Delay of game

The Warriors had scheduled a scrimmage today involving scout players and redshirts. But because more than 75 percent of the players said they had finals today, it was decided to cancel practice. The Warriors will have late-afternoon meetings today and tomorrow, and resume practicing Wednesday. At that time, it is hoped, the scrimmage will be played.

UH head coach Greg McMackin said it was more important for the Warriors to focus on academics. The Warriors missed 20 school days because of travel this season. McMackin said the coaches have crafted a game play for the Dec. 24 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, and that the Warriors will be prepared for Tulsa.

* * * * *

From the Tulsa World: “(Wide receiver Trae) Johnson said he doesn’t know much about Hawaii except for the grass skirts.”

Yes, yes. And we don’t know much about Tulsa except for the dust storms.

* * * * *

Anyone else think UH should start selling season tickets next week? It would be right before Christmas, and the Warriors are as popular as they are going to be.

It also would be a good idea if the Hawaii Bowl sold tickets to the banquet. I think fans would like to be part of that.

    Wow, Early!

    Go, Warriors!!!

  2. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:00 am

I like both ideas on tickets. We gotta sell ’em while they’re hot! And, Coach Mack and this year’s team has shown more recognition of their fans. Would be awesome for more fans to have access to those banquet tickets.

  3. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:01 am

All right, Warriors… take care of school so we can all concentrate on Tulsa!!!

  4. Stephen Tsai December 13, 2010 3:02 am

Not sure how good Tulsa is, but it plays fast.

Then again, it probably will be a warm day.

  5. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:03 am

    Oh, by the way…

We had record snowfall for the day yesterday. Don’t know what the main roads look like, but our neighborhood streets are covered with a couple of inches of ice. No schools in the whole Metro Detroit (tri-county) area are open today. Gotta drop off my wife and then drop some salt on this stuff. Gonna be a busy, freezing day outside today.

  6. BigHiloFan2 December 13, 2010 3:04 am

    Good morning Tsaikos everywhere.

wooo hoooo! got up in da nick a time to join da party.

Congrats Warriors. go for the graduation. go fo Tulsa!!!

    Gooo Warriors!!!

  7. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:09 am

Yeah, ST… I heard on a sports show on the radio (while driving) that Tulsa runs a play every ten seconds on average. I noticed that their QB is their top rusher. Their #2 rusher is their WR. If we watch their quick outlet guys, and get some disruptive pressure on their QB… it’ll come down to how our defense does. Our defense has been beastly lately. I think our offense will be on fire.

  8. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:10 am

    My manners…

    Morning, ST. Morning, BHF2!

    Morning to everyone else!

  9. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:23 am

LOL… then Wide Receiver Trae Johnson will get formal introductions to our defense on the field!

  10. BigHiloFan2 December 13, 2010 3:32 am

Trae Johnson… we get some Warriors gonna introduce you to da Aloha turf… plant sum rubba tire balls in your jersey fo take home as souvenir… 👿

  13. Stephen Tsai December 13, 2010 3:41 am

I’m still poring over the stats, but, not including penalties, Tulsa appears to average a play every 24.01 seconds. That’s fast, but not as fast as Charleston Southern.

,blockquote>TU’s paradise will be a win over Hawaii

TU senior running back Charles Clay hopes to finish his Hurricane career with a strong performance in the Hawaii Bowl.

By MIKE BROWN World Sports Writer

    Published: 12/13/2010 2:24 AM

    Last Modified: 12/13/2010 5:35 AM

TYLER HOLMES HAS vacationed in Hawaii, so there’s plenty he can share about the islands with his University of Tulsa teammates.

One thing he won’t encourage them to do is swim with the dolphins.

On a previous visit, the offensive lineman slipped over the side of his tour boat and treaded in the Pacific Ocean to watch a school of dolphins frolick in the surf.

“I don’t know if I would do that again,” he said. “I’m not too keen on getting into the ocean with sharks and stuff.”

TU’s players have many reasons to anticipate a trip that will take them roughly one-seventh of the way around the globe to a tropical paradise. But the main priority is still to win a football game.

“The No. 1 thing I’m looking forward to is a 10-win season,” senior linebacker Tanner Antle said. “I want to do that, and finish in the Top 25.”

TU’s foe in the Dec. 24 Hawaii Bowl is 24th-ranked Hawaii. A win over the Warriors might be enough to give the Hurricane its highest finish in the Associated Press rankings since ending at No. 21 in 1991.

“Obviously, the atmosphere’s gonna be amazing,” quarterback G.J. Kinne said. “You always hear about the beaches. But I’m worried about the game more than anything.”

TU won its final six games to finish the regular season at 9-3. Another win would give the Hurricane a double-digit total for the only eighth time in school history.

The team will practice regularly until next Sunday’s departure.

“It’s not really a vacation, it’s a business trip,” receiver Trae Johnson said. “(Head coach Todd Graham) tells us about that every day.”

Johnson said he doesn’t know much about Hawaii except for the grass skirts. Also, its one of the backdrops for “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” one of Johnson’s favorite television programs.

The trip won’t be all work and no play. The team’s hotel, the Sheraton Waikiki, is a short punt from the famed beach, and bowl organizers sponsor several activities, including a traditional Hawaiian Luau and a visit to nearby Pearl Harbor.

Senior running back Charles Clay hopes to end his Hurricane career on a high note. Clay sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of the final regular-season game against Southern Miss and missed the entire second half.

“Unfortunately, my Senior Day (in Chapman Stadium) didn’t go the way I wanted it to, so I have a chance to come back, and what better place to do it than in Hawaii,” Clay said.

yup, looking forward to giving Tulsa da 5-0 treatment.

    book ’em Warriors! 😀

Hawaii to be all business at bowl this year

Greg McMackin’s football team was absorbed with everything surrounding the Hawaii Bowl in that 2008 football season.

Never mind that the bowl was played just 15 minutes from the Hawaii campus. It began as a pleasurable trip, but ended with a 49-21 loss to Notre Dame.

Hawaii will not fall into that trap again, the third-year Warriors coach promised, when it plays Tulsa in the Dec. 24 Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium.

“We’re going to treat it like another ball game,” McMackin said. “The last time, we treated it as a reward and got beat by Notre Dame.

“This year, we’re going on a business trip to Waikiki.”

Hawaii (10-3) carries steam into the Christmas Eve contest. The No. 24 Warriors have won nine of their past 10 games.

