Aiea’s Sale commits to UH; Fullerton hires Donovan

The Hawaii football team has secured a commitment from one of the state’s top high school football players.

Aiea’s Ualesi “Wesley” Sale told the Warrior Beat he has accepted a UH scholarship offer and will join the Warriors in 2013.

Sale, who is 6-2 and 230 pounds, recently completed a recruiting trip to San Diego State.

He said a desire to play in front of family and friends was a key factor. Credit his girlfriend, who said UH would be his best fit.

Sale’s highlight video: Sale video.

So far, the Warriors have secured commitments from three of their top targets. The others were offensive lineman John Waa of Kahuku High and Kennedy Tulimasealii of Waianae High.

Jim Donovan has been named athletic director at Cal State Fullerton.

  5. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 12, 2012 10:22 pm

Anyone think this may end up being one of the best recruiting classes we have had in a long while?

  6. Stephen Tsai December 12, 2012 10:23 pm

Who knows what will happen in a few years. But this is a big-time get.

    Welcome Mr. Sale.

    HUGE!!

  9. jeezy33 December 12, 2012 10:30 pm

Sale and Manoa look like solid pass rushers for future…. Now if we can get another big boy inside and Reeve Koehler.

  10. WarriorMojo December 12, 2012 10:30 pm

Who WANTS to be a WARRIOR!?!?

    Yes, welcome, welcome, Mr. Sale.

  11. dannyp December 12, 2012 10:30 pm

UNBELIEVABLE!! Dakota Turner was trying his best to sway him…Are pass rush is gonna be amazing!!

  12. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 12, 2012 10:31 pm

According to Rivals, Sale has turned down offers from San Diego State, Utah, and Kansas.

  13. sean December 12, 2012 10:31 pm

The second season has started, let’s see how all this plays out in February. Welcome Mr. Sale, Mr. Wa’a, and Mr. Tulimaseali’i. Thank you for your commitment.

    Stay tuned, more to follow!

    Go Warriors!!

    Please forgive me, Mr. Falemalu!

    Welcome, welcome, welcome!

  16. jeezy33 December 12, 2012 10:45 pm

3 top 5 players in my book…. Might be 1st time ever that I can remember.

    1. Kennedy Tulimasealii

    2. Reeve Koehler

    3. Isaac Savaiinaea

    4. Ualesi Sale

    5. John Waa

    6. Titus Failauga

    7. Kamalei Correa

    8. Colton Goeas

    9. Scott Pagano

    10. Shaun Kagawa

Too hard grading out skilled positions in my opinion. Tabuyo has talent but unpolished. Kawe is gamer but very undersized. Wily could be good but hard to grade local RBs.

  17. al December 12, 2012 10:51 pm

    nice.

  18. WarriorMojo December 12, 2012 10:53 pm

jeezy, of that list. who is still undecided? Is it just Reeve and Titus? Is Goeas still firm on Tennessee?

  19. al December 12, 2012 10:53 pm

jeezy…could be 4 of 5. its that close.

of your top ten only three have said “no”

  20. SteveM December 12, 2012 10:54 pm

Things are looking good in the recruiting phase!

…was gonna say “recruiting front”, but that could be a pun. πŸ™‚

  21. al December 12, 2012 10:55 pm

wmojo…#7, 8, 9, have been emphatic in their refusal of a home career. the others have either committed or haven’t said “no”.

so there is a chance we could be 7 of 10.

  22. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 12, 2012 10:57 pm

    al,

you think have shot with Titus?

  23. cheepono December 12, 2012 11:08 pm

Holy crap! I know we’re still a long way from LOI day but it’s impossible not to be absolutely stoked at how recruiting is going right now! #gowarriors

  24. jeezy33 December 12, 2012 11:13 pm

    18. Pretty sure Koehler, Failauga, Kagawa, and Goeas undecided. I don’t know what the latest with Goeas is but I don’t think hes a lock on Tennessee. Kagawa is prob top athlete in state over Ewaliko.

Kailua DT supposedly getting recruited kind of hard too. Taleni.

