Farewell, 2012
Well, it wasn’t dull.
If it felt like a long year, well, that’s because it was a leap year.
But it also was because it consisted of the Wonder fiasco (and for his own sake, Stevie Wonder should just put on a concert so his last name won’t forever rhyme with “blunder”), Norm Chow’s first UH season, and the arrival of the Ben Jay era (he’s due here any week, right?).
The year’s about to expire, and it’s time to pound the mochi.
We made it this far, so if you’re going to drink, don’t drive. And if you’re going to drink, in honor of the Koakane, Stretch and the Coloma Ohana, make it a green bottle. (Ginger Ale comes in a green bottle, right?)
Take care, folks.

Happy New Year!!! 2013 looks promising for UH.

Final ohyaooooooooooooooogozaimasu of 2012!!!!!! Enjoy it 🙂 .
a Grease’s Predictions for 2013 (not to be taken in the same level of seriousness as some o’these 12-21-2012- believers had with regard to their own now-as-old-as-bell-bottoms-horse-and-buggy-and-8-track-tape belief/took stock in; but, hey, if one or more of these come true in 2013, a Grease is greasy good! 😉 ):
• Let’s start out with something easy and easily predictable: there will be NO major gun law changes on the federal level in 2013. (a Grease’ll probably repeat this prediction each year. Thank you.)
• There will be no major U.S. Contemporary celebrity (i.e., Whitney, Jacko, etc.) deaths in 2013. Does not include older, still active, celebrities (i.e., Jack Nicholson, Betty White, etc.)
• A North Korean missile test will actually hit something on land other than their own territory; China will not back them up. International response will make North Korea apologize.
• Queen of England will suffer a major health scare that will be the headline for a week or two. Her illness may lead to her death.
• Mr. Stephen Tsai will be asked by Ben Jay himself to run an encapsulized football Warrior-focused maarketing/PR unit of Uh athletics.
• Warrior football will win six (6) games. Sorry.
Normally, a Grease hates “end of year/best of” lists, but, this exception I find a bit intriguing (albeit, not a new idea). You Oceanic digital subscribers — one of the the Music Choice “hits” channels. (Pop or “Hit List” something or other) is supposed to begin a top hits of 2012 countdown sometime today (thought I saw “starts at 7pm”, but, could be going on as we post, so, tune in to one of those 800 Music Choice channels for more detail.) TRULY uninterrupted countdown and w/out silly fanfare if youse know how the Music Choice channels work. 🙂
Happy pre-2013, all.

Florida guys don’t visit for another three weeks, I think.
No official offer until they visit. So, if anyone is wondering, no commitments yet.
Howzit, Gang!
Definitely has been an up-and-down, entertaining year! Lots of headaches, but also lots of great, positive things that point to the possibility of a super 2013. And with that, from my ‘ohana, and the Jawjah Chaptah of Tsai-kos…
Happy New Year, y’all! (Translated: “Hau’oli Makahiki Hou”)
As stated above, please be careful out there tonight! Got many tailgates, CC’s, and various other activities coming up this year. Plus, we’ll finally be back home this summer, so… if anything… you guys get to meet dis bolohead guy from da Wes’side, if you haven’t already!

ST,
Any word on Mike Edwards draft evaluation and if he’s declaring for the Draft?
ESPN reports that the MWC will be paying for Boise exit fee from the BE. Why? Boise is moving to a faltering BE, they want out, the MWC should be patient then dictate terms to Boise to keep them from bailing out in the future. Boise also wants to keep its own TV contract.
ST & Tsaiko Blog Dogs:
Wishing you and yours a happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year!