Winning a Western Athletic Conference championship and getting back to the bowl game in its home stadium was a goal of Hawaii’s all season.

The Warriors did that, grabbing co-ownership of the WAC crown with Boise State and Nevada. It also is back in Aloha Stadium for one final time in 2010.

“That was our No. 1 goal, to get back to the Hawaii Bowl,” McMackin said. “We always have the goal to compete for the WAC championship.”

The veteran coach said he saw a football team that would fare well this year eight months ago.

“When we were getting ready (in the spring) I saw that this could be a special team,” McMackin said.

It starts with an outstanding quarterback. Bryant Moniz is No. 1 nationally

in passing (356.1) and total offense (361.9). The junior plays even better at home. His offense is averaging 45 points and 555.7 yards per game at Aloha Stadium.

The former walk-on was buried on the depth chart in 2009 but clawed his way into the starting role.

“He’s worked hard on his arm and he’s in the coaches’ offices all of the time studying film,” McMackin said. “He has a great attitude and a great quarterback mentality.”

Moniz has solid weapons as his disposal. Wide receivers Greg Salas and Kealoha Pilares rank among the nation’s top five for receiving yards.

The Warriors have a young defense, but one that has developed as the season has passed.

Hawaii has allowed an average of only 16.1 points per game during its past nine victories. It is led by linebacker Corey Paredes, who has 140 tackles, and Mana Silva, who has seven interceptions.

“We’re a young team,” McMackin said, “but we’re heading in the right direction.”

Five things you should know about Hawaii

    1. Hawaii accepted a footballonly membership in the Mountain West Conference last week, beginning in the 2012-13 season. Hawaii had been in the WAC since 1979.

    2. Hawaii is one of four non-AQ schools to appear in a BCS bowl game. The Warriors played in the 2008 Sugar Bowl, losing 41-10 to Georgia.

    3. Hawaii changed its nickname from “Rainbow Warriors” to simply “Warriors” in 2001. Other Hawaii athletic teams go by “Rainbow Warriors” or “Rainbow Wahine.”

    4. The university has become a walk-on factory. Current QB Bryant Moniz, currently the nation’s top passer, and Colt Brennan, a ‘07 Heisman finalist, were walk-ons.

    5. The Warriors have a pair of first-year coordinators combining for the second-youngest in college football. Offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich (31) and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda (33) are only behind Toledo’s Paul Nichols (29) and Matt Campbell (30).

Three things you should know about TU’s bowl history

    1. TU was the first college football team to play in five straight New Year’s Day games: Sun Bowl in 1942 (Tulsa 6, Texas Tech 0); Sugar Bowl in 1943 (Tennessee 14, Tulsa 7); Sugar Bowl in 1944 (Georgia Tech 20, Tulsa 18); Orange Bowl in 1945 (Tulsa 26, Georgia Tech 12); and Oil Bowl in 1946 (Georgia 20, Tulsa 6).

    2. Tulsa broke an 11-year bowl drought with its 14-7 win over Ole Miss in the 1964 Bluebonnet Bowl. Jerry Rhome accounted for both touchdowns as the Hurricane capped a 9-2 season under former head coach and Hurricane great Glenn Dobbs.

    3. Tulsa’s 56-point winning margin over Bowling Green in the ‘08 GMAC Bowl (63-7) was the largest in bowl history.

    Aloha Kakahiaka!

Golden hurricane could mean dust storm. We gotta see them coming and not get swallowed up in the hurry up scheme.

    GO WARRIORS!

  43. Kapolei Doc December 13, 2010 5:21 am

I hope the Warriors and their coaches walk the talk about getting prepared to play this game.

This year I’ve seen a couple of Tusla’s games on TV and they should not be taken lightly. To not be prepared could turn into an embarrassment for the Warriors. I’m sure being an 11+ point underdog will provide plenty of motivation for the Golden Hurricane.

During this season I have noticed two common elements missing from the three games we lost. Playing with intensity for four quarters and coaching preparation for the game.

These were also missing in some of the games we won but we were fortunate to come up with a win anyway.

I hope to see the Warriors play like their hair is on fire in this game and the coaches find a solution for this hurry-up offense. Winning in style would give next years team the spark needed for 2011.

    Great Morning All!

Glad to hear that the younger players will get some “Bowl Benefit” this week.

The team will practice regularly until next Sunday’s departure.

With the six that they’ve had over the past two weekends, Tulsa seems to have mapped out efficient use of all 15 extra allowable practices. Good for them.

  47. d1島 December 13, 2010 6:19 am

The planned move to the MWC is seen as a positive move by Hawaii fans and hopefully most will realize that supporting the move means additional $acrifice on our part.

Why not keep the momentum going with a season ticket drive directed at gaining more PSC’s? Maybe encourage new fans to become Premium Seat Holders for the 2011 season and lock in their PSC level for the first year of MWC competition as a reward for jumping in now?

Same offer to existing PSC seat holder. 😉

  49. d1島 December 13, 2010 6:29 am

#13… ST… That report on the radio was about Tulsa running their hurry up offense and averaging 10 seconds from when the ball is placed to snap. I didn’t state that properly. The stats will only show total time of possession. That’s without counting clock stoppages due to penalties, incomplete passes, plays out of bounds, injuries, or even how long from end of the play to when the ball is placed, and the play clock is restarted. Even with these factors, I still got just over 23 seconds per play average.

Tulsa ran 943 plays (263/437 pass and 506 rush) in 12 games. They average 79 offensive snaps per game.

We ran 843 plays (364/562 pass and 281 rush) in 13 games. We average about 65 offensive snaps per game.

They rely on lots of big plays via pass and rush. This 14-play-discrepancy is a couple of extra offensive series in their favor.

    We have 36 takeaways (13Fumbles, 23Int’s), and 20 Turnovers (8Fumbles, 12Int’s).

    They have 30 takeaways (11Fumbles, 19Int’s), and 17 Turnovers (6Fumbles, 11Int’s).

They got blown out at Oklahoma State… but they also won a huge game at Notre Dame.

They also lost to SMU in a shootout (21-18) with no turnovers made… hmmm…

    I need to read more…

  53. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 6:45 am

Wait! There’s ice on the roads, blustery conditions, and the public schools are closed in Detroit? And they moved the Viking game to Detroit? It would be funny to see this game postponed until Tuesday…and moved to Miami.

    Good morning!

