Bolla on leave from team
The UH-Manoa Chancellor’s Office is confirming that Jim Bolla is on “indefinite leave” from the women’s basketball team.

Remember Kani Kauahi?
It appears he’s one of the candidates for the o-line coaching job at UH.
He has impressive credentials: Played 11 seasons in the NFL (Seahawks, Packers, Cardinals, Chiefs), and he’s coached in the NFL (Cardinals), CFL, XFL and AFL.
He also played for the Warriors.

From Curveball:
I would like to thank all of you for you kind words and thoughts for Kristin. You are an extraordinary group of people. She was amazed at the prayers for her when she was in the hospital and she would again be amazed at your outpouring now. I copied yesterdays blog and forwarded it to her daughters. I have not completed plans for her service but I am working with Kekoa and will soon advise. Thank you all so much. You have all touched my heart and Kristin is smiling on all of you…..Aloha
First?
Chee-hooo – numba 2!
EKOLU
chree!
Numba tree!!!
Fine den. Nevah Mind.
Kauahi sounds like a good candidate.
How recently was he with the Cardinals? (under who?)
ST,
When are the new staff positions going to officially be announced? Also remember talk of 2 suprises, what were they? L lurk alot but may have missed them.
Mr. Kauahi’s credentials looks like he could be a very VALUABLE piece of the puzzle, the difference between a losing season in 09 and a winning season in 09 and years to come.
Dats Chree @ Chree!
heheheh
Does he know He Hate Me?
Think he will be a good choice for the job. Remember watching him back in the day.
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Have a great day everyone.
Esme & out…
Hi Steven – I know that on paper this O-line coaching position would replace Alex Gerke’s, but based on his credentials, it sounds like it’s Brian Smith’s. Are things being shuffled? Thanks,.
D1,
I am still in favor of having both teams pick their fastest runner and lining them up on the opposite 40 yard lines then racing for the ball at the 50 instead of a coin toss to determine starting possession.
Of course the risk of injury would be high, but damn was I entertained watching that.
The XFL could have worked had Vince McMahon, Jr. funded it, laid out the basic concepts and hired someone with an extensive football background to run the thing.
Of course crappy timeslots and wishy washy network commitments played a big part in killing it, not to mention their “balls out” approach to trying to directly compete with the NFL despite they’d be doing it in the off-season.
His credentials couldn’t be better. Another local boy coming home?
Do you know when they’re going to announce the 2 new coaches?
“He Hate Me” is funny.
But “Why U Cry” on the back of a linebacker’s uniform would have been better.
It’s going to be a while before they make announcements.
Forms have to be filled, contracts have to be signed, etc.
In case anyone asked, I do not believe Brian Derby applied for the job.
There are two other candidates.
By the way, why did the guy call himself He Hate Me?
Per Wikipedia –
He Hate Me” is the phrase Smart chose to place on the back of his Las Vegas Outlaws football jersey during the one and only season of the XFL (2001). Though most sports organizations allow only a surname or first initial and surname to be placed on the back of a jersey, XFL rules permitted players’ jerseys to be stitched with whatever words they wanted.
Smart explained the origin of the grammatically non-standard phrase in a January 30, 2004 article with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as, “Basically, my brother’s my opponent. After I win, he’s gonna hate me. It is what it is. It’s a saying I was saying when I’d feel something wasn’t going my way. For example, (when) I was on the squad in Vegas and coach was putting other guys in, (if) I felt I’m better than them, you know, hey, ‘he hate me.’ See what I’m saying? Give me a chance. That’s all I ask. It came from the heart. Within. The way I felt.”[6]
When Smart and the Outlaws played divisional rival Los Angeles Xtreme, two Xtreme players put “I Hate He” and “I Hate He Too” on the back of their jerseys to express their disdain for Smart. In a later game between those two teams, those two players changed their nicknames to “Still Hate He” and “Still Hate He Too”, respectively. The curious maxim also caught the eye of American audiences (as well as Smart’s future Carolina Panthers teammate Jake Delhomme, who named one of his thoroughbreds, “She Hate Me”). In an episode of the dramatic TV series CSI: NY, a dead roller derby player is named “She Hate Me.” The phrase “He Hate Me” was used on a headband worn by Bucky Katt in a 2004 Get Fuzzy comic strip storyline by cartoonist Darby Conley involving Bucky’s irrational hatred of beavers. The moniker was also referenced by Spike Lee to title his movie She Hate Me (the main character gives his ex-fiancé the nickname after she leaves him for a lesbian). Mark Cuban has changed it to “He Fine Me” for his shirts worn at Dallas Mavericks games, in reference to the NBA often fining the flamboyant owner. When the XFL was disbanded, Don Walker of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote an article headlined, “He Fold Me”. “He Hate Me”, along with the Sky Cam, is one of the few remnants of the short lived XFL to have a lasting impact.
Of the moniker, Smart said “That’s a part of me, so I never get tired of that. It’s like my birth name, except it only came later than birth.”
Rod Smart was found hanging from a chandelier in his apartment several years after finishing his playing days. Some theorize that the name on his back was a “cry for help.”
wth? JP brah…come on. You’re gonna pull this scheißen on your senior year! Use your head man. Anyway…best wishes and good luck!
NEXT!!!
Kazz,
Sometimes I worry that you and me think so much alike….
hmmmm.
kani kauahi eh?
i seem to recall his name.
and so did someone else………..
i’ll bet that should mr. kauahi get the job, i could envision one tsaiko going down to lend a hand.
…nuff said
d1 – Pretty soon you guys are going to start to look alike.
Oh, and yes ST, I do remember Kauahi.
808chef…..it may be too late for the “pep talk” with jp’s status.
D1,
Brah.. you need help then. 😆
I think Rod Smith’s death is an urban myth.
homey,
I no mo’ game jerseys!
d1 – I’m not talking about the clothing.
Friday the 13th, it’s Jason’s day!
Stephen,
Actually you must be right since it’s been reported that he was selected in the All-American FBL early in ’08….
…Hate live on!
Rod Smith which one?
Who appears to be the other candidates for the coaching jobs?
….or is it Me lives!?!
Smart not Smith!
Smyth not Smith….
Good morning everyone!
Interesting o-line coach news.
homey,
Only one candidate revelation per day!
Now discuss….
Kani who?
I read that koakane has ear problems.
It looks like there will be no substantial stimulus rebates to taxpayers.
C’mon Wie, get off cruise control and step on the gas.
CC next week?
JPD, next time think before you do.
WORK HARD WARRIORS
Kani Kauahi- Excellent!
Nuff said.
al…i know.. wrong post. my bad. small kine excited for the long weekend.
d1 – okay, I will discuss…who are the other candidates? Good to see the one ST mentioned has years of experience and has played with many great ones.
Almost time for nap.
Why is it when someone writes “nuff said”, they still post after that?
what is happening to brian smith if they hire this guy
You’re really deep, homey.
Nuff said.
I thought Kani Kauahi played guard next to Jesse with Jim D the other guard.
Memories form the early 80’s are slippin away fast.
1.21 JIGA (GIGA) WATTS!!!!!
i guess its like saying you going to nap when in fact that would be sleeping on the job so therefore, you cannot.
Happy Jason Day!
ahouse….i wouldn’t question the one with a lot of pride. who played alongside these guys.
c_c
you are worrying me now.
what does that mean?
you and jason what?
Corky Trinidad died.
That guy was an awesome cartoonist.
DPK – you think I’m deep, look at c_c, he is deeper.
al – the only thing I can think of is that chawan is telling A-House to get in his DeLorean and go back to the 80’s and see who is playing next to whom on the o-line.
So I’m looking at this program from the “Rainbow Warriors Football Awards Banquet” in 1979, and it lists the night’s events. The program closes with “the singing of the alma mater.”
And then … disco dancing.
Hey, it was like a grad party. First the festivities, then the old futs go home, and it’s dance time.
Man, I miss the good ol’ days.
and some not so great ones
Yeah ST, saw that in the other paper…
ST…
With JP now suspended and no corners returning with any real D1 playing experience (even on Special Teams), are the Warriors looking for any late signees at corner? maybe another JC corner or two?
SO…any pleasant surprises (i.e., late signees) potentially in the works for Coach Mack and Warriors?
Mahalo!
Here’s the menu:
Salads — Tossed green, potato salad, green bean salad vinaigrette, tuna salad, fruit salad, Jell-O.
Cold platter — Sliced hickory ham, sliced salami, chicken galantine, American cheese, Swiss cheese.
Entree — Steamship round of beef, mahimahi saute meauniere, roast chicken.
Starch — Steamed rice, rolls.
