Dave stopped off in Chicago to watch his sons and take in the matches on his way to the AAU National Championships for some recruiting, his daughter now lives in Florida, hubby a coach at Florida. Kinda makes you wonder about the use of funds earmarked for recruiting.

Nasty comment LC. Please go back to what you do best, providing inside information that has substance.

Oh please Ron nothing nasty there. Just saying that because of the pickle UH is in it might raise eyebrows for some. Fans have started questioning Ben Jay’s spending on frills on his trips and weather some of his trips are even necessary.

it doesn’t make me wonder.. Yours seem to be the only eyebrows raised. He was scheduled to go to the AAUs as he has always done. It happened to coincide with Chicago this time.
He has so many frequent flier miles that many flights are covered. He also does deserve some vacation time, no?
As for his daughter … not sure if they are in Florida at the moment. She is expecting baby No. 2 and they were going on vacation. But if you want to discuss conspiracy that the AAUs were scheduled (over a year ago) in the same state that daughter’s husband took a job (a few months ago) go ahead.

If you know anything about Shoji, you know that he is very budget conscious. it’s part of the reason that they play back to back road matches, to save on money that a day in between would cost. It’s part of the reason UH hosts mostly Fri-Sat. Shoji has said it’s better for the fans, ergo, it’s better ticket sales, making some money for the department.
