BYU-Stanford going five. The Cardinal held off 3 match points to win Set 4 29-27

When Hawaii won the national championship over a decade ago, the team had previously lost to Pepperdine three times but won when it counted the most. Now Stanford can replicate the feat as two BYU players are hurting, Hatch and Sanders.

Well, all those UH fans who had hoped and predicted that Stanford would beat BYU were right and got their wish. BYU looked too battered in the final moments and Sanders really looked beat and exhausted at the end of the fifth set. He couldn’t carry the team alone. Unlike Stanford, there was no even distribution of kills. They sorely missed Ben Patch who was out on a mission and it cost them a shot at the national championship.

Looked like Stanford player took out at least one BYU player when crossing under the net and stepping on a foot.

If you think I buy the good neighbor attitude. I think Hawai’i lacked size on certain matches and therefore missed the MPSF. Namely Joby Ramos is leaving and how about Kolby Kanetake? Are they keeping Kendrick Mol 6-6 tall or how about Davis Holt, could be used as a backup 6-9 tall out of Hilo, Hawai’i. What’s going on with the setup? They just missed the MPSF. Why are they playing again? Going with BYU all the way.

Are you saying Davis Holt is from Hilo, Hawaii? Stop talking already.
