How sad, not even radio.
what are you talking about.
gave you the links for radio
There is but it’s going in and out and very annoying
http://player.listenlive.co/27961
I cant believe Long is starting
Already 3 service errors
Higgins falls down.
4. yep, i think there’s a bit of fatigue out there. tough turnaround, some tired legs. Adolpho just blocked as well
St. John’s up 15-11 at the TTO, St. John’s hitting 333, UH 087
5. Higgins tripped by Adolpho
UH so far. Awful passing, setting, serving, hitting.
I guess it’s early.
are you here or just going by stats?
Adolpho blocked again. They’ve gone with Koelsch
Put in Maglio for Adolpho
St. John’s up 22-15. TO UH
Nope I’m seeing with my Maka’s. Last St. john’skill. Right over Long
SJ Leftside hitting deep. Uh no coverage. Manu is playing back center not really floating. Passes are not crisp or fast. Just floaty.
St. John’s up 23-17. TO SJ
Ovah.
Huff would negate the Leftsides better.
St. John’s wins 25-19, Red Storm hit 250, UH 067
UH looks tired.
IMHO Kalei A needs to get some offense going to motivate the team.
Long down the line from the right. UH up 10-6. TO SJ
theres longs high velocity swing
Given up on streaming radio. Even my cheapy clock radio comes in better.
there we go wahine make them retreat. pounce block
Scott’s wearing shorts. Higgins seems off. Magill is awesome. HI is better than this team; it really should win this match.
uh up 14-8. TO SJ
2. Found station 1500 AM. Sure sounds exciting, announcer going get sore throat
after the match.
I believe if you have OCEANIC, radio feed is on channel 885. Shouldn’t be choppy there.
Wow. Looks like the Wahine have found their 2nd wind.
Much better in set two, glad Adolpho is now hitting positive. Lets get baby G in there again. Not sure why she hasn’t played. The serving sub rotation is perplexing.
There you go, Baby G’s serve usually puts the other team in trouble.
good job long fire that fine gun of yours
UH wins 25-15
baby g is the wahines gunner behind the serve
wahine get ready for next set. divide their block and conquer. defend your aina
Wanna see Huff in there.
does shoji let the bows strafe when they warmup/practice passing?
UH up 12-9. TO SJ. Magill connecting well with Higgins, who continues to serve tough
keep it up bows. prepare to defend any counterattack
38. I am a little surprised by the lineup but they have found a rhythm so maybe doesn’t want to mess with it
UH up 16-12. TO SJ
Stats say taylor is in. Is this true Cindy?
39. don’t understand your question
What’s this, Nikki playing – she set a ball for Magill, per stats.
Well well new thread finally showed up on the home page of the SA
mistake, Nikki wasn’t in
obviously live stats are wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened.
47. well, well, don’t know what to tell you. I’m not in charge
Manu-Olevao blocked. St. John’s has closed to 19-17. TO UH
Too many errors for Tai still. She just hits the ball way too low still. Needs to contact it at higher point.
44. no Taylor not playing. she’s in warmups on the sideline
Like other wahine teams this team will probably play better on the road.lot of pressure on them at home
too bad you folks couldn’t see the dig by Mendoza and the save by Higgins. Magill eventually with the point.
think the linesmen missed what looked like an ace by Higgins. Olevao has been skying on the right. it’s 24-20
Greeley with the stuff, UH wins 25-20
too close for comfort bows. prepare to finish the next set
55. that rally was awesome. yeah linesman werent paying attention it seems
55 i saw it
blocking has been a highlight, 14 blocks in 3 sets.
hawaii also hitting for a better percentage … .270+ so far. in prior matches, the team hitting has usually been stuck in the .100s … even when they’ve been winning.
magill 12k to lead the team, hitting over .500 …
Battery almost pau time to go.
Long hits out, then gets blocked.
and all 3 teams this weekend will be good for the RPI, even with the loss to oregon.
So who’s playing on the right side ?
islandman — long has been playing opposite
Long on the right at the moment
St. John’s up 6-2. UH was a little sloppy to start
Koelsch and Huff both in. SJ up 9-3
double sub in now. koelsch/hufff in … for long/higgins
need to generate something hawaii is down 2-8 in set 4. gotta end it here, and not let this go to another 5th set
Maglio in for Adolpho. 3 freshmen in the front with Greeley, Maglio and Huff, Koelsch makes it 4
Maglio in ?
adolpho blocked …. maglio is in now
4th set is getting away from wahine … sju up 12-3 …
c’mon wahine!
Maglio and Huff on the block. Wahine add to their season high with the 17th. SJ up 11-6. TO Red Storm
Huff with the block. Young uns in.
71. it was never 12-3.
bout time shoji did something i guess forget mobility. bring in an all armored force. hard to get past that many tanks
Live stats are MESSED up. Score update Cindy.
what, no please? UH has closed to 14-12. TO SJ
thanks cindy — then live stats and also the play-by-play on live state are way off.
c’mon wahine … time for a run of points
Sorry lol.
I was thinking there was no way the wahine would be down 12-3
Long with the kill. ties it at 15
St. John’s with 2 points, it’s 17=15. TO UH
why timeout shoji? bring back in your armored force
hawaii with 18 blocks … that’s nice to see!