Pretty exciting overall Local class though. Still doesn’t mean much if we cannot secure some stud athletes in the mainland. Really only impressed with Blinn JC WR so far out of the JC guys. I like the LBs videos but size wise look like Daily Lyles and Don’t know how much of an upgrade that would be.

  25. dannyp December 12, 2012 11:27 pm

lol i played baseball with Shaun Kagawa growing up.He was the new kid. Being one of the fastest on the team i raced him. I have never been torched so bad in my life. Dude is a Freak. Hope we get him.

  26. Stephen Tsai December 12, 2012 11:33 pm

I think Titus is becoming more of a long shot.

UH needs to get Jm2375 involved. She has ties.

  27. PowderPuff December 12, 2012 11:33 pm

How exciting….woooo hoooo! Go Coaches!!! πŸ™‚

  28. Stephen Tsai December 12, 2012 11:34 pm

I might be wrong, but I don’t think UH went hard after Pagano. Seemed like they weren’t as high on him.

  29. WarriorMojo December 12, 2012 11:38 pm

al, for some reason I thought Savaiinaea was a “no.” Awesome if still get chance.

Too bad about Goeas and Correa, Both have strong UH family ties.

  30. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 12, 2012 11:41 pm

    Titus,

Come on…From one Pueo to another…Stay. No need learn new school colors. Green and White all the way.

  31. Stephen Tsai December 12, 2012 11:43 pm

Wily will commit, but I think he’s going on a mission first.

You will love your new colors . . . oh, wait.

    Whoo-hoo!!!

  36. azwarrior22 December 13, 2012 3:37 am

This is great news…keep it rolling both on local and mainland recruiting. I still don’t get why Correa and Goeas would consider mainland schools with their family histories at Hawaii. I believe Leo was even pitching donors for Norm before the start of the season, but son Colton says he wants to go away anyways. Hmmmphh.

  37. maddog50 December 13, 2012 3:41 am

This is more great news and will start to have a domino effect. Anybody doubting the direction of this program just needs to take a look at what is taking place. This team will be completely made over from attitude, ability, size and strength. There is a solid young core and some veterans that just need more talent next to them and behund them for a total team. I have and always had faith in the current staff….Congrats to the new young Warrior and as always—-GO WARRIORS—-

Sale is a great get! Real good get-off quickness!

Sale could be a perfect hybrid DE for Warriors in TK’s defensive alignments and schemes.

With Paipai gone after this season…..and Jordan Pu’u-Robinson moving to TE next season…..and former signee & potential JC transfer Quenton Brown’s status still uncertain, that depth at the hybrid DE spot is looking a little thin next season.

While Tepa and Woodard look to be frontrunners at the hybrid DE rotation next season, JMHO that Sale might still be in the mix of the competition.

  50. tommui December 13, 2012 6:04 am

    GOOD MORNING HAWAII!

And a warm welcome to Mr. Sale!

  51. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:07 am

While very few top local HS prospects attended the home games late in the season, Savaiinaea was among the regular attendees on the field before the earlier home games.

  54. Diogenes Sinope December 13, 2012 6:11 am

    Footnote to history:

If we look at the history of recruiting in our backyard of “player of the year” who went to mainland schools, who has really heard of them after they have returned home to the islands after a couple of years?

    STAY HOME GUYS!

  55. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:16 am

    #36,

Heard that Kamalei’s oldest brother (not La’anui) had some influence in the decision….

While he projects at LB at the next level, Dooley’s firing from Tennessee might’ve messed things up for Colton since he’s got almost no game film from this past senior season playing LB (where he played exclusively his junior season)…..since the Crusaders played him almost exclusively at DL (both DT and DE) this whole past season.

  57. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:25 am

    #16 & #24,

Based on actual game production, JMHO that Taleni might have moved into the Top 10 for recruiting prospects……past either Correa and/or Goeas.

JMHO that both Correa and Goeas….and the Crusader defense in general…..just didn’t have standout performances against their top competition (Farrington, Bishop Gorman, Kamehameha, Punahou, and even Iolani) this past season.

