UH on an 9-0 run. was 15-7. broadcaster trying to make excuses for the Beach, saying well Hampton not 100 percetner. it’s 16-9

  3. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:25 pm

with Longo serving, UH up 21-11. TO Beach. Can’t believe Gimmillaro arguing about the ball was clearly being outiside the antenna.

    UH up 16-4. TO Beach.

  11. Warrior Dave October 4, 2013 5:44 pm

I wonder if LBSU is a young team? Not what I expected. Wahine are focused and want to end this early.

  12. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:44 pm

    UH hitting .455. 24-4-44. 49ers negative 022. 10-12-45

  13. Michael October 4, 2013 5:45 pm

UH looking awesome! On the telecast, at the beginning of the 49er early timeout in set 2, the camera showed Shoji calling over security and a policeman. He seemed to be pointing into the stands. Robyn was standing and watching all this. Hmmmm.

  14. Warrior Dave October 4, 2013 5:45 pm

    P.S. I love it!!!

  15. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:46 pm

not trusting the stats completely. they have Ponce listed as playing. don’t think so.

  16. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:48 pm

    49ers on a bit of run. 18-10 but Hartong with her 8th. it’s 19-10

  17. Warrior Dave October 4, 2013 5:49 pm

The male announcer sounds like Dash in OC16. Thought it was Hawaii announcers for awhile.

LBSU waking up. Let’s Go Wahine!!!!

  18. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:52 pm

A couple of UH overpasses has helped the beach close to 22-16. TO UH

  19. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:55 pm

IT was 22-12. Now 22-19. with a stuff of Hartong. TO UH

  20. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 5:57 pm

UH with the block, wins it 25-21.

  21. jmy October 4, 2013 5:58 pm

Set 2 was closer than it should have been…

  22. grace October 4, 2013 6:00 pm

Olevao needs to play with confidence….very inconsistent….will have a tougjh time agsinst the bigger blocks cause she tends to hit down as she is coming down…where is Kastl?

  23. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:01 pm

    UH hitting 279, 1 ace, 2 SEs, 22 digs, 7 blocks
    Taylor 6-2-12, Vorster 5-1-7, Manu-Olevao 6-6-14, Hartong 10-1-22, Adolpho 4-0-8,
    49ers .050, 0 aces, 3 SE, 6 blocks, 18 digs

  24. Beauston October 4, 2013 6:01 pm

I only see the game tracker and it looks like Tai is struggling again with 6 out of Wahine’s 12 errors with 0 hitting percent.
I would probably start Kastl on set 3

  25. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:05 pm

FSW did a nice little story on Shoji. He got asked how much longer. Shoji said it won’t be 10 years but maybe 2 or 3 more. He gave a lot of credit to the fans and the move to the arena as part of the success.

  26. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:06 pm

    25. as for Manu-Olevao, couple of her errors came when she tried to avoid the 6-6 Hampton and hit long. but I could see Kastl coming in. we’ll see.

  27. LC October 4, 2013 6:06 pm

LBSU has the momentum going into set three,Wahine will need to really tighten it up.

  28. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:11 pm

Interesting Beach calls a timeout trailing 3-1. Taylor from the left, then from the right

  29. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:14 pm

Great dig by Longo keeps it alive, Manu-Olevao with 2 kills, then a block. UH up 7-2 behind Longo serving.

  30. Beauston October 4, 2013 6:15 pm

    Somebody needs to stop Okpala

  31. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:16 pm

UH in the same rotation that got them in trouble but NV on the Beach has helped UH to a 8-6 lead

  32. Beauston October 4, 2013 6:18 pm

Last year they were saying how tough the fans were at the Pyramid yelling and screaming at the girls. Can anyone tell?

  33. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:19 pm

Hartong with her 11th. UH up 13-8

  34. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:22 pm

Taylor with her 10th. Manu-Olevao has 10, Hartong 14. it’s 18-11 on vorster on the overpass.