Per the contract, if there is no Western football team. San Diego State does not have to go to the Big East or pay a penalty.
#46 & #50
did the big 12 pay the big least for TCU? i don’t think so.
if the MWC sends payment, that will be a stupid move.
make the big least take the MWC to court.
#53 that is what ESPN reports, SDST hasn’t committed to the MWC, but I would think the deadline for them passed considering they committed to the BE before Boise. Boise waited for the 12th hour to pull out without signing on to the BE.
Boise says its pulling teams out of the BW, I think this bodes well for UH wahine sports not having to travel to Boise. Waiting on SDST, their teams are also in the BW conference. I hope the BW had an exit fee for Boise and SDST.
Gobows, I knew a dude named Wai Shing Tong. I used the he should have adopted the alias, “George”
Stock Market closed on a positive note.
Happy New Year to all.
Have a great trading year !!!
USC has been th biggest disappointment this year in college football and maybe in history.
241 days til USC comes to town
Congrats to Kamilah Martin for winning the Big West Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Award!
Al, al, al, ala moana, ala moana, ala moana!!!!
When you get greedy, eventually you will get burned. Don’t people watch Burn Notice!!! Boise St., those arrogant bastards. I hope they get their okoles kicked. Sooner or later Chris Petersen will leave for greener pastures, probably the PAC 12, maybe at Washington or Oregon. Sarkisian is on the hot seat and Chip Kelly might be persuaded to go to the NFL. Lose Petersen and that’s like the head being cut off. Their other programs are mediocre at best. But I admire how Boise St. football keep winning big every year, for so long from Dirk Koetter, from Dan Hawkins, to now Petersen. Sooner or later, they will come back to the pack. Texas did, USC did, Penn St. did, and so did Virginia Tech.
Don( forget — be at Mililani Town Center at 7pm today; they going drop a big pineapple same time New York drops their Big Apple.
Oh, one more prediction, 2013:
• Talks for college football signage day in Hawaii will be at least discussed fervently w/regard to moving that day separate from the other college sports.
Another provision for Boise…the MWC will allow them to wear all-blue unis at home.

SMU and Houston to accept invites to the MWC.
There is a bonus paid to each MWC school for play on national TV ESPN/CBS/NBC, $300,000 per game, I think it’s a extra $200,000 for a National TV home game for a total of $500,000.
So the USC vs Hawaii game, Hawaii will get paid a bonus of $500,000 from the new MWC TV contract!
I’m sorry not additional $200,000 for a National TV home game but rather a National TV weekend game.

In all honesty, I don’t think the MWC will have to kick in too much to pay Boise’s exit fees from the Big East. I mean…Boise had to pay the MWC exit fees when they left for the Big East, right?
Also, the restructured MWC TV deal will at least allow them to try sell off the USC-UH game to ESPN or Fox…because to be honest, a Thursday night showing on the CBS Sports Network with an 11pm ET (5pm HT) kickoff isn’t gonna draw many viewers.
Good morning everyone!
Since ST has left the blog open on this last day of 2012, it would be nice if all the previous and infrequent posters who have been mostly lurking… “check in” for the new year on the blog with your tidings.
Its “neat” to see the all the blog names appear again. 😎
Post today… and see you all next year!
I wonder if UH still have to pay the travel subsidy for BS.
Why would the MWC want Boise back? They always looking for greener pastures. Not good guy/girl to go steady with. Wandering eyes.
Howzit Tsaikos!
Happy New Years!
B$U should be paying the MWC for taking them back.
At least only one UH team will have to travel to Boise, and that’s only once every other year, maybe.
Have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year, everyone!
Come March/April, watch the MWC stall on releasing the football schedule as they try to try to get SDSU back or another team (SMU, Houston, UTEP) to fill the 12th spot.
Or maybe they have a draft schedule somewhere with this in mind…
PS… Really enjoying the moment – My fave teams are now the NFC East and NFC West Champs.
HTTR!
GO PACK!
Since SteveM asked so nicely, here I am.
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope to see you soon around town; at the beach, at restaurants, at the bars, at the mall, at house parties, at tennis matches (GO Windward Warriors!!), stuck on the H-1, on Kalanianaole Hwy, at UH Manoa, on TheBus, EVERYWHERE!! 😀
http://www.cbssports…s-in-discussion
Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson said today the league has been in talks with 3-5 teams. San Diego State — which originally planned to join the Big East in a package deal with Boise — is one of them. A league source says schools from Texas have recently shown interest in becoming members. UTEP, SMU, Houston and possibly Texas-San Antonio are schools to watch.
Boise St. should now pay their own way here and pay for Hawaiis travel there.
I hope everyone has a safe and blessed New Year’s Eve/Day! 🙂
I think Boise State’s decision is great news for UH football. No more worries about UH being left on the outside looking in. Keeping Boise State stabilizes the MWC and should ensure the Warriors will be playing in a relevant, competitive FBS conference for the foreseeable future.
I really like the way the TV revenue issue was handled. Boise State wanted to keep the money from all of its home football games. That was a non-starter; no conference allows that. But instead, it was agreed that broadcast rights for Boise State home games will be kept separate from the existing MWC TV deal with CBS, and instead will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The proceeds will not go to Boise State, but rather to the MWC, which will distribute them to all MWC members along with other conference TV revenue. It’s a win-win deal that maximizes the payoff for everybody.
It appears the only real concessions made to Boise State were (1) setting up special additional payouts based on national TV appearances, which can benefit any school that performs well on the field; and (2) the MWC agreeing to help pay Boise State’s exit penalty from the Big East, which is only a one-time expense.
All in all, a good outcome for the MWC and UH. Happy New Year!
SDSU may not make it back to the MWC if any of the following three gets invited:
SMU, Houston, BYU, UTEP, UTSA, Tulsa, etc.
Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
Best wishes to all….and to all…
Goooooooooo Warriors!
Goooooooooo Wahine!
Somewhere, over the rainbow…
Happy New Year to all Tsaiko friends!!! We all “bleed green”, just don’t do it on the roads…
As of Boise…I hate taters…
UH may want to reconsider trying to get ALL teams playing in the MWC to avoid being “left off” should there be further realignment. I know it will “cost us”, but it will be worse if we end up with just membership in the Big West.
i am sure sdsu will announce its return.
then the mwc will be a 12 team football conference.
two divisions?
championship game?
having smu brings the dallas market.
including utep or houston would provide a texas travel partner.
or the next texas two step.
USC not only lost to Georgia Tech. They only generated 208 yards of offense. I love it.
kruzen…i’d bet a four scoop guri guri that sdsu will return to the mwc.
Hawaii might be landing top Jc TE in nation. Crossing my fingers…
I’m sure San Diego St. will come back to the MWC to make it a 12 team conference. Actually, it could be a baker’s dozen of 13 teams because Hawaii only plays football in the MWC. MWC is hoping BYU comes back to the fold. It makes too much sense.
how’s that Ajoe??? Boise not going.
Happy New year to all.
BIK
Per #68 SteveM, I shall check in.

