Hawaii 3, UC Riverside 0
Can see why UCR is 1-11, very small team, couple of players listed at 6-1. That may be generous. this is their 13th and last road match before finally playing at home next week. Only win was 3-1 over Winthrop at the UOP Classic, ending an 8-match skid this year, and 0-10 losing streak dating back to last season. Biggest crowd they’ve played in front of was 1,236 at New Mexico.

Cindy,
Do you know what the freshmen kill record for a match is? I can’t remember another freshmen with 20 kills like Nikki Taylor did.
Hope more people come to see the Wahine play.
1. no. Not sure if they keep that. They’ve had plenty who could have, including Danielson, Kahumoku, Willoughby, etc
Tonight’s starter’s Longo, Vorster, Hartong, Uiato, Taylor, Kastl, Adolpho,
Uiato opens with a 5-0 serving run, 2 aces. TO UC R
UCR not much of an attack other than high ball left. blocked twice. now 10-1. TO UCR
UH 3-0-4, UCR 1-4-9.
Wow. Looks like some records could be set tonight.
UH up 14-3. Goodman and Higgins in on the double sub.
Ace by Hartong ends it 25-7. took 18 minutes, including the 2 timeouts.
Should be an early night for the Wahine. UH has too many weapons. Everybody should play tonight.

UH with its fourth block. up 11-4, TO UCR. Wahine 7-0-12 this set. Uiato had a great one-handed back set to Adolpho on a short slide. Mendoza serving.
UH has already used 14 of its 15 available roster players. only one left is Ponce, It’s 17-7
really good approaches by Long. makes it 21-10. Double subs in.

Hope Nikkie’s numbers are enough for Big West honors
#17, agree with you about the aunties. They are special.
26. we’ll see. she was 6-0-7 tonight
5’6″ and 5’7″ outsides and 6′ middles (generous, looks more like 5’10”), UC Riverside was really overmatched. Taylor just overpowered everyone she faced when she was in (not much). Thought Ginger Long would play more but Kaela Goodman looked good. Much improvement this year, when she is able to play this season.
This hard to take UCR kept shooting themselves in the foot, score tan give back point on service or hitting errors. Wahine won, but I’d hope UCR gets things together for Hawai’i visit later on. It was like set 2 last night, just over 3 set. Go Wahine!
