmail (dot) com. I have to go to sleep now (my boss let me blog when I finally finished my work for the day), but I’ll answer you as soon as I can. That won’t be until lunch time at the earliest because I have a meeting with another company and a professor tomorrow.
Yeah Kaiser!! Go Cougars!!! Take the scholie Kalua!
i mean woof woof woof arf bark
Doris,
Thank you for that update!
PIAA-DS – Hi Doris! Thank you! That’s very interesting news regarding the late offer to Kalua Noa. Now you have me wondering if there was some contingent offer out there, or maybe there was a hick-up with one of the other recruits…. We haven’t heard about all the JC guys…. Hmmmmmmm…..
It was being discussed this afternoon with ST, Kekoa, BG and Wreck… Since the ladies have their own night out with Coach Mack’s wife and we are not invited, the guys need to set up a “Men’s Only Night Out”, no laides invited!! What you guys think??
congrats to kalua noa. talk about perserverance. he attended the summer camp last year, was invited to all home games, coaches talked him up, but he got lost in the shuffle.
several months ago i chatted with his dad, henry noa, former UH wr, and the poor kid had nothing going on. by then, everyone had no room left. they asked him to walkon, but, being one of nine kids it was tough.
the kid never hung his head but kept at it.
nice kid, big upside. 6’2″/190 lb, 4.49/40.
did it all for kaiser, but, may have got buried in the d2.
ST – George Clinton for me. Makes me want to kick back and roll a …

Pauoa Boy,
Riverside is kind of far from Oceanside and Camp Pendleton, especially with gas prices…I’ve made the commute from a little northeast of Riverside to La Jolla (30-40) minutes south of Pendleton). It’s not something you want to have to do that often.
🙄 Public school mutt 😯
Pauoa Boy –
It sounds like you need a combo “scouting trip” and Calf Call down in SoCal….Don’t forget to ask Garret about schools too. 😀
Confunnit!
Darn dog bus’ outta da pen again.
Wat he was doing ovah hea?
Sure get one smug look on his face now….
Good on Kalua Noa.
One time Crusader. #2 happy for him.

Pauoa Boy ~ Ok den…good news from America, you and da ohana made it back safely! ST asked about you this afternoon. I wen Xplain how you knew how hectic things were kona be with your short visit home.
When you get to San Diego, be sure to check in with your Tsaiko Lo Cal Prez, Ronnie, and of course our Ace-in-da-hole, Garret. Too of the best peeps on da planet. At least you will be able to stay connected with da Tsaiko crew. They hold their CC’s at Kings Bakery, and you will be able to meet the other Tsaikos that hang together in the upper 48.
Pauoa Boy,
Glad you made it back okay. Hope da boy’s breathing is OK now.
The good thing about the change in plans is that you can hook up fo’ mean tailgates wit LoCal Tsaikos in da fall. 🙂
bone,
wat’s da marrow?
I think someone in the d1shima household has Dissociative Identity Disorder.
homey,

Just got done watching highlight video of Kalua Noa and wow he look fast. Get good size too, hope he get glue hands maybe could be another J Rivers type?
Tsaiko Villagers ~ Rest assured that your planning group with Tsai at the helm today was looking hi and lo at the SSC facilities. (Good ting we get Xperience wit da EIS checklist).
General speaking, the place passed muster for a Blog Bash Whoppa Doozie! We will be putting together all the answers to the many questions we know will come about from all the eyeballing we gave it. Be patient my fellow villagers and know that ST is working very closely with us to assure about 67% satisfaction. This rest is up to us.
Finally woke up from my naps and have a 102.1 degree fever. Thought I was getting better. Looks like I won’t be going anywhere this weekend… 🙁
Going to sleep again. Good night everyone!
BG is dat General speaking…handsome buggah for 61 eh?
Stretch – you still here? I tried to answer earlier, but I think my internet went down as soon as I submitted it or it got smuud.
Anyway, I’m fatally allergic to karaoke, especially places with Club in the name.
Nights are hard for me. Gotta supervise da kids (age 12 and large one around 40ish). Maybe a lunchtime CC sometime…
Big man-child making me play WoW with him. 🙄
Kekoa – Yeah had planny things on the agenda with the ohana, so couldn’t do too much. Looking to hook up with Garret and the rest of the guys down there soon. Maybe can have one CC soon, and again thanks for the Wesside CC you went put together, good to see most of the Tsaiko crew. Oh and which one on here is Ronnie?
d1shima – Thanks my boy definately feeling better, almost had for give him lickens for getting nawts on the plane running up and down the aisle ackin like lil mistah aloha greeting all the people on the plane. So yup no signs of breathing problems.