  35. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:23 pm

Hartong’s serve giving the Beach all sorts of problems It’s 20-11. TO Beach.

  36. LC October 4, 2013 6:25 pm

Doing what they needed to do taking away the momentum and controlling the set.

  37. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:27 pm

Tuaniga in for Vorster, Kawamura serving well. Taylor hits long. it’s 22-15. Taylor with the kill. 23-15.

  38. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:28 pm

    Kastl also in. it’s 24-15.

  39. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:29 pm

Tuaniga on the slide, ends it 25-16.

  40. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 6:31 pm

back in a bit. announcers thought it was a ‘national title type performance by UH’

  41. Beauston October 4, 2013 6:32 pm

Early on the season Cal Poly might be the team to watch for.

  42. jmy October 4, 2013 6:32 pm

Great consistent win for UH…I like to see the Beach lose because they’ve always been a cocky team, even when they haven’t been that good…

  43. Beauston October 4, 2013 6:33 pm

40 definitely not a national type of broadcast though as he murdered through Tai’s, Hartong, and Wahine’s pronounciations

  44. LC October 4, 2013 6:40 pm

The way Hampton kept falling down and limping I felt that she shouldn’t have been out there.

  45. grace October 4, 2013 6:46 pm

Amazing Holly McPeak actually says we are a national contender and can compete st the same level of Penn St etc. She ended the show by saying Hawaii has something SPECIAL! (Duh!)

  46. LC October 4, 2013 6:51 pm

I wonder if the Wilmes girl is thinking maybe I made a mistake picking LBS over Hawai`i .

  47. vbfan October 4, 2013 6:56 pm

Long Beach completely outclassed. Must have been embarrassing to have Misty May in the house for the game.

#46, eh I doubt it. She probably has a better chance of playing time at Long Beach anyway.

  48. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 7:02 pm

    32. Have found the 49er fans to always be a bit obnoxious.
    47. May likely very disappointed in watching her former team play. A really great setter.
    46. Was Hawaii that serious about Wilmes anyway?
And for those keeping score at home
UH used all 14 players on the travel roster, which included Kawamura.
LC agree about Hampton being out there 4-3-11 1 BS, 2 BA

  49. Ashley October 4, 2013 7:02 pm

#44. i couldn’t agree more. i was shocked that they kept her in so much. in the third, she definitely looked like she was in a bit of pain. as a coach BG shouldn’t have played her, she looks like she is still nursing that injury. understandably you wanna win against your rival in the conference but BG should think about his players health instead of trying to win the match.

other than that i thought Hawaii did a very decent job at winning this match. taylor continues to impress me.

  50. LanaiBoy October 4, 2013 7:03 pm

The announcers said that Hawaii was a great blocking team. Actually, Dave Shoji is quoted as saying Hawaii is a poor blocking team and its national blocking stats show it to be so. However, the block showed up big tonight. Hope this is a harbinger of the future. If Hawaii can improve its blocking significantly, it will definitely be in the running for a national championship this season as Holly McPeak suggests.

  51. Purple&Gold October 4, 2013 7:04 pm

    Oh please!!
    @@

  52. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 7:05 pm

    50. The announcers have seen Hawaii just once, tonight, and they had a good performance.
Shoji has said prior to tonight that they aren’t a great blocking team. It’s one of the things they do need to improve on.

  53. vbfan October 4, 2013 7:12 pm

The block was so good since Long Beach had no middle attack so they could just camp on the outside.

  54. Purple&Gold October 4, 2013 7:13 pm

    Wahines WILL lose 10/24/13.

BG, resigned to the fact that there’s no hope for this 2013 campaign, WILL be dangerous
    11/2/13 also.

Now Stanford/$C on the tube showcased some ‘T’alent.

  55. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 7:22 pm

    53. don’t know if you watched the match on TV, if not, you’d know that UH had a number of blocks on the 49er middles. it wasn’t just camping on the outsides

  56. Cindy Luis October 4, 2013 7:22 pm

    anyway, new rewind thread started