Great idea on starting ticket sales early. I had the darndest time trying to find information re: season ticket sales last year. If UH wants to raise ticket prices for next season, give people a break now and let them pay this year’s prices to get them committed early. Let them know you appreciate their support by allowing people to renew or order new season tickets now, say till the end of the year.

Better get ready to go to practice.

I asked if he was serious and he said that he was. We are talking about an Electrical Engineer that was trying to get a job for Motorola. I wasn’t offered the job, but I think he was. Maybe that’s why Motorola tanked not that long after that.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/541907-2010-bowl-schedule-predictions-from-the-view-from-victoria-street#page/8

Tulsa rank fifth in the country in total offense (503.5 yards per game), while Hawaii rank eighth (496.9 yards per game). The Golden Hurricane’s GJ Kinne has passed for 3,307 yards with 28 touchdowns and only 10 picks. Kinne will be the focal point of Hawaii’s defense because, like Nevada’s Colin Kaepernick, he is a dual-threat quarterback, rushing for 557 yards and seven scores. The Hurricane’s receiving trio of Damaris Johnson, Charles Clay and Trae Johnson are Kinne’s favorite targets.

#56 – Bigislandkurt sorry to tell you this but there are many many many people on the mainland who think that we are still in the grass shack days, I know when (2009) I was back in Tri-state area (WV) there where a lot of people who would ask if we had electricity or running water or other basic things. It comes from not seeing the world we live in today. You should have seen the face of a guy when I told him that the population was over a million people here, he wanted to know how we could fit all those people on that little rock. LOL

ST: How were the recruits visits this past weekend? Any good news for the week?

  67. Aaron December 13, 2010 8:09 am

UH should have started taking season ticket pledges from the moment they clinched the WAC title, or maybe even sooner. just set up a booth at the stadium and other popular places (and online) and take $25 non-refundable pledges or something like that with incentives for new season ticket buyers (maybe some kind of na koa tie in as well). easy to execute and gets your foot in the door with a lot of potential new season ticket buyers.

    GOOD MORNING HAWAII!

    BIGISLANDKURT #56.

When my oldest went to school in the East – at one social, a guy from MIT (I think) told her – not knowing that she was from Hawaii – that houses here are built either on poles or stilts so that the lava flow would go under the house and not destroy it.

ST, you do have good ideas today. Hopefully, JD is already on the ball and will make an announcement soon.

    Aaron,

That conversation came about because we went to Fry’s and I told him that I had never seen one before. So he started asking about other stores/restaurants that Hawaii didn’t have.

  79. madeinhawaii December 13, 2010 8:29 am

Why not sell “Warrior Gift Cards”? These could be for any denomination of $10 or more. The certificate may be used for anything UH Athletics related… ie.. Rainbowtique… Individual game tickets (any sport)… Season tickets.. refreshments at the Stan Sheriff or Les Murakami … and at sponsoring merchants (UH Athletic Dept will refund 90 cents on the dollar to these merchants).

The certificates sold this year are good till the end of Dec 2011. The monies are banked and released as necessary to cover redeemed certificates. Unredeemed certificates at the end of 2011 would be considered donations to the athletic department. The monies could also be used like a loan to the Athletic Department at extremely favorable interest rates.

I was on an airplane coming back from Minnesota a couple years back with a Nebraska farmer and his family coming to Hawaii for the first time. He asked me if we feel like we’re Americans. I told him we sure do, we watch Dancing with the Stars and Desperate Housewifes just like on the mainland. I think this was the first time he ever traveled outside the midwest.

    Good Morning Everyone.

Hawaii Bowl will be my bit of warmth on Christmas eve. Tulsa will be toast. 🙂

  82. Old Diver December 13, 2010 8:41 am

I expect our team to be ready. Our first loss was to USC, our second loss was at altitude and was the second game of a long road trip, Cory Paredes told my son they were really tired from being on the road so long, and the third loss was to Boise State. Every team in the nation can say they were unprepared team wise and coaching wise but let’s remember half the teams who play on Saturday will lose. I believe the three game we lost this year happen because the other teams over sixty minutes just played better than us. It happens. I’m hoping the better team wins on Christmas eve and that team is us.

The state Illegal Fireworks Task Force is set to hear from freight shippers about inspection they conduct of cargo from the mainland.

State Sen. Will Espero, co-chair of the panel, says he and other members suspect that much of the illegal fireworks that enter Hawaii do so in cargo containers from the mainland that undergo almost no scrutiny for the materials.

He says about 200,000 containers arrive from the mainland each year.

The panel is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. on Monday at the state Capitol. It will hear from representatives of Matson Navigation and Horizon Lines, the state’s two biggest shippers.

PINEAPPLE DUSTING—Yes Virginia, there is a Hawaii coming to the Big West… well, coming in July 2012. One of the chat room regulars picked President Alexander’s brain during his Saturday waiting for the video visit to Legends. The nuggets included the story that Hawaii is paying $500 a player for airfare for all sports traveling to the islands for a BWC contest. The Prez thinks the Big West will have a higher RPI than the WAC (which may go away soon). And would that send San Jose back to the BWC? Hummm.

    ahouse…i tell you no lie.

listen carefully…tomw may be the start of some good news. as in recruiting (wink, wink).

how do i know? well, i went to the bird feeder in the backyard to refill the seeds and sure enough there was the little birdie. in between the seeds she said this would happen.

the mwc annoucement put us back in the running for a heralded wr type. where once we were lost (out) but now there is new found interest. but, it is still iffy. because we are competing with some huge bcs school(s). however, in our favor is 400+ yard passing per game. we want him as a wr whereas many others want him on the other side of the line. could happen.

    stay tuned.

jeezy…it’s a lean year for local d1 prospects and whether they qualify is still in the air. it seems that we have a good shot at some and no shot at others. but, what’s to stop us from trying.

you are right, the local kids tend to decide late. that is because in season they rarely have a bye week to take offical visits. therefore, they take the trips late.

but, we have chance at a few good ones. and again friday’s announcement goes a long way. i heard that we are in contention for some of the top guys.

Neither is better but one or the other might be better for you. Klipsch in general tends to be a little more efficient and a 3 dB increase in efficiency is equal to doubling the power of your amplifier. The quality of loudspeakers is very subjective so the only way for you to know which will work best for you is to listen to them as extensively as possible. Sometimes first impressions can be wrong so don’t listen only for a moment before deciding. Usually you can have some time at home with these so if you can afford to have both on the credit card at the same time bring both home and then take the least favorable ones back.