Hoping the NCAA imp
Hoping everyone keep safe, healthy and happy this new year.
And I’m with you Liz…GO PACK!!!!!!!!!
With BSU staying in the MWC… I guess that put’s UH’s recruiting class to #2 by default. At least 2 major recruiting networks rank UH’s recruiting class as tops in MWC (with BSU and SDSU slated to leave)
Hoping the NCAA enacts new rules limiting artificial field surfaces to a color of grass.
Sorry, hit the wrong button by mistake earlier.
Hau’oli Makahiki Hou…Imua warriors!
Dat’s okay, next year our Warriors will wear total GREEN uniforms and see if they can find us on the field.
howzit yu’all time winding down on 2012, I sure most of you are are preping for ringing in the new year. or like some of us putting in some nap time befor the gang arrives.
😎
getting sleepy
With the change in the MWC, I hope UH does not get the “short-end” of having to pay travel $$$ to “new teams” including BSU and SDSU – earlier someone posted that Commish Thompson said “new” teams will not receive any travel subsidies from UH – hope this is true.
They already gave up all OC 16 TV $$ rights to the MWC – why did the President’s allow BSU to keep their TV rights or did I read wrong?
ok all you guy now, going get shut eye before the gree fire works begins
bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Jeezy, you talking about Beau Sandland? Is he decommiting from Miami?
Good end of the year Tsaikos!!!
Happy New Year to all!!!
What you mean??? Gramps has been imbibing in green bottles since Saturday…..MWAHAHAHAHAHHA
#87 & #102,
Jeezy’s talking about TE Brandon Vandenburg (College of The Desert, Palm Desert, CA.)…..
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/92307/#highlights/19200374
Hopefully UH also taking a look at Brandon’s teammate DL Lynden Tulimasealii…..cousin of Warrior commit DT Kennedy Tulimasealii.

#105,
Vandenburg top rated JC TE prospect by ESPN…..ranked No. 10 overall of top 100 JC prospects…..while Lyndon Tulimasealii ranked No. 96 of top 100 JC prospects.