Dessert — Cheese cake, Chocolate Bavarian cream pie.
So, to our bloggers, is the menu better or worse today?
Stretch – I didn’t want to imply anything about certain players.
BTW, I wonder if (J)J wished any of Esme’s moms a Happy Valentine’s day?
Now the 1980 baseball banquet ended with the singing of Hawaii Aloha.
Unfortunately, there was no dancing afterward.
Homey:
You saw that in Ka Leo?
When I was growing up, the first thing I read everyday before the comics was Corky’s cartoons. Actually come to think of it that’s all I read, the comics and the cartoons.
Of course we stopped taking delivery of the SB when Stephen Tsai started working for the HA.
Kapakahi:
I think UH is pretty set at corner. The big loss was actually Kevin Williams, who just didn’t get the work done.
Not sure how he ended up signing elsewhere since he probably won’t be eligible this year.
Reading more about Warrior’s Davis being arrested in today’s HA sports written by Curtis L , I’m a little confused of what’s going on.
He writes……,” He remained in the cellblock at the main police station pending charges”.
Yet in the article he lists all the charges.
“He was booked on one count of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, one count each of second- and third-degree assault, burglary and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug”.
And the part where the CL writes “He remained in the cellblock at the main police station pending charges”… is this suppose to mean… He remained in the cellblock at the main police station pending ***arraignment***”.
Pending arraignment would make more sense to me…not unless the DA (gulp)…has more charges to file.
After the DA files the charges, the arraignment is the next step for Davis. And this can be within 24-48-96 hours, hopefully for him the sooner the better. And if it happened this afternoon, or tomorrow, or the next…and hopefully for him that the judge doesn’t set his bail too high.
At this point the charges against him are really egregious. And I hope that he has a fair trial.
But for all the other young athletes,..and even adults, there are life lessons to be learned here…and not meaning to sound redundant…but you really are going to be held accountable for your unlawful actions.
Steamship round of beef? What did they do, cook the cow’s leg and thigh over hot coals?
I think menus at grad parties are better…and babies first birthday parties too.
My prediction: Jeramy Bryant is going to have a good year.
I also like Lewis Walker.
Good to see Wie put the pedal to the metal for 3 holes!
some things in life don’t change….
I think the baby luau is the best, because the new parents like to go overboard, which is how you end up with shave-ice machines.
Retirement parties are the worst. Too much healthful food.
Lotsa depth on this here blog, homey, lotsa depth.
I used to read Corky’s cartoons all of the time, too. They seemed to relate better to local readers.
Plus, he was such a nice man.
I kind of miss the old days, when a lot of the reporters were pretty cool — Corky, Ferd Borsch, Bill Kwon, Rod Ohira.
Now you give a guy a blog and he becomes a big-headed, overbearing loudmouth.Oh, wait. I think I’m talking about myself …
The menu from 1979 looks much better to me, because back then, I could have eaten most the items without any cares in the world.
These are my “salad” days. 🙁
roysan16 – you can be charged with something but because they are pending they can still be dropped. Something like that. I should have watched more LA Law.
roysan:
Maybe Tom or Warrior Mojo might have a better interpretation, but is it possible that a grand jury indicted JP? That way he was arrested under the indictment, but then not formally charged. Then again, I think in those circumstances, the sheriffs arrest the accused, not HPD. Hmmm….
ST – I personally don’t think you are overbearing.
Sweet aloha to Corky- pancreatic cancer is extra rough. I can’t even imaging the painless, creative “heaven” he is in now!
Jason- you will have another “Jason Day” next month too!
I love the idea of having another coach with NFL experience. Let it be!
Homey:
L.A. Law was awesome. (It’s shown on Digital 604 every Sunday, by the way.)
Sometimes I’ll slam my car trunk and I’ll hear that theme song as I walk into the building … OK, I’d better stop there. Don’t want the guys with the butterfly nets to come calling.
Stretch – Now I know where Pride. got his sense of humor.
DPK:
Yes, and then you could have “cut the rug, a little jive and jitter bug. We want the best, we won’t settle for less …”
Whatever happened to Chic?
Your big forehead is kind of endearing, too.
roysan16- after what happened to Colt in CO, I am hoping that JP will be cleared… but that may be too much of a hope.
wasn’t les murakami an accomplished ballroom dancer?
wouldn’t that 1980 baseball team banquet been a real reason to celebrate?
Thank you Corky for all the years of clever and sharp editorial cartoons. You are in a place where your pencil remains as sharp as your wit and your markers and imagination will never run dry.
that menu was typical of that era.
the food n bev folks used to believe that less items meant a lower food cost. i used to have 30-40 items on the line because i knew by the time they got to the prime rib there was barely any room left on their plates.
steamship round…what a throw back.
ST – I don’t even get to watch reruns of CSI. Nowadays it’s American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, America’s Next Top Model, Lost, Life on Mars, Kitchen Nightmares, America’s Best Dance Crew, The Hills, The City, Fringe, DVD’s…
al,
homey mentioned its Friday the 13th, Jason’s day.
homey,
are you going to celebrate today? (i’m not. i don’t care)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time
http://coolepochcountdown.com/
i’m just waiting for tomorrow night and Nevada. true test for our team to see how far they’ve come.
I have many fond memories of Corky’s work. He will be sorely missed. Deepest condolences to his family.
al,
Don’t read this, but Michelle is in the lead!
al – That’s why at buffets I would just go directly to the best item. That’s why Wreck didn’t get any hamachi and why he is no longer on the blog.
Wasn’t DPK a subject for a Corky cartoon? I liked seeing Corky’s cartoons.
Now I’m older, mature, and more sophisticated. I’ve added the sports pages to my daily things to read list.
homey,
time to get your own TV.
good day everyone. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Man, my fingers are too big for this screen.
Homey:
For me, it’s the Office, 30 Rock (only because I’m scared the DVR will run out before the Office ends), Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and, of course, Friday Night Lights.
I’m sad. The Smash has left us.
I think it’s Jason Street’s farewell tonight.
And I’m thinking UH should sign Tim Riggins.
Good morning Tsai-kos!!
Sorry to hear about the passing of Corky Trinidad. I loved his cartoons and have missed them the past few months. My sympathies to his family.
Does that means neither local paper has a local editorial cartoonist on staff? Is Dick Adair willing to come back or is he having too much fun in retirement?
homey, DPK,
i’m usually just deep in kim chee.
So Kani Kauahi means that Brian Smith isn’t coaching the O-line anymore…or…something? I’m missing something here, aren’t I?
Kani’s got one heck of a great resume…I never knew he was a starting center in the NFL like Samson (the next Kani?).
sad to see corky’s passing.
i hope that the family will put together a compilation of his work. it would tell a lot about our state’s history.
chawan – I’m not a unix guy. In fact I don’t know what you are talking about. I just do security guard work.
Re: 1980 banquet:
They list the accomplishments in this order:
• WAC champion
• Central Region champion
• College World Series Runnerup.
I would think it should be in the reverse order. By the way, the banquet was held on June 13, which was a Friday.
Ooooooooh.
Kekoa – you got mail.
I think Kani’s great accomplishment was as a long-snapper.
He’s just one of the candidates. But it’s apparent that they’re going to split the o-line duties this year.
ST — we are getting old. First the festivities, karaoke and dancing–then the old futs go home while the youngsters have breakfast somewhere.
Disco? I remember that! Please put in a few of those requests next Saturday along with “YMCA”. 🙂
Time to go buy some dark chocolate truffles…bbl.
homey,
i’m not a unix guy either. except at uh when we had to. simpler.
i am thinking that if kani is hired, then he will be the oline coach with brian smith to assist him and the latter would also run the running backs(?).
I saw in a New York blog that someone suggested the Jets trade some low-round picks for Colt Brennan.
Who were the pitchers on that 1980 team? Duquette? Silva? Smith? Kimura? Lane? Lono?
or brian smith may be moved to dline(tackles) coach with the other position going to a running back/spec teams responsibility.
there’s also a position for grad asst available.
I remember when we used to go disco skating. Do you know how hard it was to skate in Angel Flights. I once tried to impress a date by skating backward. I fell on my wallet. I think her name was Wena. I wonder what happened to her?