  114. Kazz December 13, 2010 11:50 am

    Koakane,

I lisened to what you told me at the tgate after the Idaho game, but I kind of felt that while there was an agreement in principal between UH and the MWC, it was really seemed like a “take it or leave it” deal from the MWC deal to us.

JD’s haunting, but TRUE words of “we couldn’t afford not to do it” tells all.

I agree. We have a lot to offer and the MWC knew it, but it wasn’t life or death for them but it was for us.

We may have been holding 4-of-a-kind, but in the end… house wins.

Pomai, et al — regarding my earlier post on Grass shacks…..

I lived on the continent for nearly 10 years, in three different states. I also had the blessing of traveling to 33 of America’s states. While I did find an occasional instance where someone would ask some crazy question about Hawaii, MOST PEOPLE I HAVE MET get it that we do not live in grass shacks. However, many continue to believe that the Hawaiian Language sounds something like this: Liki liki tiki tiki oooma ooooma.

I’m sure if you go into deeper pockets of americana, you will find those who have not been exposed to the outer world much. Just like Hawaii. There’s still many folks in Hawaii who believe all white people or all black people are the same. I learned on the continent that white people are as diverse (and proud) in their histories and locales as any proud Hawaii person. And no, not all black people speak that way.

Naivete and underexposure to the big world is something that plagues all humans from all places. But that whole grass shack thing is a bit overblown. Mainly by us Hawaii folks.

    BIK

If not, they should have one at least every month to give the redshirts and all the non-starter types a chance to showcase their skills–that will really boost the morale of these players, their families and all of us diehard fans!

  126. Ala Wai December 13, 2010 12:34 pm

Tulsa Golden Hurricanes – 10 things you must do on your trip to Hawai`i.

    1. Immediately go to the beach. Vitamin D is good for you. Do not use sunscreen as it will block your Vitamin D exposure. A minimum 4 hour exposure is recommended.

    2. On your way to the beach stop at the Blowhole. Cross over the barrier and sit on the opening as the waves go in and out. Truly a mind blowing experience.

    3. The best beach to do your Vitamin D collection is Sandy Beach. Famous for its Surf. Body surfing is really good to stretch your limbs. You can practice your head first tumbles in the surf as you show off to the beach babes. This is a must.

    4. Go to Chinatown,Kalihi, or Waianae for a few drinks and to hang out with local folks. You will gain an education in the island culture. Best time is after 11:00pm.

    5. Go to the North Shore for the Shark Experience. While you are in the safety cage dangle pieces of fish for the sharks and try to pet them. They really like this gesture.

    6. Visit Hula’s bar in Waikiki. The natives are very friendly, will buy you drinks and take you on a midnight tour of Oahu. Leave you cell phone in your room as it is viewed as hostile.

    7. Go to Keeaumoku to one of the many hostess bars that love to entertain our friends from the mainland. Offer to buy them drinks as this will be interpreted as a gesture of friendship. Champagne is the beverage of choice.

    8. At the bowl luau make sure you stay hydrated with as much maitai as possible. It is a local energy drink that will make sure you perform your best.

    9. Climb Diamond Head from the Diamond Head Road side. Its a challenging climb but offers the best panoramic view of the ocean and Honolulu.

    10. Go to the Nu`uanu Pali Lookout. It is the historic site of the battle of Oahu. It will be windy but, leap off the edge as the wind will blow you back onto the wall. For a team experience get at least a dozen of your team mates to leap at the same time.

Hope you have a great time in Hawai`i.

    Aloha and Mahalo.

UH should have a plan for the next 10 years to be the next school to attain entrance in the PAC-12. Don’t leave anything to chance and create all the necessary aspects and information over these ensuing years to make a good argument why UH should be chosen over anyother school.

The battle on the field must also be taken care of, off the field.

I know we’re not even in those other conference yet. However need to look and plan ahead.

Tulsa needs to learn the local lingo as well.

    Dear Tulsa players,

In Waikiki, go out and encounter a local. The words “ufa” and “kefe” carry a STRONG positive connotation that usually leads to many hours of laughter and enjoyment by all.

  148. Pride. December 13, 2010 1:56 pm

#146 – Shhhhhhh. Don’t tell D1 that we are only using ten of the allowable fifteen practice sessions.

  149. maui warrior December 13, 2010 1:57 pm

Al-if there is a cattle call here on maui i have to make it, i always miss those, thanks again for feeding da birds……

  150. Pride. December 13, 2010 1:58 pm

#145 – Plenty “kick failed”. How hard is it to kick a ball through the upright? Doesn’t look very hard.

  151. Pride. December 13, 2010 2:00 pm

Yes Al. Thanks for feeding the birds. We fans cannot get enough of Warrior football. Thanks to yours and ST’s birds, it serves to whet our appetites, although only temporarily.

  152. madeinhawaii December 13, 2010 2:01 pm

Maybe leather was harder to kick straight?

  153. d1島 December 13, 2010 2:02 pm

  157. Stretch December 13, 2010 2:16 pm

Anyone going to the Men’s Basketball game against Chicago St this Friday on Maui??

  158. Pomai December 13, 2010 2:22 pm

Ala Wai rather than sending them all the way to Sandy’s just let them go down the road to Queen’s Surf……..

  159. kev-1 December 13, 2010 2:24 pm

why aren’t they practicing that much? I know its finals week, but what about last week? I would hate to look back on this and say, “gee, they should have practiced more. they didn’t look prepared.”

  160. kev-1 December 13, 2010 2:25 pm

not to mention, Tulsa should try the crab that comes out of the Ala Wai. That stuff is better than the ones you get at Alan Wong’s.

  161. LizKauai m/ December 13, 2010 2:31 pm

Giants and Vikes are playing. 0-0

  162. LizKauai m/ December 13, 2010 2:32 pm

    kev-1 –

“UH head coach Greg McMackin said it was more important for the Warriors to focus on academics. The Warriors missed 20 school days because of travel this season. McMackin said the coaches have crafted a game play for the Dec. 24 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, and that the Warriors will be prepared for Tulsa. “

What the heck is this? Are we giving our athletes the wrong idea? Are we telling them that academics is more important than athletics? What is this world coming to? These football players were brought in to play football? Hello????? You want to study and get a degree, do it on your own time. We pay you to play football not study.