  58. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:29 am

    #31,

Now that LDS missions can start at age 18…..instead of 19 like before, heard that’s the plan….like Lavaka & Ursua…..and maybe Zwahlen too.

BTW, any update on former Red Raider LB Ben Mamea?

  59. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:33 am

    #49,

Hopefully Sale can develop into another great #42…..like Paipai.

  61. jeezy33 December 13, 2012 6:44 am

    57. I’d blame a lot of that on coaching staff for St Louis performance. Even been told by ex St Louis alumni about that one. Goeas was playing out of position most of the year I heard so hard to grade him out there.

  62. laulau head December 13, 2012 6:53 am

One word…CHEEEHOOOO! Bust out ‘dem shades gang!!

  63. kapakahi December 13, 2012 6:56 am

    #55, #57 & #61,

DL definitely not Colton’s best position, while interestingly Kamalei looks like he could play the hybrid DE/OLB position.

Don’t even remember seeing Colton playing LB after the Farrington pre-season game.

Hopefully coaches go hard after Taleni….’cuz JMHO that there are no obvious top local HS DT prospects for next Class of 2014…..except possibly Vakameilalo (Kapolei HS)….and maybe Meyer (Kamehameha-Oahu).

His proset offensive scheme is so conservative that it put you to sleep at a game…they say a win is a win a win. .

    ST & Tsaiko Blog Dogs:

Congratulations to Jim Donovan. In his intro he mentioned that his administration will “chase championships”. Sounds like a Norm-ism. I hope he succeeds in this job. He is a very nice person and maybe his only fault was trusting too much.

Now comes the $64 questions: His salary is now a savings? or a wash? how many people will apply for his position?

  85. Old School Dave December 13, 2012 8:40 am

  94. papajoe2 December 13, 2012 9:07 am

Anybody noticed in today’s SA front page about the loss of $1.8 mil in 2012 athletic department? It’s a disturbing article to me. If not for the student fees (1.5 mil), it would be even worst. Travel expenses for visiting teams adds to the deficit. Low attendance at football really hurts.

  99. papajoe2 December 13, 2012 9:18 am

  100. kifi December 13, 2012 9:19 am

Congratulations to former Warrior Dane Uperesa, who coaches the offensive line at Iowa Western C.C. They won the Junior College National Championship this year. With over a dozen of their players slated to sign with D-1 schools, perhaps we should open up a pipeline there, and build a bridge to Manoa.

    http://bit.ly/TXTw2P

Come on Dane, send a few of them our way.

  101. Buffoman December 13, 2012 9:20 am

Read somewhere that the Big East is in some turmoil with the basketball schools thinking of possibly leaving. So, are SDSU and BSU still fully committed to going there?

  102. Pomai December 13, 2012 9:27 am

One more congratulations to JD and his family.

  103. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 13, 2012 9:29 am

    Buffoman,

Check the previous blog entry towards the bottom. Did a few posts regarding the Big LEast turmoil.

If BSu and STDSU are both pubically coming out fully committing to the BE, they are dumber than a sack of potatoes. Oh well, it’ll cost them that much more to get back to the MWC.

  104. Derek December 13, 2012 9:32 am

Happy for J. Donovan. I thought he got a raw deal at UH. Just my opinion, I think the top 2 needs to go. Terrible management, leadership, and PR. Lots of drama around and my good friend who helped UH for free for decades resigned this year because he was disgusted with all the things going on.

But at least the recruiting seems to be a lot better. The coaches are working really hard. And I do like that Florida RB St. Juste. He runs away from people. You don’t have to be big or tall. You just have to be good. Examples, Darren Sproles, Joe Morris, linebacker Sam Mills, Trindon Holliday, Kendall Hunter.

  105. tommui December 13, 2012 9:33 am

CONGRATULATIONS TO JIM DONOVAN – fine gentleman and good person.

I guess he will be commuting back and forth as AD of a Big West team. Very important for Kinda Shy to get vested in the system.

Best wishes to the Donovan Ohana!

