From the WHO CARES Department:
Even if Na Wahine should sweep its opponents this weekend, UH could still drop in the NCAA’S RPI for playing against nontricked-out opponents with RPIs of 239 and 299! So let’s see if the Bows’ nonconference opponents can give the UH a much-needed Halloween treat:
American (21-6, 12-0 PLC) … This week: 10/27 W over Navy … 10/30 W over Holy Cross …. 10/31 @ Army West Point …. Standings (prior to weekend battles): American remains the leader of the 9-team Patriot League Conf. but breathing down its neck is Army West Point (10-1) … Conf. does have a Patriot League Tournament to determine who gets the automatic bid to the Post Season
CSU Bakersfield (9-12, 7-2 WAC) … This week: 10/29 W over Seattle U … 10/31 vs Utah Valley … Standings (prior to weekend action): 9-0 New Mexico St leads the 8-team WAC followed by Utah Valley and CSU-Bakersfield… Conf. does have a WAC Tournament
E. Washington (13-9, 8-3 Big Sky) … 10/29 LOST to Montana … 10/30 vs Montana St …. Standings (prior to weekend wars): E. Washington leads the 6-team North Division, but overall trails the stronger 6-team South Division leaders Northern Arizona (10-1) and Idaho St (9-2) …. Conf. does have a Big Sky Tournament
Florida (16-4, 8-3 SEC) … 10/30 W over S. Carolina … 11/01 @ Georgia … Standings (prior to weekend pairings): Kentucky (8-2), Missouri (7-2), Texas A&M (7-2), and hitting-its-stride Florida (8-3) are the top 4 of the 13-member SEC … Conf. does not have a Tournament
Idaho (10-13, 7-4 Big Sky) … 10/29 W over Montana St …. 10/31 vs Montana … Standings (prior to weekend contests): 2nd to E. Washington in the Big Sky’s 6-member North Division but 5th overall in the 12-team league … Conf. does have a Big Sky Tournament
Iowa (10-13, 0-10 Big Ten) … 10/30 LOST to Maryland …. 10/31 vs Rutgers …. If ever there was a time for the Hawkeyes to show their corn-fed pride, this is it … Standings of the 14-crew Big Ten (prior to weekend fights): Minnesota (10-1), Penn St (10-2), Purdue (8-2), Nebraska (8-3), Ohio St (8-4), Wisconsin (7-4) … Conf. does not have a Big Ten Tournament
Oregon St (4-16, 2-8 Pac-12) … 10/30 @ Colorado … 11/01 @ Utah … Go figure: 20 games through the 2015 schedule, Oregon State volleyball team, with a current 124 RPI, boasts the nation’s 5th-toughest SOS (Strength of Schedule), according to the NCAA … Standings (prior to weekend matches): conf. bottom feeders are Utah (1-9), Oregon St (2-8), California (2-8), and Washington St (3-7) … Pac-12 does not have a Pac-12 Tournament
San Diego St (7-17, 4-7 MWC) … 10/29 LOST @ Colorado St … 10/31 @ Wyoming … Standings (prior to weekend snooze-you-lose contests): Colorado St (11-0) leads the 11-team MWC and should get the automatic bid to The Dance; Utah St (1-10), Air Force (3-7), San Diego St (4-7), Nevada (4-7), San Jose St (4-7), and Fresno St (4-6) are all struggling to end the season with a .500 conference record … League doesn’t have a Mountain West Tournament
UCLA (17-3, 8-2 Pac 12) … 10/30 @ Washington St … 11/01 @ Washington … Standings (prior to weekend cliffhangers): Top 4 teams are USC (10-0), Washington (8-2), UCLA (8-2), and Stanford (8-3) … League does not have a Pac-12 Tournament
Wichita St (18-6, 9-1 MVC) … 10/31 @ Missouri St … Standings (prior to weekend slugfests): Shockers lead the 10-team Missouri Valley Conference … MVC does have a Mountain Valley Tournament to determine who gets the automatic bid to SHOWTIME
GO BOWS!
Wishing the team good luck, and very curious about tonight’s starting lineup.
easy, Magill, Maglio, Taylor, Greely, Kahakai, TMO, and Higgins.
Cindy really nice article on Olivia. She will be missed.
3, hoping the injury bug is done with them.
Uh oh. Tried opening the video stream, but am getting a stream not found error message.
Same here.
Washington up 2-0 to USC, 17-11 in the 3rd…
Same here. Sent OC Sport email about it. In the past, there responded to the email. And it appeared that they occasionally forget about turning on the steaming.
I just tweeted them too. Hopefully they get our messages.
Sent another email to OC sport. Still nothing
UW swept USC…
I’m getting the OCSports splash screen, but no pre-game show.
Live streaming music and standby screen is now up but no pre-game show streaming as yet.
Can anybody fill us in if anything interesting is being said on the pregame show?
Was watching the Wisconsin vs. Purdue match and wow, both team looked really good.
Oh well, have to listen to KKEA AM’s audio stream.
Finally!
UW sweeps SC, 26-24, 25-21, 25-15
sorry don’t know what to tell you about OCS
From the I CARE Department: A pleasure to read, as always, OrbitalRipZ!
I bet Long Beach will be inspired by the upset of the top team in the PAC 12 Conference by Washington in its home court. No doubt that Long Beach will want to emulate them next week when Hawaii comes to visit. Also surprising that USC with its ace queen Semantha Bricio did not score a single ace. No one in that team did. That’s unusual!
16. Doubt if the Beach needs any outside motivation
