Warriors up to 8 in poll, SandBows stay at 5
Hope everyone had a good Sunday
As for today’s polls,
Hawaii heads into the postseason with a new ranking, moving up a spot to No. 8 in Monday’s AVCA Coaches Men’s Volleyball Top 15.
The Rainbow Warriors (16-11, 11-11), seeded seventh in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament, are at second-seeded UCLA on Saturday. The Bruins (23-5, 17-5) moved up a spot to No. 3 in the poll.
Top-seeded Brigham Young (23-3, 19-3) remained at No. 1, receiving 13 of the 20 first-place votes. Ohio State ()25-3) stayed at No. 2, with the other seven votes and Long Beach State (22-5, 17-5) matched its tournament seeding when moving to No. 3.
A bye week did not affect Hawaii’s rank as the Rainbow Wahine remained at No. 5 in Monday’s AVCA Collegiate Beach Top 10.
Defending AVCA national champion USC replaced Pepperdine at No. 1 after the Women of Troy (19-2) edged the Waves (15-2) last week 3-2. Florida State (20-1) stayed at No. 3 and UCLA (14-4) at No. 4.

Funny how some of the girls want to be shorter. At least on paper.
Interesting short interview with Brian G., courtesy of Destination Volleyball, up on You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiqlPrlBTfo
He states that LB should have been selected for the NCAA’s last year. In a fairer better world, he’s probably right. He had some words to say about Hawaii as well, he thinks they should have had a higher seed. It may be a bit of a rebuilding year for LB this year, but I expect they’ll be tough competition as always.
Is Tai playing another season of beach as a grad student? If not then I’m wondering why they aren’t honoring her
I think Tai is a Junior in eligibility as far as Beach is concerned. She red-shirted one year.
3-4 Manu-Olevao has left the team, think it was around Easter. Thought I mentioned it.
2. they probably should have been. the NCAA didn’t follow its own criteria when putting in Arizona State last season.