Gee whiz, what are Angel Flights?
This was the roster:
Rick Bass, CF
Chuck Crim, P
Howard Dashefsky, 1B
Bryan Duquette, P
Jay Erdahl, LF
Les Kakazu, DH-3B
Sam Kakazu, P
Wes Kimura, P
Alan Lane, P
Joel Lono, P
Wade Mauricio, Inf
Gordon Muramaru, Inf
Larry O’Connor, 1B
Mark Olmos, P
Greg Oniate, DH-LF
Kimo Perkins, 3B-C
Thad Reece, 2B
Scott Roberts, P
Glenn Silva, P
David Smith, P
Colin Tanabe, C
Eric Tokunaga, SS
Kevin Wiliams, RF
Am I getting old? I thought Thad Reece was the shortstop.
pride….chuck crim who went on to a nice mlb career.
ST — Wena? She must have had great tolerance and a marvelous sense of humor. Still does, I hear. I don’t think she was impressed by your wallet. 😳
thad reece later became the shortstop, but, the slow footed eric tokunaga was the shortstop that year.
I think Kani played C while Jesse played G.
can you imagine how far they could have gone if that lefty pitcher from aiea didn’t go pro and came back for his senior season?
Thanks ST.
Wow, that was a good team. Hawaii’s 1979 baseball team might have been better though. Funny how that works out at times. Just like that 2006 Hawaii football team that might have been the best ever in Manoa, but the 2007 team is the one that was ranked in the top twenty-five, won the WAC, and was invited to a BCS bowl game.
I’m not a picky eater. If the Awards Banquet only had sushi, some kind of chicken, poke, and dessert I’ll be ok.
My only gripe is not enough plates to separate the fruits, the salad, from the entrée. Eating roast turkey with gravy and some mandarin oranges on top is not exactly appealing.
Stephen Tsai in Angel Flights… hmmm….
1980 UH Baseball team:
al: tokunaga may have been slow, but he was voted into the All Tournament team at the College World Series.
also, who was the 1st baseman who could not hand had hit ground balls in the 2 championship games UH lost to Arizona? After all these years, it’s still a sore spot for me!
Pride:
We saw Chuck Crim in Wriggley Field in August 1994 – close friend got us tickets on the 3rd base side, about 10 rows from the field.
And, when the wind blew in from Lake Michigan, we froze our okoles!!!
Pride:
Did Kani K play all the positions on the o-line?
I remember him at Center and Guard.
trivia buffs:
lyle brackenridge, kalani’s dad played for cal in that 1980 college world series. all tourney cf.
uh all tourney guys were tokunaga, perkins, and tanabe.
chuck crim’s hs alma mater is the same one as recruit rb john lister, thousand oaks hs.
Here’s the 1979 football team’s letter winners:
First year — Kesi Afalava, Keku Akana, Jim Asmus, Dino Babers, John Bell, Duane Coleman, Brent Cullinan, Brad Farmer, Vernon Gearring, Mike Gibson, Larry Goeas, Lyndell Jones, Carl Kenneybrew, Doug Kyle, Steve Lehor, Jerry Marcellino, Bill McKale, Jim Mills, Rick Obbema, Steve Rakhshani, Ed Riewerts, Jesse Sapolu, Kirk Simon, David Yamashiro.
Second year — Keith Ah Yuen, Gary Allen, Wayne Black, Walt Guild, O.J. Hamilton, Tony Holyfield, Dana McLemore, Kingman McLeod, Andy Moody, James Moore, Al Preston, Eugene Price, Verlon Redd, Craig Roberts, Itai Sataua, Mike Schook, Marcus Tarver, David Toloumu.
Third year — George Bell, Jeff Cabral, Burton Coloma, Blane Gaison, Keith Hill, Keoni Jardine, Gary Lewis, Nelson Maeda, Mike Stennis, Semeri Ulufale.
Fourth year — DeWayne Jett, Beldon Kealoha, Jerry Scanlan, Tom Tuinei.
that 1979 team had 7 guys get pro offers. 1980 was to be a rebuilding year.
I weighed 125 pounds as a Roosevelt senior. I was 140 on my wedding day. Let’s just say I’ll be a lot more at my funeral.
A-House, Kani played tackle.
I was a big dork that banquet night.
My program is autographed by James Moore and O.J. Hamilton.
Anyway, they’ll all be giveaways at our next get-together.
Angel Flights were the UnderArmour of the Point After crowd.
ahouse….tokunaga was a student of the game and till today he lives out his passion.
we go back a long way.
Did famolare make skates?
The 1980 class had some guy named Niko Noga and a skinny diver from Kaiser with the Japanese-sounding surname.
The 1980 baseball team had three Rough Riders.
that ’79 football team was fun to watch.
Every now and then I still go looking for my silk shirt with the tiny Mickey and Minnie Mouse design….
…who do we call to get Stephen on Around the Horn?
Darn Angel Flights only went up to a size 34″ waist. Couldn’t score with women back then if you didn’t wear Angel Flights.
angel flights, point after, just how old are you?
So which UH President was it who decided that UH should strive to become the Harvard of the Pacific?
pride…you mean i was that skinny?
polyester was the new fabric.
Who’s Al Preston? Whatever happened to him?
Pride:
You still live Kamehameha Schools, I seen your pic from the Karaoke night and you look like the Intermediate Dorm Advisors Husband and the last names match. Hope all is well……….don’t know if you went Kamehameha to but I’ll give you an IMUA anyway…..Aloha
In case Stephen is going anywhere soon….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eavzqopwd6w
Al, remember the “Point After” had a bouncer by the name of Tufi that was almost as big as the Hawaiian Regent hotel.
ST- was 120 when I graduated back in the day, 125 when I was singing and had long hair, 150 when I was 9 mos pregnant and today I am, as m-homey says, XL-iz!
I’m solidly in the “muumuu are good” league!
I do not remember Kauahi, nor do I remember the 1980 baseball team. I was only -7 at the time. 🙂
Oh yeah, it’s Jason Day. That’s why everyone who looks at me runs away screaming. No, wait, that usually happens everyday too …
d1: Harvard of the Pacific — in terms of academic quality or liberalism?
and I am impressed that Dillon HS was able to install a spread offense in just one bye week….
Howzit and Imua Maui Warrior. No I’m not living at the dorms anymore. Were you a border there? The Punchbowl Kid was a dorm advisor in Maude Post, perhaps you might remember him. He also coached wreslting up at the hill.
Hope all is well with you?
D1:
When I had to go to court, I usually wore my Mickey Mouse tie!
Kekoa: To purchase luminaria to be lit at Relay for Life, you can go to my RFL page (click on my name, the link is embedded in the letter) and click on the Luminaria button.
Jason,
Don’t even go down that road! 🙄
(Yea for the House Repubs for their solidarity…)
Hmmm…I was 140 lbs in high school. 150 lbs after my far east cruise, 165 lbs. after 4 years at UH with Grace’s lunch wagon, 230 lbs after my 3rd cruise, and 245 lb after my 6th cruise a few years ago. Conclusion: Plate lunches are not as efficient at cruises for weight gain. 🙂
Very clever Tom. While everyone was busy laughing at your tie, you were winning court cases.
TOM,
Still got mine! 😉
The Senate vote begins….
SteveM…I better rethink my cruising plans… gulp!
131
looking at the UH roster I can see a few names I recognize from the state championship team Kam 75 ,76, 77 (i think this is right, didn’t actually look it up)
they had some big boys up there then, and really good
and pun, and st louis
off the 75′ and 76′ team the player from Kam that went high in the 1981 NFL draft was david hughes, 31 over all (i bet very few people knew that, i didn’t . read where he’s dedicated his later life into the ministry and HS football coaching in the redmond, Seattle area. always did admire him, remembering him back when he went to kailua int.
yes, pride i remember tufi. we became very good friends.
actually, i was friends with lee. his brother and i ran around back in the day
back to work.
Good to see some Waipahu grads on the baseball and football rosters.
Hard to believe ST was 125 and SteveM was 140 in high school!
I’m not going to say anything about MLiz but I will mention that you should see a picture of her as a singer at 125….BOING!
Just for laughs… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygtBxhFc24A&eurl=http://www.facebook.com/home.php
As in Lee Afuvai?
Al, did you know that there was a “Point After” night club in Long Beach in the 90’s?
Okay gang, ya’all have a good afternoon. Esme and whoooosh$%&*@.
Pride:
Yes i was a border at Maude Post west in starting in fall of ’94…..Holy shit is DPK Mr. Bowden…..All is well had my first child in july and got one hawn homes lot, couldn’t ask for anything more….hope all is well with you…….Aloha
pride…..yup.
I think you are almost right, except for the Mister part
Liz — with more experience I’m down to 234 today 🙂 Am told the average weight gain for a first time cruiser on a 7-day cruise is 6 lbs. That’s why you should travel with experienced cruiser the first time.
However, if you are a regular exerciser, the exercise equipment on a ship is extensive and impressive. It just tends to be the most deserted area of the ship. 🙄 2.5 laps on the jogging deck is a mile…
Yeah, as Janet would say, “it’s Ms Bowden”.
stretch:
Hahaha……….So use to saying that, i probably would still feel like i have to call him that, i guess its like a default setting
homey,
Funny stuff!
I hope you don’t show that to your Valentine or it won’t matter how dark those truffles are….
Jason: I doubt the amount of liberalism at UH (for better or worst) would ever exceed the amount at this list of colleges:

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
d1 – I’m gonna show it to her and my youngest (she has her permit now)!
The other day we were coming out of a parking lot of a shopping center and needed to go across the main street to get to another parking lot. Obviously we don’t have the right of way. But smarty indy car driver daughter starts going across the street and I have to wave at the other cars to STOP. She then tells me why am I waving at the other cars and I say politely, because they let you go. Then she looks at me and says, “That wasn’t a four way stop?” Then it dawned on me my wife was teaching her how to drive…
homey,
Some say, “four-way stop” when they mean, “your-way stop” 🙄
d1 – The way she drives I would have to buy her a tank or a Pride. car.
So three congressmen are looking once again at reforming the BCS, even though I think they should be focusing on the economy and other pressing issues first and foremost:
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/9214016/Congressmen-set-to-amp-up-BCS-reform-effort
homey — just put “Student Driver” signs on all 4 sides and roof…
homey,
An advance announcement of her planned route and schedule would be appreciated 😯
Stretchette wants me to teach her how to drive. I asked her, “Why, you want to get divorced??”
I’m not riding in a car with those signs on it!
Thank God she is the last to learn how to drive. No wonder my hair is white…gray…silver. And thank goodness the hand brake is between the seats. I hold that sucka just in case.
m-homey… the last scene in the vid was… yeah, sure it was a guy…. 😈
bwahahaha!
SteveM- exercise? what’s that? just call me Jabba…. burp….
Done Deal.
3 Rhinos vote, “Aye” (yai-yai).
The Prez gets his $timulu$….
….where’d I put the name of that gold guy?
Stretch- you offer to teach homey’s daughter and he can teach Stretchette! That way, you can have grey hair and stay married 😆
whoosh!
Stretch – Way back in the day we taught ourselves how to drive. Plus it helped to have cars with those undentable chrome bumpers.
Stretch — I taught Peaches how to drive after we first met. Cheap date. But since you are already married, teaching her would be expensive iin many ways. Better hire homey…he can stop traffic. 🙂
When I taught Peaches, car and boat handling theory kinda blurred together… she can drive and dock a small boat… she just doesn’t know it. 😆
MLiz – I actually want to try that parking method one day.
I’m also willing to bet that HR 599 is gonna die in committee just like all the previous bills attempting to reform the BCS and introduce a playoff system to Division 1-A football:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.599:
I’d never let a date drive my car after our first meeting. I mean yeah we could just park on the side somewhere and talk story but I’d never let her drive.
CRW – I can just see network television throwing big bucks to lobbyists to stop it in it’s tracks.
Liz — In my free hour between buffet breakfast and lunch, I go and look at the jogging/walking deck everyday. Great views from there!
…well, except for when we had free Noelani ice cream on the Pride of Aloha from 1130…that cut into the schedule. 😐
homey — that’s how I always have a DD except for when the Bombers fly. 😆
homey: Yep, so can I. But I truly think this one will be sat on for a while while Congress “attempts” (and I say this loosely) to fix the economy. Doubtful this will even go to a vote.
The first sentence in the bill quote from my previous post are ‘fightin words. Federal funding to the 120 D 1-A (FBS) schools in aggregate numbers are huge! In the slim chance that this does get out of committee, garanz everyone’s gonna have an opinion about it.
Hey gang…taking a short break…KK check your e-mail….
Homey…are you making fun of me??? What’s going on??? LOL
FULC – You referring to the writeup she did about a grammy winner?
(J)J – I’m just saying what a thoughtful guy you are!
d1:
Thanks for the L.A. Law theme song. I think I’m going to buy a briefcase.
We were all thin when we were young.
Why, I know of a very attractive Korean woman, at least she appeared that way in pictures. I think she ended up marrying an accountant who worked out a lot and buying a really big television.
If I’m going on a cruise, I’m making sure it’s with a professor. Maybe a movie star, too. And a millionaire.
ST – #202…BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA…sorry MLiz, I like that fairy tale.
Do you think us old (former disco dancing) futs are scaring the young’uns, like the Princess and Jason, when they finally realize they’ll grow up to be like us?
Looking at my past history and Jason’s current situation, I don’t think he’ll journey the same path like me.
no worry, I’ll lead him along the right path
Yes, I did listen to the Nomads when they played at the Point After. And yes, I did have a VIP pass. And yes I remember not remembering how I got home. And yes I had longer hair than (J)J has now and recalling being asked to dance by a guy.
Anybody else going to see Boyz II Men?
Boyz II Men, ABC, BBD
The East Coast Family …
ST — I don’t know about the young’uns, but the Tsai-ko disco dancers often scare me…
Stretch – You sound like that guy in the “Golden Child”.
That’s only Esme, Homey and A-Joe.
Don’t forget that Rich2176 used to be a disco dancer on the original Hawaiian Moving Company (hosted by Kamasami Kong).
What’s scary is that ST can be a choreographer for a rap video.
roysan16;
Yup. That Kamehameha 76 team was good. They beat us in the ILH championship in the last 2 minutes. Gaison to Lorenzo in the Ewa end zone. Still hurts to this day. Last ILH game in the old stadium.
ST, good neighbor:
who the heck is Tim Riggins? position? height? weight? 40 speed?
A-House – in case ST doesn’t respond he is the guy on TV.
Tim Riggins is phenomenal. Not only can he run, block and catch, but he apparently can afford a truck, gas and unlimited beer with no visible means of income.
I see ST smuud a post. Now I’m not #200 anymore and my post references are off by 1. That’s ok, it was a worthy smu.
agree with 201
maaaan
Hey, I lived that life before!
Hey there jojo! Are you Lost?
Homey:
I had to delete it because it dealt with our columnist, and management doesn’t like it when our columnist gets attacked in this blog. Although I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to make fun of me.
In journalism, I’m the equivalent of Chawan Cut.