  164. d1島 December 13, 2010 2:40 pm

No doubt that the team can get thru game prep in 4 practices; they’ve been doing it most of the year.

It’s the other 10-11 practices that normally are used for extra instruction for the younger players that a lot of the perenially bowl-bound teams make good us of that are key.

But what do I know? I just go Tell Ma.

  165. d1島 December 13, 2010 2:43 pm

…I mean, it’s not like the HC doesn’t have the fore$ight to $ee beyond the next two $eason$, right?

  166. Scout Member December 13, 2010 2:47 pm

I’m pissed. I just missed seven opportunities to get myself on film for evaluation by the coaches.

  167. d1島 December 13, 2010 2:48 pm

    They seen you already.

  171. BG December 13, 2010 3:09 pm

    Hi everyone!

So…Has Coach Mack called his friend JJ to find out how they beat Tulsa? Hmmm

  172. Ala Wai December 13, 2010 3:09 pm

You guyz! Don’t spoil the party. I invited the Tulsa team to my place on the banks of the Ala Wai for a crabfest and fishfry. Nothing like the blue crab, giant mantis shrimp and tilapia fillets.

  173. Ala Wai December 13, 2010 3:10 pm

Is the Giants and Vikes on TV?

  174. kawika49 December 13, 2010 3:12 pm

Must have been a SHORT phone conversation.

    JJ: Yup.

    Coach Mack: hey june.

    JJ: Yeah.

Coach Mack: just checking in and seeing as how you guys beat Tulsa….

    JJ: Mmmm hmmm.

    Coach Mack: any pointers?

    JJ: Play like you belong.

    Coach Mack: son of a…

    JJ: (dial tone)

  176. madeinhawaii December 13, 2010 3:18 pm

    Ala Wai…

Whoah… don’t tell me you plan to serve them that once in a lifetime Waikiki delicacy — Tilapia Sushi?

  177. Ok2VA December 13, 2010 3:19 pm

Don’t take the “grass skirts” comment too seriously, Warrior fans. Trae did say he was taking the trip seriously. Grass skirts ARE more common in Hawaii than tumbleweeds and dust storms in Tulsa. I lived in Tulsa for 22 years and never saw either one. It does get a little breezy there in the spring. OkCity? Now there you can find ’em.

  178. kawika49 December 13, 2010 3:19 pm

  182. Ala Wai December 13, 2010 3:23 pm

    Mahalo Kawika for the link.

I think the Tulsa team would appreciate a Tsaiko Potluck. Most Aloha Spirit in Hawai`i.

  183. Ala Wai December 13, 2010 3:26 pm

What would you bring to the Tulsa potluck?

  184. Committed Road Warrior December 13, 2010 3:27 pm

Having read about the Big 10’s naming for their 6-team divisions, I can’t keep a straight face. Don’t know whether to laugh at them…or laugh at them.

  185. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:34 pm

Just got home from a harrowing drive from picking up my wife from work. All roads are ice skating rinks. People are sliding around all over the place, 4×4’s and all. I wonder if there are any fans at Ford Field?

Oh, looking forward to a new Hawaii Five-0 tonight to warm us up.

  186. hawaiiansun December 13, 2010 3:36 pm

need to start scheduling a 13th game for 2011, since Broncs will be vacating WAC, leaving the warriors with 12… FSU just added CAl and SDSU next year– as the MWC teams will be one game short too….would be nice to schedule BSU…according to their 2011 schedule, they will be short a game or two.

  187. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 3:37 pm

Warriors, just take care of your school work! Do your best with your finals. Then you can put all focus on the bowl game.

  188. HawaiiMongoose December 13, 2010 3:43 pm

Ala Wai, hilarious list. Mahalo for giving me something to laugh about this afternoon.

  189. papajoe2 December 13, 2010 3:44 pm

#137 nae. A long time ago when I used to work as a beachboy in Waikiki, We noticed teams like Southern Cal, etc. enjoying the beach. We would play great hosts and let them have a good time. They would get sunburned and fatigued, so we would take the points and bet against them. Now days, all the coaches would have the beach and sun, off limits to the team and treat it like a business trip.

  190. wafan December 13, 2010 3:44 pm

Yes, they should have already started selling tickets for next season.

    But, they did not.

They should be selling them now.

    But, they are not.

Realistic and timely marketing plans should always be on hand depending on the situation.

    But, who are we kidding?

  191. Committed Road Warrior December 13, 2010 3:46 pm

    #186:

BYU is filling in for Boise next year. UH schedule for 2011 is full with 7 WAC games and 6 non-conference (Colorado, @Washington, @UNLV, UC Davis, Tulane, BYU).

  192. josh December 13, 2010 3:52 pm

Last two bowl games UH has laid an egg, I hope they are prepared this time!!!

  193. kev-1 December 13, 2010 3:57 pm

geez . . . I wasn’t suggesting the Warriors blow off school. I was just wondering why the few practices.

  194. madeinhawaii December 13, 2010 4:01 pm

It’s really kind of sad that the athletic programs can’t afford to keep their athletes here for one more day after each game. I mean, a little Hawaiian hospitality and cultural experience is an educational treat. Aren’t they here to further their education. You’d think with the subsidies that Hawaii is now paying, they’d spend a day after the game to R&R and make Hawaii a special treat. … Should have put that in the negotiations, eh? Then we’d get back some of the subsidies in monies spent locally…

  195. SteveM December 13, 2010 4:04 pm

Committed Road Warrior — are you still planning to arrive in HNL on December 24 in time for the Hawaii Bowl?

…anyone else and I would be dubious–but you have a tremendous track record for crossing the country, attending the game, and leaving that night. Hopefully you are still staying for the holidays…?

  196. kawika49 December 13, 2010 4:08 pm

193…i BELIEVE THEY HAD UN-OFFICIAL CONDITIONING THIS PAST WEEEK.

  197. SteveM December 13, 2010 4:09 pm

My last scheduled day of work for the rest of the year was today. That’s good and bad news, but I wish I could have attended the Quarterback club luncheon. Would have liked to hear ST give a prepared speech. It was prepared, wasn’t it. 🙂

  198. RedZone December 13, 2010 4:09 pm

wow the last storm knocked me off the internet. I get back and now we are going to the MWC and BWC and saying bye to the WAC. i miss so much when I can’t check in here. It does sound like the move will cost UH a lot more to operate and they still don’t know what it will cost. kinda like buying something sight unseen.

