Warriors back to No. 5 in poll

Hawaii (6-1) went from No. 6 to No. 5, where the Warriors were two weeks ago.
The top three remained the same with UCLA (7-0) a unanimous No. 1 choice followed by Long Beach State (6-1) and BYU (4-2).

Pepperdine losing to winless USC on the road, good news for UH, since UH lost the tie breaker against the waves.

    4. so early that it’s hard to say what the effect will be. UH still needs to play SC
as well as the other 10 teams twice in the MPSF. That’s 20 matches. A lot of VB left to play.