That’s because you woke up in Stretch’s truck, underneath his beer. Not sure about the gas, though.
You mean other journalists makes fun of you? I just can’t picture Leslie Kawamoto doing that to you. Now Lance Kwon, I can see him doing that.
ok. Who broke the YouTube website?
That is one long URL!
A commun…I mean columnist was attacked? wow…missed that one…
ST – Actually I woke up in my truck, under the rain, and no keys.
I remember Kani Kauahi. Playing with those black high top shoes, great player…
Sorry about thelong URL- it had a pic from the old Hawaiian Moving Co. – I was looking for Rich2176. Hmmm… does he still wear Angel Flights? I wonder …
btw.. YEA for Michelle Wie… go get’em Tiger! oops… wrong (L)PGA…
Wait?
Stretch rolled you.
I knew there was something suspicious about Stretch. I mean, he claims to be an engineer, but he spends an awful lot of time on airplanes …
After the Angel Flight era there was the Miami Vice clothing era.
I found Chawan’s next girlfriend: Jessica Gomes.
He also spends a lot of time dealing with landscaping and lawn maintenance.
Chawan Cut has a sublime sense of humor? 😕

Look what the net has done to radio.
There should be something about newspapers soon.
No facebook acct for me…
You’re welcome Stephen.
ST….#201….MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
Homey…I am thoughtful….LOL
ST…the question is, Do you know what ABC BBD stands for….????
Sick story set in England.

(J)J – I know! I know!
http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php#/video/video.php?v=49756156475
I like what Guy Kawasaki says here…”Make Meaning”… “Make people’s lives better”.
Hope the HA is thinking along these lines when it thinks about the present and the future.
Regarding Eric Tokunaga (or “Toku” as some of us used to call him), he may not have been fleet of foot, but he is one of UH’s all-time surest fielders, could turn a pretty double play as well as anyone and had to be one of the best at laying down a clutch (and often, expected) bunt. In fact, many of the players of the late 80’s were much better at bunting than those in the late 90’s & new millenium come to think of it
And at the end of that video- newspapers are mentioned.
#239 – m-homey… facelessbook account then?
Bel Biv Devoe and Another Bad Creation?
I liked Bel Biv Devoe. “Do Me” is one of my favorite songs, although 48-year-old men aren’t supposed to go around singing it. Well, maybe it’s OK on Valentine’s Day.
Stephen,
Point?
I started at Hula Hut….
Does Jessica Gomes make C_C think of this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eavzqopwd6w
I like Greg Oniate. He reminded me of Matt Stairs.
MLiz – Not even a facelessbook acct. so sad. 🙁
d1 – How long have you been going to Hula Hut? Heaven Must be Missing an Angel
Remember when JJ used to have this played before kickoffs:

The talk of disco dancing reminded me that midnight suggested that the attire for las vegas’s Karaoke Call next week Saturday be Mardi Gras. He and the Mrs. will dress in Mardi Gras regalia and will be bringing bead necklaces for distribution.
He points out that the following week is Fat Tuesday. He has also been to the Ronnie/Rich2176 karaoke blowout and Mrs. Bulla’s karaoke birthday blast… I think he sees a pattern here… 🙂
So, even though I think it should be “Tsai-ko black” since we are taking over the place again, Mardi Gras is OK too since it will match the occasion well…
Doesn’t the guy in the background remind you of a Tsaiko?
http://tinyurl.com/adpoy3
I’m thinking I’ll add her to my Jessica collection.
There is a guy in the background?
SteveM – I think the attire should be sumotori in honor of LV.
SteveM,
Do the Mardi Gras bead rules apply?
My three favorite Jessicas:
3. Jessica Tandy
2. Jessica Alba
1. Jessica Rabbitt
d1 – You want to see man boobs?
I like Jessica Tandy because she reminds me of my second-favorite pun. When a celebrity got a DUI, the headline was:
Driving Miss Demeanor.
My favorite pun is:
You think it’s rubber glue, but it’s not. (Say the last two words fast.)
homey,
It’s always my second choice 😉
great news about Mr. Kauahi,
he is a class act, was a good classmate also. many a late night shared discussing the philosophy of life over 12 oz chilled beverages, truly a time that was BG (before God) for the both of us. Kani was a personal friend of Steve Largent back in the day.
now HE would be a GREAT addition 🙂
homey — that’s optional too.
d1島 — I dunno. We’ll find out…
SteveM,
wow, beads and all, now that is something i can really get into to….someone, i think it was Stretch, sent me the best photo ever of Bourbon Street with some lovely girls freely expressing themselves on the balcony

don’t laugh
copy and paste– i only learned last year
a big url like #223 i would type it out in the old days
actually a lot of things to tell you the truth i learn from this blog
i can pick up a lot of info here
copy and paste for sure i heard and learned here
once i heard u guys talking about firefox, then i tried it and it worked faster
all the acronyms-lol, btw imo etc, i learned here
i heard someone say bookmarks and i learned this here,
once i heard someone saying something about listening to 1420 from the comp…
and at that time i didn’t know you could open more than one window at a time ( so add this to the list of what i learned )
…i know what your thinking…has roysan been living in a cave…
ha…i’d laugh too if i was reading this,…but i tell it like it is
it is what it is
reading this blog daily i definitely feel the pulse of uh athletics , and can read
little nuances of how to use the comp and other daily happenings.
You guys all are great
I hope you guys remembered to order flowers, chocolates, or make reservations for a nice dinner and evening out — without the kids!
An early Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our Tsai-kettes!!!
Plus remember way back you learned that you don’t have to hit the enter/return key and you can just keep typing so it doesn’t look like you are writing in poem-like columns.
Sometimes what r16 writes is like poetry.
homey-270 your right absolutely
i didn’t know.. good memory
it was jason that helped me
and al i think saying something funny about how i was typing
i remember that exchange very well
Mardi Gras, eh? OK! I finally get to wear my NOLA mask!!! Woo Hoo! Tsai-ko black and beads! (no rules apply)…
Valentines, eh? It’s been a looooong time…
bulla
kam school?
class mate with kauahi?
nice memories for sure
especially with how well Kam represents well in everything
Again, all I know is Kauahi is a candidate. But he sounds like a good one.
Bulla…..beads…..Bulla…..beads…

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
mauiwarrior-
Glad to see that all is going well. What kind of work are you doing? I’m retired from KS and writing these days…
Wow, DPK is having a flashback.
A nightmare for Mr. B or for mauiwarrior?
Ahhhh, a four day weekend. Tuesday is Mid-Winter Break. It is just another administrator excuse for a ski trip.
Aw, Liz, you know we love you.
Every day is Valentine’s Day for you.
Happy Early Valentines Day!