  106. ai-eee-soos December 13, 2012 9:40 am

Isn’t JD “walking away” from the state retirement system ?

He is within 2 or 3 years of qualifying.

His retirement would be based on his “high three” at 240K –

That’s a lot to walk away from.

Very happy for Donovan. Good guy, bad deal at UH.

Welcome, Sale. Make us proud, Uce.

    On MRC

ST, correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t we get her by default. There were three finalist, and at the last minute, the other two withdrew their candidacies, leaving the UH only MRC to choose from. Isn’t this correct?

  115. SteveM December 13, 2012 10:09 am

    Good morning everyone!

Congratulations to Jim Donovan. Hate to see him leave but its the best move now. His family and friends are here so we know he will be back eventually. At least the Fullerton President doesn’t seem the type to throw anyone under the bus. Wishing Jim a very positive and fulfilling AD experience at CSF!

  116. Kevin December 13, 2012 10:17 am

Congrats to the student-athletes graduating this Saturday!

  117. DownSpout December 13, 2012 10:25 am

Regarding Donovan’s departure, let’s see how fast UH moves to fill the $200K+ “marketing position” he will be leaving. Any bets?

  118. d1shima December 13, 2012 10:29 am

  120. gobows December 13, 2012 10:32 am

  121. d1shima December 13, 2012 10:34 am

I’d blame a lot of that on coaching staff for St Louis performance. Even been told by ex St Louis alumni about that one.

Yep! That’s always the best way to find out what’s “wrong” with SLS FB. πŸ™„

Next best source: parents of 3rd stringers

btw, is “ex St. Louis alumni” a guy who no longer is a graduate of the school?

  122. wait a minute December 13, 2012 10:38 am

#106 – JD is not walking away, he already qualified many years ago. He has to wait until age 62 for full benefits though.

  127. SteveM December 13, 2012 10:42 am

    RE: #108 & #109

    SumTinWong — long time!

If you wondering (or not) if Iwonderwhytheyhate and SumTinWong know each other, let me tell you how they first met in person…

It was December 2007 and the Tsai-kos were scrambling to buy Sugar Bowl tickets. Brew808 handled the coordination of who can get tickets (season ticket holders) and who wanted for several weeks. Burn-out task. Garret stepped up and took over the final weeks.

Toward the end, Garret was short of tickets. The day before the deadline, a new blogger named “Iwonderwhytheyhateme” said he was entitled to buy 6 (8?) more tickets but he was a student and did not have the money (approx. $800?) to purchase them.

On the blog, SumTinWong offered to buy the tickets and get them to Garret. On the blog, IWWTHM and SumTimWong agreed to meet at the UH box office at 4:00 pm. They did, and the tickets got distributed per Garret’s plan.

What makes this incident special and a defining moment in Tsai-ko history: none of them had ever met in person before.

  128. Former UH Athlete December 13, 2012 10:51 am

Sale looks nice… good pickup by Chow. He appears to be a very good athlete.

Probably needs to redshirt 2013 unless he’s up to 250lb+ by fall camp. 230lb is way too light for a D1 defensive end.

Sale would be a perfect fit in a 3-4 defense as a Rush end/OLB right now, but that’s not UH’s main defense. Once Sale puts some weight on, he should be a solid DE for the next 4-5 years.

  129. Dan December 13, 2012 10:51 am

Congrats to Donovan. Great guy and CSUF is a great school. Now if he can get a football team going he’ll be crowned king of CSUF.

  130. RedZone December 13, 2012 11:13 am

Congrats to Jim Donovan. The athletic department has gotten really quiet since his departure. And now Apple wants to know if D1 is in UHs future?

  131. RedZone December 13, 2012 11:14 am

Oh yeah finally got my paper.

  132. gobows December 13, 2012 11:19 am

  133. d1shima December 13, 2012 11:23 am

    Congratulations to JD.

If any AD in the Cal State system can figure out how to fund a return to football he’d be a great candidate to replace Guv Moonbeam.

EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT!

4:27PM EST December 13. 2012 – The decision to leave has been made. Now the question is when and how to do it.

