Rainbow Wahine at No. 17 in preseason poll

Low for them but not surprising
Lowest ever ranking since the poll started. previous preseason poll low was 16 in 1993 as they came off the worst season in program history (15-12) and didn’t make the postseason for the first time every.
Anyway …

1. Penn State 32 votes
2. Texas 11
3. Stanford 7
4. Washington
5. USC 2
6. Wisconsin

Looking at the poll, top 8 teams from the last poll are the top 8 teams from this one

Based on the preseason poll, not many top ranked teams on the Wahine schedule.

Fall of the Wahine a Dean Kaneshiro/Ryan Kalei Tsuji sequel. 😉

surprised that penn st was the preseason #1. i know they have tradition and a great incoming recruiting class. but they lose so much from last year’s championship team. the teams chasing them, also lost some, but return a quality core of players, especially stanford (who’s own great recruiting class from a couple years ago may see their potential fulfilled this season).

Cindy, how did practice go this morning. Or, was it just a little to early for you. Just joking. I presume they will be having 2 practices today. Will you be attending the 2nd one, if they are.

LC, and here I thought you said you hated to be a Debbie Downer.

Steven, yes, i went to practice. I have gone to 6 a.m. practices for years, although I’m not always at the very beginning. Your joking is not amusing..
Yes, they have 2 a days.
but having to write about Alan Kang’s death has put practice update on hold.

    3. as mentioned, the top 8 are the same from last year’s top 8. just switched in order. Penn State had a great recruiting class. don’t think the coaches did a lot of research. The usual suspects as usual.