Former UH Athlete, re #91, that’s true but then BSU sticking around also will keep national media attention on the MWC and over the long run that should help UH recruiting.
Dropped in to wish everyone a safe and happy 2013 New Year.
Sort of glad “Boise State not going” to the Big East. My hate for them has been rejuvenated.
Be safe and have a happy new year. First half of the UH athletic season pau, looking forward to the second half, I’mua Warriors and Wahine. Aloha and out
al, what new lunch place in Kaimuki? Is it within walking distance to my office?
Former Warrior DT Vaughn Meatoga has been signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad…
Lucky him, now he gets to go to the Superbowl! Cheee…GO HAWKS!
A-House #99:
Boise doesn’t get to keep their TV rights…that would be unheard of even in the SEC.
Instead, the MWC can choose to sell off some (or all) of Boise’s home football rights to other networks. Any monies gained from that would be rolled into the funds from the aggregate MWC TV contract and disbursed to all MWC members.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year! Looking forward to next season and road trips to LV, NM, and Annapolis.
How much did Boise get from the BCS games? Did the Big East exit fee just wipe out those profits?
We do have a relationship with COD Brent Rausch came from there I believe so it might not be that far of a stretch for us to land Vandenburg….
#105 – Doesn’t Brandon Vandenburg already have all of his trips set-up and planned already?
Scout.com says that he visited UConn in November, and plans to visit Arizona State, Vandy, Tennessee, and Nebraska in 2013. Would be great if he cancelled one of those trips and came to Hawaii instead.
@FerdLewis
Hawaii LIKELY to HAVE to pay travel subsidies for BSU and ANY NEW MWC football members.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
@116 that’s a bummer… Pay to play huh.
I hate how the MWC treats us like they are doing us a favor.
jojo…wait till next year.
@Grease I hope you are wrong on your 1st prediction. I also happen to think if that was put to a vote of the people it would change.
Aloha, Tsaiko Ohana!!
Haouli Makahiki Hou!!
See you all in 2013!
Esme woosh and back to lurking
The Big West Commissioner made it clear months and months ago that UH’s BWC programs will NOT have to pay travel subsidies should they expand. Yes, no one is looking to jump to the BWC and nor are they openly looking to add, but at that time I believe it was BSU looking to go to the BWC and the BWC commish put his foot down and said UH ain’t paying for any new members.
I like the BWC commissioner. 😎
Dropping in to say happy new year to all! Xin Nian Kuai Le! Sae Hae Bok Manhi Badeseyo!
I hope everyone had a good 2012. Here’s to hoping I get to see some of you in the new year. Please enjoy yourselves tonight, but please be safe. Want to ‘see’ all your faces on the blog next year. Aloha!
#122 let hope commish keeps his word and UH has a brighter outlook in 2013 and in the BW
Be Happy and Safe tonight folks….
ST, Thanks for a great (did not want to use’wonderful’) blog and writing this year….looking forward to more!
GO Warriors!!!
Buon anno, Manigong Bagong Taon, Feliz Año Nuevo, Manuia le Tausaga Fou and Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!!!
Stay safe, do not drink and drive!
Paying travel subsidies to new MWC members is not what UH would prefer, but it won’t actually increase UH’s costs since there will still be only four MWC teams visiting each year. Also, if the conference continues to expand, UH’s costs should go down a bit since fewer games will be with opponents visiting from east of the Rockies, to whom UH pays $175,000 instead of $150,000.
A happy and prosperous 2013 to each of you from the freezing PNW!
Ha ha USC lost. Now ALL their BALLS are DEFLATED!
Thank you Georgia Tech!!!!
All this paying travel subsidies stinks. It hurts the program. What Hawaii not a part of the United States? Sorry no freeway to get here. Wish some akamai attorney would look into this matter. It’s discriminatory. Sorry I just feel that way.
Happy new year to all Warrior fans in < 4.5 hrs
Longtime lurker first time poster, Happy New Year everyone. Be safe tonight.
Happy New Year!
Next year will be a Warrior Year!
With Chis Ault’s retirement and Rolo going to Temple, who is going to give Boise St a run for the conference championship? Fresno did poorly against SMU. Doesn’t look like they will. Well, maybe Utah St, but it will look like Snow White and the 10 dwarves all over again. Boise will look for a move for sure. It just won’t be the Big East.
Here’s to a happy, prosperous, and safe 2013 to everyone. I don’t think I’m gonna make it to midnight (ET), unfortunately…
Happy New Year Fellow Tsai-kos,
So much happened this year… Same good some bad. But whether positive or negative, everyone had a voice and could add their two cents. May all of your hopes and dreams come true in 2013. May we all have good health and not lose any members of our growing community.
Welcome back to the MWC Boise St. I’m looking for the opportunity to see you again at Aloha Stadium. Just a matter of time before we beat your butts regularly
Going to stop by Kekoa’s & the Queen’s. then home for a quiet night.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, TSAIKOS!
My brother suggested I would possibly like this website. He was once totally right. This publish actually made my day. You can not consider just how much time I had spent for this information! Thank you!
lopaka43,
The UNOs are in town.
Happy Happy New Year to everyone!!
We will be in Waipahu in a few hours with the fam bam.
Party safely, all!
Happy New Year All!
Looking forward to a terrific year…anticipating much change, both personally and for the Warriors.
The only way to meet it: Gambatte!
A new year and a new AD. May 2013 be a much better year, and may everyone have a safe evening.
Happy 2013 Folks!
Aloha to 2012,
The end of 2012 gives hope and promise.
7pm HI time is New York’s midnight! WarriorNY!!!!!!!
Hope for a much improved Warrior FB Program…
Hi Mr. Grease!
If it’s midnight in New York, that means only one thing…
We’ve only five hours left to get to 2,013 post entries!
2012 is “the year of the dragon.” As an individual of Chinese ancestry, a Grease wonders why it didn’t seem that the revered dragon of the Chinese horoscope wasn’t on his side, no?
Or maybe the dragon WAS on his side . . . in order to give him great advantage and great luck down the road. Hard to tame a dragon. Is this the point?
There was a TV ad long ago — “ancient Chinese secret”? A Grease wonders . . .
Hui? Wea e’vrybody went?
Dea him…Mr Grease, howzit?
Heh. Should’ve read, “As an individual of Chinese ancestry, Coach Norm Chow . . .” [emphasis mine.] and the rest of # 152 is correct.
Cool! A Grease is of Chinese ancestry!
Kung Hee Fat Choy, Mr Grease!
Aloha to Tom Newell who showed up in Kailua on his way to the Marshall Islands. Tom played BB at UH in ’69-’70,’71. Tom was the 2nd President of the UH Letterwinners Club. He now runs BB Clinics for the Internationally.
Tom Mui
PolyMom comes to town this month. Same place on either the 9th or 10th??
Sorry, sorry, sorry, mo808, heh, please read # 153, so sorry for that leave-out of Coach Chow’s name. A Grease DOES seem to get along quite easily w/Chinese folk, somehow, not being Chinese himself[!] Should get a blood tranfusion from Chinese, though; would that count?
Hai, hai, kung hee fat choy (which will be coming soon enough 😉 .