Awww, ST…can’t wait til tomorrow on facebook! 😆
I recently had a brief chat with future Warrior Kalani Brackenridge at a Kapolei baseball game. Braddah was in street clothes due to a hamstring injury. On the positive side I can say he has really filled out since last year. He used to be on the skinny side but now he has that football chest….can tell he’s been puttin in some time on the bench.
Erase that first card…
THIS is for YOU GUYS!!!
http://sendables.jibjab.com/view/MCLT6p6GGLO5NOxu
ST…good job…that’s absolutely correct….
Homey…you know it….I’m one of the most thoughtful guys you’ll meet….MWAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA
Does anyone remember when Corky satired the UHAD, with the sketched cartoon of two people discussing UH Football early into the June Jones era?
first person: Why are ticket prices being raised again?
second person: Because attendance is low.
first person: Why is attendance low?
second person: Because ticket prices are high.
And not to be presumptuous, but when the info came out about a UH Football player being arrested, the first person I thought of was JPD. Sure enough. He is toast, much like Keenan Jones was last year.
Stephen,
you’re no way in any way like me.
and tomorrow, i promise, no lame pictures or dedications.
i don’t know what i was thinking last year…
Jessica Keefe
Jessica Sudduth
i think i have less of a chance with that jessica gomes girl.
Ah Jessica Keefe…
I remember the Volleyball “Aunties” had the GREATEST sign ever in regards to her name:
“KEEFE ‘UM”
BRILLIANT!!!! It had me laughing for days! 😆
chawan_cut, btw… have you done anything with your favorite medium yet?
d1,
no she doesn’t. i can’t write what i want to write.
favorite medium?
i’m actually a L or XL.
roy san,
haha, back in those days they were still playing hut-hut-hut and hadn’t transitionined to ha’ina, ha’ina………went from HELLOOOOO to halauuuuu, haha
all good, we could still beat the Puns only on days that ended with a Y. 😉
chawan_cut… pfffft. You know what I mean… legos…
ST
re:#201
thank you for the kind words about being thin. i remember those days…and then my mother birthed me, but it was nice being thin for those first nine months…….
nope. been busy. sorry, no surprise lego valentines tomorrow…
ST…
Are any pleasant surprises (i.e., any late signees) still expected for Warrior recruiting?
Mahalo!
so bulla you were born thin and bolohead….post pix
Kapakahi:
They’re holding two spots open, but not for anybody in particular.
Does (J)J have any plans with momma mia?
Is it just me, or does anybody else think the case against Bonds is really weak? I mean, unless there’s somebody who actually kept a tainted syringe with Bonds’ DNA, I don’t see how there’s any case.
May god’s peace be with you and your family, brother Curveball.
That should read “God’s peace”… sorry.
I remember Jim Mills. Huge bugga.
Kani Kauahi definitely has the credentials to be UH’s new OL coach! It seems to me that he would be an excellent choice. ST mentions that UH might have a few other candidates…if anyone is chosen over him, then UH will have an awesome coach because it would seem to be hard to be better qualified than Kani!
This writer talked about recruits who are “soft commits”…UH had a few of them earlier this year and those soft commits are always a problem for coaches because they cannot offer the scholarship to another recruit and risk losing out on both if the “soft commit” chooses someone else.
The rest of the article makes some interesting points about the trends in college recruiting.
ESPN wanted to Missouri to move a game to Thursday…in return, they gave Missouri two additional nationally televised games on ESPN! If I was JD, I’d see what UH can get the next time ESPN approaches UH to move a game…or maybe JD should give them a call to see what UH could get if they moved the BSU or Fresno State game up a day?
Nevada will get an additional game on ESPN because Missouri moved their Nebraska game to a Thursday. Great exposure for Nevada, and it would be great for the WAC if Nevada would win!
Interesting statistical study found that special teams success does *not* seem to correspond with team success in the NFL.
curveball,
Thank you for taking the time to respond during this difficult time.
We will wait to hear what arrangements are made.
Prayers continue for you as you seek comfort in remembrance of your beloved.
I posted Curveball’s comments at the top.
Interesting statistical analysis of high school star rankings for recruiting and college players getting invitations to the NFL Combine. For those who don’t want to read the article or the sections I’m posting below, 5-star recruits have slightly less than a 50% chance, 4-star recruits have a 25% chance, 3-star players have a 15.5% chance, and 2-star players have a 5.5% chance of being invited to the Combine.
Interesting that QB and WR are the positions that the scouting services evaluate the worst.
curveball,
Condolences again for your loss. I hope to see you someday to be able to shake your hand and tell you how I admire how you remained positive on the blog and inspired us to send messages of support that you could read to Kristin at the hospital.
8) catching up on blog and adding to the following;
Curveball . . .
It is the island way.
Keep well!!!
Al and pride;
What other football player was a bouncer at the PA. He and I started teaching at Damien. He got the DMHS job because jim rodden (past grad assistant at UH) was pe dept chair. and knew him. he taught spanish.
Ramon Ricardo
What are Angel Flights? for guys…?
Happy Valentines Day, (early) MsLiz & Tsai-kos. 2 for 1 tickets at the basketball game tomorrow night.
Hope JPD gets his life straightened out.
SteveM & midnight,
I could wear my New Orleans Jazz Festival t-shirt … w/ my UH beads.
K, I’m off to go hear Bongo Tribe in Waikiki…
Curveball,
Once again may the grace of god be with you and your family. I have not met you at any of the tsaiko events, but feel that I am connected to you through this blog. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance to you.
Take care and god bless
baseball broadcast-k5
since baseball was talked a lot today
does any one else like the k5 broadcast with jim and pal?
I do. the color, analyst and commentary, tidbits and baseball trivial make
watching really entertaining
in fact when i watch the baseball broadcast i learn a lot
pal’s knowledge is tops, especially when he can tell you the scouting
report of any rainbow and opposing players
i really enjoy watching them
nationally- I like joe morgan of espn
similar to how pal does analyst, both Pal and Joe can critique the players at
bat and can tell the viewers what the player is doing wrong
and usually they, pal and joe, can see a flaw and point it out to the viewers
which i think is educational–not like i’m going to run off to the park and hit a
few…just a appreciation of how some broadcasters make you feel like your
part of the game and I get a sense of feeling youthful again. (i don’t get this feeling watching any other sport)
…and
in my day, never did listen to the coaches-“don’t swing for the fences” …pppfftt.. I would look back at them as I walked to the batters box…and of course I’d take the three hardest swings, wildly, of course
on the topic of the biggest bouncers I’ve ever seen
had to have been the ones that worked a second floor back room above
wo fats down on hotel str.-now they were huge
Whoa, what’s going on with Bolla?
Whatever the reason, it should benefit the Wahine.
hmmm….
Geez…of all times for Twitter to go to “Maintenance” 👿
coach bolla is on indefinte leave, but i hope that it has nothing to do with his health. on leave because he is not doing a good job of coaching is acceptable, but if his health, i wish him the best.
Ok,
Provided it is NOT another health issue for Bolla or anything serious I can say…..
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(if it is I apoligize and take it back)
BUT IF IT’S NOT…. GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO CHARITY (PAT) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it will be interesting to see if mrs bolla is on the sidelines for the next wahine bb game. if she is not, my gut feeling tells me that the chancellor is not very happy about him hiring her, the lack of crowd at the bb games, and his handling of the team.
My condolences to all who have lost loved ones
A speedy recovery to all injured or ailing
This parent gives good advice to parents of high school athletes who are looking for athletic scholarships. I think the whole article is worth a read, but I’ll put a little bit of the article below.
what is more interesting about this is that JD or MKK did not release this, but it came directly from the chancellor’s office, bypassing JD. be interesting to see if this “directive” goes further into the women’s program and administration.
Dallas Bolla is not with the team, according to a spokesman. She’s out recruiting.
Texas is switching their stadium from a grass field to FieldTurf. The cost is relevant to UH because Aloha Stadium’s surface will need to be replaced not too long from now.
The thing that I’m wondering about is (1) the team is on the road, so I wonder if something happened up there; and (2) why the Chancellor’s office, and not the athletic department.
First and foremost, of course, I hope it’s not his health. I’m not a big Bolla fan, but I don’t wish ill health on anyone.
like i said from last year, this chancellor is one tough young lady and is a very strong supporter of anything UH does, academics or athletics. She would be a great replacement for outgoing UH president.
Another article about the FieldTurf chose.
The article says that JD referred comment to Takayama, which means it’s sensitive and he doesn’t want to or is not allowed to talk about it.
Also says that Mrs. Bolla is on a recruiting trip (whatever that means)
If assistant coaches are normally on year-to-year contracts, I wonder if someone would have let Coach Bolla know that a certain assistant that he was married to wouldn’t have her contract renewed? That could cause a chain effect of actions. That is probably just something in my imagination…
Joe Montana’s son will be a *very* high-profile QB recruit from the 2010 class. His first visit is to Ohio State–but doesn’t Pryor have that job locked up for the next 3 years? His next trip is to Texas–Colt McCoy won’t be around after next season. But Texas doesn’t recruit 5-star out-of-state recruits very well…

Remember the A-11 offense that was discussed on this blog during the past season and got so much publicity around the country? Well, it was just declared illegal.

…and for bhf2 and LizK,
HPA and Kapaa in the D2 final
oops just read that Bolla is on paid indefinite leave….no comment from Takayama, no comment for JD, no comment from Bolla, no comment from MMK…what does that mean…..can’t be a health issue like last season….Last year a former player (just graduated) filed charges of harassment against Bolla, alleging he challenged her gender/femininity, I wonder if the investigation is reaching its final stages…
Oh, I finally found a link to the story. Geez, it’s kinda buried among all the other articles:

isn’t it scary that the Nigerian scam involved the hiring of a locksmith to change the lock on a locked townhouse without ever showing any ID (impossible since the guy/gal is in Nigeria) or proof of ownership and there is no law broken by the locksmith.
Maybe Bolla was the guy that was assaulted by JPD.
Na wahine lose again in softball….very discouraging start….hopefully the pitching and hitting comes around before the WAC season….Only the wahine water polo team is holding their own this season…
Ralph, what is your address?
UH is on a bad roll, first JPD, and now Bolla. Bad news usually comes in three, but in this case hopefully there is no more bad news.
UH men volleyball lost.
Congrats to #1 son of D1. Played a good game, but was one goal short. that’s ok, tomorrow play seabury.
whitey – you were joking about d1 right?
Evening Tsai-kos!!
Finally back on after spending the evening w/ my mom while waiting for my daughter, who was running the sound board for the MPI Middle School musical. We tried to go see it but it was sold out. Will try again for tomorrow’s matinee.
Bolla on leave? hmmmm. Let’s see how the team does w/o him.
Homey it’s how JM wrote her comment and D1 passed it on…I had to read it twice, D1 #1 son, can’t be…
I’m glad the Mililani trojans beat Punahou in boys soccer in 2 OTs and PKs….the girls lost to Punahou in the girls semis after 2OT and the shoot out…
D1 said his #1 son, so I am not sure how many #1 sons he has.
jm#### – Wahine lost.
Ralph – the soccer box score does have a name like d1’s son.
maybe D1 is like george foreman where all sons are george
whitey – d1 was joking. #1 son is not in high school.
whitey – #367 – I think d1 was making a joke. I think his #1 son would have to be “born again” to play HS sports. 🙄
Bolla is a choke, 2 times, since we have 2. We need to go in a new direction, and so do they, and hopefully the directions are opposite. I was thinking UH north and the Bollas to hell, but I’d compromise on east and west as long as they don’t meat up again.
thanks for clearing up on D1 #1 son. i did check the soccer boxscore for midpac, but then i remembered that he said that his son was in oregon. so when i saw the post, i wasn’t sure and thought D1 had more than one #1 sons.
WHITEY:
I think so too! Chancellor Hinshaw is one impressive lady and has great sense of public relations which is to her credit.
I would love Dr. Hinshaw as UH President, but she’s doing so much good for UH-Mānoa, I wouldn’t want to give her up. I’m hoping we can get someone good, though. Dr. McClain was a poor selection from the start.
somehow get the feeling that the chancellor reads this blog daily.
ok, 9 more to 90, then late crew comes on and goes over 400.
for those who want to go to portland after August 7th, there is an alternative flight service from Alaska Airlines, portland/kahului. the introductory fare is $169 one way. promo ends in early december.
pretty soon, time to hele on, but want to be the first to wish all of our tsaikos, Happy Valentine’s Day.

KK- I know, terrible yah? I’ll explain next time I see you.
Howzit DPK…Been hearing voices have ya?
You on “curfew duty” again, homish? I remember you doing that before. You must be one strict Daddy…
Howzit Kekoa,
Maybe. I coulda swore I was saying howzit to an excellent young man from Maui who was in the dorms at KS back in the day. I think I scared him off.
got one babooze story I heard today.
man in texas is summoned by judge for mistreating illegal immigrants from mexico. they cut his fences, enter US, steal stuff from his farm and trash his land. this man gathers about 10 guys who capture about 30+ illegals and turn them over to boarder patrol. the immigrants then file a law suit claiming they were unfairly mistreated by the farmer. they are seeking damages for around 10 million $.
the farmer complained before about illegal’s but nothing done.
DPK koakane’s and Homey’s exchange is from the email sent out by koakane. check your email from koakane- patient’s visit to the doctor’s office….
DPK – If I was strict she would’ve been home at 9:00 p.m.
patnah have been thinking about your email.

Happy Valentines Day to all the Tsaikos!!
Time to watch videos…
homey nuff lecturing and back to blogging
my bad need to check my girls room once in a while she sleeping.
checking ice box for some snacking but nada so thinking of going to wendy’s
any oddah suggestions but keep it close to aiea/pc area.
I wish UH men and women had a point guard like shalee lehning of K state…good court vision, handles the ball well, and makes good decision on the dribble drive to find the open shooter…she owns the kansas HS records for most assist, rebounds and steals. what a difference in watching big 12 and SEC wbb- great athletes and bb players…most of the wbb teams play more up tempo than UH mbb
stretch how come you are not wishing happy valentine’s to our tsaikettes
off to find some snacks.
lattas
Ralph – because I am not UHFan808. Everyone here is Tsaikos!! No need say Tsaikos, Tsaikettes, Lurkers and Lurkettes. Only waste time and energy
What kind of videos?
Action? Horror? Thrillers? Suspense? Drama? Westerns?
Romance?

Okay, then. Gotta make sure the daughter is sleeping first.
Time for me go sleep. All you dirty old men can watch videos now without worrying about corrupting me. Good Night.
Happy Valentine’s day to all who are here!
Brought a smile to my face reading your posts about back in the day.
Point After, Hula Hut, Phase 7 band playing at Hawn. Hut. There was The Sting. Bobby McGee’s and Annabelle’s had just opened. Safely say that we lived at the clubs LOL!

Time for me go sleep. All you dirty old men can watch videos now without worrying about corrupting me. Good Night.
Stretch, to late you been to the darkside already.
About the UH athlete, Davis, arrested and suspended
In the other paper’s police beat (police/fire) gives a detailed summary of what happened
about woman’s basketball coach, bolla
I couldn’t find any details if he coached in the Latech game friday
this info would tell a lot
if he coached in that game then a lot of scenarios would play out
if he didn’t coach,
then you can add to the list of reasons why a coach would be on leave
as mentioned it could be for health reason
or it could also be for bereavement
E bolla did not coach or travel with the wbb team to la tech…
Bighilo beeg news regarding E Bolla and you been absent from the scene…wassamatta you…:)
E bolla’s wife is out recruiting so it can’t be bereavement….
it’s after 4 am and big hilo is sleeping…don’t you smell the coffee brewing, aren’t your ears twitching with the news that e bolla is on indefinite leave, are you having your senior moments and just can’t remember to get up like you usually do….
Pomai and florida ted where are you? lots of senior moments today…happy valentines day to all of you seniors, I hope you can remember this day….
from a ruston, La paper
before the latech-hawaii game friday
It will mark the debut of Weatherspoon as interim head coach, a role she was chosen for Monday afternoon after Athletic Director Derek Dooley announced the termination of duties for Chris Long.
apparently the latech coach was fired monday.. the former Latech coaches record this year was 12-11overall and 5-4 in conf.
Lane Kiffin knows better than to mention a recruit by name who his team is actively recruiting. It is hard for me to believe how many of these minor recruiting violations he’s been committing recently! The questioner specifically mentioned that coaches couldn’t talk about individual players and Kiffin mentioned the recruit’s name in his answer!
roysan16,
Why would people need to read a different paper to get the details of what happened with Davis?
http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/20090214/NEWS06/902140321/1001
Great Morning All!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
If these allegations against Davis are true then good riddance and hopefully the young man will have learned a lesson and can adjust his attitude going forward.
Furthermore, hopefully his example and its consequences will serve some good as it is noted by other young men on the team (and in the general population).
Have a great day erryboddy!
HiHo…..
Ralph – Cut bhf2 a break. His ‘puter ran out of letters, plus…he still thinks *Norten* is that actor on The Honeymooneds.
Honeymooners.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
Hugs and kisses . . . uhhhh, man hugs to the guys.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Everyone must be sleeping in to look beautiful for the day, or they are busy expressing their love, or they forgot about Valentine’s Day and are out panic shopping.
HA!

The immediate and most important goals of detoxification start from alcohol, drugs, diet or any other harmful substances is safe detoxification and minimally painful withdrawal symptoms from the substances that you were or are dependent on.
