Falcons and the showman

Unknown-2

It’s summer break, sort of, for the NFL, but former UH linebacker Brenden Daley is living up to his nickname’s credo: A shark never stops. Daley will continue to work out in California until he reports to the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp on July 22.

Unknown-1

The Falcons, by the way, will be featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” From a chat with our blog, here are some “Shark” bites:

On his plans: “I have a solid month to train and watch as much film as possible.”

On life in the NFL: “It’s a strict business. The last day I was there (for mini camp), a linebacker got cut at 11 o’clock at night. It was very eye-opening.”

Another lesson: “I learned the NFL is about being a first-timer. You have to do things right the first time. It’s very professional. I enjoy it a lot. It makes me very excited.”

On his approach: “I focus on the process. All I think about is going out there and being the Great White Shark, and doing what I do. I can’t worry about things I can’t control.”

imagesOn NFL food: “They have a very good cafeteria. I enjoyed it. Smoothies in the morning are very good. I like getting a nice blueberry smoothie in the morning. And I like black-bean burgers. I don’t want to eat all that meat before the second practice. (Those burgers) are very good.”

Confession: “I put a little bacon on there. I need a little something else. It’s real bacon, not bean bacon.”

Unknown

On his upcoming performance: “For my rookie show (at UH), I did a little dancing gig with Aaron Brown and Corey Paredes. We didn’t win. I want to win. I’m excited about my (upcoming) rookie performance (with the Falcons). I’m going to think long and hard and give the people a great show. I don’t want to give away too much, but I have one word for you: Kilt.”

On representing Hawaii: “I”m still kicking, throwing up the shaka sign as much as I can.”

Aloha all! Mrs. Boola is always attempting to persuade me to try veg-meat items, like bean bacon—its the height of heinous and horrible.

  19. tommui June 25, 2014 9:41 am

Brenden wrote “And I like black-bean burgers. ”

Wonder if he meant black-beans (like Cuban) or black-bean Chinese?

Where is Al – the hamburger chef?

  20. jm2375 June 25, 2014 9:46 am

    Good morning Tsaikos!

    Best wishes to Mr. Daley.

Counselor – #21 – think it means vegetarian burgers, like Morningstar.

Vegan bacon – what’s the point?

    Good Afternoon Tsaiko Nation !

Hot today in Los Angeles as I get ready for some tennis playing against the elite here at Fox Hills. So glad I picked up tennis in Hawaii as it has paid off BIG time staying in top shape and improving my game for the past 33 years in which I can say with out a doubt a 4.5 level that Dr. Jack Rocker saw my love for the game and instill the strategy and fundamentals that he taught to me in his 101 class in which I got an A for high achievement.

Tom, concerning tickets will may need for San Diego State awaiting on LWC to pick up two tickets on my behalf but since they are so sketchy paying for away games I will be coming to you as there will be a brunch that morning afternoon before San Diego State game sponsored by my LWC bruddah Don Weir at San Diego Little Italy. I will know by September as that will give me time to purchase from you. If you may be gone by that time I completely understand. Still have that GREAT banner you sent me as it has been AWESOME in my recruiting efforts.

Be well good folks as I am off hitting like Wimbeldon !

  28. jimmy the lock June 25, 2014 2:45 pm

So if a shark plays soccer would it bite its opponent?

    It’s the Daley show.

  29. jimmy the lock June 25, 2014 3:03 pm

    1) Save empty Mayo jar

    3) Fill Mayo jar with vanilla pudding
    4) Eat pudding straight from the jar and watch mom freak out.

  39. Shoko June 26, 2014 6:37 am

Small’s video highlights looks pretty good. Appears to have good vision and fairly quick. Appears to have been playing behind a more stout running back at Verritos who got the majority of the carries. Sort of reminds me of Will Gregory.

Anyway, welcome to the Warrior Ohana.
