Warriors fall in 5 at CBU & bit of a rewind

Below is my web story. another disappointing serving night for Hawaii. radio feed kept going out so it was hard to follow but Set 4 was crucial with 2 yellow cards given to UH. first for delay of game at the start then Sedore got another yellow, his second in 3 matches.

Still feel they can make the playoffs but they’re going to have to win out IMHO. UOP and UCSB at home the next two weeks. if they win 4, that puts them at 10-12. then they finish at UCSD for two

UOP is 3-12,  they finish out at UH, host CSUN, LBS & Stanford, at UCSD and UCI, then host BYU & Cal Baptist

UCSB is 8-10, at UH for 2, host BYU, USC and Pepperdine to finish.

Freshman hitter Siki Zarkovic put down 15 kills and sophomore Brook Sedore 14 but it not enough to overcome a second consecutive night of poor serving as No. 10 Hawaii lost to No. 12 Cal Baptist in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball match tonight in Riverside, Calif., 25-14, 24-26, 23-25, 25-21,15-13.

The Warriors (7-14, 6-12 MPSF) committed 27 service errors against the Lancers (10-11, 7-9), five more than they had in Friday’s four-set loss. It was the eight loss in nine road matches this year for Hawaii and added to the school record for five-set matches with No. 12. The Warriors are now 6-6 in five-setters.

Guilherme Koepp and Levi Cabral each had 21 kills for the Lancers. Seabury Hall graduate Rocky DeLyon added six kills and was in on five of the team’s eight blocks.

Hawaii returns home for to host two two-match series with Pacific March 22 and 23, and UC Santa Barbara March 29-30.

This is pretty much the worst series they have had in the MPSF along with the northridge games, losing both matches to these two teams is unacceptable IMO.

It’s a tough league. Everyone is beatable. All you have to do is look at the standings and the results. CBU has beaten some very good teams. As for CSUN, don’t think they are that great but Hawaii played very poortly against he Matadors.
