Micah is setting really great today. I actually have changed my mind about Taylor Averill and think he has a great shot to make the squad in Rio as the third middle, just has to beat out David Smith from UCI, who hasn’t been that remarkable.
Averill showed he’s the best middle in the next tier, in Pan American games and if he keeps improving think he could be in Rio.

I really hope Stanley also gives it one last go as well. Would love to have some former UH players there, since probably won’t have any on the women’s team.

    2. still 2 years away. Stanley has told me he wants to give it another shot but team seems to be trending towards younger players He would be 38 in 2016

Only former Wahine I see with a shot is Hartong. but may be an outside one.

Great win in a hostile environment. Polish fans sure love volleyball.
I still think Clay has it in him despite his age, like his serve alone would help the US a ton.

Tomorrrow’s game against Serbia starts at 5 am hawaii time yikes.

I wonder if any recruits are coming this weekend. Usually have some recruits visit the week UCLA comes to town.

Last I heard Emily Hartong said her shoulder still hurts after swinging. Been 6 months on Sept 6. Evidently Kanani had a shoulder surgery too, when I don’t know but, she said she’s still hurting too, this was earlier this month. Maybe we won’t see her hitting Sept 17, backrow only.

    8. Taking too many swings in their careers, just like a pitcher in baseball. The arm, elbow or shoulder will give out. Sometimes the legs, feet, ankles or knees too.
I think the coaches should watch out for this overuse, just like the baseball coaches supposedly do.
