Well, both semifinals are over and both Irvine and BYU won in three straight sets. The match was closer between Irvine and Loyola Chicago with the first and third sets going to extended play and lots of score ties. BYU pretty much dominated Penn State. Toward the end of the third set there were long and exciting rallies. Match point was the longest rally of all. All in all, pretty fun matches to watch. So now it will be BYU vs. Irvine on Saturday. Was surprised to hear that Ben Patch, freshman of the year, will be gone two years on a religious mission service abroad. So UH won’t see him when BYU comes to play next year on our home court.