Anyway as I have said before Tulsa is about speed and misdirection. The warriors will have to be quick in making their mental decisions. I expect UH to be stout on the inside with the DTs we got but the DEs and Lbs will have to play smart. Tulsa is not a power running team so they will use motion to try to outman UH at the point of attack. If you over react I see them coming back with counters and reverses.

Special teams play will be very important. Tulsa has loaded up on one side of their line while trying to block kick attempts. UH will need to pick up on this and adjust because it leaves the other side of the snapper with only one defender. With our holder who is an experienced quarterback running a run pass option to that side would result in a score.

Lastly I don’t think we should underestimate Tulsa’s corners.

  199. d1島 December 13, 2010 4:16 pm

Hmmm…where have we seen THAT before?

  200. Pomai December 13, 2010 4:17 pm

RedZone I don’t think we should underestimate Tulsa period, we need to bring our “A” game and nothing less. This is a very important game for us. This win will take us into the next season ranked, which is very important, I want to see us going into the MWC with 17 game winning streak.

  201. hawaiiansun December 13, 2010 4:17 pm

@CRW, dnk that, mahalo. great schedule…

    jj….Hey Mac…doing ok.. i guess.

Coach Mac…Hey jj..wanted to pick you brain on this…we got Tulsa coming up and I just wanted to ask how ya all did and some tips you might have for us over here.

jj…Well …yah..we did ok against them…uh…best thing is just score more points that them…

    Coach Mac…Darn…should have known…

  203. Pomai December 13, 2010 4:20 pm

Was just thinking, will Benson try to mess us up with next seasons scheduling sort of a last shot at us?

Back from Hanauma Bay & off to a garden meeting.

Walked to UH this morning, and our fearless leader was already there! Some of the guys were still practicing on their own. Way to go, guys!

One freshman standing there complaining to the team assistants. Not the way to go…

    Esme & off to a meeting… laters.

  209. hawaiiansun December 13, 2010 4:50 pm

Tulsa is a dangerous offensive team that creates problems on the ground and air.

beat ND at South Bend and two of three defeats were very close.

Nine practice days for the warriors navigated through finals?

    Week layover?

    12-point spread?

    ….bet on the under (70).

  210. RedZone December 13, 2010 4:54 pm

I was really impressed how stout Tulsa is inside against the run. Their nose is a converted DE but they have good sized lbs who can run and hit hard. They sometimes lead with their helmets which bothers me a lot.

  211. Kazz December 13, 2010 4:57 pm

If Benson were vengeful, he’d screw with Fresno and Nevada’s schedule before ours.

Besides, if Benson screwed with our WAC schedule next season, how would we be able to tell?

  212. kawika49 December 13, 2010 5:00 pm

A plan for a FBS Playoff

If you’re a major college football fan, you had to be content watching the annual Army-Navy game and seeing the Midshipmen win for the ninth straight year. Otherwise there wasn’t much in the way of sports to watch on Saturday.

But what if you had had the chance to watch the NCAA football quarterfinals from Phoenix or New Orleans Saturday afternoon, after watching two other quarterfinals the night before? That’s what we football fans should be doing in mid-December, instead of waiting a month between games while our interest fades.

  220. madeinhawaii December 13, 2010 5:09 pm

No worries.. Rust should protect and preserve our men of steel! … Just like the Aloha Stadium…

  221. hawaiiansun December 13, 2010 5:15 pm

@pomai, exactly my thinking….tulsa has laid down a tough practice schedule and hasnt missed a beat. Im not concerned with our assests vs tulsa as much as i am with our preparation and game day timing….Moniz needs to start-off fast and accurately.

  224. wafan December 13, 2010 5:26 pm

I wonder if some marketing would better enhance the taste-testing by the young men of Tulsa.

Enjoy a light and flaky fish fillet as fresh as you can ever want, just minutes from your beautiful surroundings at one of the plush Sheraton Hawa’i hotels, direct from the Ala Wai. What is this delicacy? The very same cut you might experience at many 4 and 5 Star restaurants throughout the United States!

Come. Hook your own fish for that once in a lifetime experience and have our expert chefs prepare your meal right at the water’s edge. Your chefs can be identified by the grass skirts and slimming black shirts with the Tsai-ko company name either on the back or the front of the shirt. Each chef will be will be more than willing to regale you with tales of the islands, and provide you with an ancient blessing ensuring an exciting visit to these ancient lands.

E komo mai! Welcome to Hawai’i.

    Aloha!!!

  225. Kazz December 13, 2010 5:31 pm

ESPN Bowl Mania app says Tulsa has the #119th best pass defense in all the land.

    WOW! 😆

Now, will we be able to get our offense on the field to take advantage of this?

That’s right… many people will be calling the WARRIOR DEFENSE “out” on this one. Conditioning, stamina, mental cues, and communication are “musts”!!!!

  226. Kazz December 13, 2010 5:34 pm

Finally watched the FULL UH press conference from Friday and I like how Howard Carr challenged all our coaches to rise to the occasion with this new future laid out for us.

We got here because of our on the field/court successes and we must not waiver.

Jim Donovan’s job continues, as it should be. He “righted” the ship for the future and there shall be no “deferred maintenance” issues here.

Donovan shall cut all loose ends if necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  227. Kazz December 13, 2010 5:35 pm

Kinda hard to talk about actual sports again…

Wait, who are we playing in the Hawaii Bowl??? 😆 😉

  228. Ok2VA December 13, 2010 5:45 pm

@NorthShoreFan: Think we can bring some cow pies?…I doubt if they will be allowed in the islands, though. One of those food and plant restrictions at your airport customs. I hear Tulsa players chew on ’em like jerkey and give opponents a face full at the bottom of the pile….

  229. Major question for the T-Gate prior to the Sheraton Hawai`i Bowl.

DrDoc and I would love to make right on the spot malassadas to order, but we need to know how many people would want to have them. Once we open up the container – the dough is made by Agnes’ Portugues Bakery – it has to be used up within the hour so we cannot take home any leftover dough because it has “died.”

Yes, we can make all of them within half an hour or so, but if they don’t get eaten right away, they won’t taste really great. Malassadas are meant to be eaten within minutes of being made.

So is there any interest here – we need to have about 50 orders – assuming that each person eats three pieces.

Will ask this question several more times over the next week or so.

Remember to save your HI-5 cans & bottle from Christmas parties – we’ll be sending in a cashier’s check for $200 on behalf of the T-saikos after the first of the year.

