2 former Warriors sign pro deals in Germany

Two former Warriors — Makani Kema-Kaleiwahea and Makoa Camanse-Stevens — signed contracts to play in the German Football League.

Kema-Kaleiwahea will play for the Colonge Crocodiles. Camanse-Stevens has joined the Stuttgart Scorpions. Both players are scheduled to arrive in Germany tomorrow. Their first games are on Sunday.

“I’m excited for this opportunity,” said Kema-Kaleiwahea, who is projected to compete as a weak-side linebacker, rush end, running back, fullback and tight end.

Kema-Kaleiwahea has an escape clause that will allow him to leave to join the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Kema-Kaleiwahea is on the Blue Bombers’ reserve list as a fullback and outside linebacker.

Camanse-Stevens has been told he will be used as a receiver or quarterback for the Scorpions. He was a quarterback at Kamehameha Schools and receiver/option passer with the Warriors.

Both players completed their UH eligibility at the end of the 2016 Hawaii Bowl.

Planning (even tentatively) to attend any UH football away game this year?

Include tour agency/tour number if applicable–you might be on the same tour. In Vegas, the hotel is important for the same reason. 😉

    7. I briefly met Matlin at an event a few weeks ago and he said he was working on a new apparel deal. No hint of with whom or when an announcement would be made however.
