Warriors – Anteaters rewind Night 2

No question a brutal road trip. Had to be demoralizing to be up 17-11 and 18-13  and lose Set 2. Might have been a lot different going into Set 3. Think they had no gas left in the tank. Affected the serving and the passing. You saw the fatigue early with all those serving errors in Set 1.

Timmer 2-0-5, Sedore 10-4-30, Averill 6-2-6, Marks 5-2-11, Zarkovic 10-7-26, West 1-2-3, Holg 1-2-6 playing in Sets 1 and 3. 2 aces, 12 SEs, 6 blocks, 19 digs, hit .172.

UCI: hit .400, 13.5 blocks, 29 digs, 4 aces, 5 SEs,

Balanced attack. Tillie 10-3-16, Mehring 5-1-9 and 7 blocks, Dejno 7-3-14 in 2 sets, La Cavera 7-3-15. Hughes 6-0-12.

Team will get a well-deserved break. Next up; CSUN March 1.

Well, the worst is over. They should get a few days rest this week and then rev up for a four-match home stand.

Any word on the March 15 Indoor Exhibition Match between Wahine VB team and Texas? Publicity is always almost non-existent for this match based on past years. Is it still on? When will tickets be on sale.

I thought the exhibition match was scheduled for March 11? It can’t be the 15th. Sand Volleyball begins their season with matches on March 15th and 16th and the Men play at home on the 15th and 16th.

Star Advertiser article on January 23 said March 15. “Tickets will go on sale soon for a March 15 exhibition against Texas Tech at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Red Raiders lost two seniors off last year’s 14-18 team.”

Texas isn’t coming in spring. It’s Texas Tech. And, no, haven’t heard anything on tickets. Sorry.

Far as I know, exhibition is March 15. The men are on the road that weekend. at Cal Baptist. Sand is 9:30 a.m. There are 11 sand-only players on the roster. Don’t see that much of a conflict as they move from having the indoor players play both sports. They only need 10 for a sand match, 5 doubles teams.

Sorry my mistake. The men are on the road.