BG

SteveM – hope you feel better soon.
Time for me to go ne ne too. See ya guys in da am.
Tomorrow is Aloha Friday!!
Just came back from Indiana Jones.
Mixed reviews.
I liked it.
My daughter was so-so.
My son didn’t like it.
Stacy Kaneshiro still is at the helm tomorrow.
But I’ll add some pictures along the way. I’ve got plenty.
GARRET:
A few weeks ago – maybe longer than that – you mentioned losing weight. How’s that coming along? Lower BP and cholesterol as well as weight loss?
Who started The Internet Cold? Five of us in the past week alone have been hit upside the head.
How come no Celtic Shout-Outs?
Does anyone know what a WIKI is? I’ve been invited to join one, but when I asked about the moderator about it, he said that I’d have to join to find out. Please explain. Us folks on the far side of Information Gap need help.
pauoa boy
kalua noa was POY in div 2 football and POY in div 2 basketball. no worry the boy get hands.
CONGRAT Kalua and his Kuliouou ohana!
Good kid, hard worker. He, along with all his siblings, has his head screwed on the right way. Looking forward to seeing great things for him.
Al, you hit it on the nail, he got shafted as a d2 player. You look at his production for Kaiser and can’t help but wonder why nobody took a closer look at him. He comes from a very athletic family: dad, Kaulana Noa (cousin), Laanui Correa (cousin), Nahe Noa (brother), Regina Kaaihili (cousin)…and the list goes on.
this is a WIKI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dnL00TdmLY
no forget brother waikoloa noa who walked on at UH recently.
ST:
Told my wife indiana Jones should be collecting social security. it didnt cut it for me.
Congrats to Kalua. If he is a tough cat like his dad, Kalua is gonna be a winner.
Size, speed, and toughness….. hmmm? Another JRiv? I hope.
oh yeah, and his cousin Haku Correa…
Al, you know the family well?
stephen perhaps you can put in a requisition for an upgrade in camera. i was looking at your dinosaur last week. you could get better results.
I like your pictures ST. And wasn’t there a bio scheduled today or did I miss the “day-off” memo?
i know the dad from back in the days.
older brother of kalua at one time lived across the street.
my #2 son also a kaiser grad.
ran into henry a few months ago and we talked about his son.
told him to go talk to miano.
then glanville or mouse.
then go jc route in arizona since they offer scholies.
even had a tsaiko talk to the wildcats of weber st on his behalf.
also, spoke with doris who told me he took too long to get his tapes up.
i guess they never realized the importance of planning.
they thought offers would come a knocking on the door.
i am very glad for him and family.
he will play all out local boy style and will out hustle anybody out there.
he will be a player in the years to come.
i think he ran a sub 11.0 100m and ran a 4.49 in his junior year.
good kid.
I can’t make the pictures too perfect, Al.
Then you’d never go out in public.
Go Celtics!
was just wondering al…his mom is a Reeves….so is my husband. The Noas are a great bunch of kids. Kalua and his brother helped us pack our container when we moved to Kona. Hard worker.
I agree, Kalua will be a great asset to the team, both on and off.
too cute stephen.
these puppies are like having an anchor. in a month things will be back to normal. by then we will still have three dogs. mom n pop and one baby.
that would be good on a cold night.
we could actually live out a “three dog night”.
let me guess, ST new post soon?
i forgot that you guys are in kona.
kona people are nice.
don’t you think that the twin city of kona is kihei, maui?
first!
whoa stacyj
you got me all excited for nothing.
gee.
don’t i get a “mahalo” for my post #430???
oh well….different strokes for different folks.
adios amigos…….!
Hope you never wet your pants in excitement!
ROFL.
twin city…no comment.
uh, mahalo Al
ST, where are you? I like go sleep but I like see if you going post one new one.
check one, two…..anybody stay? am I all alone?
stretch’s mom?
Al:
Comparing Kona to Kihei, thems fighting words.
Kona is the best place to chill. Kihei, well, hard to find the locals.
When I was a tour director, everybody would fight for a group in kona.
Good people, everybody know everybody, everybody take care each other.
But be nice, be respectful of the peeps.
And let the good times roll….
anybody?
Koauka! Yeah!
Yup, Kona is awesome. No plans to ever move back to the concrete jungle. I like single lane highways, people who still throw the shake at oncoming cars, and the mom and pop stores just down the road.
stacyj:
wish i could move to kona, but the mrs said she like the life on this rock. so if i want to go, a one way ticket is cheaper than round trip. (lol)
Someday soon I’ll be back. miss the peeps.
g’nite Koauka…what a tease, yeah!
oh, you are here….
What area did you live?
Stacy Kaneshiro is going to do the new post.
