Former UH punter Alex Dunnachie and long-snapper Luke Ingram are scheduled to arrive in Indianapolis today for the NFL Scouting Combine.
Each already has been interviewed by 20 NFL teams.
Ingram is scheduled to participate in the 225-pound bench press, vertical jump and, possibly, the 40-yard dash.
Dunnachie is scheduled to only punt, although he said he would be willing to participate in any of the sprints or jumps.
Former UH cornerback/returner Mike Edwards, who has been training in Arizona, will arrive in Indianapolis on Friday.

Top 10!
Thought today’s title had something to do with Cat’s pup.
Good luck to the former Warriors in their next phase of life!
Top 10!
UH needs a punter. Harding was good in a pinch but McBriar and Dunnachie proved to be valuable assets in changing field position with their booming punts. Chow should be tapping the Aussies again for the next McBriar or Dunnachie.
GOOD MORNING HAWAII!
Top 20!
Best wishes to our future Pros!
Good luck to the trio.
I think Harding did a great job until the opposing teams figured out how to counter that rugby style punt. IIRC, it didn’t work as well after a couple of games.
Hope we do find ourselves a full time punter.
Good luck to Dunnachie, Ingram and Edwards at the Underpants Olympics & meat market.
Good morning Tsaikos!
Happy Birthday Committed Road Warrior!
Best wishes to Dunnachie, Ingram and Edwards. Represent!
GO WARRIORS!! Take down #1!
#14… The rugby punt is awful and there’s too many moving parts to be consistent. The punter has to move about 5-7 yards before kicking, whereas a standard punt is only 2-3 steps.
The advantage to the rugby kick is when the ball takes a crazy bounce, but the weakness is that there’s no hang time and coverage doesn’t have time to cover when the ball bounces forward and the returner is able to grab it quickly.
Every team in the NFL still does it the old way and there’s rarely a blocked punt, so why mess with what works.
#17,
if it ain’t bloke..i mean broke, don’t fix it.
Good morning everyone!
Best of luck to Dunnachie, Ingram, and Edwards!
Good luck to Luke, Alex, and Mike!
GO WARRIORS!!!
GO NUTS!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COMMITTED ROAD WARRIOR !!!
I vaguely remember him selecting his blog name around 5 years ago. Kinda long blog name I thought… but he has lived up to blog name. I know he has attended almost all UH football road games since then.
His most memorable treks was to drive from Arizona (his school/residence at the time) to FRESNO, watch the game, then drive home immediately after the game. Another was at SJSU, when he flew from Washington D.C. to SFO with a few hours to spare, drove down to San Jose and made the game. Stretch let him use his hotel room shower after the game and he drove back to SFO to catch a night flight back to D.C.
A few months ago jm2375 and Committed Road Warrior inaugurated the Washington D.C Tsai-ko “chaptah”. Now the game is headed his way this November. π I’m starting a pool on his missing that game because it’s too close. πΏ
Good morning I agree we need a punter and not Harding. If anything Harding could be used when we are punting from the 50 yard line and in.
Nice write up on Mike Edwards.

Here’s to high ratings at the combine for Alex, Luke, and Mike.
I say Ingram does 16 reps in the BP, jumps 30″, and runs the 40 in 4.95.
Oops! Forgot to wish the best to Luke too! Go Warriors!
Time to sign up for the Na Koa golf tournament on April 9th. 84 teams and the tournament sells out every year. Sign up now!

With Chow’s offense, field-position is a must…so, I’m rather surprised that he hasn’t spent much time trying to secure a good punter. I noticed on WSN, that there are a number of JC kickers still available including a transfer from Utah who can play 1 year. C’mon Chow, get with it…
I similar to the treasured facts you provide you with on your articles.I’ll bookmark your web page and take a look at all over again listed here frequently.I’m somewhat convinced I’ll discover considerably of latest stuff proper listed here! Excellent luck to the subsequent!
If I spoke like how the spam writes I’d never get a girlfriend. π
I’m in agreement that we need to find a punter. Rugby style punts are situational at best and cannot be relied upon in times of poor field position. I am rather shocked that UH has not secured a punter yet.
Good luck to those participating in the upcoming combine.
Fantastic web site. Plenty of useful info here. I’m sending it to a few pals ans additionally sharing in delicious. And of course, thank you in your sweat!
RB,
Thanks for that link. I agree completely with the article. He’s a sleeper.
Good luck to our Warrior hopefuls. Hope they all look great in the combine.
Happy Birthday CRW! π
It’s a slow day.
How slow is it?
It’s as slow as….
Good luck to Hawaii Boys at the combine. (Including Manti).
…..and BEAT DA ANTEATERS!
@32 No problem. Would be nice to see Mike go higher but still would be proud to see him get drafted.
Seems

Feeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrp
Hoosiers-Spartans
Who ya got?
Harding is strong and a good runner, so maybe he’s not such a bad option – always a threat for a fake punt.
Ferrrrrrrrrrrrp
UH VP accused of mismanagement. Why am I not surprised.
d1: Gimme the Hoosiers. John L still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Obligatory huh. Ho, big word eh. What skoo u went?

Really, “C’mon Chow, geet with it…”
Maybe it’s me, but are you really qualified to make such a statement, be so dis-respectful?
And I ask, have you asked coach himself how much time he’s spent trying to secure a punter…?
Monday morning quarterbacks and back-seat drivers need a reality check sometimes….SHEEESH….!
I’m pretty sure coach Chow know what he’s got and what he needs…..
Just sayin….!
#27, unfortunately, college coaches don’t spend much time looking for kicker/punters because they are too busy trying to beat out other schools for the position recruits. Often don’t look at special teams until after signing day because many coaches don’t want to use up scholarships on kickers when they only have 25 LOIs with scholarships. Sad but true. See Boise St and their kicking woes that cost them a couple of BCS bowl berths.
The good news is that college football doesn’t have strict roster limits like the NFL, so they can bring in a handful of guys and the coaches let them compete for the job. Too bad UH doesn’t have a men’s soccer team to poach kickers from.
I had a high school classmate that had a huge leg and was easily making 55yd FGs in high school and was the top kicker in the league but two Pac 10 teams he was in contact with wouldn’t offer a scholarship because they didn’t give scholarships for freshmen kickers. He ended up getting an offer from Montana and helped get the Grizzlies to 3 National Championship game appearances in his 4 years. Griz won the title in 2001.
Oh my! Whaddagame in East Lansing!
Wow!
Good luck to Alex, Luke & Mike!!!
Whew! That was like a bonus Final Four game in February.
UH leadership is going to investigate management by one of their own. Truly the blind leading the blind.
Get comfy! This is going to be good. Which outside counsel will they hire and for how much. Hopefully, one of our Tsai-ko counselors will be tapped with the golden wand. I figure if someone is going to make the cash it might as well be someone I know and respect.
Hope (in addition to cash) springs, apparently, eternal(ly) from the UH leadership. So much for transparency.
Old news, but…
Rainbow Wahine Softball (8-4) return from Easton Desert Classic to find themselves up in the polls to #19 in the NFCA one and #21 in the ESPN one.
Kelly Majam captures the Big West Field Player of the Week award which makes it the second week in a row that a Rainbow Wahine claims one of these. Previously, Kaia Parnaby was named Big West Pitcher of the Week and was in consideration for POW this week as well.
Wow! Spam from Jupiter.
The WB is universally appreciated by Warrior fans!

Allan – where did you get the idea that faculty members have on-campus housing? Only the president is guaranteed housing. There’s housing available but not assigned, most of which is in Manoa past Noelani Elementary. And, no, rank and file faculty members don’t get a housing allowance.

45: Everybody’s got an opinion, even you…I’m no more qualified than you are, that’s what makes us fans. The fact remains we don’t have a punter and that is a critical element on any football team. I don’t see where I disrespected Chow by questioning the absence of a punter on the roster…
We can ask Coach Chow on Call the Coach tomorrow night and see what he says…Meanwhile, you’re entitiled to your opinion and so am I…
Mahalo!

What? We have to pay football travel subsidies for new members too?
Great Morning All!
Swimming, Diving and Golfing today. No, not me. Rainbow Warriors and Wahine.
Go Bows!
Good luck to Mike, Alex and Luke this weekend.
I would think the added TV bonus money might compensate for the travel subsidies. Besides, its not costing UH anymore than what was paid last year. Now that I think about it, its less than last year.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I had doubts about the amount of the travel subsidies as I was typing. Was hoping someone would correct me.