Anyone have daytime tickets for the Diamond Head Classic on December 22 & 23? Friends of ours coming to town would like to attend all four games each day and are going to buy evening tickets.

Stretch – I am trying to come up with a reason to go to Maui on Friday, but so far, nothing seems to be coming to life. Hope you can be there cheering for the rest of us.

Finally, be sure to visit the Island Innovation Fund site – click on my name to go to the main page – and scroll through the 185 proposals – including ours. Your comments are most muchly welcomed.

Ok2VA- welcome to the Warrior Beat!

    Are you coming fornthe game?

Cow pie…just gotta watch out for the fresh ones… The dry ones ain’t bad. 😆

  233. Kazz December 13, 2010 6:03 pm

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this Hawaii Bowl is going to be the MOST meaningful one in a while… maybe ever.

    -We’re nationally ranked again.

    -We’re 2010 WAC Champs.

-***OUR SUCCESS VALIDATES OUR INVITE INTO THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE.***

For those that haven’t read other message boards, but oodles and oodles of other MWC fans and WAC fans have been singing the praises of UH Warrior Football over the past three months. Fans from other MWC programs have been calling UH football a “quality” program when referencing our value to the MWC.

The stage is set. A nationally televised bowl game. THE ONLY BOWL GAME ON DECEMBER 24TH!!!

Who wants to choke? Who’s the Warrior that is not going to be playing for his brothers in GREEN??? Who are the coaches that will take responsibility for failure?

    The answer should be “NONE”.

Too much to loose. Too many times we’ve had the pundits of college football dish out some crumbs of respect only for US to step on it and erase any kind of promise.

Coach Mack said we’d kick Notre Dame’s okoles. Well, quite frankly he LIED. I haven’t said this publically in over two years, but damnit, he lied. I FELT LIED TO. I don’t care that it was Jimmy effin Clausen we lost to or Michael effin Floyd. WE GOT OUR OKOLES KICKED BY A MEDIOCRE 6-6 TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

    UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Now is the chance. I feel like something bigger than all of us has been looking out for this team and for this entire athletic department over the past 12 months.

The resurrection of Warrior volleyball, the national emergence of Rainbow Wahine softball, the return of a WAC title to Rainbow Baseball, the glory of the gold captured by Amber Kaufman, and the roaring defiance of Warrior football that refused to finish without a WAC title all in one year! The one freakin year were we questioned and feared for our existence in NCAA Division I athletics. THE ONE YEAR we experienced top to bottom success only to flirt with the possibility of it becoming another memento to place in a time capsule that could have been buried with memories of what UH athletics “USED” to be.

No matter the assurances of “done deals”, there were instances were our future could have been non-existent. This is fact. There was a time were no matter what our student-athletes did and what the coaches accomplished, the mainland would look with a glance and go on their merry way.

Now we have the attention of people. We survived conference realignment for the foreseeable future and we STILL must prove ourselves.

Let the haters hate, but we no longer can afford to keep giving them reasons.

  234. Michigan Warrior December 13, 2010 6:05 pm

Wow! All I can say is tonight’s Hawaii Five-0 blew me away, beginning to end! Hope you guys like it too!

I said earlier that all the roads here are covered in ice. One county northwest of us is under a blizzard warning… I’ve only seen that once before since we got here back in ’96. Don’t know why cities didn’t drop salt on the roads. We did on our driveway and sidewalks, and it worked fine. At least the kids have another snow day tomorrow, with the negative temps and strong winds moving into the area overnight.

Going to sleep early. Shoveling snow and ice beat me up today. See you all tomorrow, Gang!

Can’t wait for Christmas Eve to get here!

Go, Warriors! Take care of business!

    Elizabeth,

You can join the Tulsa Golden Warriors as the blog’s own “Ala Wai” takes them out to parts unknown in search of Stitch.

  240. Kazz December 13, 2010 6:28 pm

Wait… Michael Floyd. Michael Floyd? Was that his name? That Notre Dame receiver?

    Eh, who cares.

I’ve had people make fun of me for not being able to name the starting TE for the Dolphins. but yet these same people can’t even name one of the starting offensive linemen for UH.

    What a joke!

UH is Hawaii’s team and I could care less what some mainland pro team does or who is on it.

    PRIORITIES PEOPLE!!! PRIORITIES!!!!!!!!!!

Worldly knowledge is impressive, but it’s embarassing when one cannot even locate their own backyard!

  247. Kazz December 13, 2010 6:44 pm

UH athletics should have a new motto amongst the fans.

“Believe” is in the past. It was cute.

“TAKE IT” is what we need to adopt. Taking things for yourself is how to get —- done! Das right son! TAKE YOUR RESPECT!!! TAKE YOUR VICTORIES!!!!!!!

We want respect? We want victories? TAKE IT!!! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!

Aloha, mele, mo’olelo is nice and it is what Hawaii represents, but cannot be too nice. On the field and on the courts of competition is where champions are crowned and where respect is earned through fear.

The opponent fears you, they respect you. You have just TAKEN their respect by force!!!

We cannot lose our values that makes Hawaii what it is. BUT we must be stronger and more forceful.

Give our visitors a lei, but then rip it off once we vanquish them! 😆

Next on the agenda is to re-word this “one snap and clear” stuff, but that can wait.

  248. Homegrown December 13, 2010 6:44 pm

  254. Derek December 13, 2010 8:32 pm

Mack Brown the highest paid college football coach, but his team didn’t even make it to a bowl game this year. I would say he was very overpaid. On the other hand, Chris Ault seems to be a bargain since he’s one of the lowest paid head coaches. Ault must be steaming!

  255. jm2375 December 13, 2010 8:50 pm

mih – #252 – since when is Texas in the Pac-10? 😆 The list has many typos, not sure I trust it.

  256. josh December 13, 2010 9:07 pm

I saw in another blog that Ellis Henderson plans on playing football and BASEBALL at UH. Any truth to this? I am sure Coach Trap would love someone with Henderson’s speed on the bases.

I agree with you Kazz that this Hawaii Bowl is just not window dressing at the end of a successful season. It is important. On another subject I think the game against Army was the most important win of the regular season. Anybody else have a game that sticks in your mind as a defining point in the season?

  264. BigHiloFan2 December 13, 2010 9:24 pm

The Boise game exposed our coaches to the need of them working on their coaching, and ourcon our players’ ditioning.

dats okay. gotta give chances to the young coaches. they’re learners of the game.

