  31. warriorfan March 8, 2015 7:30 pm

Siki 3 straight errors to end that set?? SMH

  35. Brandon March 8, 2015 7:46 pm

Is sedore sick cindy? He seems to be struggling tonight and someone on VT mentioned flu like symptoms

  36. warriorfan March 8, 2015 7:50 pm

These service errors are killing me.

  37. Brandon March 8, 2015 7:51 pm

Pepperdine back within one point. COME ON UH, please don’t lose this lead

  38. warriorfan March 8, 2015 7:51 pm

OK this choking thing needs to stop, come on UH.

  39. Cindy Luis March 8, 2015 7:52 pm

This would be a complete collapse if they can’t pull this one out.
To be fair, another bad call went against Hawaii. Zarkovic appeared to get a touch on his attack, and the far linesman (same one that missed the ace call) signaled touch but then when asked by the up ref, said no.
    Hartley blocked. it’s 12-12

  40. Brandon March 8, 2015 7:53 pm

Davis holt may not be an offensive threat, but he sure makes up for it in his block. His block saves matches at times

  41. warriorfan March 8, 2015 7:54 pm

    Another service error, unbelievable.

  42. WaWa March 8, 2015 7:54 pm

Why did Charlie wait til score was 12-11 to call a TO? He should’ve stopped the momentum earlier. Lets go Warriors ONE MORE POINT!

  43. Cindy Luis March 8, 2015 7:55 pm

Holt with a solo, gives Hawaii another match point at 14-12.
Franciskovic with a a service error. it’s 14-13 TO UH

  44. Cindy Luis March 8, 2015 7:55 pm

    Zarkovic with the kill. 15-13

  45. surfboy March 8, 2015 7:56 pm

    Thank goodness! A Win!

  46. WaWa March 8, 2015 7:56 pm

Man, I wish this match was at least streamed online!

  47. Brandon March 8, 2015 8:05 pm

Hawaii had 22 service errors. WAY too much. Also, they need to maintain leads. When its time to close out, this team has a tendency to falter. But none the less, great win tonight!

  48. Cindy Luis March 8, 2015 8:20 pm

Great win. Hawaii tied for first with UC Irvine.
7 aces, 22 SEs, 4 in Set 5. the Waves with 4 aces, 14 SEs.

  49. Cindy Luis March 8, 2015 8:22 pm

    47. yes, bottom line, they pulled out a win. have won 8 straight.

  50. warriorfan March 8, 2015 8:27 pm

Winning the regular season is so key, not only for hosting privileges in the MPSF tourney but it would assure UH a bid to the national tournament. This win was HUGE!!!!

  51. K-Bay March 8, 2015 9:00 pm

    Tough WIN
Swings to Win in Game 4 And 5…And The WIN…came through Both Nights — improved from UCI and USC… and TIED for FIRST in MPSF…

I would like to think / believe that the flu week had significant impact on all the service errors, uncharacteristic hitting errors and missed digs… That a Healthy Warrior Team (down the road, in the playoffs) will perform at a better level…

  52. warriorfan March 8, 2015 9:08 pm

Who was sick? was it Brook? He has been uncharacteristically error prone lately.
I am surprised the entire team doesn’t take flu shots before the season begins,

  53. warriorfan March 8, 2015 11:11 pm

I hope the warriors move up to the top 4 in the next poll and the wahine sandbows to number 1.

  54. 'ohanaInBellingham March 9, 2015 5:03 am

Congratulations to the coaching staff this weekend for their courage to make changes in order to beat a very senior team!

Hartley makes me smile every time he’s on the court. I don’t know why. What a performance last night!

Congratulations to the fans who showed up last night and were treated to a great match. How did it compare to the USC matches?

    Mahalo for the color, Cindy.

  55. Tenmpmanoa March 9, 2015 7:42 am

Two great matches against a very talented and typically huge yet athletic team coached by Marv Dumphy who has some recent national championships to show for it. Hawaii did it with heart and chemistry and using its own talent smartly. Wade’s changes in the blocking schemes both nights and use of personell helped make a difference. The heart and focus of the team though got them the win– especially in match like yesterday (that drew a nice crowd).

  56. Cindy Luis March 9, 2015 8:17 am

    54. thought the atmosphere with SC and Pepperdine very similar. Very loud. Definitely a different crowd than the large one at women’s basketball, which was very good as well. but just a different feel.

  57. Cindy Luis March 9, 2015 8:31 am

    55. Had a nice chat with Dunphy prior to Sunday. He’s 67, said he’ll keep coaching for as long as he can relate to his players. Really intelligent guy
    Pepperdine’s titles (not all that recent) came in 78, 85, 86, 98, 05.

  58. vbfan4life March 9, 2015 9:01 am

rank #4 now =) with one #1 vote by UCI head coach who interestingly likes to continue to undersell his team and rank themselves at #7. Go Bows!
