Rawson, Shoji brothers named to FIVB roster

As promised by coach Speraw earilier, he is going with young players for this first international tournament. Kawika Shoji (s), Erik Shoji (l) and Matt Rawson (mb) make 12-man roster.

The U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team, ranked No. 5 in the world by the FIVB, took second at the 2012 FIVB World League with a 12-man Final Round team with an average age of 31.1. The average age of the 22-man roster for the 2013 FIVB World League is 27.1. If you remove Rich Lambourne (Tustin, Calif.) and David Lee (Alpine, Calif.) – the only two veterans on the roster from the 2008 U.S. Team that won World League and the Olympic gold medal – the average age drops to 25.7. Opposite Clay Stanley (Honolulu), a three-time Olympian and 2008 Most Valuable Player in Beijing, will miss World League this year,
