Fonua finds a way
If the new defensive culture were compared to the proverbial content level of a water glass, a pass breakup would be half-full, a dropped interception half-empty.
It was why inside linebacker Benetton Fonua received playful ribbing when he failed to catch a pass following an acrobatic move during yesterday’s practice. But on the final play of practice, Fonua intercepted a red-zone pass and raced the other way to complete the pick-six, earning rousing cheers from defensive teammates.
And that’s Fonua, a hard-hat guy who works hard, never complains and finds ways to succeed. Last year, it was on special teams. This year, as an inside linebacker.

The Warriors will practice at Aloha Stadium for the second time this training camp (or twice as many times as past camps). They have one more stadium practice ahead of the Sept. 3 opener against Colorado.

Frank Webb made the 3,784-mile trip from Dallas to Honolulu to celebrate his son’s special day. Happy 18th birthday to offensive lineman Austin Webb.
Happy Birthday to Austin Webb.
1?
Who is throwing the (infrequent) INT’s reported recently ?
I think it was Zwahlen and Woolsey yesterday.
By the way, I’m in mourning over the passing of Yvonne Craig.
Birthday wishes to the Big guy—Austin Webb!
Happy Birthday Austin !!!
Condolences to the family and friends on the passing of Yvonne Craig.
Coach MacIntyre of Colorado says: “I definitely hope that we’ll be able to knock a few more fumbles loose and be able to push the quarterback back in the pocket and get in his pocket a little bit so now a couple balls might sail…”

His practices zone in on turnovers more than last year…
Happy B’day big guy. Wow just made 18!! Wonder how big he was at birth. Keep working young man and soon enough your time will come.
Good to hear Max’s lucky 13 number is holding up, with the finger and foot incidents and the infrequent INT’s.

Yvonne had a distinctive look as Batgirl and was a pioneer of female superheroes per an article.
“The was the object of countless boys’ lust as the original sexy sixties Batgirl, but for a generation of girls, actor Yvonne Craig was much more: a smart role model in high-heeled boots and an early campaigner for equal rights and fair pay.
Yet Craig will also be remembered for her broader impact. Australian author Tara Moss was one of many to describe her as a “pioneer of female superheroes”, for her dual role as studious librarian Barbara Gordon turned fearless Batgirl, who was often called upon to rescue Batman and Robin, at the last minute and without breaking a sweat.
Behind the scenes, Craig was just as fearless, convincing producers to allow her to perform all her own stunts, unlike her co-stars Adam West (Batman) and Burt Ward (Robin).”

Aloha Chopsueyboy! How are you? Long time no see! 😉
Great teams are made of guys like Fonua. He stayed home and is part of the reason we have the talent and the excitement going into the season.
Happy Birthday Austin Webb! Mahalo for being here and being a Warrior. Put in the time with Beemer, Nae’ol,e the rest of the players and coaches, and we will look for big things from you. And a special Mahalo to Frank Webb for coming out to celebrate Austin’s birthday – it can’t be easy to let an 18 year old do what Austin is doing and we appreciate what your sacrifice.
