Moving on to Friday, PSU upset, Adolpho still with basketball

Heading out to the arena in a bit.

Fullerton at Hawaii, 7 p.m. HST

Will update more Top 25 scores when I get there but …

At University Park, PA. Big Ten opener for both

No. 15 Michigan State (12-2) def. No. 1 Penn State (9-2) 25-23, 26-24, 19-25, 19-25, 15-9

Likely buried on the other thread. Someone questioned why Adolpho wasn’t on the basketball roster yesterday. Simple answer: It hadn’t been updated until until today

One last comment regarding Toyota. Don’t think it was brought up was that I don’t believe Hawaii had film on the Japanese team, which they do when they play NCAA teams. not sure if Toyota had film on Hawaii. It was meant to be an exhibition and UH’s focus Tuesday was their normal ‘work on skills’ coming off a day off. Their focus was on the Big West teams this week

What you did see was some nice in-game adjustment by the Wahine and coaching staff. The Toyota libero had 11 digs in Set 1, 2 in Set 2. Feel in direct correlation to the Wahine doing some shot-altering UH with a 2-0 block advantage in Set 1, 4-2 in Set 2. UH also started diversifying its offense in Set 2. which they could have have (lost 26-24). Hartong was 5-0-14 in set 1, 1-1-4 in Set 2.

Still it should take nothing away from the amazing performance by Takeda, 4-0-10 Set 1, 7-0-10 Set 2, 5-2-10 Set 3. She was fun to watch.

UCLA won’t help the rpi much this season, they will have many losses in pac 12 play.

Just to clarify something about Big West TV.

There is no one platform like the MWC, Pac 12 or Big 10 has. Each school does their on live stats and live streams and the Big West just puts it all together in one place on their web site and they call it Big West TV.

They have this one guy Steve Chen who is the Director of New Media & Marketing that runs the whole show by himself. On game days he’s in contact with all of his counterparts at each school when there is a game going on letting them know about problems and helping them get fixed.
