Graham grateful for audition
Although he exited a three-day tryout without a contract, former UH quarterback Taylor Graham was grateful for the opportunity to compete in an NFL camp and build his resume.
“I didn’t make it unfortunately,” Graham said following the New Orleans Saints’ mini camp this past weekend, “but they said I did well. I’m hoping it will lead somewhere, too.”
He said the camp consisted of draft picks, free agents and tryout players.
“Practices and films,” Graham said of the activities. “It kind of felt like fall camp a little bit. I threw a lot. It was fun.”
Graham said he learned about “professionalism” from players who were on practice squads last year.
“Being in the NFL for a year already, they understood the professionalism behind it,” Graham said. “It was good to see how they carried themselves and how they acted and their study habits. That was very beneficial to me moving forward.”
Graham said he has no concrete plans.
“I’m making a lot of calls,” he said, “and praying a lot.”

Well, two former UH specialists are proving there’s a lot of life left in their legs. Kicker Daniel “Ice Man” Kelly and punter Alex Dunnachie helped the SoCal Coyotes win the AAA Professional Football League’s spring championship.
Good luck Taylor!
Go Warriors!

Never give up on your dreams…Good luck to Graham
🙂
Fulfill your destiny! Good luck to Graham!
Morning All. So, I guess he won’t be a surprise addition to summer camp–see: http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2015/05/everett_golson_will_transfer_t.html#incart_river
Which gets me, again, all riled all up about Charlie Weis, the most overrated coach in the history of college football. Who is still collecting in the multi-millions, not from one, but two colleges in “break-up fees.” A little side note, when Notre Dame was going through their due diligence of considering his departure, they reached out to my friends father, who was formerly a big UH booster guy. According to him, they (ND) couldn’t afford a one-time payout, and asked Charlie if he would settle for less–he said, “NO.”
Hmmmm, all that rah-rah Notre Dame Alum, this is my dream job, protect the institution, showed its real self in a quick minute. It was all about him–period. I think they initially paid him 6-7 million up front, and then have been paying down the considerable balance ever since—which I think is near the 20+ million marker. God, I hate Charlie Weis….
what’s dis bout a “moo” call on Friday?
When opportunity knocks, answer the door.
Congrats to the kickers.
Good luck to Taylor. Wishing you the best. Happy sailing !!!
Good morning everyone!
Tsai-ko Cattle Call
Unlike the urban dictionary definition, the Tsai-ko Cattle Call was more literal. 🙂
After 2 blog parties, it was apparent the Tsai-kos were willing to meet…even at lunch.
Visualize al ringing a cow bell on the blog–calling the Tsai-kos to a meal…
Also visualize the early Tsai-kos as cows coming home (and since I was the 2nd smallest guy at 235 lbs, use your imagination). 😛
Click here to see photos of the earlier Tsai-ko Cattle Calls.
Cattle Call this Friday, May 22, 2015 at 12:00 noon
Maple Garden (chinese buffet)
RSVP on the blog for Akamai Okole’s (D1shima) number/table count
All are welcome– hey, that’s how we met in the first place…
Arena Football League.
Keep getting paid at what you love to do the most.
Look at Matt Lojeski.
Olympianados.
I actually watched that game against Moscow on ESPN3.
He had 2 pts on 1-5 shooting, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 13 minutes.
No “moo” call for me..got work too! Next time.
Good lunch time. Good luck Taylor. You’ll get there.
I think Taylor will be a good edition to New Orleans Saints club. He’s 6-5 tall and bigger than some other draft round pick players. Really!
Tiki808,
Too bad Graham isn’t an addition to the Saints. As most men are lead to believe, size doesn’t matter.
Norm Chow should be elated. Norm gets to keep his job.
Great Afternoon All!
A-house,
Yes! Hope you can make it. If not, send the fairer members of da hale! 😉
SteveM,
Thanks for the assist.
#17, Norm may be elated but almost everyone else is deflated.
Graham played maybe 6 games for UH in 2 years and had more int. than td? For those wishing he is a Saint surely must hate that team.
#7, Weiss is a genius compared to Chow.
It’s like the show terminator. Just 2 doing the damages. Focus on them only.
bouncingball… almost ne one would seem 2 be a genius next to coach chow…with his record….hope he can improve it this year…. seems he has talent at QB…SO MOST ON HERE WOULD SAY…n added a few coaches…lets see how much of an improvement all that brings to his record…
dj riggins has left the uh football program.
Who is supporting Marcus Mariota in Tennessee? He has no pay yet? Loans
21- if the applicable metric is negotiating compensation and severance he is head and shoulders over Chow.
However, if you are talking ROI, in the eight full seasons he coached, he totaled 41 wins. Now, here is the part that will burst your head, he was paid, and i mean actually paid, close to 36 million, or about 950,000, per win. Long story short, we have a bargain with Chow.
If not for Bill B, and T Brady, Charlie would still be coaching intramurals.
Tennessee is a good place to live.
if I can dig out of my backlog due to our visit to Orlando – will try to make the Maple Garden “moo” call
funny how people have he “knack” of calling stating that it’s a RUSH when they had weeks or months notice that something will occur
phone rings, emails galore, more phone calls and emails and the beat goes on and on and on – on 5/8/15, day of departure, this client calls about 9 times and sends me nearly 12 emails – all the same subject which is RUSH!
#24:
where is he headed? going to greener pastures where the “athlete” stipend will be higher than UH?
this could be a definite downer for the athletic program and cannot fault the student.
MM already has penned some major endorsement deals. Further, it’s pretty standing practice that your agent/representation will advance you whatever monies you need prior to your deal be signed. Well, this is true for the guys that get drafted in the first couple of rounds…
donyeh patterson has also left the uh program.
Called that Riggins bust when he signed… and since he is no longer a Warrior, I don’t feel guilty confirming that bust.
Riggins apparently headed to LA Pierce College…..while Patterson going to West LA College.
Bad enough that Chow has new frosh players transferring out before they ever see the playing field for UH, but also bad for UH recruiting when Cali recruiting blogger Greg Biggins…….who genuinely likes our home state……starts reporting about these departures from the UH FB program…….’cuz “its’ not good” @ UH.
Good morning! Oahu
with Riggins and Patterson leaving, does this open 2 more scholarships for 2015?
it will open up an 85 scholie, but probably only Riggins will open up a 2015 initial. dont matter though, Chow will give it to someone who’s not even D1 caliber anyway.
what a joke.
Best of luck to those departing players.
Getting kind of crowded at RB and at WR for UH. Looking for good things from Dioceme St. Juste in 2015. Steven Lakalaka expected back in the fall, along with that JUCO player from Santa Monica JC. Devan Stubblefield and Vasquez Haynes (back from injury) should make things interesting at WR.
GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
Would be interesting to find out what was the reason behind Riggins and Patterson leaving the program and going to a JC other than blaming Coach Chow.
I would suspect grades, competition or B-52 cockroaches.
