cindy — normally, the effect on hawaii’s rpi would be a wash, since hawaii played them both. but, since hawaii plays uc irvine twice, the loss gets counted twice.

didnt hawai’i beat them both? and na wahine should be more than capable of beating irvine this next road. so providing that, what affect will it be on rpi of uh?

Looks like Everett Schuett has been added to the 2015 recruiting class at middle hitter.com , interesting. Guess he might be graduating early.

#3. Interesting. He is listed at a 2015 commit, but also at the bottom as a 2016 commit. He is a junior.

wildcard — when since uci plays hawaii twice, then uci’s loss to san diego st gets factored in twice in hawaii’s rpi.

So which two will stay home on the road trip, since Kahakai is back playing ?

  8. LC October 28, 2014 11:14 am

It should be Ponce and Anderson but it’s not up to me.

  9. Cindy Luis October 28, 2014 12:45 pm

    Guinasso and Kahakai traveling

alright! glad to hear Baby G is going as well!!

  11. blunite October 28, 2014 3:53 pm

Happy for Baby G; hope she finds a home where she has a chance to play. Not holding my breath but will the other shoe drop? Taylor Higgins is only a sophomore.

  12. blunite October 28, 2014 4:11 pm

FYI, Halle Aiken, SDSU’s Opposite hitter (ROH), leads the team in attempts (523) and kills (173). Dietre-Collins Parker knows how the game is played.

    6. unless you are saying uh lost to san diego st or irvine but neither is the case. and hopefully it doesnt happen come friday.

    9. looks like shoji kept his promise baby g is going.

now that kahakai is in, na wahine should be stable. and lately there was complaints about service errors and other defense, baby g should gun that and being a beach player should be able to outmaneuver that.

    12. it’s spelled Deitre … UH def. SDSU earlier this year. Aiken was 3-3-7 against the Wahine. so not sure of your point. Unless it’s that UH needs to utilize Taylor more at opposite? Before her injury that was the plan.

  16. Cindy Luis October 28, 2014 10:09 pm

    14. Wouldn’t call it a promise. All he said to me a few weeks ago was that she was going to be on this trip.

wildcard — i’m not sure how much you know about what RPI is comprised of. generally, it’s a formula based on your own win/loss record (25% of the formula), your opponents’ win/loss record (50%), and your opponents’ opponents’ win/loss record (25%).

yes, i know that hawaii has beaten uci and sdsu this season.

uci lost to sdsu. therefore, since hawaii plays uci twice, then uci’s loss to sdsu is factored in twice in the “opponents’ win/loss record” portion of hawaii’s RPI.

  18. wildcard October 29, 2014 2:08 pm

    17. and wouldnt since hawai’i beat sdsu offset the opponent win/loss record?

  19. Cubicle1126 October 29, 2014 2:16 pm

wildcard — see my first post in this thread.
