Football: Monday’s practice
Max Wittek took the majority of snaps in 7-on-7, team and red-zone drills today, but there still is no announced starter at quarterback. The rotation went like this: Wittek, Ikaika Woolsey, Wittek, Beau Reilly. Repeat. The QBs had their moments as the offense continues to improve.

Keelan Ewaliko, who missed a week because of a staph-like infection, resumed practicing today. He’s grouped at right wideout, along with Ammon Barker.
Left wideout Marcus did not practice because of an ankle issue.

Penitito Faalologo is having an impressive spring at nose tackle. During one of the drills, an offensive coach yelled: “Can somebody block the nose tackle?”

It is possible that senior-to-be Benetton Fonua is participating in his final spring training? Fonua, who has never redshirted, is doing well at inside linebacker. He made a strip-interception this morning, earning a high-five from coach Norm Chow.

Great to see some Spring Practice notes again…I’m trying to get myself “up” for the upcoming season. Any surprises in practice thus far? How are the running backs? Any further news on DT recruits?

Based on the last 4 yrs our football Warriors are spinning their wheels. Every year there is promise. Like gym fighters who look real good in the gym but crap out in the ring. You know, shadow boxers. This coming year looks to be the same so far. Prove us wrong!! for goodness sakes! Hopefully our head coach will not meddle with tho O but I think not. Well see in a few months.
Just name Max the starting quarterback already.

With the most recent addition in place still think there is one more to go on DL front. Was looking up info on Taylor when the release came thru. Of course being in the central time zone it’s only 6:30 am when this came thru. Hoping Benny has a great year and I never forgot JGW. When he went down it was big impact. Had that not occurred I think one more if not two more wins last year. Hoping he returns to full strength and has a great year!!! Go Warriors!!!!
