UH is offering mini packs for football and women’s volleyball, which go on sale Monday, July 21.

For women’s volleyball, fans can  choose any six matches throughout the regular season.

For football, the mini pack includes either the Washington or Oregon State game; the Northern Iowa game; and two of the four Mountain West games.

Mini packs will be available for purchase online at HawaiiAthletics.com, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Prices start at $60.

Seats are in select sections at Aloha Stadium and the upper level in the Stan Sheriff Center.

Football and women’s volleyball season tickets are still on sale. Fans will no longer have the option to pick their own seats online. However, they may still do so by speaking with a UH ticket office representative at 944-BOWS (2697) or visiting the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office.

Yep. only 16 as of the first summer school session. would not be surprised to see at least one more added during second session.
    Heavy on the L/DS

Stay dry & safe out there.

A little heavy on L/DS, but five is not uncommon for Shoji. He usually carries four or five, sometimes more.
2006 – 6 (Lee, Woolford, Ong, Kitaguchi, Duggins, Recca)
    2007 – 5 (Lee, Woolford, Kitaguchi, Duggins, Ka’aihue)
    2008 – 5 (Lee, Ka’aihue, Hittle, Maeda, Prather)
    2009 – 6 (Lee, Ka’aihue, Maeda, Kam, Robins, Griffiths)
    2010 – 4 (Ka’aihue, Maeda, Kam, Griffiths)
2011 – 6 (Maeda, Kam, Griffiths, Kawamura, Lelepali, Blake)
2012 – 8 (Maeda, Kam, Kawamura, Lelepali, Longo, Mendoza, Spieler, Ponce)
2013 – 5 (Kawamura, Lelepali, Longo, Mendoza, Ponce)
2014 – 5 (Mendoza, Ponce, Kahakai, Anderson, Guinasso)

*** Fans will no longer have the option to pick their own seats online? That makes no sense, I wonder what the reasoning is behind that ?

  6. LC July 20, 2014 7:28 am

*** Avca tweets Aug 11th Preseason Poll comes out. Isn’t that also the first day of fall practice for the Wahine ?

    4. true but in the case of 12, 3 of those redshirted: Mendoza, Spieler, Ponce.

#5 … also removed for football season tickets. Seems like a great new feature that was removed.

since there still seems to be parking available at the stadium, how about a special parking area for those fans who support BOTH football and wahine volleyball and will try to attend both games on those conflicting days? if they can show tickets to attend both games, a special parking area to help get them from one game to another, whether it be to leave the stadium early or arrive late would help to acknowledge the fans that continue to support UH athletics despite the crazy scheduling.

    5. I think it’s for practical reasons. People are now picking and choosing seats in the mini packs, meaning that certain seats are not available for all matches. Which is why they say to call the box office rather than have people clicking on the same seat for every match or game to see if it’s available for the entire season for a season ticket.

    7. A couple of DSs will always redshirt under Shoji, unless they’ve used up their redshirt season. In 2006, all six DSs played. This year, it’s possible that both Anderson and Guinasso will redshirt, leaving just three on the active roster. In any case, it’s not unusual for Shoji to have five DSs on the active roster.

  13. Cindy Luis July 20, 2014 11:16 pm

The observation was that it was heavy on the L/DS, didn’t say it was unusual.
agree that several likely to redshirt.
As for 06, Recca played in 1 set, Ong 10, Kitaguchi 13 of the 128 sets.

    14. Agreed, but five DSs is not “heavy” by UH standards. It would actually be shocking if no DSs tried out. As for those players you mentioned, they still played, didn’t they? I remember Ong saying she thought she would never go in, was OK being a practice player. Realistically, people like Ponce, Guinasso and Anderson aren’t really expecting to be the next libero or the next big primary DS.