The seven Catholic, basketball members of the Big East Conference have decided to announce their departure from the league, according to two people with knowledge of the discussions. The two spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the talks were supposed to remain confidential.

    GARRET – your comments please!

Oh I found SDSU and BSU’s press release.

“We are excited about the opportunities that have presented themselves with the recent changes to membership. We look forward to welcoming new Big East members Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Belmont University, Saint Francis University, Monmouth University, Wagner College, Robert Morris University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. These schools position the Big East to continue its dominance in the college basketball landscape.”

Victorino’s contract with Boston is finally completed. Dang, 39 million dollas. What you tink it is, Chelsea Clinton!!! (play on Chris Tucker, on Rush Hour!) He’s got to be one of the richest professional athlete from Hawaii if not THE richest. Coupled with his prior 3 year $21 contract w/ the Phillies and prior salaries, Victorino will exceed about $65 milion by the time he’s 34 years old. If he’s healthy and productive he can still play until he’s around 38, probably in the American League where he can play a lot longer, because of the DH rule. He has to hit in the .270 range to continue to be considered a very good major league player because he won’t hit for power much.

  147. gobows December 13, 2012 1:07 pm

here’s some useless, but interesting bit of information:

Top ten list of the richest colleges in the USA. with 2011 endowment funds.

    1. HARVARD, $31,728,080,000.

    2. YALE, $19,374,000,000.

    3. TEXAS, $17,148,649,000.

    4. PRINCETON, $17,109,508,000.

    5. STANFORD, $16,502,606,000.

    6. MIT, $9,712,628,000.

    7. MICHIGAN, $7,834,752,000.

    8. COLUMBIA, $7,789,578,000.

    9. NORTHWESTERN, $7,182,745,000.

    10. TEXAS A&M, $6,999,517,000.

Wonder where UH would be, kind of doubt UH would crack the top 200.

  148. Derek December 13, 2012 1:34 pm

Looks like the Big East is in deep kim chee. Boise State and San Diego St. should consider staying in the Mountain West Conference. Don’t make sense when have to go travel east and your school is located in the West. Just like La Tech being in the WAC. You will have more natural rivalries if you stay in your own geographical location.

Happy for JD. I’d run from Greenie and Apple as fast as my legs could carry me. I just honestly don’t believe anything they say anymore – they’ve looked us in the eye and lied before. What’s to stop them from doing it again?

It’s like Kwai Chan Caine said on my all-time favorite show “Kung Fu.” You trust someone until they prove that they are untrustworthy. Greenie and Apple have done that. At least for me.

Happy Holidays to all on the blog! And congrats to Powder Puff on her new job…hear she’s a state employee now.

  156. Buffoman December 13, 2012 1:58 pm

It is probably such a long shot that I am called a dreamer BUT, if that talented LB from Punahou and the large O-Lineman from St. Louis decide to join KT from Waianae, Mr. Sale from Aiea, those young men from Kahuku as Warriors, I’d say that this would be THE foundation for one of the best, if not best incoming freshmen classes (that would include years we secured folks from the continent).

    One can only dream.

    WarriorNY,

Yeah, got it on just reg DVD format. Never crossed over into the Blu Ray thing, around that time, bought a new TV, sound system, etc… so.. I said, forget it,… good enough.

My C. Nolan collection is incomplete though. I never got around to buying Inception. It was on TV recently so when I flipped the channel it was already an hour into the movie and I was lost for about 10 minutes.

    Or was I dreaming….???? πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

  189. Former UH Athlete December 13, 2012 7:15 pm

Interesting that the Chow critics have been quite silent since the end of the season.

Like many have said before… Can’t judge a coach in his first year, especially a coach that wasn’t a part of the previous regime. New offense, new coaches, new terminology, new personalities, and a roster that wasn’t built for the new guy’s offense. Just like WSU, Leach had a horrible year and team chemistry was much worse than UH, but his 1st full recruiting class is looking very strong.