He’s borrowing the blog because of the baseball draft.
I can handle…. the tease that is. Aloha. i can stay up all night i like. No work till
2pm, gonna have fun now. Not to thrilling at 2pm – yuck!
One thing about Kona, you got it all…ocean, mountain. Got camping, cowboy life, fishing. Can head up Waimea or up Mauka. if you feel like driving, go to Hilo for the day. And the pace is so relaxing. I sat in traffic today because of major rain for 40 mins and it seemed like 10. Just cruise.
St: okay, then I won’t think everyone is talking to me again. Kinda like when you are at the store and someone calls out Stephen and you look, but they weren’t calling you. I thought coming out from lurking, everyone was my new friend.
k-night for real. kids will be up with the chickens…and, no, i don’t have chickens. I know I live country, but….
stacyj:
The tour groups I worked with stayed at Hotel King Kamehameha and the Kona Surf.
I believe the Kona Surf is now a Sheraton (I think).
The folks at the Kona Surf were the best.
I guess I gotta enjoy life in Pearlridge for now. I keeping mailing my Publishers Clearing House entries. Maybe if I win the $10 million I can live at Hokulia and be June’s neighbor.
I can only wish and dream.
Stacyj
KALUA NOA
howzit. great to hear about your relative Kalua. Shows me that Coach Mack is committed to Warrior Nation. He and his team is on it! maybe Kalua go walk around the practice field soon, get vibed, get his visuals adjusted right.
great comment on your family. congragulations to the Noa ohana.
GO WARRIORS!
There was a racket going on across da street so I went over – and confirmed my suspicion – kulolo production has resumed 🙂 So, I gonna bring some over for da Ronnie and Rich call…
Hope Genji’s will let me bring in outside fuud… 😉
Nitey night – everyone get healthy again soon!
Happy B-Day BG, like someone said earlier you don’t look a day over 40.
Good morning Tsai-kos!
Hope everyone has a super-ific Aloha Friday!!!
Looks like winter has arrived, again, over here. Please, could the main chapter members send some warmth and sunshine our way?
wafan, I feel your pain. It is pretty warm up here today (upstate NY) but it was in the 40’s last week.
Wafan how come you stay up so late tonight?
make that up so early today.
😀 😆 😀 Good Morning Tsaikos and Warrior Nation!!! 😀 😆 😀
Stacy K – let’s get this show started! Ahhh, 44 more rounds to go….. In the meantime, what do you think of Shane Victorino and Kurt Suzuki? BTW – today is Kurt Suzuki bobblehead night in Oakland…. hope he has a big game for the A’s!
~•~•~•~ 🙄 😀 😆 ~•~ Good Morning ST!!! ~•~ 😆 😀 🙄 ~•~•~•~
😀 Everyone have a terrific Aloha Friday! (Note: Esme has a great list of Happenings on her HawaiiMoms.com website!) 8)
Good Morning Tsaikos!! It’s ALOHA FRIDAY!!!
Is this a new code word?? Now we have jojo’s “something”, BG’s “dessert” and now jm2375’s “WoW”. I need to keep an eye out for these words in the future….
… and Stretch’s…. “work”….. j/k 😆
Am having a 2nd glass of iced coffee. One Beck’s coming up later in the day.
Whooo boy, I got up at 4 this morning and am wired from the caffeine.
By next Thursday, I’ll be in the air flying to Tokyo!!! Can’t wait!
😯 …. whoooah – Beck’s by 6:00 am….. Great Aloha Friday to you gigi! 😀
Last night, daughter concocted a new drink for herself — mixed vodka with cranberry juice.
It’s been a long time since I drank vodka — maybe 40 years ago???
Good morning Stretch and all da odda Tsaikos!
Guess you not one gamer Stretch – WoW is World of Warcraft. The hubby is addicted and drags me in every so often. I went willingly first time, not so much now. Usually end up spending most of the evening playing.
OK catch you guys later. Off to get malasadas for da office and then drive over the mountain and off da cliff…. SPLAT!!!
Have a Great Aloha Friday! :8):
oops :8)
okay let’s try that again. 😳 8)
If you off da cliff, don’t take the malasadas with you!
…coffee (hot/black or iced …. vodka cranberries or cosmopolitans…. Beck’s … malasadas … all while we wait for Stacy K! … Life is good…. 8)
Brew — Don’t you get the feeling that Stacy K is wasting his time here? Out of 482 comments, how many were about baseball? haha
new post…. by Stacy K!
Good morning Tsaikos everywhere.
Gigi,
Vodka. Heard a guy celebrated his 40th birthday in Hilo 20 years ago drinking triple teenies with his buddy on the Independence. Woke up in Maui. 😳