Statement from Houston, sounds like they are ready to leave too.

mo808, hello there!!! Don’t wanna single anyone out, but, hellos to those who a Grease finds a bit of affinity with, yes? mo808, WarriorNY, kev-1, SAWarrior (the heck he went off to? [!]), ala wai, papjoe2 . . . ah, a Grease shouldn’t mention names.
Thanks for making 2012 wholesome, intelligent, and the best blog on the planet 🙂 .
Thanks, Mr. Stephen Tsai!!!!!
No matta Mr Grease, i get Chinese ancestry from momma’s side– in fact, I get ancestors in da bone yard (contents in three big ceramic jars) up near punchbowl. Great grand father and his parents.
All I want for 2013 is the Holy Grail!
Derek, with or without ale?
Best wishes for 2013 to our Warriors and Warrior Nation!
Insane respect, mo808, a Grease had no idea. A culture so rich and imbued in EVERY culture, moist overlook the influence. Even ny Jesus hs to say, “good My Father! That there culture dates back further than our own! And its influence!!!!”
Happy New Year Tsai-kos (Tsaikos and Tsaikettes – oh well I was tryna be lazee ;)) and Lurkers and Lurkettes!!
Howzit going???
Merry Belated Christmas and good tidings to all, and I wish you all the best for the new year!
Yep, we made it through a long tough year but good news is we’ve got a whole new start this year! GO WARRIORS!!
Miss you 🙁 and love you all 🙂 !!!
pu’uwai and san jose warrior — Welcome to the blog on this last day of 2012!

2012 ~ Pau already!
More than anything, I wanna see some improvements in the UH upper campus for 2013. Start with the bag lady UH Prez and end with taking out the sour Apple…Done!
Mahalo to all my Tsaiko brethren. You guys kept me from going over the edge on several occasions. Let”s look for a supah solid FB season.
Have a Happy!
Happy New Year Tsai-kos!
Just checking in before the end 2012. (Don’t want to get scolded by SteveM.)
Have a great 2013.
Our best wishes to you all for a most happy, healthy, and prosperous 2013! We have been lurking for most of the year…but have seen many of you at the various athletic functions. Looking forward to spending time with many of you again.