Chow has arguably received more top local commits than Mack in 4 years just in this one class. This is probably better than most of Jones local hauls during his tenure. How will they turn out is yet to be seen, but at first glance, this is very exciting for the future of the program. Not just for this year’s commits, but for the recruiting classes of 2014 & beyond.

I just hope Chow can land some upgrades at OL in the next few weeks. The good news for UH is that everybody returns next year… the bad news for UH is that everybody returns next year. Clarke looks like he’s gonna be real good, but the rest really need to have a good offseason to get the offense to where it needs to be. The OL is the key for any offensive system. Even the best spread offenses get stopped if the OL gets beat.

Transfers are needed to fill the holes (and there are a lot of them), but it’s the prep recruits that build the program. Chow’s has some really nice prep players in his first two classes, and I would expect Chow to ween off transfers as the years go by, but UH will always attract transfers because many local boys get homesick or they aren’t getting the playing time at a bigger program. JC players with Hawaii ties are attracted to UH also.

  190. nanakuli December 13, 2012 7:48 pm

I hope lots of JC O-linemen from Hawaii come home to play for Coach Chow. Play in front of the Ohana.

  191. WarriorMojo December 13, 2012 7:58 pm

    Re #190

Apparently, you’ve never heard the expression let sleeping dogs lie.

And isn’t it time you get off Mack’s jock already?

  192. BG December 13, 2012 8:13 pm

The list of recruits gets more and more impressive. Wow! Coaching staff building the foundation with great material.

The best of wishes for kindashy and JD. I believe they received the Christmas wish they deserved and got out of the UH’s messed up doo-doo pile. The only things that flourish in upper Manoa are mushrooms.

  193. kapakahi December 13, 2012 8:18 pm

Even with landing Kennedy….and hopefully also recruiting Taleni hard, JMHO that also need a DT from JC ranks…..now that looking like both Hautau DT brothers apparently are heading up to OSU….and especially IF Moala isn’t ready to transfer in for next season. Otherwise, better be recruiting Lepua and/or Lotulelei hard too.

  194. PowderPuff December 13, 2012 8:33 pm

Re #153 – What’s up, Manoa Mist!!! Long time no talk…thanks for the shoutout on the new job. It’s been a crazy 6 weeks so far, but loving being a public servant. Congratulations to JD and Kinda Shy….talked to Kinda Shy at the Dec. 1 game and she said they were waiting to hear this month. What a great Christmas gift for the Donovans.

  195. BG December 13, 2012 8:40 pm

Definitely after the fact, but I did want to get a shout out to Sailor Blue and Mrs SB for the many extra hours and effort put into making another tailgate season a super success. Of course, there are many others who put in substantive efforts, but it’s the SB crew who goes out and makes the reservations by continually trekking down to the base office and laying the bucks out up-front. Mahalo nui loa!

  196. kapakahi December 13, 2012 8:42 pm

    #190,

Not silent….but apparently needs repeating again…..since apparently not being read closely nor understood by some….

Regarding the OL, way too early and still in doubt whether “everybody returns next year”. As previously stated, whether the returning (and even incoming) OL has “a good offseason” will depend on whether the training program & methods (not crafted by TH) improve (or not). The OL players followed the training philosophy & program last off-season along with the coaching instructions during the season…..SO now it’s also on the OL coach….and not just the OL players…..to implement improvements if better results are expected.

No doubt that the recruiting effort….at least with local high school prospects….is more consistent & persistent than ever before…..thereby netting better results. HOWEVER….while recruiting is the lifeblood towards building a solid foundation for the football program, ONLY with proper coaching and motivation will a player likely develop and improve…..so that they may play to their potential.

    Deserve

    Verb

Do something or have or show qualities worthy of (reward or punishment)

So what do the UH student-athletes and hard-working coaches deserve?

They DESERVE support and leadership from a stable structure. These student-athletes (some of us either know some personally or their families personally) and coaches are the people we support on a daily basis.

They deserve their Christmas present after a tumultuous 2012. While the football program suffered the greatest in the win-loss column, all programs are effected by the HIGHLY publicized events of 2012.

    Where is their “present”?