Magill with her 15th. UH up 22-20
dig deep
Magill solo stuff. it’s 24-20
Long ends it 25-20
16 kills, 12 blocks , .538 hitting percentage for Olivia. She is a Superstar!
Good one. Too bad Passi couldn’t get in a little. Everyone else got in.
Magill all tourney team, i hope this time .
good job bows! good hussle.
tough turnaround in a potentially ‘trap match’ … blocking tonight was impressive. magill was impressive.
still not impressive are the slow starts, and the service errors.
but a gritty win, that forced the team to dig deep for the 2nd match in a row. it’s the kind of hectic/tiring schedule that can mimic road matches later in the season as well.
not the best play on tired legs, but the team did finish hitting a very respectable .248 for the match.
I like our freshmen Greeley more than any other freshmen OH i’ve seen so far except maybe the PSU Frantti. I’d take Greeley over UCLA’s freshmen greek OH, and Florida’s oh Snyder and Washington’s Scambray.
Over Oregon’s freshmen oh too.
one thing though, why didnt shoji bring in his all armored battlegroup yesterday vs oregon??
if your reserves are not mobile enough, bring onto the court all your tanks
88. Magill 15-1-26, 12 BAs. .538. nice line
Gotta go write. be back later
yes, more and more … we’re seeing that greeley was a great get on recruiting. and she’s proving to be better than the #35 ranking given to her on senior aces.
Yep, Tawa shortchanged another of the wahine recruits yet again. Snyder, Scambray, Shebby all ranked way ahead of her but I wouldn’t trade any of them over her.
Good to hear about the gritty win…I sure hope Magill and Greeley make the All tournament team…
watching oregon vs n mexico. one maneuver wahines could try is a low pass dig to the setter hitting the net and setter setting it from on her knees. could confuse blockers. again risky since it utilizes the net and probably difficult to pull and thats only if absolutely necessary
set 2 though down a set unm seems to handle uo 14-10 including riddling an ace
^with uo no tol retreating
Greeley at 35 ranked higher than shebby at 44.
Tossup =Msrpantoja1, huh, Ingoodstanding and countless other names.
meant Agost not Shebby, but I’d take Greeley over Shebby too.
100. I don’t really care if Tawa always shortchanges the Hawai’i rankings, especially now considering that Castillo at #61. Sometimes there is another level that those young girls won’t get to, it is important to find which ones will and their ranking is irrelevant.
The posts were altered, that last comment was to 101, not 100.
1 set apiece
1 set apiece 26-24
If UH wins the Big West, Magill will most definitely win POY; Greeley, FOY, and a couple others All-Conference.
107. no im none of those. no idea where you think that
Oregon pulls it out against New Mexico, 25-118, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19
I’m really happy with this team with the newcomers integrated with the veterans although the veterans could be considered new, also. But please, folks, this is just preseason and Shoji needs to see all of his players under fire in game situations and I like that he has given Long a chance to prove or redeem herself such that if Greely does start which she just did, then Long cannot really complain but I believe this team will “jell” as all the pieces are there for them to win the Big West. And for you naysayers, geezus, stop harping on Taylor…she makes a mistake and some of you are all over her….give her time to acclimate her serves with the new players esp. with Olivia Magil and others……anyway, this preseason schedule will only help and benefit the wahines when they start their first road trip and esp. today’s game after coming back from a tough five game loss to Oregon last nite and then having to play a St. John’s team just waiting to upset the wahines but the wahines were resilient and pulled it out….congrats to these wahines and esp. to D. Shoji and his coaching staff…also, isn’t it just great that Ali Longo is there helping out with the DS personnel also….and what about that Kalihi girl, Kahakai…….she’s a winner………cheers!!
116…well said!
Who is on the all tournament team?
So who made all tourney team? My picks for UH would be Magill and Greeley
Olivia was tourney MVP and Tai made the team also
Tai and Olivia named to all tourney team. Magill Most Outstanding Player..really she’s the MOP ?
Why not, Olivia had the best stats out of anyone the entire weekend. Brenner had a nice match against Hawaii but awful against St johns and New Mexico.
Greeley really deserved it over Tai, greeley is hitting a nice percentage, Tai not so much, although still improved from last year.
So Huff didn’t start & was not first off the bench in place of Long?
I was referring to what they call it Most Outstanding Player but I guess it went over your head think about it..mop ? It should be MVP.
Hey warriorfan you got good eyes. IMO Greeley looks like a veteran out there. She may not be overpowering but she gets the job done. She will be so valuable with just her presence and demeanor on the court. Just watch how her posture and stance is in the backrow at 6’2. She bends at her knees and passes most of her serve receives just as well as our liberos. Magill, no question we are so fortunate to have her…Her blocking and jumping quickness just demands our other middles and front row players to elevate their game too. She can be unstoppable when the timing is perfect or good enough from any setter.
Da Wahine Keiki Korps getting it done. LETS GO BOWS.
was there really a problem with finding the new thread? a number of people didn’t have a problem.
116 Very well said. Long term success of the team requires that we have both the bigger freshmen -but also the smaller quicker players needed to win in the Big West. For those overtly critical posters who demand instant perfection and gratification, there is always “fantasy volleyball” – where all their dreams can come true instantly with a push of a button. For those of us in the real world, watching these players mature is really the best part of being a wahine fan.
As someone posted, Magill was playing in beast mode. Just set her every ball when possible.