Just wanted to honor his request for some of us infrequent posters to check in today.
Enjoyed your comments and humor througout this year.
boise can come and go as they wish cause they own the MWC . when you win the confrence every year you can do what you like.
Aloha 2012!!!
Thank you ST and the Tsaiko’s for an memorable year. Alot of good and bad for the University. May we strive to support our Warriors in 2013 and may you all aspire to be bring joy to the ones you love!!! Have a happy New Year and be safe out there tonight!!
As requested by SteveM:
Happy New Year, Tsaikos! It’s 2013 on the Eas Coast.
On another note, SA finally printed my letter suggesting renaming the airport to honor Daniel Inouye. This is after they posted a similar letter days early. Oh well, best to keep the idea alive. Also did as al suggested and emailed the Governor’s Office. Not expecting much support from him.
From my house to your house, Happy New Year!!!!!
They just dropped the pineapple in Mililani ’bout 15-200mins ago. Camille Velasco and a band performing right now @ Mililani Town Center.
al,
I think SDSU will be invited back to MWC too.
However, the guri guri is on me but it’ll have to wait till after June when work slows down.
Hauoli la hanau from the sunshine state

#181. WOW it’s ready 2013 in Mililani!!!! Haha.
Wouldn’t it be something if SDSU wasn’t invited back? Talk about being stabbed in the back by BSU. Teach them a lesson to choose your friends wisely.
2013 will be an interesting year in the MWC with all the new coaches. Crazy that little more than a year from not being retained at UH Aranda will be DC at Wisconsin. McMackin said that he was a rising star — seems that he was correct. I know that’s old news…
Sadly we have no leverage with the MWC. We have no where else to go and they know it.
Happy New Year to everyone & hope to see some of you out in Oregon in the fall.
how the noize
cheewhooo
What noize?
Hauoli la hanau!
It has been a long year – but the future is hopefully bright!
Take care everyone!
DON WEIR:
Sounds good – let me know what date!
Aloha and best wishes for the New Year!
read somewhere BS moving back and will keep their tv monies. if this be true then let UH keep it’s pay per view. or better yet no travel subsidies to Boise.
else the MW is bs
Ohhhhh, great, great, great, wonderfulful, nice. Ah, I left too early, then. Yeah, Town Center had the idea to drop a pineapple — comes w/the legendary red dirt, a Grease supposes — same time New York dropped their apple, Warrior Dave, heh.
I am haviing SUCH a good time (ii jikan) where I am. Hope you are, too, fine people.
Pretty soon Havaii 2013.
Wonder what happen to all the naysayers.. during the season..that were saying..that coach Chow’s recruiting class would be non existing…zero…kaput…nada….wala-wala…what say you… as Mr. Reilly would say ???
Happy New Years to all. Hope 2013 is a better year for all UH sports.
Happy New Year ST & fellow Tsai-Kos! Here’s to a better football season!
Happy New Years to all from Texas. Have fun and Stay safe. Mochi sounds great right now.
Thanks for the clarification Chicken Grease. Hope you had fun in Mililani. Just think, you can celebrate two New Years celebrations.
#66 What’s up
the usc game is on a thursday, does it still count as a weekend game?
Happy 2013 New Year everyone…
Happy new year to you all. It’s been awhile. Hope all is well. 🙂
Happy New Year’s to all!
i can feel the bombs blasting in kalihi
Am Boise State hater. Having said that am estastic that BS is remaining in MWC and keeping league relevant on the national stage. Wasn’t it just a few weeks ago that many of us were in agnst fearing breakup or instability of MWC with news of Big East further raiding of MWC, and Colorado St/Wyoming wanting to seceed and form new league. BS remaining is good for long term health of the league, and for Warrior football.
HawnMantis — Welcome to the blog! If you reside outside of Hawaii, please share you city of residence.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy New Year everyone!!
Btw: in the last three years did I ever mention to you a small mere fact that:
BOISE NOT GOING?
=)
Mahalo to ST and all the tsaikos for an interesting blog during the year. May you all be blessed with a prosperous spirit and a healthy New Year.
A-joe,

Happy New Year, Tsaikos!