They DESERVE to have it sooner than later.

    Enough is enough goddamnit.

  198. kapakahi December 13, 2012 8:49 pm

    #190,

TO REPEAT FROM 2 DAYS AGO…..

It’s ultimately about mutual trust and respect….between the players and the coaching staff.

It’s also about how players perceive their teammates are being treated…..either equally and fairly….or unequally and unfairly.

SO….NO problem IF this treatment is perceived as being equal and fair.

HOWEVER….IF this treatment is perceived as being unequal and unfair, then some players may empathize with their teammate(s)….especially for one who is a close friend….which can sometimes translate to how some players perceive a particular coach or coaches…..and influence whether they feel that they can respect and/or trust this particular coach…..in order to follow the leadership and “buy-in” to the program and instructions given…..and to motivate them….to perform to their potential on the field.

From this past season, perceptions by players inevitably differed…..unfortunately divided somewhat along the lines of whether the player was identified as a “Mack” player as opposed to being a “Chow” player…..which obviously lead to some divisions within the team locker room….and not the greatest team dynamic and chemistry…..translating to inconsistent results and less than steady improvements on the field.

What happened last season is done….BUT the point here is that….the mutual trust and respect both on and off the field between some players and some coaches must improve in order to translate to steady improvements on the field for the Warriors in coming seasons.

NO DOUBT THAT GOOD RECRUITING HELPS…..BUT THE MUTUAL TRUST AND RESPECT MUST ALSO IMPROVE.

  199. kapakahi December 13, 2012 9:05 pm

Might be kinda interesting…..and maybe awkward….to see how everyone greets each other…..as well as the crowd’s reception…..IF JD attends the Jan. 3rd (Wed.) Big West Conference MBB home game (as the new Titan AD) when CSUF visits the Stanley.

Hello there, You have done a great job. I will certainly digg it and personally suggest to my friends. I’m sure they’ll be benefited from this website.

  201. huh? December 13, 2012 10:56 pm

So why do you stir up this hearsay?

You don’t speak for everyone involved nor are you a witness to the everyday events. Its getting old hearing your stuff.

Or do you just want to be read?

  202. Bleed Green and White December 14, 2012 4:29 am

    Thoughts:

I applaud the the recruiting efforts of Norm Chow and his staff. Especially locally, the most significant efforts I’ve seen in Hawaii in over 15 years.

    It is great to witness.

    Go Warriors.

Ignorant! That’s what I feel about some who are questioning weather or not UH should remain at it’s current Division-1A status.

Stop with the kindergarten non-sense already!

    Internet!

Honestly, I’m wondering weather or not any of the officials at Cal State Fullerton know how to use it.

    Wow!

Rainbow Warriors playing on Moloka’i. I get it it, but I don’t get it at the same time.

Happy Aloha Friday Warrior Beat Fans!

The countdown continues as we eagerly await word of more recruits for Xmas. The promise from Santa to deliver some *stocking stuffers* on LOI day would be fantastic!

During your daily deeds, take it slow. Things start to get hectic from now thru the holidays. Be patient Tsaiko’s. If you drink, don’t drive. If you drive…make sure you have a car!

  205. Chicken Grease December 14, 2012 5:19 am

Good Friday Morning Folks! May the Christmas Season be filled to overflowing with Aloha for you and your ohana! Best wishes to Coach Chow, his staff and Warrior program for continued success with recruiting! Whether or not we are lucky enough to get Hawaii’s best local recruits to stay home may have less to do with our great weather…and more to do with our facilities (ouch)! Boy, it would be nice to secure a benefactor of significant means for UH Athletics! Have a great weekend!

    #202,

Like WarriorMojo said (see #192), you can thank Former UH Athlete (see #190) for not letting “sleeping dogs lie”.

Won’t repeat…..unless some won’t let us dogs lie down and sleep.

  222. kapakahi December 14, 2012 6:55 am

Hoping that (now former Colorado Buff OL) Paulay Asiata is advising his younger cousin Titus…..that going to a mainland Pac-12 program isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be.
