Father’s Day

The Warrior coaches received a special Father’s Day present with Waianae defensive tackle Kennedy Tulimasealii’s official UH acceptance.

Last month, Tulimasealii met the NCAA requirements to compete this coming season, but he still needed to gain admission into UH. He has been notified of his UH acceptance.

The five Warrior football clinics on high school campuses drew nearly 500 participants overall, exceeding the total for the three camps held at UH last year. This year’s total will grow with the upcoming youth camp on the Manoa campus.

UH coach Norm Chow said the road shows helped bring the program into the community. Two of the camps were held on the neighbor islands.

    Happy Father’s Day gang!

Happy Father’s Day all! Kokohead is the stairs master on steroids! It’s a 1048 stairs but each step is very large more like 2-3 steps. So the shorter u r the harder it is! But kokohead is more mental toughness than physically! So people who do it often as a workout can shave down the mental aspic of it. Jus FYI on yesterday’s convo

  3. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 6:09 am

    Jonj:

    Thanks for the update.

    And also for counting.

  4. wafan June 16, 2013 6:12 am

    Good Father’s Day morning, again!

  5. Jonj June 16, 2013 6:12 am

And to answer ur question tsai. Yes I can play receiver, but I’d rather STrong safety! But more like at a div 4 level as its been 9yrs since I’ve played. Lol

  6. wafan June 16, 2013 6:12 am

Hey, 4 and 5 after the zapper is deployed.

  7. wafan June 16, 2013 6:13 am

    Okay, 4 and 6.

  8. wafan June 16, 2013 6:15 am

Stairs are killer. Heck, just walking is difficult with a bad back.

Glad there are some who can take my turn on those hikes!

  9. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 6:16 am

    Jonj

It’s always better to hit than to be hit.

  10. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 6:18 am

I like the Makapuu hike. Except when the 75-year-old women with the Velcro-fastened shoes scoot past me. Don’t make me nudge you over the side.

  11. d1shima June 16, 2013 6:26 am

    Great Morning All!

    Congratulations to all the Fathers.

Thank you to all the Dads.

  12. d1shima June 16, 2013 6:27 am

Congratulations to Tulimasealii…and all the other new Rainbow Warriors!

  13. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 6:32 am

It only took a mere 35 minutes to zap 600 spam posts. Of course, there was some collateral damage along the way (sorry about that, Wafan). I kept hitting the “spam” button but zapped some legit posts inadvertently, too. My bad.

  14. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 6:33 am

Hope everyone had a nice time last night.

I heard the Guv made a special appearance.

    600 spam?

Dang. I just made 11 spam musubi to take to a graduation ceremony.

I really tried to use the some of the spam. Some of them had gone bad, though.

  24. PurpleMaple June 16, 2013 7:09 am

Does spam go bad? With all the salt, shouldn’t it turn to jerky?

  25. chopsueyboy June 16, 2013 7:14 am

Howzit wafan. Have you tried the brunch buffet at Ivar’s Salmon House?

Awesome and a lot cheaper than buffets here

  26. Richfromoc June 16, 2013 7:18 am

Since I am a numbers guy, this year’s camps averaged 100 participants. What were the total number of participants last year for the 3 camps?

  36. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 8:46 am

I remember passing an elderly couple walking up Makapuu at about 6:30 pm. It would be dark by the time they would head back. That’s when I figured she was gonna push him off the cliff. Didn’t see a missing hiker report the next day, tho. Ah, the imagination goes wild in the clear air.

    Happy TsFather’s Day!

Good to see coach and his staff out and about within the community. UH’s Athletics PR wing need to capitalize on it and get the word out before, during and after every event.

    Happy Father’s Day Gangeez! 🙂

Thanks to Na Koa for a great fundraiser last night. The Guv made a special appearance, Coach Chow addressed the crowd and introduced his coaches. Special Mahalo to Stretch, Powder Puff, chawan_cut, Mo808 and her loverly sister, the loverly koakane and my Sweety. A good time had by all. Coach Chow is the kind of guy anyone would want their son to play college ball for – the essence of father hood. A special Happy Father’s Day to you, Coach!

    Welcome aboard, Kennedy!

  59. A-House June 16, 2013 12:30 pm

A happy day to all be it Christmas, Father’s or Mother’s day, anniversary, birthday, welcome or aloha to all here and all those who have gone before us!

    Make it count!

me, I get to view 4 more “taped, canned” classes to prepare for the company moving to a new computer system called “EPIC” – so dry – makes me sleepy!!!

  60. A-House June 16, 2013 12:32 pm

    tommui:

we are at episode #63 of 81 for Jumong – ready to switch?

yesterday, besides watching the boring 4 classes, we watched 5 episodes of Jumong

  61. tommui June 16, 2013 12:52 pm

    AHOUSE #62

We received Jumong first three episodes from Netflix and saw them all yesterday. Lois is sort of hooked!

Kyeon Mi-ri looks a lot younger in Jumong though it has been more than three years when Dae Jeum came out.

Waiting for Netflix to send the next disc!

Keeping up with Jewel in the Palace, we will start with Jewel in the Crown next!

Happy Father’s Day. Hope Gail and the kids are treating you right!

  62. Stephen Tsai June 16, 2013 12:55 pm

    Powder:

I bought two tickets. Chow sold me one that I didn’t use. I mailed the other to Pomai. Did he make it?

  64. NYUHTX June 16, 2013 7:23 pm

Nope neva go, da car no work so I just stayed home, gave da ticket to koakane,

  66. pu'uwai June 16, 2013 8:42 pm

I mailed a check to the Na Koa membership on April 25, 2013 and haven’t heard any response nor has my check been cleared. This is not the first time it’s happened. It always seems to take months to receive a response or clear my check. I stopped my renewal a few times because of this and now I’m trying again and the same thing is happening. Hope they’re not losing additional membership because of this kind of poor management. Can anyone assist me with a point of contact, etc.? Imua Rainbow Warriors & Rainbow Wahine!!!

  67. iwonderwhytheyhateme June 16, 2013 9:28 pm

How was the Warrior Bash turnout? From the looks of the pictures it looked successful.

  68. clyde June 16, 2013 10:32 pm

Hope all of the fathers – and those who serve that role – had a great day.

We’ll see ya in the morning.