just sending out a happy bday to pohaku halemano 😉
Happy New Year to all!
Very great post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to mention that I’ve really enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. In any case I will be subscribing on your rss feed and I am hoping you write again soon!
Signs point toward Mike Edwards applying to the draft, according to Stephen’s story. Hate to see him go, but he’s achieved a lot and carried himself well in his two seasons in Hawaii. Guess we’ll find out for certain in a few hours.
Thanks for every other fantastic article. Where else could anyone get that type of information in such a perfect way of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such information.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Best Wishes for the coming year!
Midnight and Barbara
Happy New Year!!
Travel subsidies are just a necessary evil for us to belong. History shows that one of the primary reasons we were left out of the original MWC was because President Mortimer decided to eliminate our previous WAC travel subsidies. As much as it sucks, it’d behoove us to not make that same mistake again. Mr. Mongoose makes a great point in that we’ll always be paying for 4 trips a year, regardless of the number of teams in the conference.
Polymom…got a big laugh out of your SC comment……poor ol USC and Monte and Lane can sulk till next year…..here is to a strong recruiting final leg. Go Warriors!!!!!
Happy New Year Everyone! Looking forward to a great year! Hawaii Bowl!
Happy New Year folks!
Geez, How do I still feel tipsy at 11 am… I guess it was a good night!
Great New Years Morning Greeting Folks!
Howzit WNY?
No fair, WNY! You had a chance to sleep late! Us guys still get one or more eyes closed!
Come on gang! We need 2013 entries today!

Oops sorry for double post
Happy 2013, all.
Good morning it was a quiet entrance into the New Year. Doggone fireworks ban!!! I miss those noisy years. May our men’s basketball team be blessed with a winning season and that Vander either goes up to the basket for a shot after receiving a pass or throw it back out to an open man and move into another open spot to receive a reentry pass and not hold on to the ball and be swarmed on a double team.
Hello there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one? Thanks a lot!
hau’oli makahiki hou to all from the dmv…wishing 2013 to be the break out year for warrior football and show the country what we’re really about..HTTR!
WNY, one of several alarms never sleeps in! 🙂
So! How, noisy was it last night where you live Folks?
It was a ruckus in Kailua last night!
My pit and retriever were best friends united in fear and trembling from all the explosions! So much so they slept in the same crate!
#245 monte kiffin was probably fired by son lane and is seeking job opportunities in the nfl.
with 7 teams looking for a new head coach, he surely will land somewhere in the league.
That fireworks ban must be working, mo808. Much less explosions (i.e., none every few minutes) than in past years. Stockpilers’ inventory going DOWN as years go by. Up to the gov’ment make sure these things don’t get through, no?
Yeah. Relatively way less quiet. Good. Think that incident where that little girl’s hands were damaged by those idiots’ pipe bomb — think was Kalihi side — helped to silently (pun intended) galvanize the effort.
Heh, a Grease knows some who are AGAINST fireworks ban, but, FOR gun control. A Grease is one the other sensible side 😉 . Here we go . . . “politics” begin in 2013 . . . 🙂
Good Luck to Mike Edwards. Thanks for reppin the 808 for two years.
*yawn* zzzzzzzzzzzzz…
GOOD MORNING HAWAII!
And a bright Hawaiian day – either that or the windows need cleaning and we have also a touch of vog.
It was comparatively quiet in the Kapiolani district with sightings of some illegal fireworks. From our rooftop, we got to see (partially) the midnight display on the beach with the Harbor display in the far distance.
Yep, the previous years of noise and smoke are disappearing as the years go by – which may be for the good.
Happy New Year one and all!
Not too much noise in Mililani compared to previous years but there were still some “bombs” that rattled our windows.
Damn I hate fireworks!
Irritating as heck, wake up this morning and see some of the neighbors have no class again, the street’s a mess. My God, at least clean your crap up!
Hey HPD, really, how many arrests for illegal firewirks or “no permits” were made……?
What a joke!
Aloha Mikey!
Good first morning of 2013!
This is going to be a super year.
Happy New Year everyone!
#266 PONO . . . did I miss something?
Happy New Year!
Relatively quiet in my part of Kailua last night.
Everyone else in the house is still sleeping, even the blog mascot.
Nevermind. Maybe I should read the paper before I comment. Anyway, I will save my opinion on Edwards pending decision for fear of coming across negative. Good luck to him whatever he chooses.
Nevah read papah yet so will go do so now 🙁
