    WSU swept ASU…

  2. warriorfan October 11, 2015 12:20 pm

ASU should be out of the top 10.

This is ASU’s 2nd lost this weekend. So, maybe Hawaii will move up the AVCA poll come Monday. But first Hawaii has to take care of business today against the Beach. GO BOWS!!

Waiting on UCLA at Colorado…could be another upset, though this one may damage UH’s RPI…

  5. Warriorfan October 11, 2015 12:32 pm

    The bruins swept colorado already.

  6. jmy October 11, 2015 12:34 pm

I guess Colorado ran out of gas…

It should be noted that ASU had to finish the UW match & play the WSU match without their senior OH kill leader…

Ohio State may leapfrog Hawaii in the AVCA rankings with wins over ILL (13) and NW on the road. Hawaii is likely to stay put. ASU lost in three straight sets to WSU on the road. ASU’s Macey Gardner DNP and injured her leg in Friday’s match against WASH @ Seattle. Both PSU and ASU have lost their top performers.

No one mentioned that USC continues to roll with a sweep of Utah.

Several fans have mentioned the left-leg injury to last week’s National POW from ASU, Macey Gardner. It happened in the second set of the 0-3 loss to Washington, and she was kept out of the match against Washington State. Early tweets say it is more serious than a sprain, but have to wait till the team returns to Tempe for x-ray results. Remember: ASU was picked to finish 2nd to Stanford in the Preseason Pac-12 Coaches Poll, and we all know what happened to Inky.

Congrats to Northwestern — just the 9th win for Northwestern in 57 meetings between the teams, and the first since 2002. Not seeing any serious injury reports to Haleigh Washington or Courtney of PSU, but if they are saying PSU suffered a serious injury to one of its star players, I’ll take your word for it.

    GO BOWS!

does any one have an up date on Oregon @ Stanford? Match was tied at 1-1. A Cardinal loss will open the door for Hawaii to move up a notch provided they beat the Beach. IDN believe ASU will drop beyond #6. However, the lady sun devils are in LA next week to face USC and UCLA. ASU without their AA Macey Gardner are very vulnerable.

from the ‘people bitchin/complaining/moaning about rpi or hawai’i gets no respect’ department:

according to debbie stadick kniffin, ms. knows naught about volleyball

    http://avcavolleyball.blogspot.com/

scroll down to see her says about hawai’i (in the beach at #8 hawai’i)

“Potential weakness: struggling (slightly) in serve receive against big arms
Perceived strengths: defense of any sort
Game changers: the do-it-all awesomeness of Nikki Taylor (Jr., OPP)”

    “Matchup
Long Beach State dropped out of the top-25 rankings after suffering an upset at the hands of Cal Poly. Oops. The 49ers really struggled to side out, and subsequently crumpled into a pile of awful. Their three primary attackers—Barber along with Ashley Murray (So., MH) and Carly Beddingfield (Fr., OH)—couldn’t put a ball down. I think this cringe-worthy performance was an anomaly, and Long Beach State will remember how to play volleyball this week. Not saying they’ll win—Hawaii is blazing through conference play and looking like a triple threat (think big-time blocking, feisty defense and laser-sharp serving). Make that quadruple threat: Hawaii has serious home-court advantage (thanks to the fans). I think they’ll take this one, but I expect Long Beach State to show up and fight hard.

    My Pick: Hawai’i in four”

dunno if that constitutes as hawai’i getting respect from avca other than ‘duh, hawai’i is #8’ or when ‘ms. chief women’s volleyball blogger for the avca’ says this, its supposed to be some kind of bachi.

    well if any, deflect bachi.