  276. LizKauai -iPad December 13, 2010 10:07 pm

Great 5-0. Congrats, Nalani and Na Leo!

  277. Curt December 13, 2010 10:14 pm

Just saw tonight’s “Hawaii 5-0.” That was only shot a couple weeks ago just outside our office near ST’s old stomping grounds, the old Advertiser building. That’s a quick turnaround. I don’t think “Lost” turned it around that fast.

  278. Curt December 13, 2010 10:18 pm

I can “brag” that Grace Park (Kono) noticed me during the shoot. Unfortunately, she wanted me out of her line of sight while she was delivering her lines. Ha-ha.

  279. BigHiloFan2 December 13, 2010 10:19 pm

hats off to Kathy Hashimoto. really inspirational. if she can, we can.

    al,

We’re anxiously awaiting any recruiting announcements tomorrow. Hopefully, we can land some of the top guns in this year’s class. We have a team that can compete with the big boys and we’re looking for few good warriors.

  282. d1島 December 13, 2010 10:26 pm

What she said, “Eh brah, no cut my line!”

  283. BigHiloFan2 December 13, 2010 10:30 pm

  285. Curt December 13, 2010 10:36 pm

    d1,

I didn’t know I was so distracting. Maybe I still got it…in my dreams.

Incidentally, it was the scene where she was guarding the manhole cover while McGarret was down below retrieving $10 million. It must be where ST stashed his loot from his days with the Advertiser.

  286. d1島 December 13, 2010 10:38 pm

  289. Curt December 13, 2010 10:44 pm

    Ok2Va…

@NorthShoreFan: Think we can bring some cow pies?…I doubt if they will be allowed in the islands, though. One of those food and plant restrictions at your airport customs. I hear Tulsa players chew on ’em like jerkey and give opponents a face full at the bottom of the pile….

Let me know. one of my buds work the ramps…can get it in for you if you want to bring some in. Make like we importing “charcoal” for the T-gate.

If you coming to the game, stop by the t-gate..we can introduce you to some real fuud.

Lots of Warrior fan-a-tics and guud fuud.

BigHiloFan2… no need wait for xmas eve…fireworks already going off over here…just had one shake my house…so much for tough talk about cracking down on illegal importation. If the legislature wanted to put some teeth into the laws, just make it a felony and use da explosive sniffing dogs to sniff the containers. Anyone caught, gets blown up together with the container.

Sorry… just getting pissed that my dog go nutz and my house get shaken so much…and it ain’t even xmas yet…

    hehe . . . juuuuuuust kidding

  314. Ok2VA December 14, 2010 1:17 am

Hey NorthShore, D1 and BigHiloFn: . Yes, I am in the east in Virginia, grew inTulsa watching Hurricane Football. Always a fan. This will be a tough one for TU, though. It’s good for non-AQ football to see this matchup. I was hoping for a return trip to the islands for this game, but can’t this year. But you will see a classy bunch coming to Aloha. They don’t get too awed by the surroundings. One thing about it, hoping they come out of there with some sort of confidence to carry them over for next year. Tulsa loses a total of 3 starters on both sides of the ball for next year, and many of them are freshmen and sophs this year. You will see a matchup of two fast and athletic teams on Christmas Eve…Man…wish I was there. Even what though ESPN calls it the most likely win for Hawaii of all the bowl games, I still believe it has the potential to be the most entertaining game of all the bowl games. Congrats on a great year Warrriors. Go TU. Since Gary Busey is from Tulsa, surely he is pulling for the ‘Canes!

The whole point of [logo] style isn’t to show off??? what you may do. It is not about bells and wh istles. It is that sort of pondering which has lots of present-day designers applying gradients on every style aspect as if they had a little something to accomplish with v isual communication. The lion drawing does notneed anymore pol ishing. From the place I stand, It’s at a level the place it might ONLY be put to use or d iscarded. In the event you think it wants extra pol ishing ,that it really is too cartoony??? , or that you have styl istic objections with the option, then maybe you??? re inside the unsuitable profession. You??? re complaining about a little something pretty essential to contemporary graphic style. I have study from many of the greats around the subject of layout and I do consider I have a cope with around the topic. It’s not your handle, I have an understanding of that. What I do notunderstand is your style philosophy. It is well known which you think Nike and Shell are good manufacturers. Count me as yet another individual surpr ised that you just did notinclude pepsi to the ??worst??? l ist and even acknowledge their redesign.Other distinct comments. The brand new Pfizer logo looks sloppy and careless to me. The blue clearspace approximately the wordmark is uneven. I such as the notion, however the execution is bad. The outdated one is tighter.I do notunderstand what you like far better about the new Guitar Hero logo. The damaging area among the letters can make it nearly difficult to go through for me.As for El Banco Deuno, I do notget it at all. The line breaks seem absolutely jarring to me and remind me of a logo I did for my s ister is line of crafts when I was about 15 (it was the word pollywogs??? on two lines, using a hyphen?- ugh).Last but not least, I would adore to find out your l ist of Identities that are in desperate want of a redesign. My #1 pick would be Verizon.

The entire stage of [logo] design just isn’t to show off??? what you can do. It is not about bells and wh istles. It is that sort of considering which has a great deal of current designers applying gradients on each and every style ingredient as if they’d something to accomplish with v isual communication. The lion drawing does notneed any longer pol ishing. From in which I stand, It is at a stage exactly where it could possibly ONLY be applied or d iscarded. Should you suppose it requirements far more pol ishing ,that it truly is too cartoony??? , or that you’ve got styl istic objections together with the option, then maybe you??? re within the wrong occupation. You??? re complaining about a little something quite elementary to modern-day graphic design. I’ve read from several of the greats on the topic of design and I do imagine I have a manage to the subject. It is not your manage, I realize that. What I do notunderstand is your layout philosophy. It can be well-known that you just consider Nike and Shell are great brands. Maybe you??? re an International Fashion zealot who thinks a grid is a reply to every layout trouble. Maybe that is what you meant by pol ished? Or maybe you??? re into a lot of pointless detail on the logo that may become no ise since it is shrunken down? I do notknow. My grammar is often fine, thank you for asking. It is my spelling that was off in numerous locations and for that, I apologize, but, you realize, if my grammar was anyplace close to as horrible as you claim then you??? d have had a very difficult time comprehending what I wrote.
